361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Temporary Down Turn for Altcoins Over? on: April 10, 2024, 10:56:24 PM
With the upcoming Halving event in a few weeks, does the community think whether we still have more than 30% drop to go (from the highs last month), or is it a good time to load up on Alt-coins again?
Possible and we're seeing it right now but the recovery is also stronger than it. So, if you're into these percentages of drop before the halving since we're getting close to it, see it for yourself. But what you can do is that you'll never get to have that accuracy on how much they'd do because the market is fluctuating a lot and you cannot measure that if you're into a bunch of altcoins. Are you waiting for some more dip or you're looking at a down and reddish portfolio of yours?
362  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading good for beginners? on: April 10, 2024, 10:24:59 PM
Yes, no doubt that there are newbies that want to do it with real trading and that's why they're all good with losing money as they start because they have no control over it. They are learning on a quicker phase if they do that and that's the reason why they're doing everything they can as they keep up with how they're building their strategies when they start. Nothing wrong whether demos or real money, the important thing is you're learning and trying to be good at it.
I strongly disagree with you. There is a whole lot that is wrong for a newbie to start with a real account, I will never advise anyone to try that unless they are just prepared to lose money senselessly.
You can disagree with me but it's the reality that I have seen in real life newbies trying to enter trading with real money. That's what they think is the best for them and I think that they won't do it recklessly. Me as a newbie before, I didn't try any of these demo accounts but went for real trading.

Everyone starts on being a noob on which it would really be just that a common approach that they would really be having that kind of mindset on trying to fast track on everything because they are excited on making money or making profits with real trading, until they would really be able to face up the real thing on the the that they would really be able to experience that harshness of this market. Everyone starts on being a noob.
Facing the real thing in trading is what they think is the right approach. In our opinion, there's a different and better way but that's us and not them. Who are we to stop those newbie traders if they want to go ahead and trade asap with real money, right?
363  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why technical analysis is not reliable on: April 10, 2024, 09:53:11 PM
Why do we think the technical analysis would be reliable when their are other analysis we can use to trade in the market.
It's because sometimes it is working and reliable but not all strategies are like that. There are some that might be working but the majority of them cannot work at most times.

Many people feel like if they don't use the technical analysis, they will not make money from the crypto market.
That's okay if that's what they feel. On this market, whatever strategy that works for you, then you have to use them for your own sake because no one is there to save you from your strategy but only you.
364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin becoming Legal tender on: April 10, 2024, 09:23:20 PM
I think bitcoin will triumph big in an African country first. like big, then we may see like big currency adoption in other countries in Europe and like, not just atms, but almost a common knowledge currency like euro/dollar.
It did happen in the Central African Republic but then the government pulled down that decision so, even if there is a potential for many of the African countries to do it, it's possible that their government will also have to revert their decisions.

Been a legal tender in most countries will give Bitcoin a very different type of adoptability much more than it has gotten currently asides which it may be just used for payments but not recognized as a legal tender in such countries.
Only a few that it has became one but some may possibly think of it to be one. But even without it being a legal tender, the adoption will continue to increase.
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BookOfPresidents (MemeToken) on: April 10, 2024, 08:56:24 PM
There is BOME, there is now BOPE, and soon what Book Of project will we have? We always have these kind of projects that are following the path of a former project that have became successful and famous. But I understand that capitalizing with the other project's popularity could gain the success of them massively. This has happened with the other meme coins project where in we see those INU tokens and the Pepe's, frogs, cats, and dogs and many others.
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Savings APR reduction normal? on: April 09, 2024, 11:50:04 PM
Yup, they're normal. The more users participate on these savings products of exchanges or wallets, the reduction of the percentage of APY/APR is happening. It's part of the process for them to sustain the promised APR that they've projected so, it's always adjusting based on how many users have availed that. Whether they're fixed or flexible deposits, they're going to change it without prior notice so don't be surprised if yours was reduced.
367  Economy / Economics / Re: how to survive inflation and economy hardship on: April 09, 2024, 11:10:04 PM
I agree about having more side hustles. And if this side hustle that you've found can make more money than your day job then test until a few months if it becomes stably earning more than your day job then that's the time for you to decide whether to keep it and leave your day job and turn this side hustle into full time. And with that, you can find another side hustle and the cycle repeats and you get more people to trust for that side hustle but that's the hardest part.
368  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading good for beginners? on: April 09, 2024, 10:45:10 PM
Using a demo account is a common practice nowadays. Before it was like a real thing that you have to experience everything with plain cash and you bear the losses that comes from it. But this time, you can have these tests and trials for your own convenience whether you think that you'd be good and you'll be able to make some real money afterwards. So, it's up to the trader as a beginner on how he's going to see himself and judge based on what he's got whether he's good or not yet.
You're right, it is a common way to use demo account but not everyone wants to try demo account. Some people prefer real trading, they can get the basic information about trading through YT video. However, it is always using small funds when it is the first time trading. This is also the right way, people want to get real experience in real trading. If they use demo account, they won't get real experience. However, it totally depends on the individual of the beginner whether they think demo account is needed or not.  Wink

369  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Factors that might affect ATH in BTC price after halving on: April 09, 2024, 10:07:16 PM
If it was related to ETFs or Halving, maybe I would accept those reasons that influence Bitcoin's ATH, but the USA vote? I don't think so. Because the US election is not directly related to the price of Bitcoin, unless the election ends in chaos, but even so it also does not have a significant impact on the price of Bitcoin because the most affected is probably the American stock market, not Bitcoin.
USA election you mean? sometimes there could be some price actions during that time. It's just not that visible for now but the ATH can do some of its move at that time because whoever wins the next president of the US can say such about Bitcoin that will be taken literally by the market. So, there's a possibility that it can move the market a bit after whoever wins the presidency at that rate and because of some speech and if that includes Bitcoin, we're all reactive.
370  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is forex trading a hobby or a skill on: April 09, 2024, 01:32:00 PM
Doing forex trading as a hobby will result in big losses. Because most likely it will end in loss. So, how can a hobby be called a hobby if it takes the money he has. However, forex trading can be used as a hobby if one has skills in it. He definitely has a reason why he likes doing it, and the most reasonable reason is that he always makes a profit there. Which means, he has skills in that matter.
Many people get stressed just trying to trade forex, so I don't think it's a hobby that can be done for fun without having any skills in it.
You are confusing yourself. You said that doing forex trading as a hobby will make someone incur big losses. While there are many newbies traders that will do forex trading as a hobby because they're starting out but they'll surely develop a skill if they learn from their losses.
And even with the old traders, they're doing trading as a passion and hobby. It all goes out that they can make money with it whether they do it as a hobby or normal activity and they're doing all of it because they're skilled.
371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana - worth it in 2024? on: April 09, 2024, 11:30:50 AM
Recently I dived more and more into the solana altcoin and I wondered wheter it is too late to jump into it or not?
For me, when it has reached $100, it was too late already. But then looked at how much it is right now. I am giving you the idea when we think that we're too late. It could be right or wrong and that's why no one can say if you're already late to jump on the bandwagon or it's still too early if the pump is going to continue. That's why if you're deciding to invest on it, you don't have to ask other people for it whether you should invest or not but as part of your research, it is one of your deciding factor whether you'd do or not.
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: I cant transfer LTC from bitget to coinbase on: April 08, 2024, 11:49:35 PM
Frankly, I see that newbies' topics about Bitget are indirect promotion, so I hope that this is not the real reason for this topic.
They're everywhere but it seems that it's becoming a popular exchange so let's give the benefit of the doubt when some newbies mention it that they want to trade there.

@op 1 month has passed and you have never replied even a single reply on this thread you've made.

374  Economy / Economics / Re: Debt Management. on: April 08, 2024, 10:49:41 PM
All I can say about debt management is - don't get into debt. Of course - debt is an option that some people may have to take to maintain balance in their lives, but if they are able to avoid it then avoiding it is a wise choice.
As much as possible, it's true that don't get into debt. Don't get pressed by this society that we're having right now that want you to purchase expensive things that makes you higher than them. That's not life but it's best not to get into it. Pay everything in cash or if you're using a credit card, pay before the due date so that you won't have any interest and any other life hacks that you know about saving, do it. As for your debts, if you have existing ones, don't forget to pay them until you have zero.
375  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading good for beginners? on: April 08, 2024, 10:22:36 PM
Yup, the real money should come with real cash and trading. Those paper trading or demo accounts are purposely made for testing them and for the newbies to be familiarized with how trading works. If someone starts out of nothing and literally from zero, it will take time for them to understand the whole concept of the highly volatile markets that they're trading such as with the crypto market.

Right which means we have to admit that the presence of a demo account really helps us, especially beginners who are still in the learning stage or the adaptation stage with something new they see, they can use a demo account to learn about the basic concepts of trading as well as how to use some features to help analyze such as indicators or others, because obviously if for example as you say which if a beginner has to really start the learning stage completely from scratch without any idea then obviously it will be very difficult and take longer, even just to learn the basic concepts or nature of the market, not to mention other things that are much more complicated. But overall the demo account will only be useful to give you the understanding and knowledge that it is the market with its various properties and fluctuations that you will trade when you have entered the real account, because the real experience is when you have entered the real account where you trade with real money and you will feel a lot of pressure on your mental and psychological because of the fear of the risk of loss.
376  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you believe in savings or investment on: April 08, 2024, 09:47:01 PM
Same here! actually it's better to have both of them specially now that we need to be financial literate, if we have spare money that we can use as an investment, then go. sometimes we need to take a risk but always remember that we need to carefully research about the platform before we proceed in investing our money.  Keeping our money in bank as a savings is needed to, because we need to have a money in times of emergency.
It's better to have both savings and investments. You have to be assured that you have money for some purpose that you haven't seen so your savings is going to work with that. While for your cash flow, it's best to have investments as they will work out as your additional money and much better if they're passive income and they're contributing a lot to your monthly income and that's why you don't have to choose any of them because they're both important.
377  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How far can BTC go before halving? on: April 08, 2024, 09:11:18 PM
Bitcoin may hit upto $80,000 before the halving set, we are likely to have this, but there is no concrete certainty that it will definitely get to the proposed rate, before halving, we are still in the bull season and we can  see the market volatility as something we cant actually predict on the pattern it may take as we know already that this will comprises of both the bullish and bearish move while we are still on the bull season.
I've seen say that it can go as high as $86k and once hit, after the halving then it will be followed by a correction. And having that correction said it's a normal process to reach another ATH for next year. Maybe by the end of this year, we'll see the windows of $80k and then some huge crash could come but then that's in preparation of the upcoming bigger bull run and higher ATH that we're going to see by 2025. But the trend and sentiments can still change.
378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethena Airdrop on: April 08, 2024, 08:47:36 PM
You could also farm ENA on Bitget launchpool, you could either stake BGB or USDE & this is ending on the 12th i think..https://bitperfect.pe/en/bitget-announces-listing-of-ethena-ena-token-on-launchpool/
Maybe after farming with Bybit, I'll transfer my funds there and will farm it with USDE but I have to convert my USDT. What's the USDE as there's two with cmc, the Ethena USDe and the USDE alone?

For anyone that got a really good sized ENA, bag, congratulations on the price increase! Ansem and Cobie isn't going to let their angel bags dip so much.
Just like OP, he's holding a lot of it and getting 100 ENA per day means a lot that he's got a lot.  Grin

There'll still be time.. you could just send USDT to Bitget and covert it to USDE( USDT/USDE)  and farm. I sent a link earlier here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5490628.msg63917819#msg63917819. that should help
Yeah, that's what I am about to do and just waiting for the Ethena farm on bybit to end. But I don't think that I'd be getting a lot since this is just a spare amount of my USDT but again, free is free and these projects are giving money away. I don't want to miss out some free money since I've a lot already but thanks to all of you for sharing them here together with OP and the other contributors that have shared here as well.
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your top performing altcoin this year so far?? on: April 08, 2024, 08:16:22 PM
Hey mates, as we get closer to the halving, I wanted to ask, what are your top performing altcoins for the year so far, and which ones are you looking to add to your portfolio as we progress deeper into the year
ETH is mine and I've got some few that I don't really hold at all but just bought randomly. No memes sadly but that's fine, I am happy to those that have been holding meme coins as you're able to make such money from it. Despite that many memecoins have been pumping, I don't want to get on it for some of it because I might have already been late looking at them but then, just still going to hold these major altcoins together with bitcoin which is a safer strategy for me.
