So ya, things look kinda grim in the forecast while the majority of us either consent to doom or try to find the best loophole to escape cope with it. So, what's the alternative to capitalism in your book? Cause I don't see anything wrong with it. It's the only system, if unobstructed, that self-regulates. Everything else is artificially steered by humans, humans that are inherently incapable of seeing the bigger picture of all the interactions in a system as complex as our planet. And so far I haven't even read about anything that comes even remotely close to capitalism. Democracy on the other hand... is just the opposite extreme of authoritarian regimes and ultimately not much different. capitalism feeds the human greed that's the biggest issue i see with it... That greed then leads man to make immoral decisions. The more power you have the better are the chances of you getting away with the crime... Surely I don't have a working model for humans to follow vs. capitalism and I agree with Thekool1s, greed and power seeking are the largest problems. Greed and power separates us fundamentally. I'm not sure how long but I don't believe capitalism will exist far into our evolution. I think our unique ability to be conscience of ourselves will ultimately lead us back to hive mind where 1 is no more important than another and in fact its critical that all participate selflessly and simultaneously. Sort of like ants. Fire-ants if you like or bees. Sure, there's a queen but shes not an authoritarian figure but responsible to create the strongest and most efficient community for the whole. Quite contrary to our current and historical attempts. Humans cannot possibly evolve without passing through this simple and fundamental value of selflessness. Democracy suggests that the majority will pass a vote. Compounded with greed (capitalism) leads to corruption and ultimately tyranny where only division is possible. Currently humans are the biggest joke on the planet although we are unique in our ability to be self aware and pursue individual free will (tainted by our own constructs of democracy and capitalism). Hive mind in my opinion is the only way forward and when we start to become this, those previous constructs will dissolve. |

It's the conspiratorial saga of Rajneeshpuram (Osho) community as it attempted self governance in the 80's in outback Oregon. Surprisingly its led me to consider the importance of governance. I'll take a look. I recently watched a show called Jungletown about the recreational colonization of a place called Kalu Yala that convinced me of the importance of despotic opportunists. Very cool, modern day Rainbow gathering. My 23 year old self is interested. 50 minutes outside Panama city... yikes. |

I am pretty sure you can game the tax systems by “earning” all your income while offshore or in a tax free jurisdiction and not staying in any particular Western country for more than 179 days [does not work for US citizens]
So fly to Dubai to cash out your BTC and then go skiing for a couple of months, rinse repeat.
The problem that I have is specifically with owning property in that kind of situation. I don't want to go from hotel to hotel or Airbnb to Airbnb for the travel part. But if I could just own two houses and have each of them set up as a fully functional base then I would be perfectly happy to just fly over from one to the other every 6 months. Just haven't found anything specific regarding this edge case yet. Yup, 6 months here 6 there is pretty ideal. I've been doing perpetual summer for the better part of 20 years and its worked out very well. Depending on the country, ownership of land or house can get tricky, especially in SE Asia it has a particular set of headaches. I prefer to rent/lease long term in Asia which also gives me the option to pick up and go much easier if needed and own in the countries which I have citizenship. Just looked out the window. I envy your lifestyle. Haha I see that your neck of the woods is ankle deep in shit. Disgusting, really. I was depressed by the 12C and fog here, but now I'm laughing a little. thanks  It’s a desolate, godless moonscape, totally uninhabitable. If we had dancing girls they’d be eaten by street-wolves. Cash is still king in these parts so financial anonymity is much easier achieved. Just don't work illegally and as mentioned before, avoid the chicken girls and the exotic lifestyle is yours. |
