Ordering another!  I just sold one to an office co-worker!  Woot!

Haha. Way to go!
3442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Bus - We will print it on a real bus! on: June 01, 2012, 06:30:37 PM
What city is the bus in?

I'd guess in Denmark!
3443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Bus - We will print it on a real bus! on: June 01, 2012, 06:13:35 PM
Why do I get the feeling someone will eventually put CP on the bus. This will end badly.
3444  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITCOIN MAGAZINE ARRIVED! on: June 01, 2012, 05:42:19 PM
Even Finland got some love! I grabbed my order today from the post office. I haven't had the time to read it yet but it looks great. The order actually arrived many days ago but I was on a trip so I couldn't grab them earlier. I will post my thoughts about the magazine later once I've had the time to read it through.

Thanks for letting us know!

Looking forward to your opinions!

I stand corrected. I have lost touch of my American roots.

This is a real American.

They did a great job on the Magazine.

Thanks! Since the first issue was produced we've brought in more writers, put together a much larger art department that can produce illustrations twice as fast, and found a few more reliable printers that won't leave a smear. Look forward to the quality increasing round #2.

By issue #6 people are going to completely forget they ever said it was a scam. THATS WHEN ILL SCAM THEM MUAHAHAH*

*I'll scam them by tearing out a random page in each issue sent out so that they never know what it was.  Kiss

You will need some SERIOUS pentesting, if it was vuln to xss...

Of course. The only thing that's been online so far is a development pre-beta. Can't wait to see this baby in full swing soon.

Because I don't want to spam, should we be including all articles in the Bitcoin Magazine here as well?

New shirt at SearchingForSatoshi.com. If you haven't rigged your miners to your hot tub, yet, here's the next best thing:

ROFL.
3451  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Business Idea - Taxi service on: June 01, 2012, 07:22:34 AM
I imagine bitcoiners are not much into driving.

I can't begin to understand that statement. I can't speak for anyone else (except maybe Roger Ver who I know loves BMWs) but I have been drifting and street racing for years. If anything, I guess I should be a Bitcoin Taxi then. At least passengers would get a wild ride.

(I tried driving with a horse mask, it's just too difficult.)
3452  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITCOIN MAGAZINE ARRIVED! on: May 31, 2012, 04:54:18 PM
Hi, I'm Vitalik Buterin, currently the main writer for the magazine (and I'm sure you guys all know me from the website Smiley ).

The writers made some assumptions about their audience in some of the pieces here and there, which makes some of the content fly over the heads of the newbies.

Thank you for this kind of criticism. I would be glad to hear what people's non-technical wives, grandparents, husbands, etc think about the content in the Bitcoin magazine - both the technical "how stuff works" (which is intended to be a series) and the more business-themed pieces. It's difficult for both me and everyone I work with to imagine reading our magazine without having been exposed to the various technical intricacies, historical events and cultural memes that our community is so steeped with, so we would benefit greatly from that kind of feedback.

Thanks for your openness on this.

I've recently placed the magazine into the hands of folks who are interested, but not exactly technically savvy. I'll be sure to check on what they found easy to digest, and what they didn't, and comment on it.

I love you.

Just sayin'.
3453  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is MtGox going crazy or manipulating? on: May 31, 2012, 01:49:51 PM
Sorry guys, that was me. I tripped over a wire in my control console for the Bitcoin network and made the price fluctuate.
3454  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITCOIN MAGAZINE ARRIVED! on: May 31, 2012, 01:32:33 PM
Since our printers seem to think that it is not likely that smearing could have occurred in issues sent to our readers, I ask that anyone who experiences smearing on their pages please email a photo of it along with their name, address and page and location on page on which the smearing happened to info@bitcoinmagazine.co.uk so that I can use it in a claims process.

If enough people can prove it, I believe we might get them to reprint and reship for free (good for everyone!)

3455  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Crypto X Change (cryptoxchange.com) gone! Scam! Beware! on: May 31, 2012, 08:29:43 AM
Bottom line gentlemen, if a legally licensed and publicly advertised exchange stole $100k of legitimate customer funds, the owner of those funds would fly to Australia, meet with Ken in person, contact the authorities, file a lawsuit, etc, not argue on a forum.

For that reason, I think the OP is just a Russian scammer who got caught. Too bad.
3456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN MAGAZINE IS A SCAM? on: May 31, 2012, 08:10:21 AM
Looking forward to receiving. Hope it isnt another BFL type situation and ship it to my old address Wink

Strangely enough I had a dream that I went into work and there was a magazine on my desk. my natrual reaction is omg bitcoin.

This was not the case, it seemed my project manager had decided to hand out copys of white dwark (wtf?).

I think it means Il go mental if this is a letdown Wink

So long as you updated info@bitcoinmagazine.co.uk with your new address you will have no problem with that. Wink
3457  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Attention All Scammers!!! on: May 31, 2012, 07:05:39 AM
If you seriously plan on maintaining this thread, maybe you could not fill it with random images and posts, cause I doubt anyone is gonna read it beyond a page or two otherwise and the thread will fail to serve it's purpose.

That is the purpose.
3458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IEEE Spectrum report on the future of money on: May 31, 2012, 06:22:48 AM

I really like this as well. Look forward to infographics like these and more in the Bitcoin Magazine in the future. We were a bit too busy last month to include more than 2 into the first issue. I agree with our marketing lead Mihai Alisie that they are crucial for bringing new blood.

Seems decent, except for the "public key cryptography 101" box: analogy with a pair of keys is confusing and wrong. My favorite explanation is the one I stumbled upon on this forum (not sure if Netrin came up with it or he adopted it) -

Yeah. Here's a magical analogy for public key cryptography: I generate a private key and numerous public unlocked treasure chests. I give these open treasure chests to all of my friends (it's easy to copy them). Whenever a friend wants to send me a message, they just put the message in my public treasure chest and close the lid. Now even they can not open it again. Only I, with my unique private key, can open the chest.

After I generated the public keys, I don't really need them any more, unless I want to send messages to myself. But no one needs the private key to lock a message. The private key is only required to open a message.

Love it.

Matthew going to Iceland? Please steer clear of the Katla caldera and the Eyjafjallajökull, Europe has enough issues as it is!

Well actually, we could do with some issues…

Anything you think I should cover in Iceland for the Bitcoin Magazine? I'm not sure what the Bitcoiner scene is there.
3460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN MAGAZINE IS A SCAM? on: May 30, 2012, 09:35:47 PM
Don't laugh, but rumor has it that the Amish are starting their own BlockChain.

Amish guy in power wheelchair LOL...either that or they are all like "what is this sorcery?"

Rofl. MAGNETS? HOW DO THEY WORK?

Most of the Amish I knew as a kid were brilliant as all hell. They know about most things, they just choose to be apart from it.
