S3052 is still more popular - as evidenced by the recent sell off immediately after his newsletter was sent.
1042  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [UPDATE] Withdraw Your TradeHill Balance Instantly- BitInstant on: February 18, 2012, 07:05:18 PM
I'll vouch for the guys at TradeHill and say this definitely is NOT another mybitcoin, but they are under a heavy workload right now.
We've just been finalising the process for running these transfers while keeping compliant with all the AML regulations and so on, so while it may seem things are moving slowly i'll personally promise that we are both (BitInstant and TradeHill) working to get you your funds as fast as possible.
Thanks for the info - it is now in a 'Completed' state - I hope it arrives soon.
1043  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin overpriced or needs more publicity? on: February 18, 2012, 10:39:50 AM
chodpadpa reported that the best correlation is between prices at day - 3 (that is price is leading trends by 3 days).  Personally I did not check this.

Correlation between what? That the price today is explained by the price 3 days ago?
Between the prices and google trends.

You are going to make me feel guilty aren't you? Sad

Ok, you've convinced me, I'll send out an updated Elliott Wave count in a little bit

No wave counting this time?
Well - you know - with your nick ...

1047  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have a bad feeling this drop will be much worse than you guys are expecting on: February 17, 2012, 09:02:27 AM
The real question is how much USD is now in bitcoinica coffers?  When will we see the star again?  Are the mini-rallies mostly bitcoinica fuelled or are they MtGox fuelled?
1048  Economy / Speculation / Re: Its called a correction on: February 16, 2012, 09:41:08 PM
if you are talking about the 1 day chart then yes, there seems to be a little wave 4 triangle forming but it could also be a mix of 1s and 2s before a huge gap up. My target of 4.24 was hit so I am all in at the moment and yes I know that it could go down in 'one' more wave...but I don't want to risk not being in here.

you are also welcome regarding the charting compared to S3052. I saw his work and was not impressed given what he is charging. I would charge a fraction of what he is if people are interested.

This is the most convincing chart I've seen so far (even better then the S3052 newsletter) - but I still hesitate on joining back because of the triangle pattern that is now being formed - isn't that a continuation pattern?

You should give me a discount for sparking this idea Wink
1049  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Real Story | What is considered manipulation? on: February 16, 2012, 05:33:17 PM
I assumed that someone with this amount of money would subscribe to the S3052 newsletter.
facepalm
I would not dismiss the impact of the newsletter like that.  The subscription is nothing significant if you trade 300K a month - but many people subscribe to it and I've seen how the market moved just after it was sent.

Anyway - my point was that it was a very contrarian move to try prop the price at that point - but yeah - with 300K maybe it was possible to revert the trend.
1050  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [UPDATE] Withdraw Your TradeHill Balance Instantly- BitInstant on: February 16, 2012, 03:54:07 PM
Are you in contact with TradeHill?  Why they don't process the wire transfer withdrawals?

I am, and according to my knowledge they do!

Mine is 'In Process' since Tuesday:

Feb. 14, 2012, 12:21 a.m.   #33238 Withdrawal of * USD via Wire Transfer (International) to Any International Bank   In Process

And no aswer from their help address.  I really hope this is not another mybitcoin.
1051  Economy / Speculation / Re: myself's secret rocket on: February 16, 2012, 12:37:50 PM
I don't know what it is about these rockets - but they bring lower and lower prices.

1053  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Real Story | What is considered manipulation? on: February 16, 2012, 06:13:43 AM
To be perfectly honest, it's funny to watch the Speculation board after I run transactions on Mt. Gox.  Everyone thinks they know what happened and come up with these crazy ideas as to who is manipulating the market.  I guess that's why it's here.

The truth is, it's nothing more than trading.  We all try to get the best price for our USD/BTC trades.  Why it's called manipulation when I trade thousands at a time vs hundreds I don't know.  Maybe it's the fact that the market really isn't that big and feels like it's being "controlled" by these large transactions.  Should I not trade anymore? If you played with the same volume I do, you'd see that building a "wall" to add support allows you to pick up or sell more coins at a better price.  It's really that simple.

So tell me, is it REALLY manipulation?

So you did not try to prop the price - you were only buying coins?  So you did not believe the signs showing that it is going down and you would be able to buy them cheaper?  Or you just needed them immediately?  I assumed that someone with this amount of money would subscribe to the S3052 newsletter.
1054  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Technical Analysis & other financial markets (bitcoinbullbear.com) on: February 15, 2012, 06:06:29 AM
Again, Elliott wave theory has helped tremendously to anticipate the sell off over the past 48 hours.

Here is the chart posted to subscribers before the break down:

And here is the updated chart afterwards:

We are also announcing a special 3 for 2 winter promotion:

For 9.90 BTC, you will get 3 months of subscription
- for the price of less than 2 normal monthly fees. Just send an email to S3052@gmx.ch and pay by Feb 16, midnight. You will get a dedicated BTC address from us.

So we bounced from 4.21 instead of from 4 and it was at 4.9 - breaking your red line at 4.64 - does that mean that we broke that down trend earlier?
1055  Economy / Speculation / Re: Its called a correction on: February 14, 2012, 08:06:25 PM
It kind of agrees with my initial estimates for about a month and a half of corrections (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=59903.0).
1056  Economy / Speculation / Re: Its called a correction on: February 14, 2012, 06:27:58 PM
rationalize it all you want...the waves don't lie. sentiment towards news changes in regard to what wave up or down you are in. We were in a corrective wave down so this news was perceived as 'more dreadful' then if it occurred during an uptrend wave.

I don't think waves can explain everything - but I agree that they exist.   For example when counting the waves leading to 7.2 we were clearly in the 3rd wave and I was expecting the 5th to go beyond that - but apparently the bitcoinica USD shortages mutilated the 5th wave - that is clearly visible on your chart.
1057  Economy / Speculation / Re: Its called a correction on: February 14, 2012, 03:45:55 PM
posted this a couple of weeks ago: http://imageshack.us/f/688/bitcoinforum.png/

situation now: http://imageshack.us/f/171/69867152.png/

Many here need to learn the basics of investing before they start speculating. A near perfect channel correction is near complete if not finished already. The name of the game is buying when others are fearful...bitcoin is no different than the same dynamics that price out everything in a free market.
This is the most convincing chart I've seen so far (even better then the S3052 newsletter) - but I still hesitate on joining back because of the triangle pattern that is now being formed - isn't that a continuation pattern?
1058  Economy / Speculation / Re: PANIC on: February 14, 2012, 08:42:28 AM
...
bull market ahead! and i know there will be naysayers because that's what PANIC means. but i've already capitulated, so i'm just letting you guys know just how far ahead of the market im trading Tongue

Have a look at the autumn chart and think about how long this panic can take.
1059  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tradehill suspends trading (is one reason for the knife!) on: February 14, 2012, 06:59:33 AM
Soon US citizens will be able to buy bitcoins only on bitmarket.eu (it does not do the transfers).
1060  Economy / Speculation / Re: S3052 and Manipulation Techniques on: February 13, 2012, 09:43:37 AM
Congratulations, S3052.

You're saying that he was the one that caused the price to go so down? I call BS. Here's my reasons for this:

S3052 claims to predict the movements - the congratulations seem quite adequate.
