It doesn't really matter whether Virtual Currencies are identified as a legal tender in the country or not as long as identified and recognized sya as a medium of exchange dito sa bansa it will still be a win for us. Technicalities kasi ang problema dito kaya ginamit ang wording na "medium of exchange" kaysa sa legal tender, pag ka sinabing "legal tender" din ang cryptocurrencies sa bansa mako-contradict nya yung lumang batas natin about Philippine Peso being the one and only legal tender in the Philippines. Ako ok lang akong classified as "asset" ang virtual currency as long as accepted sya as payment wala namang masama dun bukod sa nakasanayan nating termino na "currency" nga ang "cryptocurrency" we just need to accept the classifications of the government.
Yeah, I see the point.

~
This will be a tedious process, wala kasi syang sense of urgency kumpara sa SB 1418 aka Bayanihan to Heal as One Act na parang less than a week na approve na at nagawang batas sa Pilipinas. Bills like this will hang out for years dahil na din related ito sa Banking and Finance madaming departments ang involve and madami din silang dalang disagreements, pero if we have a certain group of politicians na masasabi nating "pro-crypto" sa tingin ko kaya nilang pabilisin yung process lalong-lalo na kung gusto nila isa-batas ito bago pa mabuo yung Crypto Valley of Asia sa Cagayan.

Sa tingin ko it would take a huge push from the business sector bago gawing priority ang pagsasabatas nito.

I was gonna add that closed source wallets will resort to third party audits or other analysis in an attempt to increase their reputation. The representative from coinomi beats me to it.

(b) "Digital asset" means "e-money" and "virtual assets"
(c) "E-money" means a digital representations of fiat currency whose issue is backed by
an equivalent fiat currency. It is an electronic store of monetary value on a technical
device that may be widely used for making payments to entities other than the e-money issuer. The device acts as a prepaid bearer instrument which does not necessarily involve bank accounts in transactions.
(f) "virtual asset" means virtual currency and virtual token.
(k) "virtual currency" means an electronic data unit created on an electronic system or network for the purpose of being used as a medium of exchange for the acquisition of goods, services or any other rights, or the exchange between virtual assets, and shall include any other electronic data units.
(I) "virtual token" means an electronic data unit created on an electronic system or network for the purpose of: (i) specifying the right of a person to participate in an investment in any project or business; (ii) specifying the right of a person to acquire specific goods, specific service, or any specific other right under an agreement between the issuer and the holder, and shall include any other electronic data units of right.

                       - E-money
                       l
                       l
Digital Asset ----l
                       l                       - Virtual Currency
                       l                       l
                       - Virtual Asset -  l
                                               l
                                               - Virtual Token

Parehong Virtual Currency at Virtual Token (Coin and Token) ay makikilang asset sa Pilipinas na pwedeng gamitin as a medium of exchange. Sa depinisyon palang ng pagiging "asset" ng cryptocurrency alam na natin kung saang tax sya papasok and for investments most likely ay capital gains tax ang under dito pero kung isa kang business na tatanggap ng cryptocurrency as payment both capital gains tax at income tax ang magiging obligasyon mo. Sa aking opinyon lang tama na i-lable ng Pilipinas ang mga cryptocurrency as asset bukod sa hindi pagbabago or papakielaman yung lumang batas natin about the Philippine Peso being the only legal tender in the Philippines makakasunod din tayo sa ginagawa ng ibang bansa, recently ang Japan iniba nila yung term na "virtual currency" sa simpleng tawag na "Crypto Asset" dahil baka daw ma-mislead yung publiko nila na ang mga cryptocurrency ay may parehas na value at gamit sa bansa nila.
From the definitions stated in the bill, ang virtual currency at virtual token ay pwede din maging legal tender. "...for the purpose of being used as a medium of exchange for the acquisition of goods, services or any other rights" means it can be used just like fiat currencies (PHP). Technically, fiat currencies/E-money are also assets (current assets) and I think that's why they used the word "asset" for virtual currency/token.

So far, Accounting for cryptographic assets pa lang ang meron tayo which was adopted by SEC. I've already discussed the topic here

~
Pa-alala lang para sa lahat, this is still a Senate Bill ng Senado and nasa 1st reading palang ito ever since September, right now ang if titignan niyo ang contents ng Bill na ito masasabi niyong hilaw pa sya and konti palang ang naco-cover nito considering that the Bill is only 12 pages long madami pa syang kulang na kailangan ilagay.
Kabilang dito ang Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC), Department of Finance, Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA).

3064  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayor Of Las Vegas wants the whole city open, including casinos and stadiums on: April 29, 2020, 02:03:34 PM
This is probably how the mayor thinks of the workers in those establishments:

But the workers are pushing back though. They are not willing to go back to work unless there are stricts measures, to protect their health, in place which I completely agree. The mayor is obviously pressured but her statement that it is up to these establishments to figure how to implement health protocols just worsens the situation.

As we all know that bitcoin was adopted from the black market, does it have to restrain itself from illicit transactions, before it gets to mainstream? The most important rule of the economy of bitcoin is that investment creates liquidity and liquidity creates value. This means the more people invest in bitcoin the better it becomes. So bitcoin will be easier to market the bigger it gets and people will have benefit from it because of how big it has become.

Someone who needs Bitcoin a little bit now will need Bitcoin a lot in the future. People who don’t need Bitcoin at all right now may soon start needing it. And people who already need bitcoins are going to be desperate for it in the future.

Furthermore even as bitcoin gets better other currencies to get worse and the person that uses other coins will not have any other option than to switch over to bitcoin.

Thus, bitcoin doesn't need the appeal of the masses, or we may be wasting our time on people that have zero care about bitcoin. They must be somebody desperately in need of bitcoin, that is the target for now, until the ones above, that careless about bitcoin get desperate too. So we won't run out of people that need bitcoin

The future of bitcoin depends on the black market, a person who needs bitcoin to buy porn and drugs will be more loyal than a person that wants to buy a shoe. This is why bitcoin should not seek regulatory approval. So bitcoin should not see the black market as a bad idea, that is the biggest market for bitcoin. And anybody that wants to get rich out of bitcoin, must embrace the black market.

No reason to seek the approval of bitcoin by the government, because the growth of bitcoin threatens the dollar. So an attack from the government should be expected too. If bitcoin is ever less competitive than the dollar it will die. Otherwise, it will destroy the dollar. Bitcoin investors should be more focused on this because if bitcoin doesn't accomplish this goal they will have to lose it all.

How to Market Bitcoin
Daniel Krawisz
April 26, 2014

How Bitcoin Adoption Works
Does Bitcoin need to be sanitized and separated from its anarchist, black-market roots in order to become acceptable to the general population? Must Bitcoin become an upstanding citizen and saddle itself with KYC requirements and capital controls? Absolutely not! Those making this argument totally misunderstand the way that Bitcoin adoption will proceed and are consequently wrong-headed about how to market it. The most important rule of the economics of Bitcoin is that investment creates liquidity, and liquidity creates value. The more liquid that Bitcoin becomes, the more trade it can absorb, the more it can be used as a medium of exchange, and the easier it will become to profit from a Bitcoin-based service.

There, is that clear? Bitcoin becomes more useful the more people invest in it. This is the key to understanding the economics of Bitcoin. If this insight was understood, then I would not need to write another article.

From a marketing perspective, this means that Bitcoin becomes easier to market the bigger it gets, because the bigger it gets, the more people can benefit from it. Someone who needs Bitcoin a little bit now will need Bitcoin a lot in the future. People who don’t need Bitcoin at all right now may soon start needing it. And people who already need bitcoins are going to be desperate for it in the future.

Furthermore, there is no end to this process. Bitcoin investment necessarily comes at the expense of other currencies, so even as Bitcoin gets better, its competitors get worse. It does not matter how much or how irrationally someone hates Bitcoin; eventually it will become so much more useful than the currency he normally uses that he will have to switch, right up to the day that Paul Krugman demands to be paid in Bitcoin to write another article denouncing it. Bitcoin will force people to love it.

Thus, Bitcoin need never seek mass appeal. To do so is to waste resources on people who are not yet ready for it. There is always someone out there who so obviously needs Bitcoin that it is a no-brainer to get on board. Anyone not desperate can be ignored until they become desperate. There may not be many people like that at any given time, but they will never run out.

Mycelium recently released a commercial called Mycelia in Wonderland which is pretty much my favorite commercial in history. It is so obviously not trying to appeal to normal people. I love everything about it, especially the way that it likens entering the Bitcoin world to a psychedelic experience or going through a portal to another universe, because that’s exactly how I feel. This cartoon is exactly what the Bitcoin world is like. It was great because I was just writing this article when it came out and it was about the most perfect Bitcoin commercial that I could possibly imagine and I almost died laughing.

The Black Market
Mycelium in Wonderland is clearly aimed at people who want to buy drugs, which is good because Bitcoin’s success on the black market is more meaningful and a more significant test of Bitcoin’s viability. The more that Bitcoin handles illicit activity, the better. People need illicit stuff a lot more because the more you tell someone that something he wants is evil or that he doesn’t deserve to have it, the more desperate he is to get it. Someone who wants Bitcoin for drugs or porn will tend to be a more loyal and committed Bitcoin proponent than someone who uses it to buy shoes.

Therefore, Bitcoin should not be shy about the black market. Black market businesses should be seen as potential early adopters. I will be more convinced that Bitcoin’s place is secure when drug cartels start using it than when Amazon.com starts accepting it. Use on the black market does nothing to change the pattern of Bitcoin adoption I described above. The people who most need Bitcoin at each stage of adoption will not care about its association with illicit activity; they will care about how it improves their profits.

There is no reason to treat the black market as something shameful. It is a source of wealth that we all depend on, directly or indirectly. If you love Bitcoin and foresee yourself growing rich off of it, then you should love its black market uses as well. If you cannot bring yourself to embrace the black market, then perhaps Bitcoin is not for you. Every time I hear someone complain about Bitcoin’s black market uses, I feel a twinge of pain. I want only to nurture Bitcoin and I love everything that makes Bitcoin good as an investment, not only that which is considered socially acceptable.

Bitcoin Makes an Offer Nobody Can Refuse
Furthermore, Bitcoin the value proposition cannot be separated from Bitcoin the black market currency. Anything that is good at being money is good on black market and anything that makes Bitcoin less useful on the black market makes it less useful, period. That is because the black market is just the market. Good money doesn’t know the difference between the white and the black market. All of the traditional properties of money that Bitcoin embodies so well—divisibility, portability, fungibility, and scarcity—make no reference to state law.

This is why Bitcoin should not seek regulatory approval: regulation would certainly tend to reduce without any corresponding benefit. Making Bitcoin less useful on the black market would require making it less decentralized, less anonymous, or grant its users less control over their money—yet these are the very features that attract people to it. Bitcoin’s great value is its individualism, which is indivisible, and until the Bitcoin community frankly recognizes this and wholeheartedly strives to nurture both its white and black market uses, then Bitcoin will always be ambivalent about itself and at risk of self-harm.

The solution to Bitcoin’s regulatory issues is simple: ignore the entrepreneurs who are complaining about it. They are just trying to earn dollars. Someone who is trying to earn bitcoins will be much more interested in the long-term future of Bitcoin and would prefer that Bitcoin not seek mainstream approval so as to achieve a more stunning victory later.

No Compromises
It should never be expected that Bitcoin will have approval from government and the banking industry for long. If Bitcoin continues to grow, then eventually Bitcoin will threaten the dollar itself and then a government attack is inevitable. Regulation will only make Bitcoin more vulnerable when that times comes. However, because Bitcoin can resist all regulation no matter how draconian, it has no need to make compromises.

Moreover, Bitcoin cannot compromise without risking its future: because competition between currencies is never stable, a successful free-market currency must be good enough to defeat all the rest. If Bitcoin is ever less competitive than the dollar, it will die. Otherwise, it will destroy the dollar. Thus, there is no way to avoid a confrontation with the US government no matter how many regulations Bitcoin obeys. Bitcoin investors had better be willing to see Bitcoin through to its total victory because if it does not accomplish this, they will lose everything. Anyone who thinks this is impossible might want to sell out now.

Hindi naman siguro rason yung paiba-ibang ip dahil sa case ko gumagamit ako ng vpn at kadalasan iba't-ibang country ips gamit ko pero never encounter any blocking issue.
I'm not saying na yun talaga ang pinaka-dahilan pero posible na isang factor na paghinalaan na ang isang account ay compromised. Hindi natin kabisado kung paano ang flagging system ng coinsph pero let's take into consideration na suspended na siya before kaya baka under monitoring na account niya. With the slightest change sa regular activity, baka flagged na ulit.

3068  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph suspended my account without valid reason on: April 27, 2020, 02:01:54 PM
~ yet they still continue on suspending my account without telling me what i really violated .

all my funds are clean, i earned them from offering graphics services.
now their staffs told me to wait until the quarantine is over then i can get the remaining funds.
I'm not sure if they are inclined to tell you what you violated.

In case you have not violated their TOS, it's possible that they suspected your account to be compromised. Did you log in from a new IP address? With all the phishing attacks on many coinsph users lately, I wouldn't be surprised if they increased their security measures.

Another possible reason is the sudden increase in your deposited funds. You have to understand that coinsph is under the supervision of the BSP and they are required to follow anti-money laundering regulations.

You also have to remember that this is a custodial wallet/exchange and they can always suspend your account anytime they deem necessary. You might as well consider using another wallet like Abra.

Why would people use Bitflate instead of Bitcoin? By having expected inflation, Bitflate would be less volatile.
You are assuming that more people will use Bitflate as a medium of exchange. Inflation/Deflation means nothing if there is no demand. It's price will remain volatile if there are only few people who would trade it.

There is still a chance of infection/contamination but as far as health protocols are concerned (from looking at the images in the article), I think they did well. As mentioned by others, there are only 13 cases so far. There is also no quarantine imposed by their national government and that safety measures were done like disinfectants, social distancing, and wearing of masks (including the audience) during the event.

Ano ang opinyon ninyo dito? on: April 27, 2020, 05:18:27 AM

1. a piece of work, especially a specific task done as part of the routine of one's occupation or for an agreed price:
2. a post of employment; full-time or part-time position:

Kung pagbabasehan natin ang first definition, pasok dyan ang mga bounty at signature campaigns. It's a job kung saan pwede mo din magamit ang mga skills na natutunan mo (i.e. language skills para sa translations at blogging; technical skills para sa mga meaningful posts sa signature campaigns). Pero itama lang natin yung maling notion dito, it's not the forum that is giving you the job kundi yung mga companies na ginagamit din ang forum na ito to market their products.

I see bounty/signature campaigns as similar to other jobs offered in the gig economy.

3073  Economy / Speculation / Re: What this Bitcoin halving bring? Does the Bitcoin price go up or down? on: April 27, 2020, 05:00:21 AM
~ what this Bitcoin halving bring?
What is certain is that block rewards will become 6.25 from the previous 12.5

Does the Bitcoin price go up or down?
This is a matter of speculation and it could go either way. Based on past halvings, price tends to go up but as @mk4 has stated, it still depends on the demand and the supply. There is also the argument that since miner's reward will be reduced by half (from 12.5 to 6.25), it also means they won't be able to sell as much BTC as much as they used to do.

It seems the "Corona effect" is now over as Bitcoin is concerned. The price is now slowly recovering from the crash when COVID-19 was declared as a global pandemic where both "whales" & retail investors cashed out.

Just to clarify SAP =/= SBWS, magkaiba ang target beneficiaries ng dalawang programa.

Scheduled distribution is May 1-31 2020 for tranche 1 & 2. By that time, malamang lahat ng rehiyon ay nasa General Community Quarantine na (hopefully).

(more details)

Quite a huge jump from the first Diaz fight to the second, especially since he lost. I wonder how much Diaz earned for that?
Diaz made around $2 Million except PPVs.

Too many speculations on the McGregor-Diaz 3. There's a huge chance that the fight will happen but I doubt it's going to be on that fight island. Conor wants to get closer to a title shot and I don't think Diaz offers that even if Gaethje loses to Ferguson.

This news shocks me as I woke up this morning Shocked. What an amazing fight card to be honest, it revives my excitement within. Nah! You can forget about the main card because prelims can make us full already Grin. Just kidding. But honestly, I'm excited to see Fabricio back on the cage once again. He is one of my favorite HW champ.
I'm not as excited as the first fight. Both were also unimpressive during their last fights.

Pettis used to be a quick starter and not afraid to throw strikes because of his good ground game while Cerrone is a bit of a slow starter and gets better as the match goes on because of his gas tank.

Cerrone might get the W this time.

I'll probably go with Cerrone as I think he has the better gas tank.

That Two-Up is called "Cara y Cruz" or simply "Kara-Krus" from where I am from. It basically means heads or tails.

It's played in almost every corner of the street. It's also illegal in most (if not all) places but some people from all ages still gamble since it's easy to understand and you can bet with a small amount. It's usually played using two coins but it kind of evolved in some areas and they play it using three coins.

Bitsler adopted this game using three coins and you can play it at https://www.bitsler.com/en/cara-y-cruz
They also came out with a guide for those who are new to the game - How to play the game of Cara y Cruz?

  • Some public transport modes will be allowed to operate at reduced capacity.
  • Higher Education Institutions school year will be allowed to finish the school year anf to give credentials to students.
No commercial flights.
  • Ang ilang industriya ay allowed ng magbukas up to 100% capacity kagaya ng agriculture, fishery & forestry, food manufacturing, food retail, at supermarket.
  • Consider for 100% closure pa din ang ibang establishments kasama ang schools (recommended opening will be as early as September), leisure amusement, gaming, fitness, kid industry at tourism.
