3441  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ShopinBit.com - Europe's biggest Bitcoin Store - 321.000+ Products on: October 28, 2022, 02:35:02 PM
Today we have a special offer for you!

If you pay with Bitcoin or Monero you can get the new Google Pixel 7 or 7 Pro with 128GB at 3% off and therefore for the best available price (at least the best price in Germany & most of the EU).

Pixel 7: https://shopinbit.com/detail/index/sArticle/1024233
Pixel 7 Pro: https://shopinbit.com/detail/index/sArticle/1024234

This is the first offer that we will present you while we are working slowly towards our first halving (our 4th Birthday).  Cheesy
That is a very good deal for Pixel 7 phones, especially if you live in a country that don't have official google store that sells this devices, but why do you only have boring Obsidian color in stock, and not Snow and Lemongrass version Smiley?
I still that Pixel 7 Pro is overpriced, and it's not worth to pay so much more for not that much benefits compared to regular Pixel 7.
There is hydrogel screen protector in your shop, so best to buy this together, and you could also add some cool cases in future for better protection.

3442  Other / Meta / Re: Question About Report to moderator on: October 28, 2022, 02:22:41 PM
how to look the history report?,
If you want to contribute forum and make it better than just keep reporting bad posts and you will soon see your reports in this page:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=reportlist;mine

if the moderator moves the topic, whatever the reporter did (if not in accordance with the board) will mark as good?
Yes in this case it will be market as good report, but sometimes it gets unhandled and nothing happens, so it all depends from moderators.
I just checked my reported post accuracy and it is around 97% but I don't really care about this stats, and I don't check history of reported post unless there is something suspicious.
3443  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some coins or a hardware wallet? on: October 28, 2022, 02:09:16 PM
Ratimov originally created this list of hardware wallets, but it's been years since his original post and some of these wallets are no longer available or have been discontinued by their manufacturers. I've taken the liberty of translating his list, putting together my own updated version here: [VELIKA LISTA] Hardverski novčanici, and I will continue to update this list as new hardware wallets are released.
Since  you are speaking about that nice list fork, I think you need to update last few hardware wallets I found and posted in that topic, Ice wallet, Citadel, PirateChain Wallet, and one more you wrote about Ellipal Titan Mini.
I am not suggesting purchasing any of this wallets, but I am just reminding you that you need to update and refresh this list, maybe even prices changed for some devices like Trezor.

If we're talking about a small amount of bitcoin, there's really nothing wrong with a mobile wallet. It's mostly for learning purposes in the first place. And there's a reason why I mentioned that OP should help gramps correctly setup the wallet.
It's nothing wrong with them, but they are generally not very secure and we don't know if this guy is even using smartphone, so it could be a double learning process.
3444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Sparrow wallet suddenly not connecting to node on: October 27, 2022, 03:19:32 PM
OP you can try updating Sparrow wallet that just released new version 1.7.0 few hours ago, with lot of bug fixes and new features.
I am not sure if this will fix all your issues, but you could also contact developers or write your issue on their github page.
This is a cool wallet and best alternative for Electrum I found so far:

3445  Economy / Goods / Re: ANONYMOUS CARD on: October 27, 2022, 03:05:08 PM
Hello boys,
I am looking for an anonymous prepaid debit card that can also be reloaded with bitcoin and also has low costs, like this one
I don't know about this card you posted and I have to say that it looks sketchy to me.
Only legit company I know that is doing something similar is Coindebit.io, BUT they currently stopped their beta program and they refunded money to their customers.
They should start working again in next few months, so follow their social media for announcements and news.
One little problem with them is that physical cards could only be delivered in United States, digital cards worked worldwide.
Do your own research before sending Bitcoin to any cards like this.
3446  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Automatic Crypto Swap - No KYC or account needed on: October 27, 2022, 02:55:42 PM
We do not require you to make an account or use any KYC verification to automatically trade cryptocurrencies.
Having no KYC verification is nice, but what happens if someone sends you Bitcoin connected with address that was previously reported for hack and stolen coins?
I can find ZERO information on your website, there is no FAQ page with more information, and only links posted are brand new social media accounts.
Domain is registered yesterday and you already started with exchange business... sorry but this looks very suspicious to me.

There's no warning message about maximum coin which could be swapped.
I added one more zero, so I entered 210 million Bitcoin for swap, and it is still allowing transfer and asking me to send coins after entering valid address, so maybe they have their own ''printer'' Cheesy
3447  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LocalCryptos is shutting down on: October 27, 2022, 02:44:25 PM
Never had to do it locally but once in Atlantic City 2 out of the 5 bills failed. I said have a nice day, shook his hand and walked away. I don't think he was ripping me off but rather the person he got the money from ripped him off. Was actually surprised when I wanted to meet at a casino till I explained why.
That's crazy, but I think there are much more fake bills in circulation than we think, and some of them are much harder to detect, that is why Bitcoin is great and you can't fake it, well unless you use some fork with similar name.
I would personally write a review for seller like this that tries to make an exchange with fake bills, even if he didn't want to scam you, he should be more careful.
There are also small personal money detectors that are not very expensive and you can carry them with you everywhere you go.

Another suggestion would be that if there are people on LocalCryptos you have traded with several times before and have some trust with, then contact them now and ask if they are planning to set up on another platform (if they aren't already using one), or even to suggest that you can arrange private trades after the site goes offline.
I wonder if Bisq 2.0 exchange could make some magic and attract more people that are leaving LocalCryptos.
3448  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some coins or a hardware wallet? on: October 27, 2022, 01:52:32 PM
My uncle's birthday is around the corner ( two weeks to this time ) and I want to gift him something related to crypto, the last time we talked he is so interested in crypto and I told him to keep doing some research online, what do you think is the best gift for a 64 years old man? I am thinking about Doge coin or a Hardware wallet?
Don't be silly to give 64 years old grown man something like Doge, unless you want to make fun of him with shitcoins.
If you really want to give him something valuable think about giving him original coin - Bitcoin, that is decentralized and not controlled by clowns like Elon Musk.
You can also buy him some cool hardware wallet like Passport that looks like old mobile phones, or some other open source wallet like Trezor, Bitbox or Keaystone.
3449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodlonaut Trial on: October 26, 2022, 09:07:42 PM
It looks like the next target of CSW is going to be Jameson Lopp. I guess that this guy doing this shitshow only to travel on others'  (Ayre's) money.
Oh I can't wait to see this new Faketoshi doom trial and I am sure Jameson Lopp is not going to back down so easy.
Lopp is citizen of United States, so that means new trial would move again like a traveling circus with CSW as a main clown.
Does anyone knows who the heck returned and unbanned CSW twitter account, was it new boss Elon Musk, or he bribed or sued someone to unban him?  Tongue
3450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Prime Minister of UK - A crypto believer on: October 26, 2022, 08:58:11 PM
Keeping all that aside the interesting fact is that he is a firm crypto believer. I got to know this when I was scrolling insta today.
I don't trust any politicians, and I certainly don't trust this puppet Rishi who is just a part of global system that is totally against Bitcoin.
Never believe what politicians say or promise, look at their actions and you will understand if they are supporting Bitcoin or just following instructions from their masters.
I don't see any of his actions that the really supports Bitcoin, but maybe we will adopt some shitcoins like ethereum or make his own CBDC crap.
3451  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: New and improved Trezor website on: October 26, 2022, 08:26:28 PM
After searching a bit more, I found dkbit98's post where he mentioned the predictable nature of the generated seed phrases.
Yes I remember this, but maybe this two cases are not directly connected.
This Buratino company was dealing with some shady bitcoin miners, but nobody knows what intentions they had, maybe they just didn't have enough expertise to make this ''improvements'' with mini-trezor.

Maybe fake Trezors were from Russia and fake Ledger from China?
Chinese version would be called Mini-ledger, but original ledger is also coming from China and they only partially assemble it in some French village Cheesy
You and me can start a company and sell Trezors with different name, it would not be fake if we brand it with different name and call it something like Vault or Treasure.
We can even include our own secure element to make it more ''secure''.

3452  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 15% discount on Trezor hardware wallets on: October 26, 2022, 08:14:09 PM
I doubt we'll see any better prices by that time if they're giving 15% off now. They might add some offers about buying two, and getting the third one for half, or maybe give free silicon cases instead, but more than 15% off? I don't see it happening.
I am not saying it's going to get bigger discount, but it's still much better than what we had previous season, if someone remember them offering discounts for silicone cases and trezor accessories  Roll Eyes
Yeah I know it was chip shortage and all that crap, but better don't offer any discount in situation like that.

Trezor is working on that new secure element that will be integrated with their future hardware wallets. If they are considering to eventually retire the old Model One when the new devices hit the market, we might be seeing bigger discounts for Model One until the supply runs out. This is just speculation, of course.
New Trezor model will probably appear in this time next year, and that is my optimistic prognosis, if world economy don't collapse until them, and full production maybe starts in early 2024.
That doesn't mean they should follow steps of bad competition and retire devices all the time like old socks.
Maybe upgrading Trezor One with bigger memory (like in model T) would be better option to keep it alive, affordable and functional in future.

3453  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: PIN codes and Hardware Wallets on: October 26, 2022, 08:03:16 PM
Follow up question to the 4-5 posts immediately above: What is actually happening when a device is bricked? Is the data being wiped? Is it being encrypted?
It was probably encrypted and locked without unlocking option, but I never saw clear official explanation what really happens in this case.

One  recent post got my attention and inactive ledger device owners could check if this is true or not, but one guy reported that after few months of not using his legder wallet there was an issue with his PIN code.
Device forgot PIN code by itself, and he needed to restore everything again by importing seed words from scratch.
It could be one more mysterious issues after ledger devices were not used for longer periods of time, but support confirmed this is not normal behavior.

3454  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Digital Bitcoin Giftcards on: October 26, 2022, 07:54:38 PM
Do you have a link to this product? I cant find any debit cards that can be loaded with bitcoin.
There are many debit cards you can currently use with doing verification so I won't post any links for them, but one project exist without kyc called Coindebit.io, they are currently on hold and transitioning from beta to full phase release in next few months.

I am not sure I understand how scammers would benefit from a website that lets you give bitcoin to other people.
Ask them how and why they would benefit from this, not me.
If they can earn money from regular giftcards while scamming people, than they can do exactly the same thing with Bitcoin giftcards.
Better be ready for that and think of the ways how you would protect from this attacks.
3455  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LocalCryptos is shutting down on: October 26, 2022, 07:35:59 PM
What I liked and used a lot with LocalCryptos was the fast to face for cash. There are none listed in AgoraDesk (unless I am missing it) and very few on the other exchanges.
And their site is mobile friendly. Meet up at a local place, get some cash, release the funds, done.
Yeah I know what you mean, that is what I prefer as well, but there are always other ways you can do this, not just by using LocalCryptos Wink
I don't know the reason why AgoraDesk didn't add that payment option already, but someone could make suggestion to them.
If someone knows any other P2P alternative that have face-to-face payment option, other than AgoraDesk with Cah locally, please post below.

Bear in mind as well that all the traders on LocalCryptos will have to find new homes if they want to continue trading, so hopefully you will see the face-to-face markets on these platforms grow in size over the coming weeks as people make the transition.
Maybe other website will allow them to import their profiles with reputation, I think that is something LocalCryptos did when LocalBitcoin and Paxful announced KYC verification.
3456  Economy / Goods / Re: Marketplace Application Program with BTC? on: October 26, 2022, 06:58:15 PM
Is there a Bitcoin - P2P Marketplace application?  One that runs on its own and connects to peers rather than relying on some central server?  Really the Marketplace board is not all that great of an interface for buying things online.  I'd lilke an interface that looks like e-bay but with BTC prices.  Some escrow system would be good too.  I'm not asking much, just a pointer to it if it already exists.
There are some marketplaces that accept Bitcoin, but not many of them really get any traction and big popularity, most well know was Openbazaar with it's forks, and bitify.com (not p2p).
One more peer-to-peer marketplace I found is called Bitejo.com, it is still in beta phase, and it doesn't have that much offers, but it exists.
There are some rumors about ebay introducing Bitcoin payments, but we may need to wait more until this happens.

EDIT:
I found one Ebay clone called Ethair.com, but it is based on some shitcoin scheme, and I don't see much activity in their social media accounts.

EDIT2:
Try out shopinbit.com if you live in EU, they accept Bitcoin payments, and they have topic in bitcointalk forum:

3457  Other / Meta / Re: Abolish the Merit system and bounty threads on: October 26, 2022, 06:05:03 PM
Too many Legendary accounts!
So you are bitching about legendary accounts and making baseless accusations how they ranked up, while in the same you are time complaining how you didn't rank up while being inactive  Roll Eyes

The thing that grinds my gears the most is that there are legendary accounts with a join date of less than a year ago, and here's my account which is operated by a normal user, who has contributed to actual discussion about actual real issues since 2015 with a Senior member level LOL!
You contributed jack shit, with most of your posts being made in shitcoins and shitcoin speculation, you are basically inactive since 2020, and there is a chance your account changed hands.
Total of 34 posts made in Bitcoin discussion, and everything else is related to shitcoinery, that is around 1240 useless posts.

the site admin should abolish all this corrupt nonsense and just have ads, that means its a level playing field and no corruption. You still make money. You think having thousands of beggars making pointless posts will make the forum better? this is now a low quality forum with low quality users.
Should we really start digging up your useless posts, or you are the only one in this forum with useful posts  Cheesy
Let's make you a king of the forum, and everyone else should be below you and without ranks, I think that would make you happy.
Your next suggestion is probably to stop using Bitcoin and switch to your fake frEeD0mReZerve...
3458  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want the best hardware wallet on: October 26, 2022, 05:45:23 PM
Where can I read more about hardware wallet? I want to buy one for myself but I don't know which one is the best, I want the best among others, which one is your number one ranking hardware wallet?
I don't know if you need it for storing Bitcoin or BTC + shitcoins, but there is no one universally best hardware wallet for everyone,
ideally hardware wallets should be open source, air-gapped, and constantly tested by users and security experts for bugs and flaws.
It's best to stay way from closed source devices even if they are popular, like Safepal, Ellipal and Ledger, and choose something like Passport, Trezor (it's now on discount), Bitbox , etc
or just make your own hardware wallet using ESP32 devices or RapsberryPi (SeedSigner).
Try to buy wallets in official resellers and with cash whenever you can to avoid your information getting leaked (it happened several times already).

3459  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Digital Bitcoin Giftcards on: October 25, 2022, 07:10:08 PM
What kind of outcomes are you seeing when you gift bitcoin this way? When I suggest doing it this way , people don't have the motivation to for small amounts of btc. When they do get over installing the wallet, I have to walk them through what it is, and where they can spend it. Do you have a more streamlined way of going about this process of gifting?
I can always print and give them paper wallet with easy instructions how to use Bitcoin correctly.
It's not so important to give a 'fish'' to someone and fill his hunger, teach him to fish and he will feed himself for life... same goes for Bitcoin.
If I wanted to give Bitcoin to someone for long term storage I wouldn't tell them how to spend it so quickly, otherwise I would probably give them some debit card with Bitcoin loaded and ready for spending.

As far has hacking goes, the small amounts involved in gifting would be the same risk profile as spending btc with online websites so I don't think that is a major concern my customers will have when sending small amounts to friends and family.
You do realize that one of the most profitable scam business in the world is fake tech support guys calling random people around the world and dealing with gift card scams?!
I am not saying this will happen with Giftbitcoin, but Bitcoin does attract a lot of scammers already.

Here is just a few examples with Kitboga and Scammer Payback:

3460  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 15% discount on Trezor hardware wallets on: October 25, 2022, 07:00:14 PM
Trezor currently has a new promotion, and to celebrate it, they are offering a 15% discount on Trezor One and Model T hardware wallets. This promotion will be valid until 8 November 2022.
So, if you are in the EU, the Trezor One will now cost you around €70, while Trezor T is approximately €220.
Oh maybe they noticed my constant complains and wining about new higher prices of their devices, so they decided to make a new discount around Halloween time.
Black Friday is November 25th and Cyber Monday few days later, so we could see new discounts around that time.
It's still a lot of money for Model T, so no thank you... €100 - €150 is most I would pay for that device.

The reason for this is the introduction of Dollar-cost averaging (DCA) in Trezor Suite. Their term for it is Bitcoin savings account. Most already know that using the DCA investment strategy means buying a fixed USD/EUR amount of an asset at a fixed time. That can be once a week/month/year, etc.
It's their new partnership with Swan Bitcoin and BTC Direct, but I don't think it works for all countries and registration is needed, probably with verification, so no thank you.
Only supported countries for now are Unites States, Belgium, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic.

Much more interesting update is P2P non-KYC worldwide crypto buy provided by HodlHodl with new Trezor Suite v22.10.3.
I think they should also add option to sell Bitcoin with HodlHodl.
