2641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GARLICOIN - Reddit's Garlic Bread Worshiping Currency on: April 22, 2018, 07:38:27 PM
I think the dev should start a new thred and explain the issues.

Is the OP somehow related to the project and the dev? How come he took over the ANN thread here? I think he has no right to control it.

You are right, I should update the thread stating the truth about this project.

They have never really bothered in the past, what makes you think they will start now....the usual reply is

"garlicoin is a meme coin" thus it will survive on that alone (the cute name)

they cashed out on the pump and are out now ..IMHO....

I see no real progress or innovation...IF they had some ASIC action now as scrypt-N from the NOW off KNC Titan miners (does not pay to mine LTC anymore)

at least there would be some 'noise' that maybe would have amounted to something as these units tried to mine

now..meh! I see no real future on this coin Sad

2642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [$PAC] [X11] Community Governed | Masternodes | Actively Trading on: April 22, 2018, 01:53:49 AM
Sorry this may be pre-fork to $pac coin

but

can you mine this coin (x11) or has that time passed and only masternodes?

If masternodes, what is the amount of coin needed ...as long as I'm asking about mining...

thanks

I was sitting at the pool here in Pattaya and some thai girl was taking off her t-shirt that said

Hold
On for
Dear
Life

on the back. Then she hung out with her foreign boyfriend in the pool. I figured he was the rich bitcoin guy that got his hot young thai girl (with fake titties and all).

As I was leaving I commented "Awesome t-shirt man". They looked at me like I was crazy.

Damn....this is why I need to HODL and see 40k BTC.....(good to have goals!)

2644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: April 21, 2018, 05:25:17 PM
Anybody know how much longer Bitmain will be selling the L3+. It seems at some point these miners will be worthless if they coninue to sell them for too long. There needs to be a limit.

Bitmain knows no limit on selling hardware (ie toasters) ...as an example I give you the D3 x11 miner they still have for sale for $311 usd.

If you got one of those from the below calculator (the specs say 970 watts actual watts on my pair was 1200 watts FYI)

so using their 'dubious' 970 watts at 12c kwh and 17gh hash rate from their specs page

https://shop.bitmain.com/product/detail?pid=00020180413233339727zU4TasAy06DF

this DASH calculator  https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/dash?HashingPower=&HashingUnit=MH%2Fs&PowerConsumption=140&CostPerkWh=0.12&MiningPoolFee=1

Gives me this below:

https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/dash?HashingPower=17&HashingUnit=MH%2Fs&PowerConsumption=970&CostPerkWh=0.12&MiningPoolFee=1

-$2.79 per day and $83.67 per month LOSS

So yeah, being evil and all, they really can just pump them out as useless bricks to the uniformed...

on a 'side note' of evilness by Bitmain...the adoption of Bitcoin Cash (BCH) seems SO lame ..that they have to burn some (see below)

https://www.ccn.com/bitmain-will-burn-12-of-bitcoin-cash-tx-fees-calls-on-other-miners-to-follow-suit/

From what I can tell that is one way to get around 'not enough adoption' of BCH!

(evil: busy, busy) (tm: Bitmain)

So to stay on point for this post and thread...YES, THEY REALLY CAN JUST SELL L3+'S TILL WAY PAST ANY POSSIBILITY OF ROI.....

Are we back to weekend pumps?

Indeed I hope so, one more major FUD fest like the last month and the IRS taxes due date...and I'll crack like a walnut...not sure how I would handle

another FUD fest and dump to 6,600 again...

(just saying, long time HODL'er..but man, I need a break on the cycles happening this fast ..it is dizzying!)

Looking for the most ‘reputable’ decred calculator.

Also ordered one 1st batch. Anyone remember the supposed ship date?

Thanks. Don’t trust the calcs for decred I found.

End of June 30th but they will try to release sooner. I have heard no updates from obelisk tech yet. Hopefully they release on time or earlier bc Chinese decred miners are hitting the streets already.

I thought that was SC-1 siacoin miner at that date? And decred 2 months later?

Hope I’m dead wrong.

L3+ is coming to the doorstop Era  Grin Grin Grin

I've had mine for around 8 months and it took me a little over 2 months to get my money back.

 Grin

How is that possible?

he had it 8 months ago when difficulty was much much lower....I also got my L3+'s last summer...thus no issue on ROI then Smiley

Currently in HODL mode since 2013...but the BTC held is getting to the point that IF the price of BTC was to dump back to under 6k

I'd probably crack and flush it all....(still have alts but still)...the yo/yo'ing of the price is starting to wear me down....show a 'bottom'

of around 9K to 10k and my panic like a  12-year-old ..in full SELL reflexes MAY be manageable...

+the higher it goes, the more my impulse to sell and use the proceeds for 'dubious purposes' (like getting a life....I've been mining crypto

so long, I forget what that is kinda...but so I'm told...)

2652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: April 18, 2018, 11:20:58 PM
price increased  Roll Eyes 606 now

Notice the L3++, this one may produce sligthly more or be more effective.
No....no it doesn't. Just more Bitmain trickery and deception. They are desperate to clear the legacy Technology from their buildings. Their mining ops are moving to Canada and the US and they don't want to pack all that shit up. They also need room on their shelves for the newer technology units that they will screw us over on next. I can't wait until July or August when they announce the newer Scrypt and SHA256 units and all us guppies eat each other's tails begging and scrapping to get one or two units, while Bitmain sells 1000's behind our backs to large corporate mining businesses in back room deals. Same shit....different flies. When Bitmain opens their Mining here in Washington State, I hope some Eco-terrorists blow the place to Kingdom Come.

Well, my 'iffy' hedge on getting equip and funding (only way to do it .must show income) to a solo401k...by getting 12 more miners..again hedge..is still kinda hanging in there

as even (go LTC go)

However, in fairness, I/we/ whoever got these units, we need to have Bitmain start the data hall mining of new machines END OF SUMMER and then the usual us 'consumers'

would get them 2 months later ...say shipping in Oct 2018...

IF, they say have NEW units they can mine, beginning and say, MAY 2018, well this hedge probably did not work, without some major price action

we will see, it was a hedge for what I said above and paid with dubious alt coins...on an 8k to 6k dump in price for BTC (with alts following) thus if such a dump the alts

I paid for this would have tanked anyway...so used the alts and 'hedged' and spread around the risk

as usual, looks like I shoulda just kept the alts Sad FML

oh well, showing at least 12 miners of SOMETHING if I'm out of mining will keep the IRS and state tax folk happy anyway, the last thing I want them to think in these

times is that I got all this crypto by doing ...GASP... TRADING... shudder (you trader guys, they really, really, really are out to get you big time)

well...again, still 'teetering' on the tightrope of even-steven ...we will see...

But yeah, this whole 'miner' aspect of my crypto could be 'all done' by end of Summer 2018...at least the NON-bitmain type big data hall stuff with scrypt-pow...

right now my 2,300mh of 300mh KNC Titans at 1,250 watts are off-line, I'd need $200 buck LTC now to run them and break even at current difficulty

considering I got my first NEW one on November 8th, 2014...I really, really, can't be too upset about such..but hey, $225 LTC would be nice Smiley

anyway, as usual, and like most of you guys, just trying to 'wing it', we will see...

so anyway, on to the NEXT goal ...going into HODL mode after expenses, as long as I can mine, to get as much LTC as I can before the

April 2019 halving. That should keep me out of trouble till then. Also should consider 'attic mining' the $5k of crap in the attic on to eBay ..and buy

LTC and hold also....1) clean attic = rec room = $10k value increase on house at least 2) I get LTC w/o risk of getting mining equipment anymore, say in 2018.

stuff to do, always crypto drama and stuff to do

brad

Latest on what an L3+ 500mh at 800 watts, costs me with electric/data hall costs all/etc at $130 LTC and one L3+ rent/elec at $80 a month...this setup is 'monthly'
out of 'courtesy'

24 hours   0.03559155 LTC   4.63 USD   2.69 USD   1.94 USD
7 days   0.24914085 LTC   32.39 USD   18.82 USD   13.57 USD
30 days   1.06774651 LTC   138.81 USD   80.64 USD   58.17 USD

Not really sweating the 12 L3+'s at this rate of pay vs the dubious alts' I paid for them....if this keeps up ...it was a washout either way

damn, the above is ugly, ugly, ugly

Looks like these "data centers" are the only ones making money. I recommend they be burnt to the ground.

Well my home price is 12c kwh starting this summer..and the local elec company seems to always increase the base rate by 1c every summer (got to cover them pesky

solar folk that don't use the grid!) So using this range on my house home rate...I figure it works the same...add 1c per kWh per year seems the norm.

The 2c extra includes all the grunt work by my buddy/partner on his end....so, for the service I get on setup/fixing stuff/etc and my current rates it is a fair price

(and the fact too many for my basement) well..at least from my point of view on the extra 2c...the base rate the utility company charges me sucks though...

but as to if one L3+ = $80 a month as a package...well we better see some price action

Currently, it is for me on the above rate for 500mh and 800 watts (or $80 an L3+ per month) @ $134 per LTC.

24 hours   0.03474589 LTC   4.66 USD   2.67 USD   1.99 USD
7 days   0.24322122 LTC   32.59 USD   18.67 USD   13.92 USD
30 days   1.04237666 LTC   139.68 USD   80.00 USD   59.67 USD

So, yeah....looks pretty ugly yet...still less than $2 a day in LTC!

I pay around $27.648 per month for electricity for one L3+, but I feel more comfortable buying Litecoin rather than buying one of these discounted L3+. I feel like they're coming out with a new miner that's gonna destroy profitability on these L3+. I really hope things go well for you my friend.

it is what it is....so basically, the last month...with the ups and downs in price and the difficulty etc....the ave price is around 2 bucks a day for me for L3+'s

so seems bo be a race between price and difficulty..the real question is if/when bitmain MAY toss the supposed 1.5gh 1,300-watt units and mine them over the summer

or just wait for 'deployment' when prices are higher... regardless we will get the units 4-5 months after them 'mining the heck out of them' if they exist that is

so anyway, unless we see some price movement from sideways on BTC and LTC in a major way...(esp if L3+'s can't seem to cut the mustard) ..that means all

POW-SCRYPT miners are in big trouble..because IF Bitmain does have these 1.5gh units at 1,300 watts...THEY MAY BARELY MAKE IT...thus whatever the result

Bitmain will by itself OWN say 80% of all those miners in its OWN data halls, due to price (us not getting units or unavailable) or just difficulty even putting Bitmain

in a 'bind' accounting for the difficulty

and again, in my case paid with 'dubious altcoins' thus if it all goes to sh*t these 12 Bitmain units, compared to what these alts would have dumped anyway...it is a wash

HOWEVER, as a sideways hedge it seems to be working so far..much to my amazement ...(at least on my 'unicorn farts and fairydust..hope of a pump of LTC)

drama, drama..always drama

(bitmain: evil: how to win friends and influence people!) (tm: bitmain)

Another good news for Litecoin: KorbitBTC will launch LTC trading! More info here https://twitter.com/SatoshiLite/status/986135546215845888 !

what kind of fees would a 'debit' card have in this manner? My bank account debit card has no fees if I use it with the bank, but that will not apply in this case.

(I just don't know enough about debit cards outside of the one my bank gives me)

Come to Thailand. It won´t be worse than this. If you avoid the girls, you´re home free !
And for half the money !
And you can drive around on a Moped, the whole year. That´s what i´m doing.
I´m blessed. No Joke !

Guys, i really can´t see, why you should end your life in such negative places, pack your things, even your family, and move !

I'm actually heading to Thailand tomorrow to stay for about 2 months. Will be mostly in the Bangkok area.

Bangkok is not my cup of tea, i´m more of a beach guy: My girlfriend says, look at your belly. Stay safe !

I have been there many times. My gf lives there. I'm going to help work out her visa to come to Tahiti.

Will be in Pattaya this week though for a bit of beach life (same thing as here but I guess different colored sand).

sigh....FML ..good for you thou....but FML (currently today got done shoveling 14" of snow ..great spring we are having in the midwest usa) Sad

Halong is shipping 10NM Samsung chipped 16th miners. You can bet your sweet Satoshi, Bitmain is about to drop a bomb on their ass. As for a new L3+. I'll guarantee it. It's the easiest miner they make to upgrade. The thing is still 28NM. Only reason they didn't do it already is because so many people were blindly piling into mining at "any cost". Bitmain squeezed a LOT of blood out of that turnip.

well...to be fair some 'larger' miners and I did this as a 'hedge' in case BTC and LTC went down to say 6k or some such...and then a sideways price...

as 'hedges' go at my size...is still looking at EVEN..in other words just will ROI and pay electric and THEN maybe will be a doorstop...but depends on Bitmain antics on new

miners, price, difficulty due them mining say 4 months before the release of the new units (supposed 1.5gh)  and of course IF there are no units...

*, sprinkle fairy dust here*

The rumor that SURE they are making data halls, but with issues on elec and hosting and such in the USA and Canada ...a guy can hope that this 'coupon' dump

and equipment dump was 'overstock' from 'no longer in the running' mining farms in the works..due to the current FUD and such by electrical utilities wanting more

elec rates from crypto miners farms specifically and of course communities in those cheap electric areas wanting their cut as well...with new regulations and taxes.

Also, Bitmain may have had a bit too much BCH which also would help with the above dump....now they take LTC, BTC and wire xfer and DASH I think?

*again this is sprinkled with fairy dust*

but a guy can hope at least "some' of the above accounts for this massive dump of equipment Sad

2659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: April 16, 2018, 02:42:19 AM

assuming scrptt hashrates stay constant thats six months roi not terrible

Which would be an insane assumption, Scypt hashrates haven't been even CLOSE to flat for a very long time now.

They haven't been as bad as that big jump in December 2017, but the average this year has been about 2% per difficulty period.

With cheaper miners I would think it goes higher or at least, it would go higher than if the miners were expensive.
The other bigger risk is that this is on 28nm. If a 16nm appears, it might be 3 times better, as how s9 is 3 times better than s7

Innos A4+ is 15-20%  more efficient but is on 14nm node. So, if bitmain comes up with a 14nm l3 in future, it will be alot better i think. I really hope one does not appear soon though as it would be bad for L3+ owners.... but a 14nm L3 would possibly have no possible competitor that comes close to matching it.

Just my 2 cents

I'm beginning to think 80/20 that the Bitmain 1.5gh unit @ 1,300 watts exists. Thus the 'fire sale' of old stuff with/coupons...and likely they will 'announce' sales to us at the end

of Summer with the result of (likely these overpriced units) will hit us folk say around October 2018...

*THE KICKER IS* Bitmain will have these puppies in hand and likely run them full out (only game in town) from say May 1st to 0ct 1st being "mainly' the sole source of say

LTC difficulty rise of *guess* about 20-30% (worse case)...again I'm just guessing and IMHO.

But, even Bitmain, with these units, is going to have to see a pretty good increase in the price of scrypt-pow coins for this to have any 'validity' or they will simply

be as *skunked* as us 'regular folk', by the first of the year, IMHO. The difficulty increase waits for NOBODY...small/medium/or large without the price of coin being a factor.

ONLY good thing is IF you are a 'hobby miner" and can afford to 'eat' your electric say out of your JOB income...I'd do that on the bet of the LTC halving in April 2018 for LTC.

It is something to do, keep your eye on, and a 'modest' bet in my view...as to us larger miners...with data halls, etc...it may just be elec to LTC to USD and mostly back to Elec

oranges to oranges ..if the price goes sideways and difficulty surpasses price. I could eat  a couple L3+'s in the basement and eat electric price on the April 2019 halving of LTC

...as my 'angle' on hobby miners...AS to such a bet for data hall mining or the 22 Bitmain units I have (even if month to month rent) ....well....

Such a bet would not be easy ..if above 'ugly scenarios' came into play and 'thwarted and struck me down' the other say 18 Bitmain Units .NOT in my basement..in my

new found 'hobby' mode...at that point in time..I suppose I could make a 'wall of

shame' out of .18 miners would make a 'formidable fort' to playin....but not a lot of wiggle room with data hall electric and fees...compared to a hobby miner betting some elecric

and HODL mode for next years April 2018 LTC halving...(Bit mining is great, but when the beast is pretty and big...but you got to feed the beast or it feeds on you!)

whatever, bets are made...time to ride the tiger

2660  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: April 15, 2018, 11:45:26 PM

What price and shipping speed, with the new firmware, do you expect this to be even with competitors? Not that you would get such...just what would be 'comfortable' now?

(assuming, they don't lower their prices yet again, which they seem to do weekly!)
