341  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: March 07, 2024, 04:52:25 AM
My question is do you think gambling every day is better? From his reasoning and points of narrations.
He was right, he would get all the possible win, but the bad thing was that he would also get all the losses. It will only depend on the size of the winning multiplier, whether it can cover the losses from the losses experienced or not?

We of course cannot bet on matches with high risks and expect a multiplier of x1000++, even before reaching that point it is very likely that the money we spent on betting will have run out. Until now, gambling is not the best solution to becoming rich and lasting a long time. Everyone's luck is different, and if you decide to gamble non-stop for 24 hours, you will encounter more small losses which, if accumulated, will become big losses too.

I wouldn't be surprised if you two are the kind of people who usually post on this board but really don't gamble. People who play skilled games like me can play every day, as long as they are not tired or stressed because if they have an edge on the game, betting long term will bring them profits. On the other hand, it is nonsense that someone who plays casino games, which have an HE, playing every day will bring him something positive. If he has enough money and does it as entertainment, fine, but if he does it as a "strategy" to win money, he does not understand anything. And on this point I agree with you that gambling is not a good strategy to get rich.
342  Economy / Economics / Re: Our decision making is responsible for the outcomes in our ways on: March 07, 2024, 04:40:34 AM
I like the emphasis on individual responsibility, moving away from the victim mentality that we are so often sold today. Leaving aside the specific case, in life we will do much better if we believe that life is largely in our hands, that it will be mostly the result of our decisions, than if we believe that we are a victim of circumstances before which we can do nothing. For me in particular, since I've been moving away from the victim mentality and adopting the responsibility mentality, I've been doing much better.
343  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: March 07, 2024, 04:33:52 AM
i dont understand a single sentence of what you are saying honestly

No surprise.

its a surprise if someone is paying you to post this bullshit content

I'm also not surprised that you call bullshit content an explanation with basic mathematics, for 7 year olds.

and what is wrong with martinglae ? gambling is gambling anyway  you little guy

I don't know how you don't get the Fields Medal for phrases like this.
344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you worried about the US Government moving BTC? on: March 07, 2024, 04:25:26 AM
I would like to know your views on the possibility of selling 1B USD worth of BTC from the US government:
  • Do you think the US government is about to sell 15,085 BTC?
  • Will this event have a negative impact on BTC and the entire crypto market?
  • Are you worried and changed your investment strategy because of this event?

1. I don't give a damn.
2. I put a lot of emphasis on the difference between the short term and the long term. For investments, for gambling and life in general. In this case it may affect the market downward at one point in time but it doesn't change the long term perspective I have.
3. Of course not because I invest for the long term.
345  Economy / Lending / Re: 10€loan on: March 06, 2024, 04:56:27 AM
Do not waste your time on this forum seeking for loan because no one will be very stupid to borrow you the money.

I see the loan application, or small scam attempt if you will, even more stupid than usual, as right now a Bitcoin transaction is about $2 to have some guarantees that it won't get hung up in the mempool. And a couple of days ago, when the OP created the thread, it was around 7 or 8 bucks, so assuming the offer was genuine it was going to cost quite a bit more to pay the fees than the interest on the loan, which is already quite high in terms of APR.
346  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dont chase your loss on: March 06, 2024, 04:46:54 AM
It is best you gamble when necessary not because you want to chase your loss and win back you money, many are victim of this circumstances and for me is a bad practice and this might make you not to employe your gambling skills and roles because you inhast in your decision making. What is your opinion on this?

My opinion is that they are not a victim of circumstances. Better if you stop using the socialist vocabulary for everything. One of the worst things about socialism is that it has sold people that they are helpless victims who can do nothing. A victim of circumstance is someone who is walking down the street, a brick comes off the facade, falls on his head and kills him. That is a victim of circumstance, not someone who repeatedly goes to the casino of his own free will and when he loses what he had planned to lose, he continues betting more to see if he can win it back.
347  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: March 06, 2024, 04:38:26 AM
tried the Casino but unfortunately even the Ccometitions is only for high rollers . and for the races the games with High rtp or 1% house edge only contrubute with like 0.3 point per $ to the race . so it means nothing

hopefully there will be some good rewards  .  for now with this rtp  nah not attracted

No wonder your nickname is Martingaleboy because someone who says such nonsense is typical of someone who believes things like Martingale is a good strategy. Surely you are one of those who believe that it is better to bet in a casino with an RTP of 90 that gives you 5 in bonuses and promotions, so that the real RTP is 95 rather than bet in casinos that have an RTP of 99.
348  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC created new ATH before Halving: are you surprised? on: March 06, 2024, 04:31:47 AM
I am a little surprised, because after how disappointing this cycle has been I didn't expect the price to be so high now. However, the fact that the ATH has been minimally beaten does not mean anything to me, because until it is clearly beaten I do not consider it beaten. If we take inflation into account, in real terms it would not have been beaten.

It will surely take a few more attempts to clearly pass the $70K barrier, which is when I will consider the previous ATH actually beaten.

349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: March 05, 2024, 04:55:28 AM
Doing active gambling like Slots, Dominoes, poker etc. that requires more focus while in the main job is not allowed.
It will instead interfere with those main jobs and just focus more on gambling.
Such employees lack loyalty and focus on the work they do, more concerned with what can actually be done elsewhere after work.

To me, that's not the point. The point is that someone who can't wait to finish work to gamble like that clearly has a gambling problem.

If you only do lottery or do football club betting, it can be done anywhere and anytime.
Just need to go in and determine how many bets to make and just have to wait for the outcome to happen.
It doesn't require more focus, so you can focus on the main work.

You're absolutely right. In those cases, it's a different story. Buying lottery tickets doesn't require much time or concentration. You can do it quickly, like when you go to the bathroom, and once you've bought them, all you have to do is wait for the draw.
350  Other / Archival / Re: Are investors investing in Bitcoin at ATH now are fools ? on: March 05, 2024, 04:42:16 AM
The answer is YES and NO.

YES - those who have been investing in Bitcoin for years and know what is happening, but still have some doubts all the time, and instead of taking advantage of the long bear market, they start investing only now.

NO - The one who is a beginner is in a situation where he can invest now, regardless of the price, or wait for the next correction and bear market, which may only occur in about 2 years. Besides, maybe people wouldn't feel like fools if they understood that Bitcoin is much more than a get-rich-quick scheme.

I was thinking along the same lines. In fact, there is an investment strategy that involves buying right when the all-time high (ATH) is broken, because it is very rare for the price to go down after an asset reaches a high. The most common thing is for the fear of missing out (FOMO) to kick in and the price to keep going up. However, there are other things to consider here, and the difference between a gambler and an investor is the difference between someone who buys out of FOMO right now and someone who does so taking into account other variables (macroeconomic environment, price trend for months, proximity to halving, etc.).
351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which player are you? on: March 05, 2024, 04:36:25 AM
Do you prefer games where you know right away whether you've won (or lost) casino style, or do you prefer other games like sports betting? Do you have any other favorite games?

Well, in my case, I prefer poker, which is a game where you know instantly if you win the hand or not. However, it shares the same characteristic with sports betting in that you can make money in the long run, so I don't really see the distinction. In poker, you can see the results of a hand almost immediately, but if you're trying out a new strategy, a new modality, or you've moved up a level, you need to play for quite a long time to be sure that what you're doing is working. In the case of online NLSH, a minimum of 50,000 hands.
352  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are still early in this bull run. Retails have yet come back massively! on: March 05, 2024, 04:29:42 AM
One thing is clear: we can beat the ATH of 69,000 soon, perhaps today. If it happens it would be the first time it has been beaten at this point in the cycle, before halving, which would bode very well for the rest of 2024. Perhaps the price performance next cycle can make up for how disappointing this one was? It won't take long to see.
353  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Can Bitcoin save a nation that owes a lot of money / Debt on: March 04, 2024, 04:48:03 AM
No. Countries like Pakistan, if they want to get out of the hole, have to start by spending less than they earn. Exactly the same thing happens as in a family or a company, not expecting a magical investment to get you out of trouble.

The value of the bitcoins purchased by El Salvador is $150M and the GDP is around $34 billion, meaning that the price increase, although not go bad, will not have a very significant impact.

For a country's debts to decrease, its economy must develop. Buying Bitcoin does not increase the economy.

Well, unless you become famous for making Bitcoin legal and attract investment for it, as has happened in El Salvador, that does help develop the economy. But you're right that just buying Bitcoin doesn't.
354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does casino streamers have influence in your gambling life? on: March 04, 2024, 04:41:10 AM
Little influence. On YouTube I see some videos of poker players but I don't spend the day watching them. The one I usually see the most is Daniel Negreanu, who apart from the educational content seems like a nice guy. I learn things from him, but how can I learn things from other poker players, and precisely the streams I don't usually watch because I find them boring. I prefer to watch later videos on hand analysis or other topics.
355  Economy / Gambling / Re: An open letter to Eddie from Stake with lots of shares on Reddit on: March 04, 2024, 04:32:44 AM
I see logic in the argument, and that is why there are several countries that prohibit or have restricted the advertising of betting houses. The problem with gambling today is that the internet is available 24/7, which is potentially much more addictive than when the only way to bet was to go to a place. But I agree that in the end everyone is responsible for their actions, we should not forget that. In the end, online gambling is one of the possible addictions on the Internet, like online porn or being hooked on Instagram likes. Everyone must be aware of the world we live in, its potential risks, and act accordingly.
356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New US Ruling deems most altcoins, if not all are securities on: March 04, 2024, 04:22:38 AM
Thank God I don't but if I had any money in altcoins I would dump them all immediately for Bitcoin because this ruling may lead to a market crash. .

Where do you get that bullshit from? I don't have any money in shitcoins either but first, the market has not suffered after this rulling and second, securities are widely traded in the markets on a day to day basis.

If SEC. Chairman Gensler can not answer the question, is Ethereum a security or a commodity, it does not make sense that SEC. under his term, tries to suit other cryptocurrencies as securities.

I'll answer that for you: a security depends on a central authority that can issue it at will, just like the bonds of a company or a government.
357  Economy / Gambling / Re: Freebitco.in - FUN Token Investment Experiment on: March 03, 2024, 05:37:11 AM
Price is very attractive in my opinion after I zoomed out the chart. I saw price corrected about 40% or 50% from its latest peak and it potentially gives investors opportunity to x2 their capital if the token simply reclaims its latest peak. Look farther, by zooming out, I saw another better possibility to have x10 with the token because the highest price in 2021 is about 10 times from today price.
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/funtoken/

Have you put your money where your mouth is? What I see there is the typical shitcoin graph, trending to 0, with some huge spikes in its history for having become fashionable at some point. To me it only makes some sense to acquire the token to enjoy more benefits in the casino, but not even then. The graph is clearly downward in the long term, and in the last year when it looks practically flat if we zoom in we see that it has lost 10%. I don't see any news that will unleash the FOMO and cause the price to have a good spike.

Doubling the price may double it but betting on that is not much different than playing red or black at roulette and what I do see almost impossible is that it will make x10, because that price was reached when freebitco.in announced its adoption of the token. With the fiasco that has resulted I doubt very much that another casino will jump on the bandwagon.
358  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving don't make wealth on: March 03, 2024, 05:27:31 AM
To the OP there are some things he says that are not understood but I will not blame him because he is a newbie.

It seems to me that he has an important confusion. First, saving is the previous step to investing. In other words, one thing should not be opposed to the other. And secondly, we have already explained many times that the best thing to do is to have a part of savings, for emergencies or expenses that you foresee, and then investments. In other words, the dichotomy he puts forward is false.
359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler takes his own life after a loss. on: March 03, 2024, 05:20:23 AM
I've gotten passed this amount in my life and that's not the reason why I am going to say what I am about to say.

There is no amount of money that worth a life, your life is worth more than any amount...

I'm sure there is some of the history we don't know. There are many people who gamble and many people who lose amounts of money they could not afford, but they do not take their own lives. Without knowing the specific details of this case, when one takes one's life it is not only because of a specific event like this one, it is usually a combination of several factors, such as a disappointment in love, having been fired from a job and seeing no future, a complicated family situation and things like that.

The news story says he took his own life after losing that $3K, but just because one thing happens after the other doesn't mean the former is the cause of the latter. Correlation does not imply causation.
360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just hodl, bitcoin will do the silencing. on: March 03, 2024, 05:08:07 AM
This is because of their consistency to keep buying when prices get cheaper.
...
The power of HODL in investment combined with DCA will have a tremendous effect.

Well, the DCA includes holding. It would not make sense to buy at regular intervals only to sell after a short time.

As I have said in other threads, DCA only makes sense with premium assets, such as Bitcoin. In this case Bukele has been confident from the start that Bitcoin is such an asset and that time was going to put the price in place. The (unrealized) profits of now are a simple result of that.
