2681  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Stack wallet for mobile? on: January 26, 2023, 09:23:58 PM
After doing further tests, I noticed there's an annoying synchronization glitch and bug [e.g. if you try adding different nodes, 7 out of 10 times it works for the mainnet, but I was never able to get it to work for the testnet]!
- Anybody else with a similar experience?
I didn't have issues like that, but I tried running Stack wallet in android emulator and everything worked fine until I went to settings and started to change things there.
After this wallet started crashing randomly so I had to reinstall and reset everything.

While testing this I found out another similar open source multi-currency wallet that respects privacy, it id available for Android/iOS, and its called Elite Wallet.
Elite is supporting Bitcoin, Monero, Litecoin and Haven coin with it's xAssets like xUSD, xEUR, xAG, etc.
Note that is new wallet so only use it for exprimental testing purposes!

2682  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor Password Manager Deprecation! on: January 26, 2023, 09:14:04 PM
So many wallet apps have a browser now I'm surprised they haven't done the same with chromium in Suite and completely avoided this.
It's extra work for them and I think they are now focused most of their resources for new generation hardware wallet with their new secure element.
I don't know how many people in total are using Trezor Password Manager, but this is not brining them any additional profit and many people never even heard about it.
If I remember correctly ledger hardware wallet should also have password manager, and I am not sure if any other devices have something similar.

I've used both. For completely offline use KeePass is just fine. For those who want a password manager with a server for multiple devices/platforms, ..I do like Bitwarden and it's open source too.
Of course, everybody should be careful what's he's storing on the internet.
Bitwarden is not bad but I don't want to use any cloud service aka other people computer, so I would only used it as self hosted.
2683  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Be careful with saxydev; he is a possible scammer on: January 26, 2023, 07:53:13 PM
Come on, you didn't realistically expected him to pay, didn't you?
Do you like to repeat same thing that LoyceV asked me or you don't understand answer I already wrote to him before?
Please don't make me write the same thing again, it's simple, we had a public deal agreement that he accepted, than he tried to evade and eventually he didn't honor his word.
If you don't agree with me than you can always support saxydev flag:

2684  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware Wallets that work with Smartphones? on: January 26, 2023, 06:34:35 PM
What kind of software wallet would a hardware wallet connect to when paired with a mobile device? I am struggling to come up with apps, as there are only say half-a-dozen vetted and open-source mobile wallets on iOS/Android in total and the rest cannot really be trusted.
Most hardware wallet have their own apps, Passport have Envoy app, Bitbox wallet have Bitbox app, Ledger have their own ledger app, Jade is using Green wallet, OneKey is usine OneKey app, Keystone have Keystone Companion App, etc.
Trezor is currently connected with their web app, but new Trezor mobile app will be released soon.
Some software mobile wallets work with multiple hardware wallets, for example Blue Wallet, Nunchuk, Simple Bitcoin Wallet, Green wallet, etc.
2685  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Trezor Password Manager Deprecation! on: January 26, 2023, 04:24:50 PM
I just received email from Trezor that their official Password Manager will no longer be maintained after June 30, 2023.
This was probably done because Chrome is making big changes in their browser and Trezor developers don't have enough resources to keep up with this.
If you used Trezor for this purpose than it's time to think about migration to other applications, and Trezor provided instructions for that on their website.
Click on your user name and select Export storage, and you will find them in file trezor-export.csv.

https://trezor.io/learn/a/trezor-password-manager

Trezor first suggesting for replacement is Bitwarden, but I would strongly suggest you first try KeePass or some of it's forks like KeePassXC for desktop and KeePassDX for mobile
They are all open source and they work perfectly without use of any centralized server.
Don't use LastPass that was hacked several times, and I see Trezor still have them listed on their website!

Trezor Password Manager is open source app and there is always a chance someone could fork it and continue maintaining it:

2686  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Know any laptop wallets that have Google 2FA login? on: January 26, 2023, 03:58:37 PM
Also should have multichain capability to send USDT, USDC, DAI to and from exchanges like Binance, Kucoin etc
Non-custodial wallets don't have any login options or accounts, with or without 2fa.
If you are using anything that have some kind of login option than that is not a wallet, but exchange with custodial app.
Only multicurrency wallet I know that have something called d2FA was called Zelcore.io, but I am not suggesting this wallet for keeping bigger amount of coins.
Zelcore have some kind of accounts but I think they are somehow connected with blockchain and they work without centralized servers.
2687  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 1inch Network's HW on: January 25, 2023, 10:34:32 PM
Judging from "these samples", I think the keyboard typing experience would be a nightmare [specifically referring to the "enter your pin code" window] for those who have fat fingers [I don't think the "change keyboard" option would significantly improve the situation].
Size of this device is like credit card so I am sure it will be easier to type than on Trezor Model T and on ledger two buttons system.
If you want hardware wallet devices that is easy to type on I would choose Passport , ColdCard or Keystone hardware wallet.

They did mention it'll be open-source in both of the links OP provided:
Thank you for correcting me, I missed that information somehow, and it's weird this was not clearly stated on their official website.
If this is true than I am expecting someone to fork this and add support for Bitcoin after they release it.
2688  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware Wallets that work with Smartphones? on: January 25, 2023, 10:28:23 PM
You're very welcome... Unfortunately, I can't think of a single word to replace the above terms, but perhaps we could remove the "adapter" part [it would still be user-friendly].
- If you're looking for a way to reduce the width of the table, I think we can also remove the "wireless" column.
I removed some words to make everything less wide, and I think people will understand what MicroUSB/USB-C means, it can be both adapter and OTG cable.

How about add Satochip and Satodime ?
Well, Satodime is not a hardware wallet because you can't sign using the device. It's more like an Opendime on steroid. Like a bearer cold storage solution.
But Satochip is a hardware wallet and is NFC enable. Today you can't use it with your smartphone cuz we dont have develop the mobile app part - yet. But it will come later this year !
Oh I knew this was coming, I think someone predicted you would ask me about this Cheesy
Sure I can add Satochip if it can be connected with smartphone, otherwise you will have to wait until mobile app is released.
You can post more information below if there is some workaround for mobile connection, but I won't add Satodime and similar devices in this table.
2689  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Unstoppable wallet {User experiences} on: January 25, 2023, 10:16:48 PM
I own a de Googled Android phone.  My only app store is F-Droid, which only publishes fully Open Source applications.
You can also use open source AuroraStore if you want to use some apps that are not open source, and there are good alternatives for F-Droid as well, like IzzyOnDroid and Droid-ify that have more apps.
Good option is to install apps directly from github source, it can be set up to auto-update as well with some workarounds, and that way you can install most Bitcoin wallets.

Then the Wallets available for Bitcoin were very lacking too.  Annoying as fuck.
I don't know what degoogled phone you own, but Pixels with GrapheneOS work almost with everything, they even have imitation of all google services.

My experience with Unstoppable Wallet is mostly extremely positive.  It lacks a few things here and there.  But I see improvements every update.  All the issues I had with it were solved within one to three updates.
It's important to mention that Unstoppable wallet is audited several times, and WalletScrutiny verified it can be reproduced from open source code.
Good thing is that I see new wallets are coming out that following similar path, and competition is always good to have.
2690  Economy / Reputation / Re: SBF-Ross Ulbricht on: January 25, 2023, 09:36:09 PM
Curious , do you think one deserves prison more as the other, one doesn't deserve prison? Both should be there? None should?

How do you guys think about what they did and should or shouldn't they belong in prison?
We live in a clown world and everything has reversed logic here.
I don't think Ross Ulbricht will ever be released, and I wouldn't be surprised to see SBF released or someone to ''suicide'' him in prison like Epstein.
I certainly don't think Ross Ulbricht deserves multiple lifetime sentences for creating a website, we know corrupt government officials stole BTC in that case, and Ross was framed for many things.
Never trust anything government or msm is telling you about Ross Ulbricht case or with anything else, they always have some hidden motives or they want to give an example to people.
What can I say about big nose SBF, he is a punk junky who openly worked with politicians and government, but I really can't compare this two cases.
2691  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Be careful with saxydev; he is a possible scammer on: January 25, 2023, 09:20:50 PM
Well there may be free AML checking tools, but the real Wakanda-grade security checks that incriminate you, me, and the neighbor's dog are very hard to get access to, so it could be possible that he has somehow gained (legit) access to such a tool.
Yeah sure, and he could also have access to nuclear switch button...  Cheesy

Be honest: you never expected to be paid 0.1 Bitcoin for this, right? So the "Deal. Let's see" was posted out of impulse, and changed within 20 minutes. Besides, saxydev couldn't gain anything from it, you didn't offer him 0.1 Bitcoin if you couldn't keep up your end of the deal.
I did expect it and it was fair price I asked for something I delivered, and he broke agreement we made.
Imagine if we made deal about anything else and I spent hours doing some work for him, than I found out he changed his mind later.
In any normal website for selling stuff he would get negative rating for that, and if I wanted to make a joke I would ask for much more Bitcoin from him.
Since I didn't receive promised Bitcoin, flag stays and if you don't agree Loycev you can always vote against it.
I simply don't trust this ''dev'' who changes mind and sells shitcoins snake oil.

you didn't offer him 0.1 Bitcoin if you couldn't keep up your end of the deal.
Why the heck would I have to pay him anything when I delivered website like I promised?!

I strongly dislike saxydev's "taint" BS service, but I don't think Bitcointalk will be a better place if we start Flagging users on what I call a temporary lack of judgement.
You can't seat on two chairs at the same time.

Flag against saxydev:

2692  Other / Meta / Re: Forum activity by year - Chart 2009-2022 on: January 25, 2023, 09:07:56 PM
Any theories?
There is nothing unusual about big spike of activity we had back in 2017 and 2018, most of the people heard about Bitcoin at that time and simple search would lead them to bitcointalk forum.
This was all connected with big increase of Bitcoin price, creation of many new shitcoins and ICO projects, everyone was mining the ''new bitcoin'' with GPU's and hoping to start early earning various tokens.
I remember days new projects started to pop up all the time, and we couldn't manage to report all the scams that played mostly on greed of people.
It's perfectly normal that this house of cards was going to collapse at some point and activity to get back in normal.
2693  Other / Meta / Re: How can I prevent my account from being hacked as newbie on: January 25, 2023, 08:58:56 PM
As a newbie in bitcointalk.org what is the best way to prevent membership account from being hacked. Account hacked can be the most painful occurrence any member will experience in this forum. What are the ways to recover an account if eventually it gets hacked. I just want to know to do things right.
You should use strong and unique password for our forum account that was never used before.
Maybe think about using new email account have 2fa protection that is connected only with bitcointalk account and nothing else.
Never click on any links you receive in forum messages, that is one of the main phishing attacks, and sign a message with Bitcoin address to prove your ownership.
Doing this will be enough to protect you account, but you can also limit IP addresses in settings if you want to go hard core (I don't suggest doing that).
2694  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: SCAM upozorenja Zbirni topic on: January 25, 2023, 07:09:11 PM

2695  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 1inch Network's HW on: January 24, 2023, 10:59:12 PM
Really? That's hilarious!
Yeah, I guess Bitcoin is not DeFi enough for them and they can't print it like they can with shitcoins and tokens Cheesy

Funny that all of this is specified, but nothing about the actually important specs: security and source. Will the hardware and software be open, reproducible and verifiable? What security chip will be used (if any)? At least they said it will use QR codes for airgapped communication.
I think they are aware if they release this device as open source without support for Bitcoin, people will just fork it and add new software with BTC support.
They can avoid that only by making it closed source, but we also don't know if there are secure elements and what microcontrollers they use.
On positive side, I want to see new generation Bitcoin hardware wallets start to implement waterproof and gorilla glass features as standard.

Can you post a link where it said that? It would be unwise, as a developer in crypto, to build a hardware wallet, then exclude Bitcoin.
Here is their founder Alexey Devyatkin confirming that for Decrypt, he really said they are Defi aka shitcoin hardware wallet:
Quote
“In fact, we call it the first DeFi hardware wallet, that’s why I believe BTC is outside the scope, however, WBTC will be supported,” Alexey Devyatkin, founder of the 1inch hardware wallet told Decrypt
https://decrypt.co/119559/defi-project-1inch-network-launches-hardware-wallet

It's not officially open/released to the public yet, I believe we should give it more time. Because that's going to be another unwise decision if they, as again developers, would make their software closed source. But if their market is the newbie-plebs during the next bull market, they might sell them in large numbers in a short amount of time. Cool
So what?
They already have website, waiting list, and most of the details available on hw.1inch.io
You don't have to be rocket scientist to understand what's going to happen.
2696  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Stack wallet for mobile? on: January 24, 2023, 10:42:43 PM
If fingerprint is enabled on the phone, why enabling fingerprint to access the wallet too is what I meant, it makes the wallet to be less secure regardless of the small amount of coin you have using the mobile wallet. Anyone can go for fingerprint, but letting them know how dangerous it can be is not bad at all.
Your statement doesn't make any sense to me.
Nothing can be less secure if you have multiple fingerprints in one device, for example you can use one fingerprint for phone, and for wallet you can use different finger with different fingerprint.
Or just don't use any fingerprints at all, because it's OPTIONAL for everything I mentioned.
Don0t get me wrong, I would be the first to complain if fingerprints are made mandatory for anything.
2697  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Be careful with saxydev; he is a possible scammer on: January 24, 2023, 10:02:46 PM
And again, I have changed my mind about the vote. It's my right.
I don't care about your crazy mind changes, you said that you agree and that is written deal, if you fail to comply and you violated deal we had, so I have full right to create flag against you.
I am happy to hear that you don't care what happens with your account, and I am calling everyone to support this flag against scamming liar saxydev:

2698  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Be careful with saxydev; he is a possible scammer on: January 24, 2023, 09:53:37 PM
Nope. Doesn't count.
It doesn't count because you say so?!
I will repeat again, you have 24 hours to send me 0.1 BTC because I sent what I promised, and nobody can compare something with invisible vaporware shitcoin serice you are offering.
If I don't receive Bitcoin by tomorrow I will create flag against you and give you negative feedback like I promised.
Have a nice day.
2699  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: January 24, 2023, 09:41:02 PM
But I already made yearly overview a week ago, I don't know how you missed it. Or you meant some other type of yearly overview?
Yeah I missed it obviously, maybe because I didn't feel so well last week and I was traveling for a few days in the same time, so I couldn't follow everything that is happening in the forum.
I remember you posted something similar overview of our local board but I think that happened earlier in January, and everything mixed in my head.
Good work for both of them, I just checked them again Wink

2700  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Be careful with saxydev; he is a possible scammer on: January 24, 2023, 09:25:13 PM
Deal. Let's see
OK, you initially accepted to pay me 0.1 Bitcoin if I post a website that can make free analytics and you need to honor that deal or I will consider you a scamming liar and give you negative tag.
Like I promised, I am keeping my word and I am posting one free website that is called antinalysis.org, so I will now post my BTC address and I expect to receive 0.1 BTC you promised to send me.
I know few more services that are doing similar things and I know few people wanted to created their own websites like this, but I previously said I will post only one website for 0.1 BTC, I can post more if you send me more bitcoins.
Saxydev you have 24 hours to pay what you promised to my address: bc1qnnkav38ze4uxhk0ac70g8lqcgxc37492lrpwr9

Now I am also barely waiting to see if he'll pay him doing the Houdini move, after dkbit98 will provide the links.
Nose on that image you posted is getting bigger and bigger, and I am patiently waiting to see ''dev'' reaction

PS
I am going to donate % of Bitcoin I receive from saxydev to randomly selected members who wrote in this topic before this post, so we can have nice party time  Cool
