2901  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bounty managers and newbie bounty hunters on: October 23, 2022, 09:17:59 AM
My assumption is always that most of the bounty spam accounts belong to a small group of people.
Some time ago I talked to one of the team members of one altcoin project that had bounty campaign here and because altcoin was already listed on some solid exchanges there was a lot of interest. After bounty campaign was over they distributed tokens and since they weren't satisfied with the results, he did some blockchain analysis that showed how in reality no more than 10 people grabbed 90% of the tokens, while ~500 people were awarded with tokens. So yeah, its definitely controlled by a small group of people.

As long as they pay in made-up tokens, I'm sure they don't care who spams for them, as long as they get maximum exposure.
That's the thing, they don't get good exposure as all those alt accounts usually follow each other so reach is non existent while I"m sure that bounty managers promise something else.

That will mean the bounty managers will use Newbie accounts for it, so they don't care. Nothing will change, as long as the forum allows it. So I stay away from the bounty spam boards, and when I see their shitposts on other boards, I report them.
From what I noticed, bounty managers usually have their own Telegram groups from where they got all those bounty hunters to join, and joining that group is a must, like for example in this bounty campaign so i don't think that it would be that hard to identify them even if they use alt accounts.

That's the thing: they don't waste money, they share some of the BS tokens they created out of thin air.
Aren't managers usually paid in BTC or some other already listed currency? Well, at least those with some reputation.

Currently, bounty hunters without understanding the value of the project immediately sell the token at a cheap price in the market, so the project becomes a dead project.  In this case, Hundet Persen is responsible for the bounty hunters destroying the project.
Bounty hunters destroying the projects? They usually get tokens when they are completely worthless so if bounty hunters manage so i seriously doubt that.

@yahoo62278 have you ever tried implementing this rule, of no newbies joining the campaign? If not, maybe its worth a try just to see how it will work out and how many participants you would get.

2902  Economy / Speculation / Re: My advice to you regarding bear markets. on: October 21, 2022, 08:26:49 PM
I just want to say to all the members that will read this that a bear market doesn't say anything about your investment. In the long term you are going to reap profits from the coin you have selected, especially if your coin is a well established one with developers with experience and passion for crypto evolvement.
It ain't that simple as it depends in what you invested. Vast majority of coins won't either survive bear market or even again reach the previous all time high, just like it happened previous time. Another thing that people often do is that they hodl for too long and they don't have guts to sell with the loss and instead they end up being bag holders. It doesn't even matter if its "well established with experienced developers" as that won't help them much since they don't have any real utility ( Cardano is good example of that).

Keep accumulating crypto and you will reap the rewards in the future!
Let me fix this for you: keep accumulating bitcoin and you will reap rewards in the future.
2903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mining ban in Europe on: October 21, 2022, 08:14:04 PM

Can this affect the price of bitcoin or is this another anti-mining statement?
It is definitely anti-bitcoin, but I think that all bitcoiners got used to that by now. And no, I don't expect it to affect bitcoin price much in the long term.

If it's only 10% as stated then VERY short term it might matter, but in the long run probably not.
Keep in mind that in that article they count all crypto mining and not just bitcoin so the actual percentage of bitcoin mining is even lower, meaning it would be even less of an impact.

2904  Other / Meta / Re: Ban Appeal For NoorulHuda. on: October 21, 2022, 06:54:09 AM
Irrespective of these members what they have been doing (sh*ting) elsewhere on the forum, but I have seen them in my local board and I vouch for them based on those posts.
Since you said that you vouch for them, would you agree to get your account banned or red tagged in case NoorulHuda gets caught red-handed again? If you are so sure that he is a legit and honest member who just did one mistake that won't happen again. Grin

Happy for naim027 small mistakes intentional or unintentional can be ignored once in a while.
naim027's small mistakes? You must have missed this shitshow in which he was exposed for doing much more than plagiarism and will probably end up being banned once again.
2905  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for IPTV on: October 20, 2022, 09:04:18 PM
I understand you perfectly. $10 is almost same price like cable TV, legal streaming platforms or Netflix costs in my country. So, I'm also not very fascinated about idea to pay such price for illegal IPTV.

I don't know how it is in your country, but over here if you want to watch legally top football leagues, champions league, NBA, F1 and few other sports related channels you would have to spend ~50 dollars per month as all that is scattered across several providers. So yeah, IPTV for 5-6 dollars per month (if you take yearly sub) or even $10 is not such a bad deal anymore.

Most of these IPTV'S for $10 offer something like 10 000 - 15 000 channels, but you really need that much? 90% of these channels will be in language that you won't understand and most likely that you will watch just small % of these channels.

That's probably more of a marketing stunt, IPTV service providers showing off with the huge amount of channels they have to impress potential customers.

I suggest you to look for more localised providers which will cost cheaper. It will have less channels, but these channels will be that you actually need. For example, now I use IPTV which costs $3, have about 2000 channels, and yeah, I'm paying in Bitcoin.
Yeah, localised providers tend to be the best and were the ones I usually used.
2906  Economy / Services / Re: 🔥 Filter (checking) phone numbers Telegram 🔥 on: October 20, 2022, 03:42:10 PM
So if we don't use the real phone numbers for our telegram, then which phone number we use  Huh
This is making me confused.
What I meant is, don't use your main mobile phone number as you usually have to leave ID info in order to get one (at least that became standard practice in here in EU) and instead use virtual mobile phone number service to create Telegram account if you can't get another sim card without giving your ID. Well, at least that's what I did 6 years ago when I got Telegram for the first time. Trust no one, including Telegram.

What do you mean that service is in demand? This service does not seem to be legit and only scammers or hackers may be willing to get this data. What is the use case for this data?
I could see it being used by marketing agencies, spamming their crap to Telegram as well.
2907  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The Binance exchange is not specific about the rebalancing date of its CMC index on: October 20, 2022, 01:57:18 PM
This answer was helpful. I never seem to understand it that way. But with the explanation you gave, I now know that each asset is rebalanced on a monthly basis while the index is quarterly. Thanks, that was helpful.
Np buddy, glad to be of some help but that's just my understanding. Who knows, maybe I got it wrong too so if you want to be 100% sure you can contact Binance or maybe ask in their Telegram group.

I just hope he finds this and gets the answers he expected to get here, as well as a298b112.
Well you can always go over there in the topic where he asked that question and answer him (in case he doesn't use Telegram notification bot).
2908  Other / Meta / Re: I want to advertise on Bitcointalk forums on: October 20, 2022, 07:43:32 AM
Thank you, very valuable info. I will follow these figures to my investors and see if they can allocate the budget. We have spent huge amount of money with agencies to get really poor results atm, so we are changing direction and will do in-house marketing.
If this is the project you are working on at the moment (Metaisland), no surprise that marketing is not having much effect as we are in the middle of bear market and I think that no matter what you do or how much money you pour in, results won't be good. Even if you have top product with an experienced team, its gonna be tough and I am sure that you already know that.

Looking at your ANN thread, I see some suspicious activity by 2 low ranking members that are talking to each other. Did anyone offer you so called "thread bumping" service where bunch of low level accounts write in your topic, giving impression that there's real interest? If yes, just tell them no as its completely useless and a total waste of money.

Generally $80 per member and 20 members i.e. $1600/week will give good results if you hire a smart manager.
I don't think that amount of money will attract quality members, given the current situation where there's more spots in campaigns than there are quality members available.

I came here because I know this forum for a long time.
I don't know how it was around here before 2019, but imho this is not the place (at least not now) where you wanna advertise any sort of altcoin project and even if you go with signature campaign, don't expect much. Thing is, majority of people here are bitcoiners that don't care much about anything altcoin/NFT/Metaverse related or anything else popular at the moment. Don't get me wrong, signature campaigns can be good and effective way to promote your business around here but only if there's a lot of your target audience which I don't think is the case.
2909  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The Binance exchange is not specific about the rebalancing date of its CMC index on: October 20, 2022, 07:10:18 AM

Based on information from two articles from their source, they have not been specific about the date on which they believe each asset in the index is weighted and rebalanced
Each asset is rebalanced on the monthly basis while index itself on the quarterly basis so I am not sure what's the problem here.

Is there anyone care about CMC index either top 10 cryptos or top 200 cryptos?
Loads of newbies use CMC every day to determine what to buy, and where to buy from so I expect this new thing to be popular among them as well. After all, that's their target audience and there's no lack of those.

actually the list on CMC is pointless since they only list based on the highest to lowest marketcap while marketcap is calculated by price and supply, whales can easily manipulate a shitcoin by invest large portion of money to bump the rank into top 200 or top 10.
Even though I don't use CMC (I prefer Coingecko) because there's a lot of manipulation and misinformation going there, they occasionally remove suspicious assets from their top rankings, like they did with that HEX]https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/hex/]HEX shitcoin, that is in top 200 while it should be in top ~15-20 judging by their mcap. On the other hand, Coingecko doesn't even rank those kind of shitcoins so its another reason why I prefer them. Crazy thing about CMC is that it used to be even worse before Binance took them over.

The funny thing here Binance offering "auto invest plan for diversified recurring crypto purchases" while we're know diversify to other cryptocurrencies especially shitcoins is a stupid idea. If you want to diversify, look for other assets e.g. gold, stock etc.
Yep, one of the most popular misconceptions in crypto is that diversification means investing in other shitcoins, like they are not directly dependent on bitcoin.

2910  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: In-Person Bitcoin Exchanges on: October 19, 2022, 04:20:29 PM
My first post here. I've notived a few retail stores in Toronto which pretty much buy/sell your bitcoin in person. Charging a 5% rate.
Has anyone had any experience with these types on in person exchanges?
Yep, I use them occasionally as here in Croatia we can sell/buy bitcoin up to certain amount in physical exchanges with no KYC, and exchange fee is very similar to the one you mention (which is pretty decent and usually better than ATM ) and they are quite popular over here.

I highly suggest to avoid visiting those kinds of places as they are relatively unsafe both for your safety and for your BTCs.

You can sell your BTCs p2p via some local exchange or thru Binance if you really want a secured and guaranteed transaction. While there may be some retail stores selling/buying BTCs, they are generally unsafe due to its unpredictable nature. Go with something that has been proven over the years, which is either use Binance p2p or your local exchange.
I think that you completely misunderstood OP as he wasn't asking whether he should use those type of exchanges and instead he is thinking about opening one.

I know the whole point of crypto is you don't need to be face to face but i am sure there is some opportunity to make some money
There is, but the physical crypto exchanges that I used usually started online and later expanded to physical ones after they grew big enough, or they were standard fiat exchanges that just added crypto part. Another thing to keep in mind is that location matters a lot.
2911  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is Bitstamp still trustworthy? on: October 19, 2022, 02:59:51 PM
I'm honestly not sure who to trust anymore. But what seriously concerns me is that 64% out of a total of 620 reviews are 1 star, much higher than the rest of the categories. And that rings alarm bells inside my head, because no good service should have a majority of bad reviews.
64% of 1 star ratings is nothing compared to Coinbase and its 78% and FTX is not any better with 70% 1 star ratings. Coinbase , FTX and other most popular exchanges have their flaws and problems and I have no doubts that some people got screwed by them, but I don't trust these Trustpilot ratings at all and I don't think that they paint realistic picture. Another thing to keep in mind when checking these pages is that rarely anyone will bother to register and leave review if everything is working smoothly while that's not the case when something is wrong.
2912  Other / Meta / Re: Eliminate ban appeals, but change the perma ban at the same time. on: October 19, 2022, 02:22:01 PM
It would have been a 'middle ground' that would make some people think a bit more. Taking the threats / plagiarized content off the table since I have been here for 8+ years and have a good history I would have to do something EPIC to get a perma ban. And there are more then a few users like me. This way the mods have another tool in their pocket.
Couldn't something more simple like a signature ban (that we already have but is imho underused at the moment) would be a sort of middle ground approach, instead of perma banning or not banning at all? People usually plagiarize because they want to farm merit as fast as possible to achieve higher ranks and join better signature campaigns, so if they can't make money but they continue to be active and helpful members their their case would be revised after some time (lets say 6 months- 1 year) and possibly signature ban lifted.

Regarding eliminating ban appeals part, I like that even less because I would like to see ban appeal process being even more transparent that it currently is, where people don't get any feedback from admins for months or even years. I realize that sometimes no answer is an answer, but how hard is to reply in one of those threads saying " we looked into your appeal once again and an answer is no" or something along those lines.
2913  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin Exchange With Unlimited SWIFT Withdrawal on: October 19, 2022, 02:06:41 PM
Bitstamp is one of the oldest exchanges, but I can't guarantee its reliability after seeing the trustpilot reviews.
I wouldn't put too much trust (to be more precise none) into Trustpilot reviews, both positive and negative as there are so many services that offer fake reviews there.

thinking about it now though, how do millionaires/Billioniers like Michael Saylor, Elon Musk, and the likes buy their many Bitcoins? through the exchange like the rest of us?
Nope, those big players don't use exchanges like majority of us and instead they do it via OTC.

2914  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for IPTV on: October 19, 2022, 07:42:56 AM
$10 monthly is not what I am willing to pay only for an IPTV. Paying 10$ for IPTV is not cheap at least in my country. Better i would stick to my cable TV where i pay 1.75$ a month or maybe use an HD box with it and it cost total 3$ a month.
If you plan to pay IPTV subscription each month, then I don't think that you will find much cheaper service than that. Those IPTV providers usually offer big discount if you are paying for a whole year in advance and then it ends up cheaper. I do know that it is a much bigger risk as service can stop at any time, but all people I know that have one of these illegal IPTVs are using it this way to reduce the cost.

Or maybe i need to find an IPTV service provider in my local city, in order to get some cheap rates.
Cheap and good usually don't go together. What's the point of saving 2 or 3 dollars a month if service will be bad and you won't be able to watch anything on weekends when there's a lot of traffic.
2915  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin Exchange With Unlimited SWIFT Withdrawal on: October 19, 2022, 07:09:31 AM
Is there a reliable Bitcoin exchange with unlimited withdrawals via SWIFT bank transfer?
I am not sure that you will find a reliable exchange that doesn't have any limits at all, but I do know that daily withdrawal limit on Binance for those that went through standard  KYC is $2 million. It can be increased further but for that you have to go through AML.

How reliable is Bitstamp?
Bistamp is pretty reliable exchange. Never tried it myself, but few of my friends are using it for years and I never heard them complaining about it.
2916  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Multiple transaction on Metamask on: October 18, 2022, 07:46:00 PM
Is there any difference is performance between metamask mobile and metamask PC wallet? Security wise.
I assume that any wallet used on mobile phone is less secure than the one on PC simply because people take less care of what they download, on what kind of networks they connect etc. Either way, Metamask should be only used as a hot wallet and not for any longer term hodl.

However, there are some dapps which let you send tokens to different addresses. They are used mainly in airdrops but I can't vouch for any of them
Yep, something like Disperse could be used with Metamask to send multiple transactions at the same time but its limited to only a couple of chains.

Metamask is open-source (not sure if this still true) and no critical vulnerability has been found and there are no reports of security incidents so it's as good as it gets.
Afaik Metamask is not open-source anymore ( I think that changed back in 2020).

This guy is titled "My Precious..."
Damn that looks crazy good and it looks like we have a pro around here. Grin Anyway, kudos for the effort!

Few years ago I tried something relatively similar with bitcoin sign, but doing it from the inside of the pumpkin and it was a major pain in the ass to do it properly without making a hole in the pumpkin so in the end I gave up.
2919  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards on: October 18, 2022, 09:34:11 AM
I mean, there is a way, which is for the votes to be anonymous. But how would we do that here on the forum?
I don't think that it can be both anonymous and abuse free unless theymos somehow gets involved in it (which I doubt he would want)  and as others said it would be less fun that way.

I personally won't vote for those who merit their voters no matter how deserving of the award they are and if I vote before they start doing it I will simply change my vote.

Prije bih se nadao da ce - po obicaju - biti sve vise i vise komplicirano...
Vrlo lako moguce, znajuci kakvi genijalci upravljaju ovom drzavom.
