281  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is forex trading a hobby or a skill on: April 06, 2024, 06:34:41 PM

they can trade in the long-term chart where a few pip increments of price in a month, they still make hundreds of thousands. they stick to their trading position while also busy in their brick-and-mortar business while trading. this is like a hobby.

but some people look at forex trading as their sole business that they trade every minute of the day as the market shuts down on the weekends. forex market is just like the futures market in crypto, they players are pros.
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Taxes on ETH staking rewards on: April 06, 2024, 05:20:19 PM
I don't know much about whether it's true or not but I want it to be true. Every sector in the US has taxes on it and I don't get why people in crypto want tax free earning. The governments have the complete right to impose taxes on each and everything they want because of the facilities they are giving you.As a citizen you are compelled to pay taxes.

The other side of the coin is that governments should provide security and insurance that whenever there will be a scam or something like that we have your back and we'll try to track the criminals behind that. In the past days a couple of blockchains owners were sentenced for some time and that's a positive sign too.

that's also very true. its always an obligation to pay tax when you are a citizen of a country. we all have been paying our government but if i have to, i will really be happy to send money more than what is needed especially if we can see they build bridges and roads and infrastructures that will make the citizens comfortable.

i'm not from US though. but here's what i heard from those guys who were paying diligently, the tax money should be going back to the community and not to the people crossing borders.
283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you advise a friend in the same way? on: April 05, 2024, 09:39:51 PM
Or am I wrong? I need to know if this advice is a good one or a bad one, I gave him this advice because we are very close and also because I will do the same thing if I am in his shoe, this is the best thing i can think of right now.
It can be a good advice, but it is not good to give financial advice when not asked. Financial advice is not what you give to everyone especially friends because it can ruin your friendship if this advice leads the way of the downfall of the business, and also because you are not professional. Do not give financial suggestions to people unless they ask you for it, and even when asked about it, always be sure to add a warning to them to not follow your advice without trying to do their own research.
Yes, it can be certainly good but a risky one. There are still no guarantees that if you invest in bitcoin, you will end up with significant profits, that only happens for those who have been hodling their bitcoins for too long, probably 5-10 years without having an attempt to sell them earlier. Now, I don’t think that long term hodling will be applicable to the company funds because I believe, those funds will serve as a back up for the company in case some budget shortage will occur, and if you invest it into bitcoin, you are already defeating the purpose of that money stored in a bank.

He can actually invest using his own funds, at least if he lose partial of his funds, that won’t be an issue since it won’t compromise the company funds.

he just has to make sure OP is also there when the market trends are about to change.
it is good advice at least when the market is bullish but even MS did what it did because there is the need to make a profit.

i am afraid to give a piece of advice as such to someone because i don't want to be blamed. it's why all those that i tried convincing to have BTC are just my siblings because these guys will just laugh at why they ever listen to me if ever i fail them.
284  Economy / Services / Re: Freelancer Marketplace For BTC Micro Jobs on: April 05, 2024, 06:28:28 PM
Besides that there is a referral program that pays 0.0001 BTC per new referral.

i couldn't access the website also just like them above. but let's just look for a while at this quote above. because seems BS.

i can tell there must be something else like the referred user must work a few jobs or he must be an employer.  because if the website pays 0.0001 BTC/referral the site is going to pay many users when all relatives are going to register. they won't have problems submitting their KYC as they are willing to.
285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Countdown to the 4th Bitcoin halving.. what should we expect? on: April 05, 2024, 05:41:42 PM
I don't expect anything special on halving day. What I do expect is that halving will slowly take effect and in a few months we will have a rise to $100K and beyond. By reducing the supply of new Bitcoins and having generated in the previous cycles price hikes there will be fewer Bitcoins for sale, or for sale at a price that the seller considers low.
The new around the halving even can actually caused some kind increased volatility that can push price up that very day. You know bitcoin feed on news. I think we are expecting the halving of this year to be just like every other year but I feel there will be some kind of difference. As you know, bitcoin have been on the rise long before the halving. This should be the first halving we have such wide increase in price prior to halving and that should naturally indicate that there is a little variation from the way it has been. Even though we are experiencing a kind of ranging market now, I have the feeling that the halving event will lead to major shift in price regime. This move is however expected to be sustained following the market pattern of bull run after halving.

which is why i got a hunch that after halving day, the price may actually be dumped as a sort of manipulation by the whales probably through the coins deposited by the government to Coinbase. it seems like perfect timing to send the coins to an exchange while the halving is just a few weeks and then people are also expecting a huge leap in price. this price dive will make poor investors poorer.

i have been watching the market and political affairs for a while and i see the correlation to what governments do. even the plans of MiCA to regulate Defi seem coming as well.
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to invest 1k in altcoins on: April 05, 2024, 05:05:23 PM
he isn't a newbie here in the forum so he must know something but he still asks. if you are not going to gamble the $1000 on blackjack, i guess it fits if you invest in an altcoin that you can also gamble on casinos. buy doge if this is what you have in moind.

but its bull run, its coming and if i am in the position, i would probably spend the $1k to a memecoin. you ask for it and that's my answer, no diversification and all to a memecoin, probably Shib and just wait til the price is good for selling. SHIB is also accepted on stake.com by the way.

287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A few crypto questions. on: April 05, 2024, 04:23:34 PM

they recommend holding because if you actively trade, you are going to lose. holding means you are going to trade to fiat at a certain especially when the bull season is almost over.

if you want to earn, you will need to trade to accumulate the quality of your altcoin holdings which is also risky. usually, it's done when you think the price drops, you sell for a stablecoin and then buy back the tokens when you think the price is about to shoot up again.
288  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Scammers won't mind kicking those who are already down on: April 04, 2024, 09:15:53 PM
this is the same situation as the person being scammed. the scammer's victim who asks for help recovering their Bitcoin still is targeted by more scammers pretending they could recover the BTC.

FTX victims are still the target for scammers. you really can tell this world is a dog-eat-dog world and you who have been scammed will need to learn the hardest way and be suspicious every time someone chats at you because damn sure something is not right when out of nowhere someone DMs you. when something is not right, you best believe kicking them right to their face is the right thing to do.
289  Economy / Economics / Re: Agent of Economic stimulant on: April 04, 2024, 07:18:44 PM
Only advanced countries with solid economic background are not suffering much from this inflation and instability of economic development.
Governments are responsible for all these and are the only solution to the economic problem of our countries if they tends to change their mentality to become productive instead of being dependent of other countries to produce something for them to buy from them.

Industrialization will help our economy worldwide because countries with good production rate that depend on what they produce are not suffering this like countries that depend on other countries to buy what they need.

industrialization is too difficult to achieve when your country is among those who are trying to eliminate natural gas to run the machines. if it's going to be a crime to use energy coming from natural gas/oil, your country will eventually be de-industrialized instead. especially in countries with winter seasons for agriculture will be halted for 3 months due to the weather.

the most important part of running a country is to satisfy the people so that they never go hungry. hungry people are impatient and if one of them figured out, that there is no food for the next 3 months, the information spread and the government would be in danger.
290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: !!HELP US GROW!! on: April 04, 2024, 06:06:00 PM

you only have one game there. it leaves the influencer a few things to say about your casino. no offense this game is good but i also tried playing the demo for more than 10 minutes. it just not making a player excited when the low i think is the highest is just x1.20? just what i noticed. and then in the extreme is x26 which is also amazing you gotta be the luckiest in the entire night to pick the right one among the 64 boxes.

give each user $50 every signup and let them play. no withdrawing until they double. i think you can make your casino busy the entire year.
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is one altcoin you will never invest in 2024 even if it has massive pump? on: April 04, 2024, 05:22:21 PM
Quote
BSV

i think everyone knows already this is created by the impostor CSW. it will probably make a big profit for someone who will invest still but i'm not supporting the project.
same with other coins that also have issues in the past like the Worldcoin which was developed by Sam Altmann who is also known to have developed ChatGPT.
i guess there are just more altcoins other than them.
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Number of new memecoin traders hits record high on: April 04, 2024, 04:41:01 PM

they see the success of Doge and Shib still is on top of its game even in the bear market and this i guess made them think it's a good investment if it goes up again. but for long term i think this is for the gullible mind to think holding it for long term is a good strategy.

it is still fun to see your money grow by holding memecoins for now. i have bought some new ones just recently, it's quite doubling already and because i'm still early i guess selling for is not yet worth it.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins that you trust most on: April 04, 2024, 04:20:55 PM

yes BNB is something to be trusted since we know Binance is a big company that wouldn't just go pop like a bubble but also ETH. they are two of the biggest in the smart contract rivalry. there are certainly more of them but these two are the most used over the years, my wallet is the same anyway, we just have to check the network we use to access our BNB and ETH tokens.
294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lately I've been thinking about this a lot. on: April 04, 2024, 03:53:15 PM
if the rules and the right gloves are to be used in this match,  i think Mike will lose. the old Mike has almost chronic backpain. In real life, it's not possible to win against someone as huge as Jake who has also KO'd fighters bigger than Mike. you may think Jake is just a problem child of Disney but he is a real big guy who can box. but this is an exhibition where rules are prepared for Mike not to drop dead.

there could be some Mafia in UFC also just like in Boxing but this is almost rare to be seen by the public eye as is done in the situation of Pikey Mickey. but they give some clues though especially in the rival fighters which they know the fight could become a series up to a trilogy.
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what you guys think? on: April 03, 2024, 09:12:13 PM

i have no idea they exist but i can see this is a game and NFT project which BNB suits well. BNB is already great for the transaction fees which gamers will be able to buy and sell without having to think the fees go to waste. it's way better than any other network.

the dev team is making a mistake in doing this, i wonder i someone among them is stupidly influential but yep it's still the team's decision. either they want rugpull already and blame it on SOL after it.
296  Economy / Economics / Re: Does sound money have to be Private? on: April 03, 2024, 08:49:43 PM
the term sound of money i thought was purity as they hear sound when they drop the gold coin to the floor.
if you don't want to be monitored i guess there are ways to do it or just use the anon coins for your transaction to go unnoticed.  you just have to deal with someone who also doesn't want to be monitored.

now that everything is public on blockchain, it may just be hard to do what you want to do. when they say cash is king, they must be telling the truth.
297  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for April on: April 03, 2024, 06:46:24 PM
i think the month of April will still be green. the price is just dumping but eventually, either in the last week or in mid-month the price will start climbing again making the candle green. the price may just be 70K most probably. this is going to scare the hodlers though, there's too much hopeful who have yet sold and i i'm guess the price will touch 62k before going up again.

and then in May, it will be the same situation again for a few weeks until the supply will obviously make the miners sell for a higher price.
298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Taxes on ETH staking rewards on: April 03, 2024, 06:31:00 PM
Coinbase is stock market listed company in US. So as per the local law, they are bound to report everything to IRS and other related departments. So they are doing what is expected.

Secondly, staking is your income. So you must have to pay your taxes as per the local law. That should be seen as a surprise at all. If you aren't sure about these things or not sure about the dollar value to consider, always take professional help. I am sure there are multiple tax law firms available in your country who knows how to deal with such things. Pay your taxes diligently because you wouldn't want regulatory hassles in your life.

coinbase IPO was 2021. the staking rewards back in 2020 shouldn't be taxed for this fact, correct?

if it's fair to say pay up your tax after all you are a citizen then they have to pay. most US citizens i think is on coinbase, it's a large sum to collect. Armstrong really did a big favor to the IRS for doing all this. he should win the highest medal for a civilian to have helped the country.

299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you considered staking? on: April 03, 2024, 04:36:44 PM
that's what a long-term holder i guess should do. however, it's important to know that if staking means you are going to send your ETH to a platform, then it's just one way of saying goodbye to your ETH.

its important to know how trustworthy the platform. and this is why most investors will probably trade or hold the tokens inside their wallets.
as for me, because i have much trust in Binance, i wll pick them if i ever want to stake.
Binance doesn't longer work in most of these African countries and we will be looking at Nigeria to start with, the government issued a ban on this particular exchange for relevant reasons known to them. Investors are not willing to take their chances other for most of them to follow procedure, they become desperate to make profit and leading them to take risks. We have crypto projects that makes the most significant results for us, just abide by the rules and one will easily spot out the easy path to generating profits.

i guess no staking for you unless you wanna gamble your ETH to those staking pools and send your ETH to them. if you are not into staking then there are lots of options still. either you just hold your ETH or keep training after all finance is not just the only exchange there is.

i think i saw a thread about users who stake their ETH through the Trust wallet. you know TRust Wallet is still owned by Binance right? but i couldn't be sure.

or you can find other altcoins that you can also stake to make a profit by holding for a long time.
300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BGB hits another ATH, despite the crypto downtrend.. on: April 03, 2024, 04:18:26 PM
I haven’t heard of this token before but good for you. Maybe, depending on how early you got in, you should think about realising some profits now. Obviously don’t sell all of it but these type of projects can rug pull so best to take some profits.

It's an exchange token powering bitget ecosystem, I think rugpull is out of it. I read their whitepaper and I was impressed. One of the best performing cex token at the moment..

i think this exchange is the next FTX in the coming bear market maybe in the beginning on off 2026, this exchange will start to crumble. they are massively adding lots of coins including the unknown memecoins. this is how FTX started. a sudden rise of the exchange is no coincidence.

this is why i'm not going to try this exchange although i wanted to buy TON but i'd rather be using the TONkeeper exchange than submitting KYC to this exchange.

but if you are already registered, take this opportunity to make money.
