3081  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Cash was no scam. on: October 01, 2021, 12:03:01 PM
Not defending anyone, but a project who uses another successful project's name? Like Bitcoin and then we have Bitcoin Cash? We all know what happens to the latter though, no support from the community and the people behind have been branded as scamming people around because they pretend to be the true Bitcoin?

This might be the case here and that's why investors think that this is just another scam projects that is taking advantage of Litecoin's name.
3082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Lopez vs Kambosos - October 5 on: October 01, 2021, 11:07:37 AM
Triller cannot seem to do anything right. They already had a date and venue agreed upon only to change their minds and delay the fight again without having Kambosos' approval. They have not taken their duty as a promoter seriously and I think Kambosos has every right to want their bid defaulted so that another promoter will take over the event.

I think it has something to do with other fights, like the Alvarez vs Plant.

But yes, I agree, they really made a big mistakes moving the venue, the dates, just shows how the company is handled internally. Hopefully, Kambosos or Triller settled it, fans are excited about this fight because of the hype and the trash talk.

Recently, Lopez issued a statement that he it will be violence in the ring, even predicting that a broken eye socket might happen in this fight, hehehe.

I like that being aggressive of him, I hope it would really happen that they will give a good fight, we know Lopez is good but we can't underestimate Kambosos too because he too is a warrior. This is a battle of two warriors, not only good in trash-talking outside but also good in giving their best in the ring. No pressure for Kambosos but I see the pressure from Lopez here as he was coming from a big win against Loma.

And that's why we are eagerly awaiting for this fight to happen.

They have done their part of trash talking and bad mouthing each other on the press on the social media platform. But it seems that we will see a postponement or worst we won't see the fight this year because of so many issues by Triller themselves. Kambosos is trying to make a name for himself in the US so this fight is also very important for him to win so there is pressure as well.
3083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: October 01, 2021, 10:17:46 AM
It's simple, if Carmelo misses a few bad shots, then automatically, he needs to be replaced by someone. Just a couple of minutes to relax again in the bench.

It's not simple. What if while Carmelo is missing shots, but he is contributing well to other aspects of the game like assist, rebounds, and backcourt plays, is he still be subject to a quick substitution? The rotation is based on originally provided minutes. Even the player is performing well, there are really times that a coach will still choose to bench those guys especially if not part of the solid starting lineup. Lots of bench players that doing good but still ended up mostly on the bench warming the sits.

Vogel needs to space his other players as well, even other coaches might bench someone if he is missing shots specially a player of Carmelo's caliber (no longer in his prime). There are times in Portland last year that he was bench because he is shooting awfully. What more in the Lakers line up wherein there is a lot that can replace him like THT, Malik Monk or Nunn, more younger, more legs and could contribute even more in both are (defense and offense). That's why I said Vogel will not make things complicate that will cause him problems later if he keep Anthony on the court with a bad shooting percentage.
3084  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 01, 2021, 09:30:12 AM
@Kemarit yes, I checked the bookies don't see the result with my bet (this often happens in bookies where I bet, getting longer results for canceled matches or when there are players who walkover), so checked the google I found it that Ivashka walkover.

In other tournaments ATP San Diego, the quarter-final between Rublev vs. Schwartzman could be a tight match, their last meeting was the Laver Cup won by Rublev in 3 sets, very possible 3 sets again.

@Strongkored so if a player walks away does your bookie credit you for winning or they term the bet void, cause I remember seeing on social media about a gambler rant that the bet was declared void when the player walked away, and he felt he should have been paid for winning it.

Also Rublev will have a psychological advantage due to winning their last meet, but he can’t afford to be relaxed in this game, and he’ll have to bring his best game to beat Schwartzman again.

Let me answer that, as per my experienced, usually bookies voided your bet, meaning you will be credited back the amount you put a bet on that match.

Yeah, looking at the ATP San Diego as well, I will have to agree again, this could be a 3 setter, if not Rublev to win by handicap. Usually though, I go bet against Schwartzman, I don't know, but when it seems that he is in a roll suddenly he will play very bad and lose his momentum specially when reaching the quarterfinals.
3085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 30, 2021, 11:18:04 PM
I don't trust him in the Center position, not because he can't play that position but because he is so fragile. One injury will make him sit half the regular season lol.

In today's league status, a Center position is not really taken as a big deal now where everything is making shots on the rainbow area. While Anthony Davis is more of a Power Forward, he can switch gears to a Center position while maintaining plays for his usual Power Forward position. About the supposed injury he might get, regardless of what position he will play, an injury can happen any time.

Anyways, Anthony Davis already make it clear that he will play as a Center and try to adjust: Lakers’ Anthony Davis is ready and willing to play more at center
We will see if this is going to be an effective change and adjustment to them. I'm not fond of watching AD at that position but they know what's best for them.
Let's see if they can make this up and if it's going to be an effective positioning to the team. As he said, if he's willing and ready then at least we've heard it from him that he has prepared for this.

He said that last year… I guess he’s continued to get bigger and stronger, so maybe that’s possible. Personally I think him and Dwight Howard on the court at the same time makes a defensive monster down low. I’m really anxious to see how they fit Carmelo into the game plan. I’m also curious how LeBron is going to handle Carmelo when he misses a few bad shots in a row.

Yeah, him and Dwight in the middle at the same time will be a big wall in the middle. We have seen it during their championship run and it's very effective. And Davis is still hitting his prime, although he has been injured many times, he can still bang and play the center position for the Lakers if needed.

It's simple, if Carmelo misses a few bad shots, then automatically, he needs to be replaced by someone. Just a couple of minutes to relax again in the bench.
3086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Reymart Gaballo (WBC bantamweight) on: September 30, 2021, 03:14:31 PM
I can't seem to find an update on where and when it will happen. Tried to search it but most of the links are 6-8 days ago.
If its mandatory, shouldn't WBC make an announcement already? Because there is no going back in it for it was an order.

Gaballo would not back off in this fight even if Donaire is his idol. Somewhere in the corner of their mind they may have expected they will also fight each other someday.
I was a bit confused about what he said here.
Quote
"I really want to fight my idol Nonito Donaire but it also depends on my boss and WBC. I am a fighter and what I want is to fight and win. That is my mindset," Gaballo said.
Depends on my boss and WBC? But it was already said as mandatory and the article was written September 23rd.
https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/sports/boxing/804340/reymart-gaballo-won-t-step-aside-for-donaire-vs-casimero/story/

Most likely it will happen in December. WBC ordered the mandatory fight, and so the manager of the two fighters will have to agree and sit down about the purse split. And maybe after that we might hear an official announcement from either of their promoters or managers. It is not the WBC that will officially announced it. So we will have to wait for the final date, but definitely this will happen before the much anticipated another all Filipino clash of Donaire and Casimero.
3087  Economy / Speculation / Re: New (old) FUD coming from China? on: September 30, 2021, 02:03:02 PM
Another wave of Bitcoin FUD is coming from China as the Chinese central bank claimed that local state agencies have improved tools to fight against crypto transactions more effectively.

Quote
The Chinese government is getting more serious about cracking down on the cryptocurrency industry as state authorities are bringing forces to combat crypto operations in the country.

The People’s Bank of China (PBoC) officially announced on Friday a set of new measures to fight against crypto adoption in China, including promoting stronger inter-departmental coordination in cracking down crypto activity.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/chinese-regulators-unite-forces-to-crack-down-on-crypto

Can this negatively affect the price of Bitcoin or has the market already reacted to it because it is old news?

In my opinion, the impact of the news of China's central bank banning cryptocurrencies is clearly a negative sentiment for Bitcoin and altcoin prices. Since the news emerged the prices of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Binance Coin, Dogecoin, Polkadot, etc. are back in a downward trend until now. Even Bitcoin had experienced a decline in price to the level of $41k. In fact, before the news, Bitcoin was still in the range of $52k.

But there could be other reasons and not just this supposedly FUD coming from China again.

Bitcoin future expirations usually take the price down every 3rd or 4th week of the month. And for me this is one reason, why we have a sudden crash again to $41k. But after it has been settled, it will recover very fast and then the cycle continues.

So for newbies, don't be dishearten and affected by every news coming from China or the downturn on the last week of every month because of bitcoin future expirations. The market will not go on parabolic rise. We might hit $52k again or even more in October.
3088  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 30, 2021, 10:50:53 AM
Anyone betting on the Sofia tournament?

I'm following Sinner who is defending champion from last year. Hes is playing
Gerasimov tomorrow and is heavy favourite. There are a lot of well known players
competing.
As seeded as well as the defending champion makes him a huge favorite here, and he has a great chance of winning again this year.
Today's match that I think is interesting to follow and choose as a bet is I. Ivashka vs. G. Monfils and I choose over 20.5.

Ivashka is slight favourite I see I have Millman to beat Marchenko and De Minaur
seeded 3 to beat Giron as well as Sinner of course.

There are a lot of matches which are close affairs, another interesting one is Duckworth
who has been fairly decent this season playing Paire who is as we know unpredictable.

I haven't put a bet, but when I check the score, it is very close and the match is still on-going.

@Strongkored - I agree with your prediction, Ivashka vs. G. Monfils could on a 3 set so it could be over at 20.5. Or just 2 sets, but its going to be close, maybe a tie break on the first set and then 6-4 on the second. So let's see odds @1.84.
3089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cripto and Sports on: September 29, 2021, 11:27:44 PM
A number of sports stars were also interested in Crypto lately, such as Tennis Star Naomi Osaka openly interested in Dogecoin. The famous soccer player, Lionel Messi also received a part of his salary in the form of Crypto, namely the PSG Fansclub token. Previously, the NFL star Russel Okung also chose to receive half his salary at Bitcoin.

What do you think ?

There are a lot of sport personalities into crypto as of late, maybe because of the hype. I still remember Bucks Giannis, when someone ask him where he get his money, he said, "Bitcoin".

I think it's good though, nothing wrong with them getting their salary on crypto or investing some part of their money on it. For sure they have realised that crypto is the best investment, although there are big risk, but it's a win-win situation for them. Maybe in the next 5 years we will see majority of athletes asking their salary to be paid in crypto.
3090  Economy / Speculation / Re: El Salvador run or survive? on: September 29, 2021, 11:26:39 AM
El Salvador's action to make Bitcoin legal tender can survive as long as the government keeps the country safe from the high volatility of Bitcoin. They should already be aware of the thing that people would be in a great loss when the times that Bitcoin price dumps a lot. Bitcoin is one of their main currencies from now on in the end and they should be extra careful from now on. There are already many people who are opposing Bitcoin in the country.

How can the government keeps the country from high volatility of bitcoin? No one can control the price movement, not even El Salvador. They can only protect it if they have other investments or reserves such as gold and oil and not totally dependent on bitcoin alone.

At least they have plan B in case we see the market going into a long bearish trend just like what we witnessed last time. The bear market took 3 years before we can finally see a good recovery and eventually bull run.
3091  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant on: September 29, 2021, 10:29:28 AM

Caleb has to be angry so we will see a good fight, this is the last fight of Canelo this year so hopefully, he can finally find a matchup that would give him a real challenge, not the last two fights he beat this year.  He suffered a little cut, that's not a big deal for Caleb, but at least he experienced how strong Canelo is.
That's a dangerous emotion to have, it can help you fuel your desire to win the fight or it can cloud your judgement that you're not able to think straight since you're so full of rage that you're only strategy is to use as much force that equals your rage. Canelo is a good fighter though, hopefully we get to see him deliver a good show.

Yeah, no need to be angry or what, just focus on your goal to win the fight against one of the best we have right now in Canelo. Caleb needs to concentrate and developed a perfect plan on how to defeat Canelo otherwise he will be the next victim and going to be knock out. Although Caleb has a good chin, he was never touch in his previous fight with a power of Canelo. Not sure what the odds are for a Canelo knock out, but if it good and attractive, I might go with it.
3092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: September 29, 2021, 09:42:41 AM
A bit offtopic on the thread but just want to say here that Pacquiao confirms of retiring in boxing world as he ready himself on the PH coming election.

His message from his facebook page.

Now who will be the next legend on PH boxers? Maybe we can expect from MP promotions same like casimero Smiley
That's really funny, I mean he did declare that he will be retiring back when he was defeated by Marquez but that didn't happen and here we are again. I don't get this fool, why take back the word in retirement, even though he was defeated at that time, he's still have a big legacy left behind.

You can't compare the lost of his to Marquez and then declaring that he is retiring. This time, the main reason is that he is running for the Presidency of his country.

So if ever he wins, then it will be a big responsibility and I don't that he can run a country and being a boxer as well.

Nevertheless we will have to see, if he lost, he is still a Senator if I'm not mistaken.

So whoever will be the next Manny Pacquiao from the Philippines, it will be very difficult what he has accomplished.
3093  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 29, 2021, 08:56:05 AM

The thing with Monfils is that he is inconsistent in the last 2-3 years if I'm not mistaken. But during his prime years he was really that good and gave us a good tennis, even with the big 3, Federer, Nadal and Djokovic.

In the finals, it was the top seed that won the tournament, Hurkacz, in the first set it was really very close and I thought that Carreno Busta would have a chance. In the second set, Hurkacz has an early big and that is enough for a 2 set straight win, 7-6, 6-3, and it's under 22.5.

Monfils is a talent but he has never delivered what you would have expected of him. He never won a grandslam or even came close it. He had the bad luck that the big 3 was/is active in the same timeperiod. I still like to watch him as he can still deliver some crazy shots  Grin.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying, against the big 3 and then showing us super and crazy shots, Lol. Those are my memories watching Monfils when he was in his prime. He can give anyone a good and hard match even the big 3.

However, he played in an era wherein Federer, Nadal and Djokovic was so dominant.

Haven't check tennis matches yet, anyone betting on any tournament? Need to scratch this itch,  Grin
3094  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 27, 2021, 01:56:19 AM
In a head-to-head, Monfils has won 3 times whereas Carreno Busta has won 2 times. I think even this time Monfils will win.  Monfils has been on the scene since 2004 compared to Busta starting his career in 2009. So Monfils definitely has the experience needed and though he is aged than Busta, but I feel like he will win. And Murray has left his prime time way before and now maybe he's just playing for fun. I would have liked it if he had won some more tournaments but his time is nearing very fast.
I'm sorry mate, but it seems that you are off with your prediction, in the US Open you said that Djokovic will win against Medvedev, when everyone of us thinking that Medvedev will have a fighting chance. And again, Carreno Busta prevails over Monfils in straight sets.
And as I have predicted, it will be Hurkacz vs Carreno Busta in the finals in this tournament. The odds are very close though, hard to see who will win, but it's better to go for a handicap here, maybe a over will be a good one as this might goes to three sets.

Yes my prediction about the Djokovic vs Medvedev was a bit off and I predicted for Djokovic as he was in insane form throughout the year and no one can deny that, but also Medvedev played very well to counter Djokovic.  And on hard court, Monfils has far better stats compared to Busta. Monfils so far won 300 and lost 148 on hard court and Carreno Busta won 97 and lost 87 as per foretennis.com which means Monfils has a better winning percentage than Busta.

3095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 27, 2021, 01:11:28 AM
If I understand it correctly, the vaccine would only increase your immune system fighting the virus, and these players are fit enough that they can still be healthy even if they got infected. When you are vaccinated, you will still be infected, so I understand their position, but if the rules will be that strict, I don't know how they would end this to serve those who prefer not to get vaccinated.

Local rule, not NBA rule. NBA is following a local rule. Wiggins and Irving won't be able to play at their home games because of that rule.

But on other matches, they can play as other states allowed it. Just unfortunate that teams where Wiggins and Irving is playing mandates vaccine for sports-related activities. I don't know if these 2 will comply. If they don't they will miss half of their team scheduled games.

True, 90% of NBA players are vaccinated as what other media states, and the rest, Wiggins and Irving are being highlighted right now. So if they don't take the vaccinate, they will surely missed half of the game. They can be tested every game and have to check with NBA regarding this close contact. I think for now that will be the solution for this two, however, it will definitely cost them money. So regardless what is their reasons for not taking the vaccine, the decision lies on them. Money lost vs their religious belief or any other reasons.
3096  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your opinion on recent bull market, will it be over soon? on: September 27, 2021, 12:43:43 AM

In any case, we should be ready specially in 2022, if we made profits in 2021 we can take it and then re-evaluate our investment strategy come 2022. There's nothing wrong to have a exit strategy as others have been preaching.

You have any idea or prove to say bitcoin will drop at next year? To my reason nothing is certain about that yet. Bitcoin is taking a new turn since covid-19 chased more people out of work and inside the internet  Grin People have started more investment with that opportunity that looks like opening of eyes and traders getting increased daily. I think price dropping won't be as serious like we speculate for it to go way down. This isn't advise but I'm thinking things may come differently next year against the general thought of fall.

I did not specially say it will drop next year, what I'm trying to emphasize is that we should be ready by 2022. There's nothing wrong to be paranoid specially if this market wherein it's very unstable and volatile. It's not that people started to work inside the internet, is that bitcoin narrative has progress.

So why not be ready for any surprises? Nothing is wrong with that attitude, be prepared for the worst and then adjust on your end. Maybe taking some profits here and there is not that bad.
3097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] JOSHUA vs USYK on: September 26, 2021, 05:55:04 PM

Anthony Joshua let alot of his supporters down including me on the night with the way he boxed. He did not show so much vigor and determination to floor his man. Usyk was the better boxer and the win was well deserved for him. It would have been worse if Joshua had gone on straight to fight Tyson Fury. It would have ended in TKO within round 5 with alot of injuries for Joshua.

Yeah, it was in his hometown and a lot of fans went there to see a Joshua win, not just a win, but a big one like knock out or something. However, he just look so average in that fight, you might look at it as Usyk is the champion because he is the one dictating the tempo of the fight. Joshua didn't adjust, or maybe his corner didn't get him instructions after the first couple of rounds. And with the version of Joshua who just stood around fights the version of Fury who knock out Wilder in the second fight? yeah probably in 5 rounds he will be in the canvass.

Bad news for Andrew Wiggins but good news for the Warriors and its fans.
NBA denies Andrew Wiggins' request for religious exemption from vaccination
Quote
The NBA has denied Andrew Wiggins’ request for a vaccination exemption, leaving the Golden State Warriors swingman ineligible to play home games until he meets San Francisco’s vaccination requirement.
So what would happen now, will he commit a sin to play with the team, or he will give up the team for his faith?
A very tough question, is he going to give up a million dollar deal for the sake of his religious practices?
I don't think that he can refuse this rule as he might bring everyone at risk, he can no longer be accepted to play in any game without taking the shot, he needs to comply in order to continue playing and enjoying the benefits being given to him by GSW.

Actually, this is a dumb decision from  Wiggins. I didn't hear what he stated about not getting vaccinated but why would he not want to take the vaccine? Religion never prevents medical treatment.
Does he not know about the coronavirus & lockdown situation? Also, he won't be able to play unless he gets vaccinated. This would badly impact the Warriors season and I hope his teammate and family will be able to convince him to take the vaccine. All I want to say is a pretty dumb decision from him.

I'm pretty sure that he knows about the virus and the lockdown situation and the bubble last year. But he is playing the religion card here, so what can we do? If he chooses to ignore the NBA then this will be another situation and drama prior to the start of the season. So I would say that this is really a stupid move from Wiggins, this virus knows no boundaries and worst he can be infected and he can be a carrier in the NBA wherein they are trying to clear and be back to "normal".
3099  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your opinion on recent bull market, will it be over soon? on: September 26, 2021, 04:23:49 PM
Oh well, that's crypto's life cycle, it usually happens in a 4 year cycle, but who knows, maybe the cycle will change as bitcoin's narrative also evolved, so we might see 2 huge cycle that ends in 2020 and then another cycle 2021-???.

In any case, we should be ready specially in 2022, if we made profits in 2021 we can take it and then re-evaluate our investment strategy come 2022. There's nothing wrong to have a exit strategy as others have been preaching.

-snip-
And as I have predicted, it will be Hurkacz vs Carreno Busta in the finals in this tournament. The odds are very close though, hard to see who will win, but it's better to go for a handicap here, maybe a over will be a good one as this might goes to three sets.
You're predictions going true, but I did not place a bet on the semifinal match yesterday because I bet on another tournament.
True, 3 sets is very possible and this time I placed 2 bets on over and ML for Hurkacz hope it goes well.

I check the odds for ML, it is close, both getting a @1.89 odds, so it means still 50/50.

So I agree that the better bet should be the over as this might extend to a full 3 sets because they are the top seeds in the tournament. But the over is @1.94 and under @1.81, just so confusing as the punters might think this will just go in 2 sets with that odds on the under. I will go with Busta to win, I have a feeling that he will go and upset Hurkacz.
