DirecTV

DirectTV 1 Year Service Code - $25.00 [Premier / Ultimate Package / Sports / Movies in HD][Watch from PC or Tablet]

This has tv channels right?

and do i already need a account with them?

Read the posts above, yes it has TV channels, no you don't need to have a DirecTV Subscription

Is there just a select few, or all channels thats in your package?

I have all the 100's, 200's, 300's (HBO Movies + All movies) Some 400's.. NHL Package, MLB PAckage, NBA NFL etc etc International

im not threadcrapping and i'm not accusing the OP, but why are these prices so much lower than retail? can it be that stolen credit cards are used to buy certificates?

I obtain these codes through promotions and bulk orders, so I benefit, I make a couple of dollars profit, not enough to retire, unfortunately.

why wouldn't you sell these on ebay? for example, the netflix code can sell for $50 there. just doing my due diligence.

I do also sell on eBay since I'm a new user, I'm restriced to how much I can sell per month Smiley But thanks for your Input! I'm looking to gain rep as well so want to establish customers. Also you can see, many people sell these types of codes on here.

yeah, thanks for not going hostile.. i have no idea whether this is legitimate stuff or not. i'm not saying it is, but i'm not saying it isn't.

alright, thanks.. that makes some more sense to me then.
3166  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is at $650... says who? on: December 23, 2013, 04:38:31 AM
i understand that it's supply and demand, but how do they computate the exchange rates? is it an algorithm? is it an average?
3167  Other / Politics & Society / Re: State of Vermont ( Single Payer Healthcare ) puts Obamacare to shame!! on: December 23, 2013, 01:37:09 AM
don't anarchists hate this idea? single payer systems means the healthcare industry becomes centralized. non-profit health providers means governments are controlling the system.
3168  Other / Off-topic / Re: Happy Birthday Federal Reserve on: December 23, 2013, 01:34:28 AM
rather than just food, i prefer renewable resources. that'll last you much longer. i am also starting to see the need for a gun, though i really don't want to own one.

what is trippy is that government has bought up most of the ammunition supply. do they know what is coming ahead? they should be able to see the writing on the wall; after all, they are the ones who wrote it.
3169  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Obama says Snowden’s actions have “done unnecessary damage” on: December 23, 2013, 01:32:28 AM
it doesn't seem like hilary clinton is any better than him. she appears to prefer the status quo, so no voting for her. she'll probably be more effective than obama has been though. that man is the best at running campiagn, and not so great at being president.

the nervous energy that one builds up over the rise and fall of bitcoin is not conducive to a healthy lifestyle. you feel miserable when you are afraid of losing a large portion of your wealth; the only solution is to become more zen-like, or to unload the amount of capital you have in bitcoin.

it's amazing how some people could get burned time after time, yet they never learn.. and persist to commit the same mistakes they've made. i'm probably naturally gullible so i had to learn how to question everything.
I try to look at everything as a scam, until it's confirmed it isn't. Saves you from some trouble, that's for sure.

i think that then becomes a problem too. being neutral is probably the best, but i often tend to look at things as scams as well. being that cynical does have purposes, but it just makes you a much more negative thinker.

for example, i briefly told my uncle what bitcoin was.. and before gathering up enough information, he told me that it was a scam because "nothing could grow by that much." it's almost as if he lives in a bubble, and before making decisions.. he doesn't consider all of the pertinent facts.

when it comes to protecting yourself from scams/scam artists?

for me, i was 19.. and i was lured in by the charm of a snake oil salesman. he had a lot of charm and charisma, so i bought the "from rags to riches story." as it turned out, i ended up losing $450 (which is a lot to a 19 year old) and quickly learned what a pyramid scheme was.

over the years, i have had to learn how to ask questions to protect myself.
3175  Other / Off-topic / Re: My friend has had some really bad luck... on: December 22, 2013, 09:36:49 PM
Yet another sob story. People never learn that begging never brings anything around here.

Sometimes people do donate to these, but it's normally small amounts or happens more often with other alt coins. Some people are just naive and feel bad, and some people just want to help. From the perspective of beggars, what have they go to lose? They either get some free coins or they don't.
I guess so. Not that they have their dignity of some sort, right? Grin

So I guess the default reaction to anything like this is that it is a made up story looking for free coins? I guess I should have anticipated this, because I'm sure there are lots of people who would do that...

I guess I should just delete this thread, it was a stupid idea. Oh well, I only had good intentions with it.

I really hope we get to the stage where this sort of thing just doesn't happen - I have no idea how we would achieve this, but I am hopeful that we'll get there. The only other thing I can think of is some way of insuring deposits, which I imagine would be very difficult to set up and would involve all sorts of regulation.

i don't mean to poop on you or your thread, but any reasonable person would choose to NOT donate to you.. your story may be true, but there are way too many scammers out there to believe a story without substantial evidence. and to add to that, there are many stories of people who "need" money. way more than the generous BTC populous can handle.
3176  Other / Off-topic / Re: My friend has had some really bad luck... on: December 22, 2013, 08:57:53 PM
apology for what? all you asked for is a donation right? i've seen much worse.
3177  Other / Off-topic / Re: My friend has had some really bad luck... on: December 22, 2013, 08:51:15 PM
if i were dying of cancer, i wouldn't even bother to ask for BTC donations. kind of strange, as some people here have set the bar much much lower than most of us. i don't expect someone to have so much compassion for my plight that i'd ask for free money, but to each his own.
3178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we know that Bitcoin won't be regulated? on: December 22, 2013, 08:49:05 PM
Is it possible that Bitcoin will be regulated? And if it will be, then how would we know Huh I have heard stories, speculating that if someone holds 51% of the total amount of BTC they will have kind of a monopoly position and can make or break the coin alltogether. Is this true?

It is nearly impossible for anyone to "hold" 51% of all bitcoins and if they did it would mean little.  It would cost 100s of trillions of dollars to buy 51%.

What you may have been referring to is a 51% attack:
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Weaknesses#Attacker_has_a_lot_of_computing_power

the market cap is currently around 10 billion.. how would it cost hundreds of trilions to buy up 51% of the coins?

Only a small part of the coins is actually being traded. You can't go anywhere near 51% by just buying up all the exchanges and as soon as you start buying on and off exchanges, people will start asking more and more for their coins. Slippage.

hundreds of millions is 10 x 10 x 10 x 10 the value of what BTC is worth today. i dont' know exactly how the math would add up if one entity were to buy them all, but that would be 10,000 the value of the cap today.

if you were to factor in the bitcoins lost, that number would likely be something like 5 million bitcoins to own half.. very unlikely, but then again, there is a lot of parity and one address (satoshis') holds 1.5 million coins itself.
3179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why switching to mBTC won't increase Bitcoin price. on: December 22, 2013, 08:44:00 PM
i don't know if it was to drive up the price, but i didn't think it would do so.. as others have said here, it was to make the appearance of 1 unit of bitcoin to seem closer to what $1 is. paying 5 mBTC for your meal is much easier to understand than .05 mBTC. whole units are easier to understand than fractional ones.
OOPS

5 mBTC = 0.005 BTC

well i guess that just proves my point  Wink

didn't think that over, forgot that an mBTC is one thousandth of a bitcoin.
3180  Other / Off-topic / Re: My friend has had some really bad luck... on: December 22, 2013, 08:39:56 PM
if you really want to help him, you should post a video of him. if you don't put a face to a story, less people will relate to his situation.

i won't be donating, especially since this is a story with little to no backing.. and i'm not even rich myself. there are plenty of other cases worth donating for too.
