... He maybe won't be forced to get vaccinated but it will affect the team's performance as he has to sit in home games according to the report. https://www.forbes.com/sites/tommybeer/2021/09/23/warriors-wiggins-reportedly-wont-get-vaccinated-and-so-may-miss-all-home-nba-games/?sh=68cafee024aeGolden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins, the team’s second-leading scorer last season, has remained steadfast in his refusal to get vaccinated, according to multiple published reports, a decision that could have a significant impact on the Warriors team, as unvaccinated players could be forced to sit out home games due to local vaccine-related regulations.
He is putting the GSW season at risk of losing games because without him, they will not be complete, so his decision could be detrimental to the team. That is the difficult part. Do you know why NBA rejected Wiggins request? Was he caught lying about the religious reason? The reason is still unclear to me. I also don't understand Wiggins asking for an exemption and insisting until now when he clearly said he may get a shot when he's forced to do so. The NBA isn't saying it directly but they are actually forcing him to be vaccinated. It's because of the safety protocols being put into place by the NBA since last year. There are several players being caught violating this protocols and have been suspended or fine if I'm not mistaken. So Wiggins case this is a violation of NBA protocols. Yes, it's a subtle way for NBA to tell Wiggins to get vaccinated or else he can't play, simply as that. Well, he has no choice, he is in the NBA to play and make money and he has to get vaccinated if he wants to play. I'm just curious, what is the religion of Wiggins? as honestly, I don't know any religion that prohibits its people to get vaccinated.

I don't know if he doesn't want to get vaccinated because of his religious values or something. I hardly know any religion that would prevent doing so. Also, you have to see the stats, non-vaccinated people are getting affected by COVID more than vaccinated people. And I will also respect the Warriors' decision if they make him sit out for games until he gets vaccinated because surely they won't want their other player to be infected by him right? Hope he will change his mind.

Bad news for Andrew Wiggins but good news for the Warriors and its fans. NBA denies Andrew Wiggins' request for religious exemption from vaccinationThe NBA has denied Andrew Wiggins’ request for a vaccination exemption, leaving the Golden State Warriors swingman ineligible to play home games until he meets San Francisco’s vaccination requirement. So what would happen now, will he commit a sin to play with the team, or he will give up the team for his faith? A very tough question, is he going to give up a million dollar deal for the sake of his religious practices? I don't think that he can refuse this rule as he might bring everyone at risk, he can no longer be accepted to play in any game without taking the shot, he needs to comply in order to continue playing and enjoying the benefits being given to him by GSW.
What I hope for Simmons is to comeback stronger, of course with the different team. So, he could have his revenge after a lot of criticism in Philly. Simmons is a great player, low shooting percentage was his only issue. I know he can work it out especially in this trying times for him this could be a good motivation to improve his game in the next team he's playing. D*mn, I just love seeing players getting their revenge after being roughly criticized.
He's a good player and watching those videos spreading through social media where he's playing alongside with other stars, It seems that he's taking long-range shots and trying to improve his confidence. Simmons is a good player and still young, everything still learnable and if he goes to focus, who knows how good he might turn after the hard work to work things out.

Does he not know about the coronavirus & lockdown situation? Also, he won't be able to play unless he gets vaccinated. This would badly impact the Warriors season and I hope his teammate and family will be able to convince him to take the vaccine. All I want to say is a pretty dumb decision from him.

If he chooses to ignore the NBA then this will be another situation and drama prior to the start of the season. So I would say that this is really a stupid move from Wiggins, this virus knows no boundaries and worst he can be infected and he can be a carrier in the NBA wherein they are trying to clear and be back to "normal".

And with Wiggins refusal to get vaccinated, he has given the Warriors every reason to trade him for Ben Simmons? That scenario is not that far, however, Sixers will not inherit the problem so everything now is up to Wiggins. Not a good choice to refuse because he will obviously loss his multi dollar salary and this could be a breach of contract. His agent better convince him before the start of the new season which if I'm not mistaken is less than a month from now.

You cannot make these kinds of decisions in these crucial deadly times. I feel that he should be penalized for this type of conduct. He is both risking his, his teammates, and his organization's matches and health in jeopardy. This cannot happen. Otherwise, he gets vaccinated, the Warriors won't play him from what I'm understanding and that will hamper their gameplay every week. He has been a very consistent SF for the Warriors by scoring about 19 points a game and getting 5 rebounds a game last season. Not to forget about the 2.4 assists he provided on average per game. Let's see what decisions the management takes after this.

The players union has gotten involved and said no to a vaccine mandate. This situation could get a lot bigger than people think very quickly. Right now Wiggins and Irving are taking the heat, but I’m sure there are dozens if not hundreds of other NBA players who aren’t vaccinated and don’t plan to be. Considering they have likely a 0% risk of dying from covid, I understand their position. I wouldn’t take it either. Common sense is starting to prevail and people have had enough. Even the democrats are getting sick of this level of sought control.

If I understand it correctly, the vaccine would only increase your immune system fighting the virus, and these players are fit enough that they can still be healthy even if they got infected. When you are vaccinated, you will still be infected, so I understand their position, but if the rules will be that strict, I don't know how they would end this to serve those who prefer not to get vaccinated.

I do not see Simmons get out of this and become a better player. Dude has been in the league for years now and still fears shooting threes, in an era where everyone is taking threes. His teammate, Joel Embiid is a big big center, dude is huge, and he takes more threes than Ben Simmons.
I doubt that he would suddenly change his mind and start shooting after he is traded. Don't get me wrong you do not have to shoot threes to be a great player, not like Giannis takes awful lot of threes however you need to have the confidence enough to shoot threes if you are given super empty shots by the other team, other teams literally do not even cover him, or at least start playing PF and a little bit more inside instead of starting from out and trying to get in. His defense is great but his offense became nothing like people expected and his lack of even trying to shoot shows how he is not even willing to improve himself.

This is San Francisco's requirement, and I doubt that they will change it. However, I think that testing unvaccinated players before every game could be a solution in this situation. By the way, I also heard that if Wiggins is not fully vaccinated within the next 20 days, then he won't even be able to work out at Chase Center.

Local rule, not NBA rule. NBA is following a local rule. Wiggins and Irving won't be able to play at their home games because of that rule. But on other matches, they can play as other states allowed it. Just unfortunate that teams where Wiggins and Irving is playing mandates vaccine for sports-related activities. I don't know if these 2 will comply. If they don't they will miss half of their team scheduled games.

Well, he has no choice, he is in the NBA to play and make money and he has to get vaccinated if he wants to play.
I'm just curious, what is the religion of Wiggins? as honestly, I don't know any religion that prohibits its people to get vaccinated.
NBA already cleared that it's not about the religion. But regardless, Wiggins should know that there will be something like this that will happen when he joined the league that even he disagree with something, he needs to comply. It's the job they take. Not just him, but I doubt all people the same with his religion are not having the same thinking and possibly, got vaccinated now.

True, 90% of NBA players are vaccinated as what other media states, and the rest, Wiggins and Irving are being highlighted right now. So if they don't take the vaccinate, they will surely missed half of the game. They can be tested every game and have to check with NBA regarding this close contact. I think for now that will be the solution for this two, however, it will definitely cost them money. So regardless what is their reasons for not taking the vaccine, the decision lies on them. Money lost vs their religious belief or any other reasons.

I am kind of intrigued too. I know some religions do have rules with blood transfusion but I haven't heard about needles and putting liquid in their body. Besides, that needle will be thrown afterward, it's a one-time usage.
I think Wiggins cannot provide the right reasoning to be exempted in this vaccination process that is why his claim was denied. Maybe if he could stretch the information, put in details why or show what is in their Bible then management may find a way to make it work in a different method.

I don't know if this is really plausible for Simmons. I believe if he stays in Philadelphia 76ers, he can improve in his future, not only Simmons, but Joel Embiid as well. They are young and still have a great growth potential in the future.

I don't know if this is really plausible for Simmons. I believe if he stays in Philadelphia 76ers, he can improve in his future, not only Simmons, but Joel Embiid as well. They are young and still have a great growth potential in the future. Why are we still hoping that he will stay with the 76ers? Simmons and his team do not have a good relationship anymore, he ended it for not coming to the practice and he doesn't want his team to contact him, it only tells that the guy wants out, that's final.

I don't know if I wasted my time reading the article or is it really educational? https://sports.yahoo.com/nba-anti-vaccine-theory-issues-coronavirus-covid19-pandemic-kyrie-irving-jonathan-isaac-025316932.htmlBrooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving — who has a past filled with conspiracy theories — has reportedly been liking social media posts regarding “secret societies” that are “implanting vaccines in a plot to connect Black people to a master computer for ‘a plan of Satan. But this guy is taking the initiative. “If a guy’s not getting vaccinated because of his religion, I feel like we’re in a time where the religion and science has to go together,” Kanter said, via Rolling Stone. “I’ve talked to a lot of religious guys, I’m like, ‘It saves people’s lives, so what is more important than that?'” That's Enes Kanter, a Muslim and I know Muslims have a strong religious belief and they abide by it with full discipline. Do we have any Muslim brothers here who can enlighten us about the rules on vaccinations or anything near it? Is it okay as long as there is no blood related issues or as long as it is for necessity and can save more lives?

Vaccines were not created before, while the teaching that the Muslims have come from the past centuries, or the time that God become human on earth, so I don't think it should be against the religion getting vaccinated. Not a historian though, I'm also not a Muslim but that is my opinion but that's the simple logic I understood.
