If there is a woman out there who expects a $52k gift for Valentines' Day, avoid her like the J&J covid jab.

I was told of a friend of a friend who lived on noodles and water for 1 month straight. And then he died. Not sure of the cause of death. Not sure if it was ramen either.

Was this friend of a friend living at Camp Lejeune?

This was not as widespread as people think.

I was there during that timeframe so I checking into it and your had to be there for a minimum of 3 months and gone to a specific building for them to even check into it.

Thanks for the information.  I'm just going by the radio ads from law firms I constantly hear.  I honestly had no other frame of reference.

... But my account is older than yours.

Oh my bad...

Huh! A 2014 newb... now that is special. And in that case...I bow down to you sir.

I prefer lurker. I have been following this forum since 2013, and mainly this thread (90%~). I try to keep up to date. I find many people here interesting.
It's a good place to get a feel for the market, and a summary of different news outlets often gets posted here.

Got you beat.

The only downside of lurking is I didn't get a hat.

Lurkers unite!

I'm not really one for social gatherings anyway but the idea of a Lurkers' convention scares the hell outta me Smiley

No worries! We won’t show up.

 Oh you'll be there...

Happy Valentine's Day WO.
Snip
It's rare to see a lady that would appreciate and understand the value of this gift
Many would prefer flowers, chocolate, skincare or jewelries.
Mine is a living example
If she can't eat it
Then it ain't worth it.  Cheesy

P. S Same to you from this side.

Why would she appreciate an advance on what is destined to be hers anyway?!  Just hodl your bitcoin and get her something shiny or sweet.

edit: damn... I think I'm getting dementia changed the "and" to "an"

The Apocalypse Of Peter
And lo, for the love of God, I sayeth to all those with ears to hear: "Who let this crazy nut-job in here?"

That would be the 3rd incarnation of Cryptotourist who has killed himself off twice, both times in late December, coming back initially as Antisthenes and secondly as IAW.   It's sad to watch someone slowly descending into madness.  I would imagine nearly everyone has him on their ignore list by now.

As Cryptotourist, we had a discussion via PMs when it was time for his avatar hat.  He seemed like a normal guy who was proud of his heritage and I ended up making his hat to reflect that.

 Anyway...

llama llama.

"alpaca" may be the cooler animal and i remember the alpaca socks thing. but. "llama llama" sounds cooler. its even fun to type.

Sounds almost as cool as forty-eight thousand dollars per bitcoin.
356  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 10, 2024, 12:01:01 AM
You all know this doesn't have legs right? I don't think there's been a better sell signal in all of history for anything.

Look who’s back!

The alpaca is backa.

Edit: Some people still don't know the difference between an alpaca and a llama.

All I want to know is... can I still buy Alpaca socks with bitcoin?

I'll get some locally-sourced alpaca wool and learn how to knit you some socks for bitcoin if the price is right Smiley

I agree with the first statement but not the second. Why would you ever consider trading back to fiat? I would rather see Bitcoin drop to 0 before trading back to fiat.

buying nice things ?

I'm pretty sure many are getting back quite some life changing amount and they will consider cashing out a part for ... see above

I prefer to buy things i need over things that are nice.
For now, i'm satisfied with my current life, so no real need to change it.
At least not this early  Wink

that's exactly what I'm talking about: for some it's not early anymore and they are sitting on a 50x or 100x

and btw buying things you need is nice as well... isn't it?

I've been getting by on nothing for so long now, I don't feel like I need anything.  Maybe a case of Indian River Ruby Red Florida grapefruit... but that's about it.

haven't sold a satoshi for about 8 years but not everyone is the same

I love fruits btw.  I rarely eat vegetables..

I worked on a farm when I was young - there's nothing like Cortland apple fresh off the tree.   After bringing in straw for 10 to 12 hours, I would cycle by the orchard on the way out and grab the biggest one I could find to eat on the way home Smiley

never tried Cortland. what do they taste like?
Apples are so divers in taste it's almost a miracle. Even when apples get old and mealy you can grate them and they taste delicious again (at least most of them)

Sorry, I had to take the youngest to a birthday party.

The flesh is bright white, slightly crispier than a Macintosh but sweeter while still being tart and very juicy.  My grandma used tell me, "Those are cooking apples!" but I wasn't much of a cook back then (well, I cooked but not pies), it satisfied my hunger on the ride home and they are delicious (not the apple variety delicious).  I can get them here still in season but generally, I get whatever Costco has - Honeycrisp, if I'm feeling wealthy, Ambrosia or Gala otherwise.  I would get the Macs but my my wife and kids think they're too soft.  I like fruits too and we usually have a good selection of fruits on hand - we always have apples, mandarins (or clementines), seedless grapes and bananas... fresh strawberries if they're available otherwise a bag of frozen sliced.   For some reason, the Florida oranges and grapefruit have been very difficult to find these last few years.  I did find some Florida Ruby Red grapefruit by accident a couple weeks ago - we had a visitors staying over so I prepared some at breakfast and I was told by one of them, "I don't really like grapefruit." and I said, "Well then, I suspect you haven't tried one of these; just take a spoon and see if you like it." and after they tried it, they couldn't believe how sweet it was, finished it and then accused me of putting sugar on it.  I did not.

I'd better stop giving away my secrets or it'll be even harder to find Indian River Ruby Reds and Ethiopian Guji, Gigesa coffee beans.  It's the same thing that happened to bitcoin when I told everyone how good it was.
358  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 09, 2024, 10:48:43 PM
~snip

have you ever tried Japanese (blue) grapes?  I think only very ripe blue gooseberries come close to that kind of taste

I've never had the pleasure.   It's hard to find rare fruits around here but I'll keep my eyes peeled. (that was lame, sorry)
