3542  Economy / Economics / Re: Am I misunderstanding this or? on: May 16, 2012, 10:44:42 AM
Why would the majority of the people that have bitcoins spend them if they know bitcoins are becoming scarce (wich equals to more value) while time passes?
And to get the value of bitcoin raising you need a running economy right?
Doesn't these two things conflict with each other or am I misunderstanding something here?

Thanks for enlighting.

-Grouver-

Replace "bitcoin" with "gold" and you might be able to answer that yourself.
3543  Economy / Services / Re: De-troll Bitcoin on: May 16, 2012, 10:39:54 AM
That will also end well
I appreciate your opinion that it will end well, but I'm curious why it matters to you if you're not going to be a part of it?
3544  Economy / Services / Re: De-troll Bitcoin on: May 16, 2012, 10:00:10 AM

Why can't we gang up on them too with actual truth coming in from all directions?

Ahahahaha. "Trolling for truth?" Smiley This won't end well.

What, you've never mower astroturf before?  Wink

Uhh, no.
3547  Economy / Services / De-troll Bitcoin on: May 16, 2012, 07:59:26 AM
Why should internet trolls be allowed to gang up on people who have a point and spread FUD and misdirection? Why can't we equally use our numbers against them too so that they lose their misdirecting powers? 1 for 1!

Trolls (name your site, reddit, SA, anywhere) get their power from their anonymity and numbers. They succeed in doing what they do because their targets are spread thinly, they remain anonymous, and because they are anonymous they don't need to back up anything they say.

Since we are the ones trying to change the world for the better and they seem to be the uptight assholes with an agenda against innovation, we have to stick together for our causes. Every initiative uses fuel though, and I think money might be a good kind.

This particular campaign is related to an internet community that Bitcoin could be used quite well in given the right understanding of it. Unfortunately, like many places, WIRED magazine's article about how "bitcoin has already failed" and inbred hatred of anything free and open has caused a bias. This means that if anyone mentions "bitcoin", 10 anonymous accounts pop-up calling it a scam and saying that person talking about it is probably trying to sell something etc.

You cannot win an argument if your voice is not as loud as the opponents unfortunately, and as is with society, louder voices win even if they're flat out lying. We need to at least match the voice of detraction. For every 10 fake accounts that cannot defend a point, we need 10 real people willing to argue it. Think of it like a chess game that I want to pay to be played.

There is no "winning" this game, but losing the game because something nocked the pieces off the board or told you to look in another direction while they placed their queen next to your king is cheating. Trolls cheat. They cannot win a real argument, and it takes power-in-numbers to make a troll infested place into a platform where a real debate can take place.

I will update the spots below regarding vacancies in the campaigns. The payment will be decided based off of donations and private investments.

PM me for more information. (Skype users will be given higher priority)

3550  Other / Meta / Re: Unjust scammer tag on: May 14, 2012, 10:38:44 PM

Total BS. Attempt to discredit and insult my professionalism by a couple of trolls on BTC-E chat.

We had a informal deal for 2.5 BTC for my signature space for 1 month.

He claims he sent me by "accident" 25 BTC instead. No way to verify this claim. For all I know this could be from my aunt for Easter etc.

No overpayment at all.

Since the deal was 2.5 BTC for a month and he SUPPOSEDLY sent me 25 BTC ( could not verify it was really him / anyone can use PhotoShop ) I decided to do the right thing and give him 10 months ( as paid ) and also a bonus 2 months for a total of a year renting out my signature space.

I also wasted 2 hours talking to him about a solution in BTC-E chat ( without compensation from him at all ).

Quote
He made a mistake and he wants me to pay for it Huh

BTC payment is irreversible. That is the whole point otherwise I would be using USD. There are no "mistakes" and "accidents" in BTC; just like in life if you screw up you face up to the fact and move on. Mistakes costs. And now I have to pay for it Shocked

I offered him all I could but I will not refund because it defeats the point of BTC. I never forced him to give me 25 BTC at all. I never held a gun to his head. All I asked is 2.5 BTC for my signature ad space for a month. He sends me 1 million BTC by "mistake" then who is the one to blame ?

Suddenly I see 25 BTC coming and he says I am scammer. If I was scammer I would have taken the BTC ( they are still here and not moved by me http://blockchain.info/address/1Bu1424Lf7y3Jz9p4ZyCo2mRSQDwdaXrHa ) and gone off this forum and also not spent 2 hours trying to get some cooperation from him in BTC-E chatroom and work out a solution. I would not scam for 22 BTC Cheesy

You can see the signature is present below in red so I kept my end of the deal.

Don't understand what all the fuss is about really ...

We agreed informally 2.5 BTC for 1 month. I see 25 BTC coming in. He claims it was his mistake. I do my best offer of 10 months ( paid ) + 2 months ( bonus ) for a total of 1 year and also 2 hours BTC-E support talking to him about solution.

TBH all I agreed to was 1 month of space in my signature on this forum for 2.5 BTC. He sends me 25 BTC "by mistake" it is his problem not mine. I could do just one month and that is that but I am trying to be fair and work out a solution. He comes in public BTC-E chat calls me a scammer after I spent 2 hours trying to see a solution.

I think there is a miss understanding going on here. Read carefully, He didn't see the 25 BTC coming in his wallet for a long time,
Was called a scammer, theif before he saw the 25 BTC transaction. I once had a transaction take this long as well, it happens.

He tried for hours to resolve the problem, but the 25 BTC suddenly appeared after hours of being called a theif,
the person with the 25 BTC sent, should of waited a day at least.

I waited about a couple of days when I got scammed from a different person once for 15 BTC, tubstill.
I didn't rushed out and called him a scammer, I waited.

I gave him a chance, perhaps something happened, or something.
Then after 2-3 days I reported him and got his account removed on BTC-E.
But that was 3 days after he started to ignore me.

I would every 6 hours update, anything happened? But got no response.

Bulanula wasn't given this chance. He was sent 25 BTC by mistake, He didn't see it coming for hours, called scammer thief immediately.
Even after trying for 2 hours to look for a solution which most scammers would never do this, my past experience
suggests scammer never take the time to resolve this.

I honestly do feel sorry for this, as I have done many many trades, and a lot of others. He hasn't scammed once.
I think there was even a time when I made a mistake and sent too much. And I gave him time,
he sent it back after he got it after 5 hours. I did not rushed out and bad mouth him immideately.
I can almost understand why he didn't send it back, as of this.

Did Bulanula just post as lightlord?
3551  Other / Meta / Re: Unjust scammer tag on: May 14, 2012, 09:33:23 PM

Nah, he doesn't get free electricity, the electricity company gives him the electricity, and then later sends him the bill. He then uses bula-logic, because they "sent" him the electricity he doesn't have to pay the bill, they shouldn't have give him the electricity in the first place as it was their own fault. This is how his brain interprets the situation.

Win.

It's my policy to publicise loan dealings to help deter scamming or odd behaviour (search the gorgo1 loan threads and you'll see what I mean). I hope this is ok with you OP.

If it wasn't okay, he wouldn't be asking for it in a public thread.
3553  Economy / Lending / Re: Lend me 4 BTC repay 5 BTC tommorow! on: May 14, 2012, 09:05:13 PM
Sent you 4BTC loan. You agree to repay me 5BTC with the terms we agreed on in PM.

Probably a good idea to agree on things -publicly- here so that everyone knows. Else, why bother with this thread.
3554  Economy / Lending / Re: Lend me 4 BTC repay 5 BTC tommorow! on: May 14, 2012, 08:55:30 PM
This is purely my donation address i use it for nothing else.

Oh I understand. I was just replying to the other individual who wanted to know where I got the figure from for how many BTC you currently held.
3555  Economy / Lending / Re: Lend me 4 BTC repay 5 BTC tommorow! on: May 14, 2012, 08:53:38 PM
You have at least 10BTC right now as it is. What do you need another 4BTC for?

Does the OP have outstanding loans or something? Have they been repaid if outstanding? Link me to thread if this is the case.Thanks.

Where do you mine ? Let's see some proof of your setup. Most Miners are proud of what they are running. Why all the secrets ?

You're asking the wrong questions.

The only question that should ever be asked to him from this point is,

Why are you still talking?

What do you care ?

Why are you still talking?
(Building up my post count tonight. Everyone feel free to join in considering it';s the only question that need be asked of him at this point. He's already agreed to stealing the coins and already said he'll be sending them back.)

How do you deal with Atlas? By reminding him of his true past as a worthless underclass-hating asshole who thinks women are below him and cannot get out of bed without masturbating to himself.

How do you deal with bulanula? Remind him that he has already admitted to stealing the coins and ask him why he's still talking.

How do you deal with me? (*Hint* It's not "When do I get my magazine?")

Whatever. The evidence is there.

You both registered later than me !

Ordinarily conflicts of this type can look bad for the community, but your sad delusional displays as a result have helped flush out one more wacko from an otherwise potentially healthy community. Thank you bulanula. One more down, god only knows how many left to go.
