341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How was your crypto journey this year? on: December 26, 2023, 02:55:28 PM
Well, despite how bad the market started this year, still it ended up with a good and unexpected markup. My experience this year also tells something to me that there is always light after darkness. But if we are too impatient, we can't see it anymore.

There is no easy money in crypto, at is really a struggle for us but because we are impatient, we deserve to earn a profit as well. Those who sold during the market correction and dumped their coins, I feel now their regrets. I hope this year will give a lesson to the new investors that waiting is very important and this is the only way to survive.
342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Too Expensive For Me. on: December 26, 2023, 01:11:01 PM
Investing in Bitcoin can provide an opportunity for anyone to grow their economy in the future, no matter how large the investment they make, the most important thing is to be consistent in continuing to add to their investment assets.  Don't push too hard if you can't put large amounts of money into it, avoid short-term trading so you can continue to grow the investment assets that we will make.
I asked someone why they didn't invest, they answered that they didn't have money. That is not reasonable to me and much more if they say that Bitcoin is already expensive. I don't think it was all about the price and capital but probably because they don't have an interest in investing and they don't want to grow. Well, we can force them to consider it because there is nothing happens and it is not profitable when they invest if it is against their will.

After all, despite the current price of Bitcoin, those who are willing to take risks will still buy some but those who are not, always have a reason to decline.
343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Teofimo Lopez Vs. Jamaine Ortiz WBO Welterweight Title February 8 on: December 26, 2023, 08:47:15 AM
But this could be the same if Teo Lopez started to dominate the fight again from round 1 and never give Ortiz some room to counter.
This is the kind of scenario I'm expecting to see in this fight. IMO, Teo is just too much for Jamaine Ortiz although some may disgaree, but Jamaine Ortiz  isn't a champion caliber fighter, so how can we expect him to give a tough fight to Teo.

And who knows, maybe Lopez can KO Ortiz here.

Well, probably one of the biggest upset that will happen this year, but honestly, I'm not seeing it happening, so the chance is very slim.

Maybe Teo will loss, the worst case scenario, but to get KO'd, it's too unlikely.
344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: December 26, 2023, 08:23:35 AM
TNT is playing without an import now, but they started strong in the first quarter, good thing Ginebra were able to catch up in the 2nd quarter and they are even now at 37 at the end of the half. During the first quarter when Ginebra was already down, I was able to bet on -5.5 but now if you are interested in betting, you can take it at -7.5.

IMO, this is still a very enticing bet as TNT won't be able to last with RHJ whom they are used to in carrying their offense.

Both bet (-5.5 and -7.5) won as Ginebra won by 8 points. Good thing the last 2 sequence of TNT didn't convert to offense. The factor maybe was they are in early foul trouble in the 4th quarter, giving the Ginebra a good chance to rally with a 27-13 score in the 4th quarter only.

On the 2nd game since he came back, still the best player is Scottie Thompson if I heared it right.

That was a come-from-behind win by the Ginebra Kings. They struggled on the first three-quarters of the game even though RHJ was out due to injury, thanks to that 2 triples from Scottie Thompson in the last two minutes of the game that served as the final nail in the coffin for the TNT Katropa.

Yes, Scottie was named the best player of the game last night and he deserved it as his points were the biggest factor why they won.

Ginebra again, congrats...

I'm just curious with what has been the trend with the PBA as based on what I observe, when a team miss their import, they seemed to give their opponents a problem, either they'll win or they'll cover the handicap. I'm getting puzzled now if it's really the refs are trying to control the calls in favor of the import-less team or just the locals playing better without an import.

For example, this particular game ( SMB vs Northport) https://www.pba.ph/recap?match=2369291

Northport won despite playing without an import.
345  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Follow the technique if you have zero trading knowledge in crypto on: December 25, 2023, 05:08:43 PM
It is simply said that we all have differences and even if I follow your steps or technique in trading OP, I was certain that the results are different. WHY? That will matter in our decision, especially in critical times and I can't borrow your mind to think for me on behalf but rather make mine.

If you succeed in trading, then congratulations. I will tell you that only a few traders have gained success in trading and this is because

346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Succeeded in introducing Bitcoin to a friend on: December 24, 2023, 07:30:00 AM
My question now is that is it wise that I showed him the amount of Bitcoins I have accumulated before he developed interest?

I don't think so.

If you will ask me, it's a No for me, Even if were close friends because I want to maintain the confidentiality when it comes to my income, salary as well as about investments/savings. It's not like I don't have trust but It's much safer If I'm the only one who knows about it, Even to my family, I never informed my exact income amount so as to have less expectations.
It is about keeping ourselves safe as well. He might gain interest in learning but we never know what is the mind of those people who know our finances. I'd rather look simple and empty so people don't care about us. But can't blame the OP as well, he trusted his friend, and he has the confidence already, and in order for him to convince to show evidence that he has Bitcoin. We could just hope that everything went well and his friend didn't think any stupid things against him.
347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Teofimo Lopez Vs. Jamaine Ortiz WBO Welterweight Title February 8 on: December 22, 2023, 07:56:53 PM
Ortiz is a good contender but his best fights have been at lightweight. If he couldn't defeat Loma then I don't see how he can beat Teofimo in a higher weight class. We've seen Teo struggle against average fighters but maybe the win against Josh Taylor will give him the confidence he had been lacking in previous fights. This should be a nice showcase during Super Bowl week in Las Vegas. There will be lots of attention on this fight and if he wins Teofimo's next fight could be a PPV against Matias in New York.

He only had one lose against George Kambosos Jr, the boxer that was schooled by Devin Haney two times. Teo had a statement that he was not anymore comfortable on that weight os he moved up and he proved his excuse was true. Beating Josh Taylor who's also a champion, that would say a lot about the skills of Teo, and as long as he is very confident in the division he's holding now, I doubt a challenger who failed against Loma has a chance of upsetting him.

What we are seeing on Teo now is a more matured and smarter boxer. His loss to Kambosos was a wake up call that he cannot be too cocky all the time and underestimate his opponent.

If we watch again the fight, we will see that Teo aren't playing defense and was just trying to look for a one punch KO, but it's unfortunate for him as Kambosos wasn't playing around, he was too focus with his counterpunches that hurt Teo although Teo survived in the fight. That mistake will never happen again.
If I'm not mistaken, Teo was able able to knock down Kambosos in that fight? So he was trying to make a comeback, unfortunately he just fell short, but the scores were very close. So most likely it could go either way in that fight, if only Teo was very careful early and not let Kambosos take control.
I can't remember anymore if Teo scored a knock down, but if he did,  it's still not enough as Kambosos were dominating most of the rounds, and you can see Teo was really bloody on that fight as he was hit many times with clean shots.

But here it might be very different, for Ortiz, first time to move in 140 lbs, so there's no more weight drain. But we haven't seen his power yet or whether he can carry his true power in this weight class. So let's give Ortiz a benefit of a doubt and that it could be a better fight, more thant we expected.

Lopez will be happy to know that or to see him struggle because as for him, being the champion, he is already in a very comfortable weight and he could deliver his best in this fight. So no more high expectation from me for Ortiz, as I believe this is just a cherry picked fight for Lopez.
348  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The best decision you can take on: December 22, 2023, 12:22:56 PM
...
Staying off is the best we can do, when not sure.
Well, it is a matter of choice and I agree with that. In fact, there is no reason to choose trading if we know that we can't perform it well and of course, why choose trading if we don't have knowledge and skill about it? Quit trading is not a cowardly action but was a great decision from someone who knows that he is in doubt. Because we can't compare ourselves and even seeing your friend become successful doesn't mean that you can be successful as well.

Many people commit mistakes by choosing trading which they don't even understand in the first place and much more if they are too lazy to study the market.
349  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can anyone be a Bitcoin speculation expert? on: December 21, 2023, 12:26:04 PM
Better to argue there are no experts at all, since its not possible to have a certain outcome thats the most feasible conclusion imo.    In this regard since some of it is luck the biggest qualifier to being with expertise is experience, time served trades done and not going broke while doing so should qualify someone as with good enough experience to advise others on future moves.   Patterns of movement in every market will tend to repeat, never exactly the same but having seen the extremes of BTC before does go some way to helping justify a more certain prediction on its next move.

I think we can say that Bitcoin prediction is not an exact math or science and so are other traditional assets. And we should also look at how infant Bitcoin data is, it's fairly young, just 10 years and so there are a lot of things that we haven't seen in this market to make predictions.

The repeating patterns that we might have been seeing might not be applicable though. So we can just pluck that out in any year and then put it on the current and says that this is going to happen in the future. But that might not happen though as again, there are certain parameters that we will have to look that might not yet occur in the past.
This is another factor that makes giving accurate predictions really difficult, after all when it comes to the stock markets even if the data is not very detailed the farther you look at the past, at least there is something you can use to make some predictions.

But bitcoin is so young that we have yet to encounter a great deal of market conditions, and once we do it will still be impossible to make accurate predictions about the price, as it is impossible to do so with a sample size of one.
The crypto market was not just created yesterday so we have nothing to see, indeed, it already has records in the past to review but no way we can make an accurate prediction from that because of the volatile nature of the market. That is why all predictions will certainly be going wrong no matter what and we can't change this. Therefore, there is no way we make ourselves or proclaim that we are an expert and even our experience can't assure that we can make predictions close to the actual price reach, all of it was just a unlucky guess.
350  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You lose more when you over trade on: December 21, 2023, 11:46:24 AM

Me I dont trade if the market doesn't come to me, if I don't sees the right setup I don't trade at all, even if it takes a month without trading, it's better for me to wait and be profitable than to lose my capital, stay discipline and be profitable.
Newbies usually suffer losses because in their minds is all about money, earning fast.
In trading, we don't just know when to sell/buy but also, we need to know how to analyze the market. But newbies apparently don't have such a thing, well, I could understand their position as they are still learning and observing the market behavior. But for us who have been doing this, I don't think it was a reason, it is probably because we are using an ineffective strategy. Even trading for many years if we don't change our strategies, nothing happens other than losing our money.

352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 21, 2023, 09:07:33 AM
Clippers also putting on a clinic right now but let's see if they can hold out. There's still plenty of time for the Mavs to turn it around and coming back from 20 points is quite common in the NBA now. I expect Norman Powell to do another great job and scoring at least 15 points to cover for PG.
It's over now, Clippers won the game, and yes you are correct, good support from the bench team from the Clippers. There were moments when Harden is cooking, but Kahwi is the most consistent amongst their start with another 30 big points.
The winning streak continues. It was a good team performance overall and the fact that only Terance Mann is in single digit is crazy. I thought Mavs is going to take it because they came back in the third quarter but Leonard and Powell came up big in the fourth.

The was a fake comeback, LOL.. I was thinking they'll win because I have some decent moneyline bet live when they were down by a huge margin. Can't really criticize the Clippers now, and I think it's not a good idea to bet against them as they are dominating, not the same old Clips before where they fold when they are down big and when their opponents would have a big run.

Leonard is still leading, the absence of PG wasn't felt at all.
353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 20, 2023, 01:18:16 PM
Time flies, the wait will be over soon as we will have a great christmas present watching this fight.
As to the question if it's entertaining or not, obviously the answer is yes because these two champions are aggressive, they aren't boring to watch.
Honestly, I'm a bit worried on Tapales here as he might be over confident that would lead to being careless. Knowing Inoue's power, Tapales should be careful and has to remain a counter puncher, and to be able to do that job effectively, he has to gain some quickness.

Six days more go and it's fight night. This fight will not be boring for sure as both fighters are explosive. One fighter is going to kiss the canvas soon, i just hope that its not Tapales who will be lying in the floor being counted by the referee lol.

We are hoping that way because it's our way to support Tapales. However, if in case he'll be the one who will kiss the canvas, I'm sure we will not be surprise anymore as Inoue is known to be a powerful puncher.

Anyways, there's this circulating online rumors about Inoue cheating, I hope Marlon's camp will be careful, make sure that the gloves of Inoue is not loaded so the fight will be fair and square. Maybe that's the reason why Inoue choose to fight in Japan only because he was favored their, the regulating body might be silent and would just support him, I hope rumors are not true though.

It's a good thing for Tapales that Nonito Donaire has some advice on him on what to do because, at one time, Inoue has almost suffered a defeat on the hands of the Filipino Flash.

Let me guess. I think the suggestion is, "be careful all the time". Because in the 2nd game, Donaire wasn't careful, he was too aggressive and forget on his defense.
354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 20, 2023, 07:45:28 AM
Yes, as gamblers, 1.07 has no value at all, in terms of ML, we should be looking at other betting line, maybe per round will be good but the risk is high. But this is what we are after all, all that juicy odds that we can get that is so appealing and we think that it's a good chance to happen then we will go for it. But not the ML, who knows, if there is an upset here and someone bet big on that, for sure they will have regrets later.

That odds exist for a reason, for a boxer to be give a 1.07 betting odds, that means he'll likely win the fight, 99% of the time, I guess. Inoue is just too quick and powerful for Tapales, so I think 1.07 is quite attractive especially for bettors who could wager a huge amount of money. Using some figures to fully make it attractive, let's say you bet on Inoue to win straight up for $100k, with 1.07, if that bet wins, that's instant $7,000 in just less than a day, who would not take that?
355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Secure your crypto wealth by not having it all in crypto on: December 20, 2023, 06:01:06 AM
Yes, crypto makes someone become rich but the idea of keeping all our money in it is somewhat carries a huge risk of losing them all in an instant. Indeed, it was not a safe investment, and many stories we have heard that many had lost their money due to scams and hacking. We should anticipate such a thing before experiencing it because there is no way of turning back the time and getting our money. That is why I only invest 50% in crypto and 50% in local investment. I couldn't say that I was not a risk-taker but I'd just think about the security of my investment as this is what matters most if you are in this field, not just about earning money (huge).
356  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does technical analysis work in crypto trading? on: December 20, 2023, 03:32:36 AM
For all my 5 months in trading, I'm learning only technical analysis but now everyone is talking about the concept of "Smart Money". So I think that trading is changing and speculators should stop trading based on technical analysis. Or smart money just a concept that cannot possibly work in the market,
Those which are often referred as smart money also use technical analysis, it is just that they are better than the majority at using that skill, whether this is because their abilities are superior or because they are so powerful they can influence the market by themselves as it is the case of the whales, however make no mistake, as long as the market is big enough and it is not heavily manipulated then technical analysis will work on it, however this is not magic and a margin of error will always exist and your predictions could always go wrong from time to time.
In the bottom line, Technical Analysis plays a key role in our trading career. However, this won't give us assurance that everything went well due to the volatility and unpredictable price trend of the market. Therefore, there is no easy money in trading, all of us must struggle with how to understand the behavior of the market and act accordingly based on our TA. If it fails, then we have to accept it rather than blame it because this is naturally happens in trading otherwise, we stop. Or improve our knowledge and skills...
357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have any one had experiences with banned bank/providers because of gambling? on: December 19, 2023, 03:31:08 PM
I haven't experience this as all my bank accounts are not enrolled online. I mean, I can view it online but I cannot transact like fund transfer, so I can say it's say for me being a person who constantly gamble. Nowadays, it's easier to use online wallets, so it's not a problem anymore to gamble online if the online wallet we are using is supported by the gambling site.

I have this online wallet which are regulated by the central bank, the same agency that are regulating the banks, I'm using it for online gambling and until now it's still active, so I have no problem about getting banned or anything related.
358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing altcoins now or during halving? on: December 19, 2023, 11:20:34 AM
We're still uncertain of what will happen after halving but as we have experienced in the past halving, the market moves high and most of us also believe that the trend will be the same. But should we have to wait for that before investing? I don't think that was a wise move because if we witness that it pumps, we miss the chance to buy them at a cheaper price - regrets are what we get.

If we are just about to invest, why not do it now? In fact, there is no perfect time to buy but we believe that bull season will come a few years from now and I think we are already in good time to prepare.
359  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is hard!!! on: December 18, 2023, 05:21:25 AM
Only a few people understood the concept of trading which is why only a few traders then succeeded.
Saying it was hard and risky is undeniable because that is the truth but why do some people push themselves to do it despite those things is because they saw the opportunity there and they understand that there is no easy job in the world, everything has risk and needs hard work. Therefore, if someone promised and said that they could make money easily, then it was a big scam - that is a Ponzi Scheme and it was not trading.
360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you confident betting on handicap for heavy favorites or heavy underdog? on: December 17, 2023, 02:56:22 AM
When I was new in sports betting I was so confident with betting on low spreads. IIRC, my limit that time was -3.5 and I love to take on the moneyline because I thought it could give a high percentage of winning, unfortunately it didn't work well as my bet usually wins but the odds I'm getting on favorites are very low, so in the long run I still lose money.

now, I feel like i have matured, I now see a high handicap like a trap, so I choose the favorites with high spread most of the time. Based on my observation (not really taking record) I am a bit ahead.  Smiley
