Silver-Lining-Dept: I've been completely sober for well over a year now, and have no desires to further consume alcohol at this point.

Having said that, this is kinda retarded legislation.

"Currently, American guidelines recommend men limit themselves to two drinks per day while women should only have one drink. The American recommendations are up for review in 2025."

Now I understand why a woman would want to transition to a man and why a Canadian would want to become an American citizen.  Perks.

 "Last this weekend nice summer."
Not sure what he's trying to say.  Veracruz, Boca del Rio dgaf about summer - it's in the sub tropics where it's always nice and summer is merely a term for the period of time from the June solstice to the September equinox.

Last this weekend nice summer to each and every one of you!  That's gonna be my go-to sign off from now on.

Dear Grandma,

Hope this letter finds you well.  I'm still hodling... hope you are too!

 Last this weekend nice summer!
 Love homer

Yeah, great explanation buddy  Kiss

You've pretty much expressed my thoughts before I've even said them, But all in all, it makes for a beautiful moment.

Don't waste your time schmoozing with me when you have an English-language article to paraphrase and post so you can make your weekly quota.  I would hate to stand in the way of your dream to own one whole bitcoin; time is money.

Looks like bitcointalk is on a subnet that's been abusing my systems and got blocked. Not the first time something like this has happened.

I must have had a mini-stroke while you were gone... I forgot you're ChartBuddy's daddy.

Maybe I missed some key piece of info, but what's wrong with Buddy?

Been away a bit. Did Theymos change the site? This could explain why Captcha has been being a bitch the past week.

Did you know that you can bypass captcha with a code supplied by the board?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5042674.0 <-- link to the Theymos post about it

TL;DR
https://bitcointalk.org/captcha_code.php <-- link to your own personal captcha bypass code

I think more people got liquidated going long during this small drop then we’re liquidated being short through the jump in price the other day. This shows that people are still taking ridiculous bets and have an over bullish view of the current market. Stop trading with leverage and start stacking unless you want to be left behind.

 Hold my beer!

Buddy's missing all the fun!

I propose reducing ChartBuddy's interval to 5 minutes in order to catch moar of Bitcoin's perturbations.

I would like a way to reduce clutter on the site and if i recall correctly the ignore button does the trick.

On the other hand, I miss the lateral, witty humor of this thread.
Even the dickpics
Even the private part sunning.
Even the happe people postcards.
(slighly reworded just to make google serch a little bit more difficult).

Merit shower to he quotes the appropiate messages.

And of course I miss @proudhon.
@proudhon, where art thou?

perineum - search the forum for that and I'm sure it'll turn up the private parts sunning pics...although if they were imgur.com, they wont display properly

I really miss those food pics Arriemoller used to post on his semi-regular outings to the automotive parts place.  I find it hard to believe but he must have bought himself a new ride.

OT: went grocery shopping today.
Two observations:

1. Taster's choice (instant coffee, which I use in am because of rushing to work, etc) went from $8.99 to $13.99 (wowza!). Is there some coffee harvest problems in Brazil?
2. Large organic pasture-raised chicken eggs are $7.99 per 18 (44c/egg). Not bad. I wonder what they are in NY?

I am not sure about that 3.2% inflation now..at least some foodstuffs are rapidly becoming expensive.

That sounds ridiculous for instant coffee...  is that a 7oz jar?  I just paid 4.99 CAD (about US$3.67)  for a 100g (3.5oz)  jar of taster's choice decaf.  I only drink that once in blue moon if I need "something" in the evening so I grab it when it's on sale.  Usually, I make filter coffee or espresso (okay... Americano).

I double-checked the bill and it is $11.99 (up from $8.99), still, it is a 33.3% increase and yes, a 7oz jar.
Funny...now they are writing how many cups of coffee you can make with it (probably to justify the ridiculous price rise).

I noticed the new "makes X cups" on the label.  It made me wonder, who drinks such a small cup of coffee?

 LOL

Time is money; coffee is a luxury.

What if they could implement an "intention to merit" with a 48 hour recall on it so when everyone got on you for meriting a merit farmer, you could take it back... or not but at least we'd know where you stand and maybe the rusty pipe treatment would be in order Wink.  After 48 hours if not recalled, it would turn into a merit.  This could also be useful for those times when you've used your last merit and something better comes along causing you to regret using your last merit on an inferior post.

Before I cast my vote, I need to clearly understand your use of the word "disable" wrt JayJuanGee.  I wouldn't like to see Jay's typing fingers (and toes as I'm sure he must use those as well) broken or have him end up as a quadriplegic and/or rusty-piped into compliance.   I just want to be sure that no physical harm will come to JJG during the disabling process.

I can see you in my head, watching the clip with your name in it, over and over.

Something like this, while donning a Xhomer10 hat.

Mars had oceans of Water. Sure but why is nobody talking about that Mars has so much Oil that it can supply Earth with oil for 1000s of years?

... and INDIA just became the forth country (after USA, Russia and China) to successfully land its mission on Moon. Chandrayaan 3 is name of there mission that successfully landed on Moons South Pole few hours ago.

https://www.reuters.com/world/india/india-counts-down-crucial-moon-landing-2023-08-23/

India is awesome man. Congratulations !

Yes they are. Congrats to them from Pakistan.

It's a symbol! Chandrayaan is already on the moon, Bitcoin is next! Cheesy

Such cosmic achievements inspire me. In the future, man will have to master the last frontier, because otherwise, sooner or later, the Sun will burn out, and other things can happen. And the development of the space industry is a slow process, it is important to work on it now. And the fact that different countries are actively developing flights to the Moon and other objects of the Solar System is great!

There are only 4 countries that have made it to moon till date and there are over 200 countries in the world. Explore the space but not with mindset to find it as an exist place from Earth. Make this world better to live.

Congratulations to India for this outstanding achievement. India is the only country in the world to successfully land its spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 on the unexplored South Pole of the Moon. They have shown that good things can be done with less money and by utilizing talent. Anyway, all the countries of the world will benefit through this.

India's Chandrayaan-3 mission to the moon has cost Rs 6.1 billion which is equivalent to about $75 million USD.
