1041  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are Meme Coins? on: December 18, 2023, 08:03:20 AM
For Doge, it has passed the stage of being just a meme coin. Today, we can see it being used for a lot more than the hype. Btw, you said that memecoins has considerable volatility. Well, I think you’re not saying it as it actually is. Memecoins have the most volatility and can take you from zero to hero overnight (it could be the other way round too). Also, I hope you know that you have to update your topic every month Grin because memecoins doesn’t seize to be created. Each month many projects are created and definitely meme projects are amongst them.
Even before, Dogecoin is more than just a meme coin. I just regret that I didn't hold it until during the peak but it's usually used for transfers even years ago. The fee for each transfer you'll do with it is very cheap even until now and that's why it's more just a meme coin that we used to know.
It's a beloved of the community and despite with all of the meme coins craze that we're getting, no one's going to forget dogecoin.
1042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The next trending storyline in DeFi might be RWA on: December 18, 2023, 06:04:10 AM
It's inevitably the future. RWAs are so much better than crappy NFTs with no real use cases (JPEGs, digital art, etc). Everything from Gold to Diamonds and Real Estate will be tokenized on the Blockchain. A good thing for ETH's long-term mainstream adoption. The only problem would be scaling, but that's something the community would need to discuss at a later time (L2 scaling is not a solution to all of ETH's problems).
Honestly, the community has been dealing with that problem of scaling and how many years has it been? It seems that even with that problem. And with the RWAs, we always get something new from the market and compared to NFTs, this is way better if utilized that much.
But after this, I think that we'll get to see another one again or we might see the recycle model of these projects coming from ICO/IEO/STOs. Who knows.
1043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nowhere is safe part 2 on: December 17, 2023, 11:46:25 PM
As for dex, I have only used Trust wallet so far
Trust wallet isn't a dex but it has an integrated exchange. Well, it's a wallet that many are using because it supports a lot of cryptocurrencies.

Can anyone here tell us the steps to take to avoid this? It's so easy to say, Let's be careful, but the action to avoid is that no one really knows what steps to take.
Do not download files that you don't know, don't visit or click links that are unfamiliar. Start from having that discipline and you'll be able to avoid getting hacked or scammed.
1044  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best exchange to start trading? on: December 17, 2023, 10:56:02 PM
there are many options available on coingecko, perhaps for more than the top 100, if your country does not support exchanges, you can make purchases via dex, but if you trade on dex the transaction costs may be quite large compared to dex, especially on the network erc-20 ,
Trading on DEX if it's on the ETH chain will cost you a lot. I hate this to say but much better to get onto centralized exchanges if you want to keep some fees. There are a lot of choices in there but of course, use them as they're only should be used for trading.

remember trading will not always be profitable
Yeah, some time it will be and there will be a lot of times that it won't be. Just trade with caution and use exchanges that are common and don't keep your money there for a long time.
1045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will USTC hit 1$ again and be a stable coin ? on: December 17, 2023, 09:54:58 PM
They are simply dreaming with their eyes open, as the community as a whole is not going to forget about what happened, and the only fate awaiting for that coin is to disappear.
It won't disappear but it will eventually die because of how the community will decide on this one. Those that still up til' now that can't move on, they're hoping for something for it to happen and for the best of it. But no matter what they do, it's no longer going to be back to its former.
That's the reality with coins that have been involved with controversy and it's mostly going to remain as a meme coin because people that will buy it will not think of what they do and it's just out there for the liquidity and quick money.
1046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Secure your crypto wealth by not having it all in crypto on: December 17, 2023, 08:53:34 PM
Those that know how to store their cryptos won't have any problem having an all-in portfolio with 100% crypto. But as we build ourselves also to become better investors, we have to diversify and scatter these profits that we make in crypto. I think that majority of us are also engaging with real estate especially those that have made larger profits last bull run and potentially planning to venture there for the next bull run. That's how it goes, we just circling around in investments and those that have started with crypto, you'll never forget where you started.
1047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 10k investment on: December 17, 2023, 07:48:06 PM
XRP won the court case so if you want to choose, you might just get into splitting them. But this thread was made several months ago and as per OP's decision he went all in for ADA. Not a bad choice because if he hasn't sold yet, the price from April 2023 to this day made him almost double the price. So, I guess that was a good decision then. But if he chose to go on it with XRP, he didn't double the money but still he's still in profit so, good thing he just chose the right one but this isn't the end for it.
1048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Clothing Marketplace and Brand altcoin on: December 17, 2023, 06:55:40 PM
I wanted to create a clothing brand, buying clothes from bangladesh and china and selling under my brand and funding this project with an altcoin...the owners of the altcoin would be the owners of the brand.
who would be interested?
It's like stock or share holding but based on a token. I think you better just make the company have a public opening(IPO) than making an altcoin. This type of business is much better with that approach than to just release an altcoin with that. Well, that's just based on my perspective and much better to do that because if you're also going to make it open to the public and be with the small exchanges, there's a chance that your tokenomy might even get manipulated by some big guys that probably just seen around all of a sudden.
1049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Projects for investment on: December 17, 2023, 11:44:12 AM
It is still possible but it is hard to know which project is going to be like that. Just like Bitcoin and ethereum, they were also both cheap during their early days. I think that there will still be projects like their growth but you will never know if it is going to be as good as the established one. You will have to check the entirety of these projects if they have the future and potential but as everyone invests, the same thoughts to be said that they will have a good future, they have good whitepaper, such things like that but still future of them are unknown.
1050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ethereum be profitable anytime in the future? on: December 17, 2023, 10:30:06 AM
The relation of electricity to Ethereum is void because of the change. I am still holding quite some amount of Eth and I am one of its believers because I know that it is going to be worth a lot.
Like now, with the coming bull run and people speculating about it that it may reach $7k-$10k. Well, if it goes $10k then no doubt that I will sell all of mine by that time or I think that even $7k is already worthwhile to take some profits and I'd do my shopping spree by that time.
1051  Economy / Economics / Re: Sea Piracy, it's effect on the local economy on: December 17, 2023, 08:46:56 AM
Countries that face this high level of piracy are mostly those without a sustainable rule of law. The people behind the piracy are been encouraged by other top officials who is real sense disguise themselves and fight pirates only in their chambers while protecting the real ones on the seas because of the wealth they acquire from those pirates that engage in those acts. I don’t see anything hard in wielding the sword against pirates, but you can’t harm them because they are being protected from the inside .
Actually it is the people that make rules and the government are just nodding to what their people are doing. There is still government on them but there is no strict enforcement of rule to th because civil war is already there. It is a lawless land and the government do nothinv with it because they are benefiting from the sea piracy's money. It is always huge money that is involve there and their economy wont survive or will stay low if there will be no other source of income for their people.
1052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: next bitcoin? on: December 17, 2023, 07:38:42 AM
Many Altcoins have been compared to Bitcoin already but with time we see there downfall too early, as no true value associated with those crypt currency. So it will be better to stick with Bitcoin and begin to invest now
They will never learn. They are so selfish thinking that their altcoins will surpass bitcoin and the achievements that it has got. But they need to understand that bitcoin is incomparable and if they want to compare, they should choose another altcoin if they are into it.
Because no matter good things and shill they say to their crypto or alts they invest, it is not going to work against bitcoin. But with some alts, maybe it is going to work.
1053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who lost money due to dogecoin? on: December 17, 2023, 06:42:50 AM
Why you think that dogecoin is going anywhere soon? This is the memecoin that is here to stay and it has a wide network of its community and is still active to this time. Those that have lost money on dogecoin can still make up some recovery as we are about to get into the bull run. And with this, everyone believes that most cryptos and meme coins including dogecoin will have its move upwards too. But that is not a financial advise but an opinion.
1054  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think about Solana tokens? Are they worth it? on: December 17, 2023, 05:32:05 AM
I see a lot of people do hype with solana tokens and they are seeing the gains with them. But just a reminder for those that are onto them. You need to check that not all of them are going to be worth it. Because it is like that ethereum during its early stage but we do not know if they will be right just because of the hype. Be sure that you have done your DYOR before you commit into any sol tokens and just because they are all pumping, it will be permanent but no not.
1055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance is cutting some XRP and ADA products on: December 16, 2023, 11:03:43 PM
I have a friend who's got XRP as well, I'm not just so sure if he's keeping them on Binance but hopefully he doesn't. But he talks about Binance so basically, this is a bad news for him. I don't have XRP but some bits of ADA, anyway, these two have got a lot of exchanges where they are listed so it's not a problem for the majority of its holders as long as the other exchanges that are known will keep it. Anyway, a big exchange such as Binance is gonna disappoint the holders of it this Christmas.
1056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFTs worth millions of dollars were stolen just now on: December 16, 2023, 10:09:37 PM
Yeah, there's still a long way to go with web3 and these vulnerabilities should be taken into account. I feel sorry for those folks who have their NFTs as their investment and have gone in an instant because of these hackers. There's no way to take them but will these platforms wherever they will be sold could do the same as what stolen cryptos can, and that's to block the addresses so that they won't be sold and the hackers won't be able to dispose and use them?
1057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Retik finance? Anyone has seen it? on: December 16, 2023, 09:23:56 PM
It doesn't show on my browser so that's why I don't see it and don't know that they're heavily advertised. If so, then the algorithm of the browser that I have isn't targeting me. If this project is known and were able to raise a lot for a short period of time, good for them.

Rather than asking other people to provide research and reviews about Retik Finance to the OP, I'm still more convinced that if the OP is making a soft-shill, it's possible that OP has participated in the sale held by Retik so he wants to invite others to buy and become a Retik Finance hodler Cheesy.

BTW, never do soft-shill on this forum, because if the project you share is unclear and only speculative, people here will ignore you.
Well, this makes sense and you're right. He's able to make us look at the project because we never heard it and that's why I guess he's able to succeed in making us curious about the project but still, I won't invest on it no matter what.
1058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How exactly do you find new tokens before they blow up. on: December 16, 2023, 01:52:57 PM
Honestly, it's all about luck. Like what's happening now, many say that SOL tokens are going to be the good ones and that's why they're going to end up with some good gains because Solana is also pumping and gaining traction. But in reality, no one really knows what will be the next new projects that are going to gain those gains because we don't hold the market. And those that have good developers don't also guarantee the success of projects and that's why you just keep on DYORing if you're into it.

Success in crypto ain't all about luck, even if it plays some part.  Smart investors mostly count on stuff like doing research to make informed choices, putting their eggs in a few different baskets, waiting things out instead of panicking and knowing not to bet the farm
I might be wrong that it ain't all about luck but there's a big part of luck. How about meme coins that don't even know these investors will blow up? There's sort of luck from these folks that they never expected that these chosen meme coins that they've invested have blown up.

you can't control if you'll get lucky, but you can control how careful and thoughtful you are.
I agree.
You can't control your luck and it comes naturally but you can be careful to your investments and money. But if you're the type of person that just likes to take risk with such random choices, your money - your rules.
1059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BRC-20 VS ERC-20: A battle for ecosystem supremacy on: December 16, 2023, 11:22:01 AM
I am not sure with that, that BRC20 will be taking over the ERC20. If they have in common, is the inconvenience that they bring to the community by making the fees a lot. The real score is going to be the bear market and I don't think that these ordis or brc20's are going to survive when we come to that point. But still, there's still a long overhaul for these projects while the community of its own is taking advantage that they have for having an early entry prior to the bull run.

1060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you withdraw your cryptocurrency from an exchange to a bank account on: December 16, 2023, 10:33:30 AM
IMO, most of the banks aren't really into crypto, and telling them that you'll have transactions related to cryptocurrencies will give them an idea to flag you.
Much better if you have transactions is to not just tell them and just do it on your own. They can't take away your money, they will release it to you but might close the account if it's too much of a violation.
Other than that, I am not scared with these banks that are giving a flag to crypto transactions. Just tell them that someone have you paid in crypto but you don't know shit about it and you have to sell it so a bank transfer did the payment.
