2101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 'Luna'cy: the crash of Terra Luna on: June 10, 2022, 11:04:05 PM
It is quite absurd how investors and traders will just jump at the prospect of new coin circulating the market. It's quite unfortunate how this newly issued token( Luna) promptly plunges over the weekend with a knee jerk reaction.
The volume of Luna 2.0 dropped about 66% in a day as tokens worth over $130 million exchanged hands before it experienced an upsurge.
Terra's revival plan was to deliver new Luna tokens to holders of the project's now vastly depreciated UST stable coin and also to hodlers of existing tokens.
According to coinmarketcap data, this tokens were issued at $17.8 and sped up to $19.53 on May 28th. But unsurprisingly enough, as at May 30th, barely 48hrs later, it nosedived over 70%.
  https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.coindesk.com/learn/the-fall-of-terra-a-timeline-of-the-meteoric-rise-and-crash-of-ust-and-luna/&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwi9mKnaxpb4AhUhgs4BHV6hCbwQFnoECAkQAg&usg=AOvVaw01QhOFYYX1A9ExSwY_DpT3

I think whales got a quick pump & dump. I doubt that Do Kwon would be so crazy that he would burn his project in the first days. I think the owner has bigger plans and he will scam investors in Luna 2 for a lot more money, but that will happen in some time.

Well those opportunist individuals find their way on Luna 2.0 to pump and dump them and then exited on time. And up to this day, the price is still on a free fall, meaning investors have lost their confidence on it and they can't recovered their stature prior to the collapse.

So it's just a question on investors, whether they want to continue and invest and take the risk or not? Personally, I wouldn't reinvest, the risk is too high specially that we are in a bear market. It's hard to see how can we recover our lost money in Luna this way.
2102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA Finals 2022 - Warriors vs Celtics. on: June 10, 2022, 10:32:28 PM
^^ Celtics is showing their defense in this series, limiting the Warriors offense in the 4th quarter. So there is no question about how good their defense, is how they are going to sustain it specially in game 4 wherein the Warriors wants to come back and make it 2-2.

And it was reported that Curry will still play despite having some injury, but there are a lot of Warriors that can cover Curry like Klay Thompson, who I think wanted to have a good game in this series as we haven't seen him score like 30+ and have a good shooting night.
2103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 30% of billionaires directly or indirectly invest in cryptocurrencies on: June 10, 2022, 10:14:17 PM
I guess this is the reason why they become billionaires in the first place, because they know how to diversify and continue to make wealth by investing on crypto which we all know will be the biggest thing in the future.

And I will not be surprised if this numbers continue to rise, as more and more billionaires will see as another options to hedge their wealth or at least make crypto a store of value, to preserved the value of their money and fight inflation. Very wise decision and hopefully, we should learn from them as well.
2104  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin scenario crashing to $20.000 - $23.000 on: June 10, 2022, 01:57:46 PM
I guess it just validated what we have been discussing since we enter the bear market, we haven't seen the final capitulation and the price could really go down that deep, reaching as low as the previous all time high of $19k in 2017.

So I'm not surprised with this prediction, it's just a matter of when we are going to hit it. And as a investors what will our reactions, for one we should take advantage of the discounted price and fill our bags.
2105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 10, 2022, 12:52:17 PM
Tsitsipas tomorrow will play against Murray. For sure it's a good match to follow we will see good tennis.
I think that Murray could be easily defeated by the greek player...but generally speaking I think this is the kind of match that could provide some surprise and hard to be guessed. (maybe it will be decided in 3 sets?)
What is your opinion for that match?

Tsitsipas is the big favorite to win it, but maybe Murray can indeed take away one set. We will never see the old Murray again, his movements on the court are limited to his injuries, but it is still quite early in the tournament, so I can see Murray winning 1 set.

I think Murray has a chance. No doubt he would have seen Rune despatch Tsitsipas at
Roland Garros and fancy his chances. On the other hand though Tsitsipas will have
learned a lot from that game and will for sure be wary of Murray's abilities eventhough
he has lesser speed and agility he still posses his shot making skills. Should be interesting.
Tsitsipas is not really that good on grass while Murray was one of the best in his prime. I wouldn't be surprised even of Murray wins this match. My bet is on Murray +4.5 for that added bit of security. Now I just hope he will serve first  Grin

Should be nice match to watch and I plan on doing just that. These are two players that will get us many betting opportunities in grass season so always good to actually see them play.

Yes, Tsitsipas is more of a clay court specialist that's why in the first half of the year, he really plays very good. So it might be good to bet on the handicap for Murray here. Maybe he will still have some in his gas tank to surprised us all if he pull a upset.

The odd for Andy ML is 2.22, very attractive for those who love to bet on the underdog.

Fucsovics vs Krygios could also be a entertaining match. I'm taking Nick -2.5 handicap.

And thats something I rarely do, is bet on the underdog. Going on Murray with a +4.5
is 1.25 odds as per Trofo. I have enough in my wallet to have one more bet before I
load it up again so I'm going with Medvedev to beat Ivashka @ 1.2, I think/hope
thats safer.

I would love to see Murray beating Tsitsipas, he deserves it and deserves to get into
the finals of this and other tournaments.

I think the +4.5 is a safe bet for Murray, but the odds are not that very attractive. But if it's a sure win, then why not?

I'm not going to load up on this tournament though, not that I don't like it. But currently I have to replenish first my wallet with crypto. But maybe, once we reach the finals and depending who is going to face each other, maybe I will put some bets. But best of luck to you guys.
2106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots is More Likely to Cause Gambling Problem on: June 10, 2022, 12:13:32 PM
Slots machine is addicting because it's easy to play, people love it, of course you could make money on it easily if you are lucky. People love to earn big amount of money in an easy way, that's why slots is one the games that could be the key to make wealth overnight. However, most of the population of slots players are losing too much money because they can't stop, unless they hit the jackpot already, maybe they will stop for a while and enjoy their fortune.

Yes, it was design to be very easy, no need to learn, just press the button and off you go. But the bad news is that it is a luck base game, so chances are very slim and yet more people are addicted to it because of the huge windfall they can get once lady luck is on their side, and many of us are willing to take that risk.

Gambling addiction is a very serious disease that should be treated right away before it's too late. It's sad because most of them don't want to be help, since they don't admit that they are addicted in the first place.

That's the key, gambling addicts should admit it first before they can be treated. And I would agree that slots are one game that can really make a person be a addict and have a gambling problem.
2107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's up with Litecoin and Korea on: June 09, 2022, 10:31:06 PM
The question is, why Litecoin Foundation chooses this path?

For sure they know the repercussions of their act, that they will be delisted even if their intention is not to be a privacy based coins, but still the risk is there?

There are a lot of questions here, unfortunately, expect that they might suffer a price fall because of this implementation and subsequent delisting from known exchanges.
2108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 19 on: June 09, 2022, 10:07:46 PM
Ryan's promoter, Golden Boy, won't choose Fortuna if they are not seeing advantage to their boxer. Remember, Golden Boy is grooming Garcia so for now, it seems they are cherry picking their opponents. But Fortuna, is not to be considered as weak opponent. If he is well-prepared on this one, he can easily beat Garcia. Both should be in their training grounds to prepare for this fight.

What advantage? I think advantage is not the right term for that, for me, it's more of a chances. Ryan Garcia's camp wouldn't pick
Javier Fortuna for nothing and that is because their boy, Garcia, have more chances fighting the latter than Isaac "Pitbul" Cruz. They are indeed grooming and preparing Garcia to get big fights soon with the names like Kambosos or Tank Davis, they surely won't want Garcia to have his first defeat if a fight is not that big.

Yes, Golden Boy wanted to have Garcia fight a not so good boxers to make him more confident, after all this is just his second fight and I would say, still recovering from his mental breakdown. So it's an approach that we don't like because they are matching him with a no name fighter who just come out from a lost. So their chances to win or Ryan chances are good and once they think Ryan has mentally recovered, maybe the dangerous Isaac Cruz and then the big guns in the division.
2109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: June 09, 2022, 09:45:55 PM
In terms of speed Inoue will lose but his left Hook will clearly be a problem considering in this case he has the advantage because Donaire is not used to holding back left-handed boxers.
But on the other hand, when doing this, there will also be a bit of trouble for Inoue because if you look at Donaire's determination and fast movement and his accurate punches, this will obviously be a hassle for Inoue.

Are you late in the news? Donaire got demolished by Inoue and because of the performance of Donaire they said it was a scripted fight. I cant blame the watchers since Donaire was like performing that he didnt trained for the fight. He barely threw heavy punches, I guess the early punch to his temple got him and effected everything.

I was left behind and forgot the date due to a lot of work in the real world and only saw reruns there.
I'm quite surprised how Impressive Inoue looks like this and Donaire can't do much there.
Inoue's left hook is truly one of those fearsome weapons now and indeed with this weapon he actually managed to win the rematch and managed to add the WBC bantamweight title to his WBA and IBF.
He wont be called a "Monster" for nothing and he do able to beat up some famous and strong boxers despite for people on looking down on him and now this kid is undefeated and almost of his wins are all KO's

which does indicate that his punches were no joke. This kid does really have that good technicality on which we do see some faint jabs now which is something that we could only see in anime

for those well executed kind of movement but now he had really proved out that it could really be a good weap on taking advantage against players.

He really carried that monicker, as the "Monster" because of his power behind those punches. And it's now being magnified after knocking out one of the legends in boxing. And then send signals to other bantamweights and even to the next weight class although that power will have to be check if he can carry it to the next level or not. I guess life imitating art here, we all know that there are Japanese anime about sports, i.e basketball boxing and others and maybe there will be future Japanese character similar to Inoue,  Grin
We know that Japan does have different sport-based kind of anime which same as you said that there would really be a time that he might really be projected out. Haha.
Power of Inoue on the current class or weight is something that might be effective or relevant on higher division and its true that this one do really make out some noise.
I wont be surprised that this kid will really be that famous and even more great on his career if he could sustain out this kind of fighting and this
kid does really have that capability on taking out big guys.

We all know already that he has the power, but now he is more faster and his punch are really that firm. But I would agree that it has to be tested on the higher weight class. Just maybe he will carry it but if he is not a natural featherweight, maybe he will encounter boxers that can withstand his power.

Anyhow, I'm not familiar with Japanese anime, but I'm sure he is a hero in Japan now, him and his brother both won in this fight and could be the next big Japanese superstar. But they should conquer the US and fight there.
2110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 09, 2022, 01:21:14 PM
Zverev is out for sure and I don't think Wimbledon will buckle up and ler Russians play.

Is there anywhere I can bet on Medvedev winning it? The odds on that should be huge now and I still feel that they will eventually allow them to play.
If they do - Medvedev would be one of the favorites for sure. But the odds at that point wouldn't really be high.

Wherever I looked - Medvedev isn't an option to bet. Which is logical of course, but I am for sure not the only one looking to gamble on this with bigger risk at higher odds?

Anyway - if someone finds it, please let me know.

Yeah, that's why I mentioned Medvedev, but if he is not allowed to play then there's not much we can do.

All I can see is the outright for him at the US Open, he is the second favorite to win behind Djokovic, Alcaraz is the 3rd.

But then again, with the whole war looming behind and sports now being involved, we will have to see if Medvedev will play or not, hopefully though he will.
2111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you educate petty traders in adopting Bitcoin? on: June 09, 2022, 11:55:59 AM
Can you be more specific on what you mean by "petty traders"?

If you meant traders that trade forex/stocks/crypto/etc, is there anything you can do? They most likely started trading to hopefully create an income source. Telling them to buy/hold/use bitcoin (especially without much capital) wouldn't give them that.

The petty traders I meant are  hawker stall, street vendors, street hawkers, market men and women, kiosks that do daily trading often.

Might be hard though, I mean these people are always on the street and try to make money. And maybe they will have a false vision or hope when they see that bitcoin might be way out of their current life. Yeah, maybe teach them what is bitcoin but also put a caveat that it's not a get rich quick scheme. Another question is where will they get their money if they are willing to invest (risk) on it. For sure this are hard earn money from sweat and tears.
2112  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bear market every team will pump their own coin on: June 08, 2022, 10:32:13 PM
Bear market what is might coming if fed really really decide to cut off big money dollars if they do so.
If they have enough money to pump what's the harm, for every coin they create, which is the problem right now they always rely on investors to do it, the evidence has happened to Luna coins, in fact they can't afford to resurrect Luna coins again, instead creating new ones, reasons for not having funds.

Most of them founders and teams, the coin hopes to profit from the bear market and head for the fortress market, they really can't afford to pump it, for that, trade and invest in coins that are really the team/founder who is responsible for any incident that occurs to the coin, That's why it's 2022, if you do something about coins, choose one that investors and the market really trust, like Bitcoin, Binance and Ethereum.

I think it will spell disaster for us if the feds are going to raise the hike again. However, with or without them, bear market is unavoidable, it's going to eventually happen in a market that is cyclic. And with that, if we have seen what the bear market can be, (definitely, it's very hard for us, seeing our portfolio going down by the day, weeks and months) but for some, they could spin this to a very positive way - that is buy and accumulate should be the rule in this bear market. And then HODL and wait for the right time to sell and make revenues.
2113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 08, 2022, 10:09:43 PM
This Wimbledon will really look like the best opportunity in recent times for an outsider to claim the title. Medvedev and Zverev are out, Nadal is doubtful, Đoković is not really in his top form.

He will still be my 1st contender for the title, but I can see somebody from the shadows taking this. Čilić maybe? He's a dark horse for sure.

It can be an interesting year for Wimbledom but Djokovic has by far the best chance to win it, so the odds for him to win will probably not so high. Cilic is in form this year, given his run at Roland Garros, but I doubt that he will win it. He hasn't really been consistent enough the last couple of years!

It will still be Djokovic in both US and Wimbledon as the favorite. Nadal might not enter in both tournaments though specially if his foot bothers him.

Not sure about Cilic as well, hmm, I'm thinking Medvedev or a healthy Zverev can give Djokovic a problem? Djokovic competitive spirit though might have woken again seeing Nadal raising the GS trophy one more time. He will get back for sure and wanted a GS this year.
2114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season - Finals on: June 08, 2022, 09:50:53 PM
3rd quarter Warriors.  Wink
Big win for them and the adjustment was perfect. They shut down Smart, White, and Horford. That's what they want to happen and they didn't mess up tonight. Steph Curry doing most of the damage and then Jordan Poole, while Klay Thompson is still missing in the picture.
Now, how will the Celtics adjust? A big question for everyone. They haven't won a 3rd quarter which is one of the crucial parts of the game. They must find a way to put an end to that.

Yeah that was a nice run to push it from single digits to almost up 30.  Didn't think this one would be close given the drive of not going down 2-0 to go on the road.  I think game 3 will be real crucial to the series.  Can gs steal one in Boston to get the home court advantage back?

There are a team that is known to explode in the 3rd and then protect it in the 4th. Maybe just a slip up in the first game. So with this kind of games from the Warriors, they are going to be hard to contend by any team. They did a good job on Steph but collapsing on him, and yet he find a way to score and make a good pass to his team mates. I think it's possible that GSW can steal at least 1 game in Boston. They are capable so we will see in next game, and take that back and make the score 2-1 for them.

There's a high chance that GSW can still 1 or 2 game on Boston since they are still consistent in their play even on game 1. Boston just got a very lucky game on game 1 that's why they manage comeback in 4th quarter but if we watch again the game 1, We can see that GSW is still consistent in their play even in 4th quarter since they manage to answer back at some part but the unstoppable 3 point shot is very hard to counter. But I will still bet on Boston with a handicap because I still believe that they can repeat what they did in game 1.

Yes, that's also possible,  either games, the Warriors has the chance to steal games at the road. They have done it all throughout in the playoff series, so this is not a unfamiliar territory for them. That's why the Celtics can't just relax at home, they have to play strong in the first and then the fourth quarter at those are very crucial. Good luck on your bet on Boston, they are the favorite right now in game 3, and it's going to be very exciting game that's for sure. I haven't decided yet who to bet, maybe over and under for me this game.
2115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will countries ban Bitcoin mining due to environmental concerns? on: June 08, 2022, 12:24:02 PM
Do you think countries worldwide will ban Bitcoin mining due to environmental concerns? If not, why? If mining is banned, do you think Bitcoin will switch to PoS? Will it still survive being a PoW cryptocurrency? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley

No, I don't think that countries will immediately jump on banning bitcoin just because some organizations saying that it harms the environment.

I'm also not convince that it needs to switch to PoS. And it will survived being the only PoW crypto, after all its the prime mover so I'm not sure what will make people not to invest despite this bad publicity. Banks as well is contributing and should be considered as environment concerns.

I would like to congratulate Rafael Nadal with a brilliant record 14 wins at Roland Garros and 22 titles at Grand Slam tournaments! To be honest, I had some doubts about his victory this year, given his health problems in recent weeks, but after Nadal dealt with Djokovic in the quarterfinals, it became clear that Rafael is capable of winning the entire tournament. There were certain rumors before the final that Nadal might announce his retirement after this match, but Rafa clearly showed after the match that he would still try to continue to please the audience with his performances.

Absolutely crazy how tough he is on clay.  I'm not a huge tennis fan but watch the big matches.  Don't know if I've ever seen someone dominate a particular court like Raffy does at the French open.  Easy money every year when this tourny comes around 😉
excpet for last year when Djokovic won it Grin Nadal is a phenomenon on clay courts and especially in Rolland Garros, now he has 22 Grand slams which is a crazy number and 14 of them were in france, i saw the odds of Nadal to win it at 4.44 but i didn't bet on him and i regret it, even Alcaraz was  @2.89, he won Australian open before this year too, Nadal is one of the best athletes right now and he's 36, that's the right time to say that age is just a number.

It's a good odds for those who have put a bet on him as an outright winner in RG. And I agree that he was not the favorite in the beginning, but when Alcaraz was eliminated and then he beat Djokovic, Nadal's path is very easy. And I would say that this is one of the those one sided finals we have seen in RG in recent years. Even in the ladies side, Swiatek had a dominant win. Let's wee how is foot is, post game interview, he said that he there are numbness so he might take sometime to rest his body.
2118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel when the market is downtrend? on: June 06, 2022, 12:43:48 AM
How do you feel when the bear market is happening and do you hate it?. Every time a bearmarket happens, I always have valuable lessons that the bull market doesn't have. So always be grateful when the market goes down, it gives us many lessons, lessons about emotions, lessons about capital management, trust and patience.
There's not much that can be done. As for feelings, it will obviously make you feel more stressed and certainly hope to return to a profitable position soon. It's simple, for people who have more spare money can buy more for long term profit. Meanwhile, for people who no longer have finances that can be used when the market is down like this, waiting is the solution.

the approach in the market deviates from one person to another because it depends on their financial capability as well as goals with their funds. as we know that a declining market is a very good opportunity to collect more, that is, if you have long-term plans with your coins. because definitely, the market is not always at the bottom, it will always go up at some point.
but for short-term plans, you need to be very cautious on where you are spending money because a lot of alts won't give you the target profits you want. most of the time, you will incur loss if you missed the exit point for the coin.

Yes, but maybe we can generalized things in a bear market: It's the right time to accumulate, used DCA or any method that will work for you to buy those cheap bitcoin because this opportunity may not come again.

And then it's up to the individual, of course if you are not financially stable then you have to prioritized things like putting food in the table first because investing what's left for you. And if you are going to invest, calculate the risk and you also have to mitigate things, have a back up plan.
2119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 'Luna'cy: the crash of Terra Luna on: June 05, 2022, 09:55:34 PM
I don't get why there are still people who believe in Terra, the whole project is dead with absolutely zero chances of recovery. My guess is that those who are still onboard don't have anything else to lose and simply hope that one day, they'd be able to recoup some of their losses. Some others simply try to take the gamble, trying to take advantage of the high volatility, in an attempt to achieve a higher yield.

I agree, and it's because investors are still gullible and thinks that they can recover what they have lost. Luna 2.0 will be worst than the first one, and even they say that they are going to burn billons, it won't solve the issue that there is no money flowing and that it won't e pegged 1:1 to US dollar.

It sucks big time, I never expected such a downturn, with billions of dollars going down the drain. I managed to exit at an early state, before it got too bad and minimised my losses.

No one expected it to fall like that, but maybe just Do Kwon and some of his executives. They are still under investigation in South Korea the last time I read  and at least the investigation will last up to the 3rd week of June. So we will see what will be the outcome.
2120  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bearish market continues? on: June 05, 2022, 09:33:09 PM
^^ By now you should know that we are indeed in the bear market we down more than 50% from our last all time high. As much as we don't like it to happen or see it again, it will have to come unfortunately. And based on our last experience, the price could still go down further as many believed that we haven't reach the bottom yet (including me). They are looking at around $20k at least as the last point wherein investors are going to sell and has been pressured to sell by the declining situation. And again, it we look at bitcoin's bear market and the subsequent returns, it might take years again for a healthy market.
