maybe we could have some sort of competition, where people try to tear each other up.. in pursuit of the one bitcoin as the spoils.  Tongue

let the flame wars begin!

sometimes it seems like gay people are just looking for any excuse to bitch. and that makes them bitches.
2225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your dream gift?(I might get one for you) on: May 15, 2014, 07:43:53 PM

I don't want anything bought with a probably stolen bitcoin.

Don't worry BTCat, it's not stolen at all, I'm trying to think of an item to give away and I need help. I'm managing a giveaway that's being created by a site that I work with.

giftcard purchased with BTC maybe? or maybe an e-shopping spree through tigerdirect?

There's an idea

yeah, but to be honest, buying tech gear is something quite common for most people. it seems like you want to buy something that isn't so common.

My sons friend was.  He passed away at the age of 19. He was a member on here I think as readyeddy or level10wizard or something like that.  He had purchased a few thousand bitcoins when they were valued between .03 cents to .25 cents. Great kid. He will be missed.

Life makes you a millionaire then kills you off. What a heartless bitch life can be sometimes. Sad times.

While I haven't been around the block for that long on this planet I know that I wouldn't blow through my money on crack and hookers with I became a massively wealthy. I'd probably just fund some world wide Bitcoin scavenger hunts around the world or something lol. I manage my money just fine and don't get into credit card debt or blow all my money on the latest smartphones and overpriced wireless plans. Others around my age I cannot say the same of. Spending money on all sorts of wasteful things like tablets, laptops, video game stuff and what all.

i'd probably be the same. i wouldn't blow ALL my money on crack and hookers, just a fair amount. but i do think that young people nowadays are being taught to just "live it up" and worry about the consequences later. we see it all over celebrity culture, and more and more, we see people just wanting to be celebrities.

if i were in westeros, i'd totally be oberyn's friend and have massive orgies.. but then again, oberyn would probably want to explore my bunghole, so probably not.
2229  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: lool just when i was starting to love bitcoins on: May 15, 2014, 06:56:42 PM
it's important to know how to safely store your assets before even buying the bitcoins itself. i don't know how you could be comfortable with knowing that your bitcoin is sitting in only one location; nothing in life is guaranteed.
2230  Other / Off-topic / Re: Favourite Game of Thrones character? on: May 15, 2014, 06:49:49 PM
Probably Davos

Selmy
Aemon
Ned
Tywin (Tv show only)

Basically the older characters.

was Tywin character in books different with TV series?
still don't read the books

I read them and IMO Tywin's role is played really good, very similar to how he was described in the book.
The only thing I don't like about the series is that they sometimes misplace the characters.
For example in the first season Aria was a servant of Tywin in Harrenhal, while in the book, the castle was occupied by the Boltons, and she served Roose. In the book the guy that cut off Jaime's hand died in Harrenhal, in TV series he's hired to go to the wall and kill Jon.

the tv show and the book are not the same thing.. you can't get pedantic about it. the tv show is its own thing. otherwise, you'd be one of those "i read the book first" snobs.
The first season was like an adaptation, the scenes appeared in the exact same order as in the book, that's why I was a bit shocked when they started screwing with the story.

i personally think it's a good thing, even if you read the book. it throws you off guard and prevents the story from getting too predictable or boring.

i wonder how this seismic shift in the vatican's message has changed their politics? sounds too complicated for me to understand though.

low level criminals make me laugh.. at least until they are successful at tricking gullible people.
2233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: who are the youngest bitcoin millionaires? on: May 15, 2014, 06:16:58 PM
The stories of young bitcoin millionaires might be fun and exciting if they are true.
In reality, people who are actually rich might be smart to keep quiet (for better security), and people willing to claim they have great riches could be embellishing their status just to get attention.

yeah, it'd be a good idea to keep quiet.. unless you are a high profile person who doesn't mind the reputation to help you gain influence... guys like the winklevi bros.
2234  Other / Off-topic / Re: Please support Vietnam! on: May 15, 2014, 06:15:18 PM
Could You write more about it? Because right now I doubt anyone knows what do You mean

china is basically trying to take land/resources from all of its neighboring countries.. mainly because, due to economic growth and influence, they are able to. they are at quarrels with vietnam, japan, the philippines, and probably other countries.

so we need to support these countries but how can we support with singing in with this Smiley  op needs to explain properly

i don't really know.. but he could just be posting this shit to sell shirts and make money. after all, everything is determined by money.

sometimes i feel like there are some other people who live in a completely different reality from mine. it's like they are living in their own egocentric, deluded world where they and their ideas are at the center of everything.
2236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Glenn Beck calls bitcoin Edison's light bulb! on: May 15, 2014, 06:06:44 PM
Just because Glenn Beck is a Mormon and you find him dishonest or whatever, I wouldn't  judge (insert your religion here) just on your behavior.. I know good mormons, bad ones, good catholics, bad ones, etc, etc.. you get the point....

And he is an entertainer. He is very different in person than on tv or on the radio..

sure, but that doesn't change the fact that mormons are kookier thank normal kooky religious. they run their religion more like a business than most other ones. they knock on your door, try to convert you, and then ask you to tithe.
2237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ebay - the first tech giant to accept Bitcoin? on: May 15, 2014, 06:01:58 PM
are there any sites like ebay with feedback and stuff that use only bitcoins?

if there are, i bet ebay would spend lots of money to prevent it from growing.. either that, or ebay will buy it out. they tried to force craigslist to sell their website to them.

Glenn Beck is heard by many people, but most forget one thing.  He's not a political analyst, lobbyist, or former high ranking government official.  He's an entertainer.  Nothing more.

more like he's an entertainer who reverberates the voices of billionaires, politicians, or lobbyists... so he does play a role.

It is like 'History repeats itself because nobody listens' and 'History repeats itself because the world doesn't learn' and soon we will all learn our lesson. I am afraid our next war won't be with Russia or China. It will be war with our own governments. Something needs to be done about how we are exploited by our governments and financial systems in today's world.

we are the many, we are the muted. i doubt anything's going to really happen in our favor. the money and influence are just too much for commonfolk to overcome. at this point, all we can do is wait for an economic collapse and a modern day "dark age." maybe we'll come out better after that.. but until then, we are helpless.
