i don't really trust that bitcoin will make any positive changes to society. there's just too much money and "opportunity" for the bad people to use it the wrong way. look at the bitcoin foundation, for example.
2242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Evan Faggart's take on the Bitcoin Foundation on: May 15, 2014, 05:31:32 PM
i did some reading up on these guys, and was quite surprised to find out that this boy-butthole-raper is part of bryan singer's pedo ring. well, that's um.. news.

i hope he gets J.A. buffalo'd in jail.. but then he'd probably like it. bryan singer would probably ask to be in the same cell as him.
2243  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Activity levels on: May 15, 2014, 05:26:43 PM
you need about 14 posts every 2 weeks (1 point per day) to get the max activity level btw. i think if you stop posting, you somehow still get activity points.. though not as much (at least i think i did).
2244  Other / Politics & Society / Re: David Cameron: Taxes will rise unless we can raid bank accounts on: May 15, 2014, 05:22:20 PM
someone should really send david cameron a copy of the book "1984." i think i might despise him more than i do piers morgan.
2245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Glenn Beck calls bitcoin Edison's light bulb! on: May 15, 2014, 05:20:35 PM
“I’m thinking about killing Michael Moore, and I’m wondering if I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it. No, I think I could. I think he could be looking me in the eye, you know, and I could just be choking the life out. Is this wrong? I stopped wearing my What Would Jesus — band — Do, and I’ve lost all sense of right and wrong now.”– May 17, 2005

That ^ is entertainment.

it's funny because you could easily replace "michael moore" with "glenn beck." there's just something about his face, in addition to the batshit crazy stuff he says, that makes me want to punch it. he's like this fat troll who realizes that saying trollish shit makes him wealthy, so he does it.. and it's on hyperdrive.
2246  Other / Off-topic / Re: Favourite Game of Thrones character? on: May 15, 2014, 05:14:22 PM
Probably Davos

Selmy
Aemon
Ned
Tywin (Tv show only)

Basically the older characters.

was Tywin character in books different with TV series?
still don't read the books

I read them and IMO Tywin's role is played really good, very similar to how he was described in the book.
The only thing I don't like about the series is that they sometimes misplace the characters.
For example in the first season Aria was a servant of Tywin in Harrenhal, while in the book, the castle was occupied by the Boltons, and she served Roose. In the book the guy that cut off Jaime's hand died in Harrenhal, in TV series he's hired to go to the wall and kill Jon.

the tv show and the book are not the same thing.. you can't get pedantic about it. the tv show is its own thing. otherwise, you'd be one of those "i read the book first" snobs.
2247  Other / Off-topic / Re: OMFG! GOOGLE DRIVER LESS CAR! on: May 15, 2014, 05:13:04 PM
the more there are driverless cars by google, the more likely there is to be an accident.. and once that happens, if someone gets badly injured, google is totally going to get slapped with a lawsuit.
2248  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why is everyone so gullible? on: May 15, 2014, 05:07:10 PM
it's really easy to look back AFTER the effect, finding some flaws in people, and then point the finger at them.. isn't it? but then again, the people who put up with mtgox's shit WERE pretty gullible.. maybe they were just too lazy to find a different platform to trade on.
2249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your dream gift?(I might get one for you) on: May 15, 2014, 05:05:27 PM
not really a "dream" gift, but i'd like me a nice ultrabook.. or a fleshlight, which i've never used. actually, nah i don't need a fleshlight.. the maintenance is too much trouble.
2250  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 'Lift the skirt’ campaign urges French schoolboys to skip trousers for a day on: May 15, 2014, 05:04:12 PM
i don't know how society is in france, so maybe they do expect their boys to dress up in skirts. then again, the people there don't really seem all that docile... seems like they like to protest. wasn't there a lot of protest against same-sex marriage over there?
2251  Other / Off-topic / Re: NBA Playoffs - Which team are you rooting for? on: May 15, 2014, 08:08:31 AM
Heat. I'm a fan of wade

eh, i don't like his game much. i've never been a fan of it, and imo my opinion about his is starting to prove true. he's a 1 dimensional player who isn't able to do anything except penetrate. he's 32 and his shooting is no better today than it was 10 years ago. it might be too late for him to build any sort of skillset outside penetrating. he's old now, so speed is no longer something he can rely on. by the time he's 35, he'll probably be something like a 10PPG guy.

2253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Evan Faggart's take on the Bitcoin Foundation on: May 15, 2014, 06:28:28 AM
Faggart?

You'd think he'd change his name.

it sounds like yogurt for a fag.. naturally, it would be pink in color  Cheesy

btw, i've looked up bitcoin foundation's wiki, and i still don't know wtf they actually do. can someone educate me?
2254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Evan Faggart's take on the Bitcoin Foundation on: May 15, 2014, 06:12:13 AM
any kind of centralization is going to invite misuse of power/authority for the benefit for the few members in power. when you can get away without playing by fair rules, someone's going to do it.

2255  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin enters the $25B yearly Philippine remittance market on: May 15, 2014, 05:50:10 AM
for whatever reason, it sure seems difficult to get money remitted to the philippines.

and 25B is quite a bit of money.. if the average non-tbc remittance fee were 3%, that'd still be almost $1b they would save in fees.
2256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Glenn Beck calls bitcoin Edison's light bulb! on: May 15, 2014, 05:44:55 AM
I saw him speak live once.  He gets the reputation as a lunatic, but he's a very amiable sort of guy in person.

-bm

he has a reputation for being a lunatic because.. well, he just acts like one. here's a list of the craziest things he's said

2257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Glenn Beck calls bitcoin Edison's light bulb! on: May 15, 2014, 04:36:49 AM
okay, i'm pretty sure glenn beck has some bitcoins as well as some of his friends. he's the kind of guy to pump it if he has something to gain from it; he is just political theater. i hope bitcoiners don't fall in love with him just because he's pushing bitcoins.

you know, i like jesse ventura.. even if he does seem a bit looney, a lot of the things he says makes sense. he totally schooled piers morgan, and actually won his crowd over during an interview on CNN  Cheesy

One of my favorite videos. Right here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VS5IX3TNpFw

Look at his opening statement. “Since the government shut down, that should mean we shouldn't have to pay any taxes, right?”

That was classic.

piers morgan is such a pawn, an apologist for the status quo.. any time he says anything, he just says "you're crazy," instead of arguing the point. the best part of the interview was when jesse asked his audience whether they thought HE was right, or piers was.. and piers' own audience turned their back on him.
2259  Other / Politics & Society / Re: European Parliament election, 2014 on: May 15, 2014, 04:31:10 AM
the U.S. military industrial complex is not going to stop. it's too profitable for the wealthy who have a stake in it, and those people are making enough money to pay off the people in washington. it's crazy how much money the republicans want to pump into "defense" which is a euphemism for "economic hegemony and expansion."
