Just had this thought. because chinese have such hard probelsm taking money out of their closed system, and new regs meant individuals can buy btc on chinese exchanges but banks can't del with transactions etc, that stopped the last bubble, along with mtgox and karpeles screwing up...
now that Winklevii have gemini ready to officially launch tomorrow and they have jumped through all regulatory hoops, they want to attract institutional investors, does that mean Chinese can invest in bitcoin via Gemini if big boys and using platofrm as an institutional investment. ie via shell companies?
just wondering as Chinese money often has to buy overpriced real estate to get cash out country, they don't want to be in chinese stocks, so if this was a way for the, we could see moon?
So you say that they have problem with moving money out of China. Then you speculate that they would be able to trade on Gemini - because it is regulated? How exactly this would help in the problem with moving money out of China? Do you realize that Gemini is in the USA and that USA means outside of China?

OKCoin volume data is unreliable and the Bitstamp volume increase comes from Bitfinex volume decrease. Bitfinex matching engine problems scared some people who moved their trading to Bitstamp.

I think we're going into a bull market. What do you think? Why bullish all of the sudden? Just curious. A week ago he started a thread about going down. Did not work. Maybe pumping up will work? I think he overestimates the influence of this forum - the real Fontas pump and dumps were in much smaller markets.

The money being pumped into the bitcoin ecosystem was giving me much hope - but I think that most of the companies being funded are closer to MtGox than to Google and now after the BitPay announcement this might get visible to the VCs as well.

Yeah - because burning electricity just to sort transactions into a linear order is so good for the environment.

It dips every weekend. So it's easy to pick a number and say it'll drop to that. I seriously doubt it will drop below $225.
That would be a bullish sign - this would mean that the price is sustained by money inflows and not just by the same money trading in circle.

The network has done better than some suspected. Maybe the price will go up soon.
I agree - now it should bounce back on the relief.

Out of short term downtrend Out of long term log downtrend Unusual volume activity near weekly 200 smaI am neutral-bullish and still consider downtrend from ATH went to history. Nice! Regarding the volume activity, IMO is mostly because of people entering Bitstamp again after leaving Bitfinex. Yeah - it is just Bitstamp that has high volumes - but why should people go to stamp from finex?

What is Amagi Metals?
A precious metals dealer. They said that they would stop accepting anything other than BTC in 2016 or so which excited people at the time. yup, from what it sounds like they are another example of a btc company who bought into the "to the moon" hype, and probably was "holding" too many btc for a little too long. They got too far ahead of themselves looking to 2016/17, and didnt see what they needed to do near term. It's too bad because they had great prices on their stuff, less than most online bullion dealers. I don't see why I should care - this is quite different from the MtGox situation.

Now it is 21078 with total size of 55418 (KB) - so it looks like it grows and if that goes on for some time this can become a problem. It was kind of obvious that the backlog will build up and that this will start not at once - but after people figure out how to use the published keys and generate those huge transactions. The only question is how miners will react - if they quickly adjust and just ignore these transactions then this should settle down nicely. And if people start paying any fees - it it would be in the interest of the miners to ignore the huge transactions - because they lose fees from other transactions if they include them. Theoretically it is all very well balanced - but it depends on the miners now and some people can still panic seeing the backlog.

Apparently the coinwallet stress test have been going on since yesterday: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1175321.0 They give out private keys for accounts with huge numbers of inputs counting that someone reading it will generate the huge transactions. Have any of these huge transactions been generated? How is the network coping with them? This could push the price down in a big way - but it looks quiet so far - so maybe the effect will be the opposite - as the network proves robust. Personally I think that the network will survive and the average fees will increase. The gigantic transactions will possibly stay in the backlog for some time, because miners will not have much incentives to put them into the blockchain (and lose fees from other transactions) - but everything else will not be delayed much because miners will not have any problem with other transactions. So yeah - there might be an initial flashcrash because of the uncertainty and doubt - but it should bounce hard once that clears.

Looks like falling daily upper bb was hit.

Now it starts to look like a bullish pennant.
