2461  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: yahoo62278 scammed the forum with his fake donation (part 2) on: February 23, 2023, 08:31:22 PM
He's not gone. He has been harassing me on telegram and messaging past clients whom I ran campaigns for. I guess he thinks he's doing something, but he's not.

I'm sure he will pop up on here again and give everyone a free post or 2.
He sounds a lot like some lunatic, and I can only imagine how he is doing stiff like this in real life to other people... I would personally record all his threats and harassment.
Sorry for asking, but can you take a wild guess why he is being so suspicious about your health condition, and why he is so persistent to get return for his alleged donation?
I am sure he is coming back with some new account soon...
2462  Economy / Reputation / Re: CoinPayCard.net ALERT on: February 23, 2023, 08:10:00 PM
I didn't like this from the beginning, just because of the way of communication and a lot of illogic behind them. for some reason, posts with a negative connotation in their ANN are no longer deleted as if they gave up on that and that's why it sounds like an exit scam to me.
I feel the same way, that is why I can sometimes sound harsh to new crypto business that appears in forum, it's my basic test or litmus paper for scams.
They really tried to cover their tracks with creating and locking bunch of topics, arguing with me and other members, and in the end they offered me again free cards in PM.
Few members took those fee cards and they defended them, so I find them partially responsible for potential scam.

Not trying to defend them or anything, but I want to write about my experience with this issue.
Not trying so hard, but you are (again) defending them  Roll Eyes
API problem does not explain why there is NO support, why that page is missing from their website, why there is no reply on telegram and in bitcointalk forum....

The customer support pages were always unresponsive the whole time - I only got answers via forum PM.
This is not true!
I personally asked them several questions with support on their website, and now their whole support page is down.
You should be really careful next time when you accept shady offers like this in public, especially since you are in DT1 if that crap is relevant at all anymore Roll Eyes
Let's not forget that you did a review for them, as agreed:

Well strangely the ANN thread is locked, but I made an agreement with CoinPayCard to post my review of their card, so I will put it here.

I got a hold of the $99 Basic CoinPayCard, which has a $200 monthly spending limit and tried it out for a week. Here was my experience with that.

First of all it is a virtual card so I wasn't expecting to be able to buy physical stuff it, so I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to link it to an eBay and Newegg account - although I did not attempt to buy anything with it on those sites, see below for why.

My first purchase was a WinRAR license key (because I happen to be a huge nerd). I had set it to send me en email of the key, instead of any physical shipment. However, that order was declined. I'm not sure why, but the WinRAR people were manually processing that order. Hence why I decided not to buy anything on ecommerce sites.

Though, I have successfully purchased a number of other stuff with it, using different payment processors:

- Github Pro
- Bootstrap Studio
- a bunch of Udemy courses (this used Stripe)

Note: I tried to top up my Vast.ai account with this card, but it was declined, even thoigh it also uses Stripe. That's probably because computing vendors have an anti-VCC policy, in general.

So this card will work almost everywhere (except for cloud computing sites).

I loaded the card using a P2P transfer of USDT and also using ChangeNOW, and did not encounter any problems. I really got my money's worth out of it and will definitely use it some more.

Still not a bunch of people I would want to deal with, due to their attitude and the T&C they have.
Especially after I tried real hard to prove a point and show how shady they are.
2463  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Doing some work for Saxydev, Earned $90 but Never received the Payment.  on: February 23, 2023, 07:55:46 PM
Going to sleep, brb 48-72 hrs
saxydev is apparently counting time different from normal people, so from his ''brb sleep 48-72 hrs'' that was posted on February 13th passed more than 240 hours.
This is one more lie on the list of his lies, and it's not surprising that he came up with this new excuse of not storing keys locally and sending them to some unknown ''trusted'' forum member...
I can't wait to see what he is going to post next, and yes I almost forgot to say... I still didn't receive 0.1 BTC from him, but there is still hope...
2464  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hardware wallet questions on: February 23, 2023, 07:43:48 PM
I want to know how a hardware wallet works, assuming I download the Electrum bitcoin wallet right now and I decide not to use the wallet again, I can just restart the wallet and get rid of the keys and the wallet will generate a new recovery seed for me, is this the same with hardware wallet?
You don't really need to know how hardware wallets exactly work, in a same way you don't know how any other things in the world work.
I never heard anyone getting rid of keys from software wallet by restarting, you need to uninstall wallet and maybe delete few more files.
You can easily perform reset operation on most hardware wallets, and then import of generate news seed words, and everything is done offline, that is the difference from software wallets.

* Can a Trezor or hardware wallet generate a new private key or recovery seed?
You can't generate new private keys, but you can wipe the device and generate or import new seed words.

* Can a hardware wallet be formatted and start afresh?
Yes.
It's not the same procedure for all hardware wallets, but it can be done.
I would even recommend doing this first time you buy hardware wallet, to be sure your generated seed words works correctly.
2465  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Warning]: Stealc Info stealer on: February 23, 2023, 07:36:13 PM
A new info stealer dubbed as "Stealc" has been discovered, which is similar to Vidar and Raccoon malware.
Can you tell me how to install this scary Stealc malware to Linux operating system, I am asking for a friend? Wink

Most of this malicious software is made for wiNd0ws OS, so best protection is not with installing bunch of antivirus programs, but it is in switching to good Linux OS.
All bitcoin wallets work perfectly fine on Linux, and you don't have to pay anything to someone who is spying and monitoring you 24/7.
I am recommending Fedora or Debian, but newbies can also try Linux Mint or Zorin OS, if they want gradual transition.
2466  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Foundation Devices 'Passport Batch 2' hardware wallet review on: February 22, 2023, 11:12:28 PM
I don't know about all that.  First off, I refuse to load my hardware wallets into my phone.  I have a few hundred bucks in my hot wallet, and that's usually all I need.
You are not ''loading'' anything on your phone, it's just interface and your keys/coins are still on hardware wallet.
Some cards work with laptop, so you can carry that with yourself, you can even carry your whole mobile office if you want along with ugly fake calculator.

And realistically a "cheap calculator" is less likely to get stolen than a credit card.
It's fake calculator that can't work without cable or some weird battery gadget, so only an idiot would think this is real calculator, but I could argue that you would be very much suspicious and draw attention because people don't use calculators anymore.

Third, I don't know how you can say that NFC chips will last for decades.  They haven't even been around for decades, and mine start failing after keeping them in my wallet for a couple of years.
I never said NFC chips will last decades, but they probably will last long time.
I was speaking about material cards are made off, same as credit cards... it's common fact they can last decades, and some of them are waterproof or made of metal.
Nothing can break and there are no mechanical parts, no screen and no buttons, so they are very durable.

Don't you worry. I just saw on their website, they now offer the perfect pants to carry it around. Wink
Oh great, price matches new ColdBerry perfectly, so let's buy reserve one pair for DireWolf in camo color combination and super BIG pockets so he can blend in everywhere with his portable devices Grin
2467  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Foundation Devices 'Passport Batch 2' hardware wallet review on: February 22, 2023, 07:05:16 PM
As for other devices, the Nano S and the ColdCard are probably the best designs from an "incognito" perspective.
If you want incognito hardware wallet, than I guess best option for you is credit card format hardware wallets (Tangem, Satochip, etc.) that don't have any screen, and they communicate with application on smartphone.
You can carry this card format wallets in your wallet, most of them are waterproof, and can last for decades... all other hardware wallets are not incognito at all, and I saw most of them.

I agree with the Ledger, but ColdCard looks pretty odd, even more than an old candybar phone, no? Especially when connecting a 9V battery with a dangling cable to power it on.
hahaha....imagine having all this stuff in your pocket as ''portable'' device Cheesy
And for new gigantic ColdCard Q1 device you probably need to have some special kind of pockets.

Yeah, the Passport is very comfortable to use, and ergonomically superior to other brands.  It's worth noting the weight of the wallet as well; it comes off heavy at first, but it's heft feels good when using it with one hand.  Just something for the weight-conscious professional cyclists to consider.  Tongue
I think that Passport is lighter than most smartphones but it could be even lighter if they used cheaper materials.
My question is what happens with Passport if it falls on ground  Smiley because I have a bad habit of dropping things, phones, etc.
Did anyone conduct any testing, even accidental drop test?

so maybe sometimes NOT having a device that has a removable battery might be better than having a device with removable batteries.. when crossing borders.
Again, best option for this is credit card style hardware wallets, that is mixed with regular cards and paper bills in your leather wallet.
2468  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 26 Hardware Wallets, compared feature by feature on: February 22, 2023, 06:59:00 PM
Now comparing 28 hardware wallets, feature by feature
Thank you for keeping this spreadsheet updated maxirosson.
I have one suggestion, can you please add dimension/size for all devices (cm/inch), since you already added weight and most of the other things?
I am especially interested to find out exact dimensions for new ColdCard Q1 device.
2469  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor with Exodus wallet recovery on: February 22, 2023, 06:37:40 PM
So my question now is; which wallet can I use to recover my Exodus wallet with the Trezor sub-wallet and see the balances in both of these wallets and have full control over it?
In other words; which wallet does the same trick as Exodus?
This is not a trick, and I wouldn't use Exodus wallet with Trezor device because it's closed source wallet.
I was wondering how did you first start using Trezor wallet and generated seed phrase if you didn't follow Trezor instructions, something stinks in your story, but whatever.
Trezor Suite is open source default software for Trezor wallet, and it is supporting shitcoin you want, but you can confirm that yourself on trezor website:
https://trezor.io/coins

PS
In my opinion it's not a good idea to keep many shitcoins in hardware wallets, it would be the same thing like keeping a bunch of bananas in secure vault.

2470  Economy / Reputation / CoinPayCard.net ALERT on: February 22, 2023, 05:46:17 PM
Warning to everyone who is using CoinPayCard.net cards! Do not deposit any more coins there!
There are several reports from people who send money that never got credited, and they are not responding to their customers anywhere, with support page showing 404 Page Not Found error.
People tried contacting their support on website, telegram, using email, forum account Account CoinPayCard.net was online yesterday and they saw complains from other member but they didn't reply anything in public nor with personal messages.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3521103

Let's see what happens now, but don't forget who was the guy who warned about them when they first showed up in forum...

Yoo my card balance was not updated after I funded it

Looks like someone has the same problem as well
I wouldn't trust any of trustpilot feedbacks, it's obviously paid and fake, like that five star from Cameron Chapman saying how Coinpaycard is a very trustable token  Roll Eyes
There are few negative reviews, but more problematic is the fact that they are not responding anywhere (forum, telegram, website, email), and they clearly saw posts and messages from yesterday in forum.
I warned about them in past, and if they don't fix this problem soon you can create a topic in Scam Accusation section against them, and provide all the evidence you can (images, communication, etc).
Can you still login and access your account?
2472  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [β] BPIP Extension: user info & extra features add-on/extension, Firefox/Chrome on: February 22, 2023, 05:14:34 PM
After the last tor update, the extension is no longer working. All the options are disabled, and if I try to enable them again, after a refresh they go to disabled again.
Any tips??
I think last extension update was released years ago, somewhere in December 2020, so it must be something related with your browser.
I tested on Firefox and Chrome based browsers using BPIP extension 2.2.5 and everything works fine in both cases.
Try installing different browser and test how everything works, but I think this could be related with your browser last update, not with extension.
2473  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Questions about Bitcoin Node on: February 22, 2023, 02:31:48 PM
1-If I deploy my bitcoin node, do I have to transfer my crypto from my trezor over to my new wallet?
No.
Keep coins in your Trezor wallet as offline storage.
Running bitcoin node has nothing to do with your other coins.

2-When creating a Umbrel account, a seed phrase is generated, is that seed phrase related to my wallet, or only to Umbrel?
I am sure it's not related with your wallet, but better ask Umbrel support about that or check their documentation.

3-Does it matters if I keep my node running on a laptop vs raspberri pi? (due to raspberry prices, It seems cheaper to just buy a laptop and install Umbrel on it)
Running your node on RaspberryPi is cheaper and it spends much less electricity, but if you already have old laptop with Linux OS that will work perfectly.
I don't remember how Umbrel works exactly, so you need to check documentation for setup instreuctions.

4-Is it safe to use a third party software to connect my trezor or a ledger to my bitcoin node?
It's safe if they are open source wallets like Electrum or Sparrow wallet, but I wouldn't connect anything suspicious.

5- I noticed that Ledger allows you to connect to your own node, is that a good option instead of using a third party software to connect it?
If you can better use other open source wallet with Ledger, because their ledger live app is one of the worst craps I ever saw.
2474  Local / Off-topic (Hrvatski) / Re: Kutak za kulturni trenutak (filmovi, serije, knjige etc) on: February 22, 2023, 02:06:15 PM
https://www.thehighestofstakes.com/

Two for the Money (2005) Matthew McConaughey i Al Pacino... dobra kombinacija.
2475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does anybody know the documentary starring theymos? on: February 21, 2023, 08:58:20 PM
Does anyone know which one is the movie starring theymos? Or, in case it's none of these movies, does anybody know a documentary where he appears?
Why don't you ask him yourself?
It's just one message away and I am sure he will tell you the truth Smiley
Joke aside, I know Roger Ver mentioned Theymos a lot in his interviews, so it's possible they made some documentary to discredit him, maybe while Roger joined forces with Faketoshi CSW.
On the other hand, Bitcointalk forum has been mentioned many times in documentaries, and I think that is more important.
2476  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Foundation Devices 'Passport Batch 2' hardware wallet review on: February 21, 2023, 08:26:16 PM
To be honest, I don't like that the hardware wallet is shaped like a mobile phone. That makes it more susceptible to theft, since there are a lot of cellphone thieves lurking about in many parts of the world. It doesn't help that it also looks flashy - the bronze look just serves to attract more eyeballs to it.
I don't know any thieves who are hunting to steal old style devices looking like phones, and you certainly wont bring Passport device glued to your forehead, or put in on the coffee shop table for everyone to see.

What's wrong with making it a paper shape or a bracket or even like the Trezor & Ledger - plain designs that do not bring any attention.
There are so many wrong things with this tiny design, starting from entering words/numbers, to small screens that can display and verify the whole address, they are cheap and break easily, etc.
And why the heck would they have to copy what others are doing? Passport is unique, they are the first who made this design and now ColdCard is doing similar BlackBerry design.
You have the choice, so use what you like most.

...
I would certainly like to see skins and cases for Passport wallet, for protection from scratches, drops and maybe more.

That is unfortunate and I hope you didn't deposit a lot of money, but it's not the first time that happened, email address is not working, and there is no support page.
Have you tried contacting them in forum with personal messages and telling them about your issue, I see they have been active today in forum.
There is also option to contact them on their telegram account @coinpaycard (it's in their profile page).
2479  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bisq - Exchange, Decentralized. on: February 21, 2023, 05:09:09 PM
If there is interest for such functionality, I'd look into suggesting it to the Bisq development team or do some work on it myself.
It's interesting idea, but I would rather like to see some light version of Bisq exchange that could run on mobile devices.
Maybe you won't be able to use all features from desktop version, but you could make trades and do basic functions.
I am waiting to see what is going to happen when Bisq 2.0 comes out, and I heard some rumors release is not far away, and this will be a major change.
I would wait for this new release to come out before making any new suggestions to Bisq devs.
2480  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: February 21, 2023, 05:00:13 PM
I used to have a good risk score when using this mixer, but now it is 100%, and marked ChipMixer.
Can you tell us what is that service or website you used to check your ''risk score''?
We had one scammer who was actually selling service like this, and I can't believe people would pay for crap like this.
My suggestion is to use that Bitcoin directly when you purchase something, or exchange it for fiat using p2p trading , just don't send it to centralized exchanges, and you won't have any problem.

Might be a block explorer? They sometimes have basic 'blockchain analysis' built-in that shows who is the owner of some address and similar. Since it talks about risk, it does seem like some sort of site where the user deposited money. Could be an exchange, could just as well be a poker or gambling site.
I don't think any blockchain explorer should do stuff like this, if they do than they are probably collecting all IP address and other things from your browser.
