Jel prati tko situaciju?
Kad govoroimo o robotima, pogledaj kako napreduje Boston Dynamics...

2503  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: New HW wallet announced: COLDCARD Q1 on: February 17, 2023, 07:16:21 PM
I'm pretty sure this won't fly at all in the EU. 🤷‍♂️
Yes they will fly and create so much waste and evil pollution with plane fuel burning... but I guess only usbc cables are creating waste in the world.  Cheesy

ok to play the devil's advocate - you get the usb-c cable with the coldcard. What good does it do with your lightning port iphone exactly?
Nothing, who said it has anything to do with iPhones?
Comparing smartphones that are sold in billions for decades I can somehow agree with their shitty tactics of removing chargers and cables in recent years.
But Coldcard is selling few hundred devices max, and they are already removing essential stuff for functioning of their devices.
I don't know any other hardware wallet brand that is doing this right now, so I have to criticize this stupid move.
2504  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: New HW wallet announced: COLDCARD Q1 on: February 17, 2023, 07:05:26 PM
At least in the EU apple is forced to switch to usb-c. Weather their shitty lightning through usb-c implementation will actually support data transfer on these devices - probably not because earning money through licencing lightning is too good of a deal for them - is a thing you should take up with apple.
Dream on and read the latest news about that iPhone topic.
They are planning to introduce payment charges fee and verification for this special cables, so you won't be able to use your universal usb-c type cable  Cheesy
Note that I am not a fan of iPhone at all, just trying to provide evidence that billions of people wont be able to use new coldcard device without paying extra money for new cable and new batteries.
Btw coldcard is based in Canada, that is North America, not EU.
2505  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Why doesn't every hardware wallet support two-factor seed phrases? on: February 17, 2023, 07:01:56 PM
notice i was referring to splitting up the passphrase not the seed phrase. two different things. splitting up the passphrase would still provide - could still provide - plausible deniability. you would just need to remember which part came first.
This is not a good idea, and remember that this is not ultimate protection for your assets, that can be brute force attacked, and keeping anything in your brain/memory is highly unreliable thing.
Please don't come up with this ''revolutionary'' splitting techniques for anything, because many security experts say that this is recipe for disaster.
People who are trying to make stuff to complex usually end up losing access to stuff they are trying to hide.

2506  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: New HW wallet announced: COLDCARD Q1 on: February 17, 2023, 06:52:48 PM
it's usb-c, it's quite the standard these days.
I guess iPhone users are screwed than and they can't use new coldcard wallet, but I guess that is nothing...''only'' around billion people use iPhone devices right now... especially in North America.

We need to progress past triple A's I think, and establish a slightly better, at least bigger capacity battery. I've used 18650s for a lot of things, and they function decently well for most things. Aren't as common as your double A's, and triple A's though. However, they aren't some specialised hardware, and can be picked up relatively cheaply, and easily from a variety of places.
I agree, especially when we have examples what happened with Foundation Passport and Keystone essential.
When you are not shipping device with batteries it's just another way to cut on production cost, that is something coldcard is trying to do with upcoming device.
It's much better strategy that Passport used in their new device, using the same rechargeable battery that was used in old Nokia phones.
2507  Other / Meta / Re: The curious case of sticky topics created by authors with negative Trust on: February 17, 2023, 06:42:52 PM
Opinions?
How about banned members with negative trust?
Lauda also had negative trust even before he left the forum and got banned, other members found some cases when he did plagiarism in his early days, but I think we have several sticky topics from him.
Some of them can be found in Beginners & Help, others in our local board, and maybe there are other stickies I didn't notice.

I have nothing against members you mentioned in your example, but maybe it's time to check again all sticky topics and update what is needed.
It's not only issue with negative trust, but I think some topics are really outdated and others need to be deleted.

2508  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor T showing wrong balance? on: February 17, 2023, 05:14:50 PM
I have a Trezor T model connected to the suite. It works but I have a problem with the balance showing a different amount to blockchain explorers. I have a extra 0.0042 in my account on my Trezor but I have checked all addresses and I only have 1 address with Bitcoin in it and that is the one that is displaying around 0.0042 more. What am I missing?
Did you check what Bitcoin amount is exactly showing on Trezor Suite app?
I wouldn't trust all bitcoin explorers (mempool.space is not bad), and maybe there are some unconfirmed transactions or change addresses that are not shown.
Maybe try to to reset and resync of Trezor Suite, and install latest version v23.2.1

I have not touched this wallet in a while and I am worried that it might have been compromised. I have updated the firmware today and it is still showing the same 0.0042 difference. Should I try sending some btc to a address to confirm that my trezor is working? and has not been compromised and showing a wrong balance because it has been hacked?
Compromised how exactly?
You can easily check you addresses and see if there are any outgoing transactions, and I hope you didn't enter your seed phrase on some shady websites.
Using Trezor wallet I would suggest using passphrases that are not stored anywhere for better protection of your coins.

I find it hard to believe that my hardware wallet has been hacked because it has not been accessed since creation. The seed was created at initial setup and was backed up and no btc has been transferred from my address it just shows the wrong amount on the suite. I have tried the web suite and the app they both show the same amount.
Hackers don't need to have physical access to your device if you give them seed words yourself.
I never had any problems with Trezor Suite showing wrong amounts, but it's literally impossible to see different amounts for address that didn't have any transactions...
2509  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledgner Nano X - Turns off immediately on: February 17, 2023, 05:01:55 PM
I have a problem with my NANO X. This morning when I try to turn it on it shuts down immediately. I tried to load it but it didn't help. Has any of you had the same problem?
You are not the only one having problems with ledger nano x model.
This is one of the worst piece of crap hardware wallets available today, and they have many problems with cheap batteries they are installing in this devices.
Try connecting your device with cable instead to see if it works, and try resetting your device, but it could also be a problem with firmware update that creates problem.

I wrote about ledger nano X problems few years ago, but they are still happening very much, and I heard they have problems with latest ledger live app:

2510  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin testnet faucets and scam ads on: February 17, 2023, 04:48:52 PM
So there's this bitcoin testnet faucet, which I believe has been around for some years now, that started to display some scam ads (or maybe this is the first time I'm noticing it)
I don't see a big issue with this, especially when we know that g00gle is doing worse things with their ads for years.
This is the first time I heard about this Bitcoin testnet faucet, but I can see they are using some affiliate id links starting with tracking.affid21221il.
They are probably earning tiny amount of money for this, but it pays for domain and they probably don't care what is shown in this ads.
2511  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Forget about exchanger search! Use BestChange! on: February 17, 2023, 04:33:12 PM
This data can be transferred confidently, and they will not give potential scammers any benefit even if something happens to the exchanger.
However, you need to blur the expiry date and the CVC code on the card if it is written on the same side. You don’t have to provide the back side of the card.
They don't have to abuse this personal information, but that can also happen because you can't guarantee it won't, however there is high probability that sometime in future this data can be hacked.
We don't know who exactly is storing this data. We don't know who exactly is using this data and if they are sharing it with other third parties. We don't know anything.
Hiding expiry date and CVC is not a bad idea, but I bet many people are not doing it or they are not doing it correctly.
I would not use any exchanges that ask me to send them something like this.
2512  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: February 17, 2023, 04:20:05 PM
And the lying mf beach chips or fuck stole it. Beware of this lying douchebag.
Or you are not being very smart and didn't follow the instructions and used correct address for sending coins.
First thing, you should never post your restore link in public like this with session token, but I guess you know everything and it doesn't matter to you so much because you are smartass... Roll Eyes
Make sure that you transaction is confirmed because I see deposit address on that link and it is showing no transactions, so check if you used correct fees before making accusations, and wait for Chipmixer team to reply.
Not to mention that you posted your private keys in public...

2513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs CBDC on: February 17, 2023, 03:52:37 PM
Is anyone following what is happening with Nigerian terrible experiment of removing all cash and introducing their own CBDC digital currency eNaira?
Demonstrations and riots are happening everywhere, people are pissed off and many banks and ATM machines are burned and destroyed.
I guess rulers want for people to have nothing and be happy

This planned CBDC virus is spreading fast, so we already have Japan announcing their own CBDC pilot program starting in April, similar time like Russia:
https://decrypt.co/121584/japan-announces-launch-new-cbdc-pilot-april

Similar thing is happening with central bank of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that plans to release CBDC digital dirham:
https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2023/02/13/uae-plans-to-issue-a-cbdc-to-promote-digital-payments/

One European country Montenegro is working with Ripple on their digital currency pilot project:

2514  Other / Meta / Re: Dark mode on Bitcointalk on: February 17, 2023, 03:41:31 PM
Is there a way to add dark mode to the forum?
There is no dark theme switch, but you can install custom themes or use extensions and add-ons with dark themes, BPIP would be nice option that enable many other useful stuff for bitcointalk.

I don't know what web browser you use, but for Chrome or Brave browser you can do one small trick to enable dark theme for all websites, and all that without installing any script or extension.
You can do this by entering this text in your browser address bar: chrome://flags/#enable-force-dark

You can Enable any option you like most, restart your browser and you can always return back to Default option.

2515  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: frozenkrill: a minimalist Bitcoin wallet focused on cold storage on: February 16, 2023, 10:05:45 PM
Krill is particularly important to whales but it's also the basis of the food chain of other sea animals. Krill lives in cold waters but if you want to hodl them for a long time it's better to store them frozen  Wink
I heard about Krill, other than whales, people are also consuming them (maybe even Bitcoin whales) in a form of Omega3 pills, they say it's better quality then Omega3 from fish and it has specific red color.

frozenkrill is a CLI only, so it doesn't need a graphical system (like the X server in Unix systems) which let it run on very lean operating systems. This reduces the attack surface.
Thank you for very detailed explanation.
I know this can often be advantage for geeks and linux users, but majority of people are mostly using wallets with graphical interface.
It is good to see that you are using stronger encryption for frozenkrill wallet, but I would like to see other security experts testing it for potential bugs.
2516  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [Tutorial] BlueWallet - Bitcoin Wallet Discussion on: February 16, 2023, 09:50:53 PM
Has anyone tried this feature out?
I tried Payjoin in different wallets and I think it's cool to have, but none of my regular contacts was using it so it never became my standard bitcoin privacy tool.

What other wallets have this feature?  In casual searching, I have not found any easy-to-use wallets that do have Payjoin.
I think I tested it in Samourai mobile wallet, but I saw it was available in very good Sparrow desktop wallet.
However, I am not sure if all Payjoins are equal and compatible between wallets.

How about merchants (or other recipients) who use this feature?
BTCPay Server is using them, but other than that I didn't saw them in any merchants that accept Bitcoin.

Is Payjoin finally getting popular?
I don't think so, but Ordinals are ''popular'' now  Cheesy
2517  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Ballet wallets on: February 16, 2023, 09:39:15 PM
I have bought almost every type of hardware wallet,
Why the heck would you do that? You are making some collection or what? Roll Eyes

I’ve been using ballet wallets. In conjunction with a ledger. I really like the ballet the best. Just looking for feedback
Ballet wallet can not really be considered a hardware wallet, it's more like collectibles item, and it is not secure enough to be good cold wallet, despite what developers are saying.
Someone else generated private keys and they know about them, so you need to trust them and everyone in manufacturing chain... that is a lot of weak points.
If you like card format for hardware wallets, there are better options you can explore, some of them are even open source.
2518  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Sign and verify easily with BitcoinMessageTools on: February 16, 2023, 09:15:04 PM
This is looking very good and I think it can be useful for bitcoin community, but I have few suggestions.
I think you should add warning that anyone using this website should be very careful and know all the risks before importing private keys, or maybe you could enable some workaround for doing this offline with added encryption password.

Is Bitcoin Message Tool compatible with other wallets for verification of messages?

PS
I will test it tomorrow to see how it works.
2519  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance to Airdrop $100 to Turkey Earthquake region affected users on: February 16, 2023, 09:02:35 PM
There's something even worse than that.
Take a look at their charity program. They collect BTC and ETH from people as donation to earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria and instead send BUSD to some NGOs.
Giving the same BUSD token that is probably going to stop existing soon after Paxos was accused for connection with Binance and BUSD... brilliant plan.  Roll Eyes

Well, who is stopping you from minting billions of dkbitcoins and sending some to people in Turkey and Syria?  Grin
I don't have any propaganda machinery to say that my dkbitshitcoins have any value, and I don't have bunchj of Bitcoins like CZ to pay all the shillers and bots.
Would you like to be the first to receive dkbit coin, if it ever comes out? Wink

Does CZ have ulterior motive here? Most likely. But I wish all other exchanges sent some crypto to affected users in Turkey and Syria even if they are just trying to attract more users that way. I am sure that people in Turkey wouldn't have anything against that.
Yeah, I agree crypto donations are probably best way to donate directly to people without any third party, and I know for a fact that all fiat donation programs are abused all the time.
Btw Rikafip did you feel local earthquake today?

2520  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance to Airdrop $100 to Turkey Earthquake region affected users on: February 16, 2023, 06:32:04 PM
What is your reaction to this news ?
I feel sorry for the people, but If I had full control for printing of my own centralized coin ''dkbit'' I would send more than $100 of dkbit.
In the same time CZ Binance spent millions by burning BNB all the time to create fake sense of scarcity and increase it's value... something to think about.

That won't be possible to happen because in order to quality for the airdrop you had to go through Proof of Address prior to February 6th, which was the day of the  earthquake. So basically only those who already did KYC on Binance and are from specific areas (so not whole Turkey) will get $100 worth of BNB.
CZ is not so stupid to give free $100 of his own printed out of thing air BNB shitcoin to all Turkish citizens, and he is hoping to attract more people with this donation campaign.
But why are they donating only people from Turkey, what about people from Syria who are also heavily affected by this earthquake?
