341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Donald Trump sells $2.4 million worth of ETH on: January 29, 2024, 01:36:00 AM
Well, that is indeed a personal opinion of Donald Trump, not the government of the United States Of America. Therefore, we must not panic at all or be worried.
As stated in OP, it just royalty which will valid as they uses the name of Donald Trump, if that is their decision to sell the royalty proceeds, so be it.
342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jamie Dimon-JP Morgan CEO "Satoshi will come back and erase bitcoin" on: January 29, 2024, 01:31:49 AM
Omg, this is the sign again. I remember when Jamie Dimon talked negatively about Bitcoin and that was when the rally upward of Bitcoin started, it's kinda typically doing FUD to people so they can buy more cheap Bitcoins. Well, a typical whale move.
343  Other / Off-topic / Re: Having a regular/steady income is important as a gambler. on: January 29, 2024, 01:28:19 AM
(....)
Having a steady and regular income is very important as a gambler because it would enable you to scrap out money you should use for gambling, feeding, taking care of yourself and family and other miscellaneous.
That's why I do not believe in some people who do gambling for a living, like fulltime gamblers and that's their only source to feed their family, well, that's my personal opinion because I know some, and some of them are my friends and they only rely to gambling profits, no other source of income, I can say they are really struggiling.
344  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Share Your Thoughts on the Recent Crypto Price Drop on: January 28, 2024, 02:41:13 AM
During the last week the crypto world has been quite a ride with the price slump we've experienced. With Bitcoin and altcoins taking a notable dip on the 23rd, I'm curious to hear how everyone is coping and how it affected your investments and what your strategies are moving forward considering the upcoming halving.
(....)
I'm neutral, I know, and positive that the recent dump was just a correction, we must appreciate the pump recently and then we should be ready for a pullback, it is just not every day Christmas.
I just don't panic at all because I already experienced these multiple times.
345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why ETH, USDT, BNB, SOL and XRP have the highest market capture? on: January 28, 2024, 02:38:42 AM
It just means that people are using them, the volume speaks for itself. Trading volume also, TVL, number of transactions, etc.
Because if a project really trash it will not stay on top for the long time because we already have lot of projects these days and the competition is getting hotter and hotter.
346  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Trading Strategies for Newcomers: Pointers and Suggestions on: January 28, 2024, 02:33:42 AM

How do you manage risk prudently? Would you rather use stop-loss orders, risk percentages based on account balance or perhaps another approach?

I will answer this based on my preference:
I have a strict risk: reward ratio for every trade I do.
For example, I am willing to risk 5% - 10% of my current portfolio balance for every trade and besides that, I have to stop the loss based on my risk: reward ratio, like 2 for example. Then I  will stick to that, I will set a stop loss then a price target, and I must be patience.
347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Prepare for the Next Dip before the Real Bull. on: January 28, 2024, 02:18:28 AM
We all don't know. No one knows what will happen next. All you can see is pure speculation, that's their own opinion.
My own opinion right now that causes these recent dump is the ETF approval, where some are already dumping because a lot of anticipated we will go for mega pump because of approval.
People anticipated a lot from Bitcoin Spot ETF applications and believed those applications will be approved by SEC, which actually happened. Because of massive anticipation, price already soared a lot in four latest months in 2023.

Now, it makes sense to have correction, even big correction after four consecutive green months and just three months before Bitcoin halving in April 2024.

This correction so far is still smaller than what I believe it should be.

Bitcoin historical corrections from all time highs. They are corrections from all time highs but you can find similar big corrections from peaks.
Nice, now where are the people who told to buy the next dip after the ETF approval or people saying that they will buy once Bitcoin dip?
We fell below $40,000 recently and now we are back above $40,000. Could be that the dip already we are talking about here before the real bull run?
348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the best ETH L2 network? on: January 28, 2024, 02:16:26 AM
The second layer aims to solve problems that cannot be implemented on the main network, such as scalability to millions of transactions every second, or fees close to zero, or a privacy layer, or anything whose implementation is limited in the main network, such as merging more than one blockchain/token in the same blockchain, such as Wrapped. These are the main reasons. To use the second networks. Some people invest in the second layer because some features may lead to an increase in the price, so these tokens are viewed as a good investment.

The only downside is that you need to pay a high on-chain fee each time you want to get in or out of the L2 network. I guess that's what's holding most people back. Believe me, you wouldn't want to use the main ETH blockchain again after experiencing the benefits of an L2 network. I've used the Base network myself and the results were impressive. Only paid $0.08 for swapping ETH to USDC on Uniswap with Base. Transfers between accounts are usually less than $0.01 too.

Imagine how cheaper it will be to get into an L2 network once ETH developers go full speed ahead with the Danksharding upgrade. It'll cause an upsurge in demand for the cryptocurrency. Exciting times ahead for ETH. I'd suggest you keep buying and holding it for the next "pump". It may never be worth $2.5k ever again. Cheesy
I agree, last part, Ethereum will be the most beneficial because of these layer-2 networks.
Another tip I can say that avoid some ecosystem tokens in some layer-2 networks, I can say holding the layer-2 token itself than other ecosystem tokens is much better for me, just my 2 cents.
349  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the difference between crypto trading and traditional stock trading on: January 28, 2024, 02:12:37 AM
I think crypto trading involves digital assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum while traditional stock trading involves owning shares of companies listed on the stock exchange.
Yeah but when you do trade stocks, you are also owning digitally, which is stored in a database telling you owned x amount of y stocks.
So if you do that in a centralized trading exchange in cryptocurrency, it's the same also, you are also trading digitally.

350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple looking for ETF, would it be the second one? on: January 28, 2024, 02:08:47 AM
With all that happened recently in XRP, like some regulations issue. I don't think they will get ETF approval as soon as possible.
For me, if they will get approved, for sure it will be in the future, there are other altcoins that is worth to get ETF approval first before this XRP.
351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's in Store for Crypto in the Coming Months? on: January 28, 2024, 02:05:11 AM
(....)

Share your thoughts on where things may be headed and what you expect to see unfold in the coming months in the crypto industry. The markets are highly unpredictable, but with so much activity in the blockchain and digital asset space, the coming months look to be full of developments that will shape the future of the industry. Let us know your take on this...
The only big things I am expecting in Bitcoin in the coming months is Bitcoin block halving and the ETF.

As we all know, we always experiencing a high price pumps on Bitcoin starting months before the Bitcoin block halving. So for me, I can say it has already started last year and what we are experiencing right now are just pullbacks before Bitcoin will continue to rise and add the ETF approval also.
352  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbie traders, work on yourself. on: January 28, 2024, 02:00:59 AM
So the earlier every newbie interested trader understands that the period  he/she could use to seriously learn how to trade no matter how short the period could be in acquiring the right ideas/knowledge about trading to make you selfreliance, you'll be exhuming yourself from days to years of reliance on signals that not even have the potent to making you profit compared to that which comes  directly out of your own self-made analytical work.
Common mistakes of those newbies in trading are being hyped and excited about the profit they are seeing when they see advertising or influencers that are flexing their earnings from trading. They think it is easy as that without knowing that those influencers or ads don't show the hardship or grey part of trading. Trading has a lot of chances of losing money depending on how competent and skilled you are. Trading is a continuous learning and trial and error. If you can't handle the thought of losing money, then it can't be sure that you can survive in this industry.
(...)
I can relate and most newbies will also. Because of social media platforms, a lot of people taking advantage it, and some newbies are expecting too much because also by them, they are luring these people just to sign up under their referral link and some are using fake accounts or screenshots just to show they are profitable.
353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would the bitcoin price behave during a monetary collapse? on: January 28, 2024, 01:53:30 AM
I don't see Bitcoin will be affected by this. In at first place, this kind of problem is one of the many that Bitcoin is solving.
Maybe at first or beginning of that collapse Bitcoin will react, especially it is the first time for Bitcoin to experience it and after that, it will bounce back then continue the run upward.
354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top altcoin that you won't buy anymore on: January 26, 2024, 01:42:32 AM
Solana,Matic,Bnb and many more, cant risk buying any altcoins that has a huge trading on coinmarketcap .It takes so much movement in Btc for them to go increase in prices unlike new altcoins but a slight bearish move in Btc will result in a very big dump that is why i don't hold them in my portfolio.
I can relate to Solana.
After what happened in FTX Exchange, I already sold most of my Solana. But sad suddenly it pumped during this year but it's fine because I already moved on, and used the proceeds of Solana for other altcoins.
I'm just glad Solana recovered. And I believe this current price of Solana is the real price if they just didn't involved with FTX Exchange.
355  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Playing crypto for many years without holding Bitcoin. on: January 26, 2024, 01:31:37 AM
Same experience with OP here.
Because before, my experience is also like this. Even though I have Bitcoins before, I tend to convert them to altcoins especially new altcoins and already dead altcoins. It was my biggest mistake, after that I already learned the lessons.
356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the rush to gain profit in crypto? on: January 26, 2024, 01:24:05 AM
Another thing to consider is what people see on the internet, especially on social media platforms where some people claim or say that it is "easy money" to these people, especially the new ones just to have a lot of people follow them.
With a lack of education, a lot of people will always rush and think about profits very quickly in the market.
357  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time to buy BTC NOW? on: January 26, 2024, 01:18:21 AM
I believe this is the best time to buy. While some people are becoming fearful, then chose to be greedy this time and continue to accumulate bitcoin as much as you can. No need to wait for a lower price drop, as we can’t be certain that bitcoin price will continue to dump. However, DCA is the key. Regardless if the next price will be more expensive or cheaper, at least you have made a maximum purchase already while bitcoin price is low.
I agree because once we will start to pump, for sure a lot of people will regret again for not buying. But now, most of them feel fear also not motivated to buy.
Well, it's up to them, we are just here to speculate. Overall what I can see now is price correction because of our recent pump.
358  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why people mostly fail in trading on: January 24, 2024, 10:47:59 PM
* Having no experience traders that is good in the craft to guide them.
Some people don't really need this, in my case I'm more into self-learner and I can learn it in my own pace with my own strategy, that's different per user so I don't think this one counts.
Same thoughts, because most successful traders started from nothing, we all started from scratch. Some people including me did self learning, I didn't pay any mentor or any lessons about trading because most of the materials to learn were already free over the internet.
We must continue to learn because even profit able traders now are still learning for sure.
359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: US Spot Ethereum ETF on: January 24, 2024, 10:12:00 PM
https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2024/01/12/blackrock-ceo-larry-fink-backs-ether-etf/
"BlackRock CEO Larry Fink Backs Ether ETF
The asset management giant may now be looking to list an equivalent product for ether, the native token of the Ethereum blockchain, as part of its ongoing journey toward tokenization."
Now that the Bitcoin Spot ETF has been approved, it is only a matter of time before there is one for Ethereum. I don't think it will take that long. With some delay there will also be spot ETFs for other cryptos, Solana or Cardano would be candidates for me. It is also conceivable that in the near future there will also be ETFs with mixed coins that track a kind of crypto index.
Exactly. Just take Silver as an example before. Gold ETF first then Silver followed.  That's what I can see right now.
Ethereum will be like Silver and I am strong guts the next ETF will be for Ethereum. We still new in ETF so for me, it will still take some time to have another ETF for another cryptocurrency.
360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETFs - Good or Bad? on: January 24, 2024, 10:09:40 PM
I see them as mostly good long term, but in the short term there has always been potential for bad.  For example, it was always going to be a buy the rumor sell the news moment, and that's exactly what we've seen.
If we exclude all news about Bitcoin Spot ETFs and only use price chart, we will see it is predictive to have corrections for Bitcoin around $40,000 to $45,000. The spike to $49,000 did not last too long and is not important. Finally price has been pulling back with an on-going correction.

Now, includes Bitcoin Spot ETF news, buy the rumor, sell the news is true but after this effect completes its role, we will have good capital contribution from Bitcoin Spot ETF. Money flow is important for any market and we will have massive capital with Spot ETFs.
Yes, this is common in every huge news or event happening in the market, so for me, the best thing to do is to wait. Wait for the price to stabilize again. If we assume that the buy the rumor and sell the news is happening then we can be assured it will not stay longer because people just trying to manipulate the market and make money on it.
I don't think any of the ETF things happened affecting the price of Bitcoin recently.
