381  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Free Raffle] 12 MixTum collectible cards on: December 31, 2023, 05:44:21 PM
the shipping costs have already been paid in advance by [banned mixer] for all free raffles. this means that all winners do not have to pay any shipping costs and only have to give me their shipping address

I think it was a confusion here... icopress told me that shipping outside Europe should be paid by the winner.

In any case, since almost all participants already sent me the addresses, let me collect them all for not making other confusions.

n raaa damn, that's just remind me that I should when Gazeta is doing a raffle to throughout every rule too carefully to take advantage even from the more irrational ones ! Grin

Lol! =)))

Hehe, merci frumos Smiley

383  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Free Raffle] 12 MixTum collectible cards on: December 31, 2023, 03:17:03 PM
i would suggest that the serials are allocated to the respective winners in sequence - so krogoth gets #8, NeuroticFish gets #9 and so on...

Sounds like a good plan to me Smiley
384  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Free Raffle] 12 MixTum collectible cards on: December 31, 2023, 10:35:08 AM
Here is the list of all 12 winners:

krogoth
NeuroticFish
BABY SHOES
tweetious
Caribbean_Treasures
mv1986
bitbollo
wwzsocki
hopenotlate
Bullion-n-BTC
Willi9974
JanEmil

Congrats to all winners and a happy new year to everybody!!!

The OP said: 12 MixTum collectible cards and we have only 10 winners Huh
Sorry if I have overseen something here.

Nope, there are 12 winners. Winners have been announced here and here.

anyway - it's your (@GazetaBitcoin) first organized free raffle here in the collectibles section and considering the time pressure that it 'has' to be completed today, you have in my eyes done everything possible to make this free raffle as fair as possible for everyone.
of course there is room for improvement here and there, but everyone has started out like this to some extent and i strongly assume that your next free raffle will definitely cover all possible 'special aspects' (as far as the rules are concerned)

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement, cygan! It means a lot for me!
385  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: [In Memoriam] Guess BTC price contest on: December 31, 2023, 08:08:23 AM
Thank you for the nice table Woodie! It may help a lot!

I'll also take this opportunity for making a prediction: $44,100.05

I believe BTC price will continue a slowly ascending path, as halving date keeps getting closer and closer. Perhaps it won't soar over the night but it'll keep a slow, but steady, ascension.
386  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Free Raffle] 12 MixTum collectible cards on: December 31, 2023, 08:03:25 AM
that's why raffles should be 100 slots (00-99) or 16 slots (0-9,a-f). everything else is confusing. Don't understand the rationale/logic behind the 50 slots raffles anyway.

I can't speak for others, but in the case of this contest the reasons were the following: (1) a 16 slots raffle would not make sense for offering 12 prizes; (2) a 100 spots raffle would take too much to have the slots filled and the contest needs to finish before the end of the year. The prizes are subjected to mixers ban and the topic of the contest would be moved to Archival after the end of the year.

Yesterday were chosen 10 winners, the last one being NeuroticFish, the winner of block 823630.

Let's roll again with block 823695 for finding the next winner!

Last 2 digits of 823695 are 63. Since we don't have this number we'll take closest one => 42. tweetious is our eleventh winner!

Next block: 823698

Last 2 digits of 823698 are 07. krogoth is our eleventh winner!
387  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Free Raffle] 12 MixTum collectible cards on: December 30, 2023, 10:10:42 PM
Yes, but as we are accustomed habitually for this draws any number bigger that [50 for this case] is just ignored and we wait for a next block!
You could be correct if it was mentioned at the time of posting the ann or anyone who is now opposing including you could say about this at the time of starting the ann. Even it could be considered if it had arisen before starting the roll. Yet it might require to repost and reschedule the slot. Now all is bad except completing the total phase as on the mentioned OP. Rules are rules whether it favors me or not.

This is correct. Everybody saw the rules since the topic was launched. Everybody which joined this raffle did it voluntarily, with no coercion. By joining the raffle participants agreed to follow the stated rules. Good or bad, they were set. I already made mea culpa for not anticipating some possible issues. But from here to blaming someone which offers free goodies is a long distance.
388  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Free Raffle] 12 MixTum collectible cards on: December 30, 2023, 09:43:02 PM
Instead of that may I propose, (and if Mr JanEmil is volunteer ti switch his spot to spot n° 26!), to make to calculus for numbers bigger to 49 like

I am not changing the rules while the contest is on-going.

But you didn't state the rules about the draw at all !

Actually, I did. Have you read OP?

After all places are filled I will choose 12 blocks. Once a block is chosen, the last digits of the hash will determine the winner.
If nobody guessed correctly the last digits of the block then winner will be the one with closest prediction.

389  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Free Raffle] 12 MixTum collectible cards on: December 30, 2023, 08:53:16 PM
I personally don't mind much, but it's just unfair competition. The closer you are to 50, the more odds you have to win, statistically. The last participant (in terms of selected number) gets more than 50% chance to win, always.

I apologize for this, as I apologize as well for not anticipating the possible issue raised by cygan. Please bear in mind that this is my first free raffle though and have some understanding with me. I am sorry if I did not meet the standards of Collectibles board and all strategies. The main purpose was to offer the prizes. I did not calculate thoroughly all mathematical possible issues.
390  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Free Raffle] 12 MixTum collectible cards on: December 30, 2023, 08:16:08 PM
Shouldn't we ignore what's higher than 50? Otherwise, the person who chooses 50 gets like way more advantage.

I guess since I did not state that in rules since the beginning it would be too late and not correct to do it now...
391  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Free Raffle] 12 MixTum collectible cards on: December 30, 2023, 08:01:30 PM
Okay, let's roll with block 823593!

Last 2 digits of 823593 are 88. Since we don't have this number we'll take closest one => 50. JanEmil is our first winner!

Next block: 823596!

Last 2 digits of 823596 are 48. Bullion-n-BTC is our second winner!

Next block: 823598!

Last 2 digits of 823596 are 69. Since we don't have this number we'll take closest one => 49. Willi9974 is our third winner!

Next block: 823599!

Last 2 digits of 823599 are 86. Since we don't have this number we'll take closest one => 47. hopenotlate is our fourth winner!

Next block: 823602!

Last 2 digits of 823602 are 38. BABY SHOES is our fifth winner!

Next block: 823604!

Last 2 digits of 823604 are 65. Since we don't have this number we'll take closest one => 46. wwzsocki is our sixth winner!

Next block: 823610!

Last 2 digits of 823610 are 53. Since we don't have this number we'll take closest one => 45. bitbollo is our seventh winner!

Next block: 823616!

Last 2 digits of 823616 are 38, which was a previous winner block. Both 37 and 39 are at equal distance to 28, this block is invalid.

Next block: 823622!

Last 2 digits of 823622 are 49, which was a previous winner block. Since we don't have this number anymore we'll take closest one => 44. mv1986 is our eighth winner!

Next block: 823624!

Last 2 digits of 823624 are 71. Since we don't have this number anymore we'll take closest one => 43. Caribbean_Treasures is our ninth winner!

Next block: 823630!

Last 2 digits of 823630 are 28. NeuroticFish is our tenth winner!
392  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Free Raffle] 12 MixTum collectible cards on: December 30, 2023, 07:35:04 PM
Okay, let's roll with block 823593!
393  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: December 30, 2023, 06:41:11 PM
We should completely forbid meriting any vote from the voting thread, not just from nominees to users who nominated them.

Perhaps next year this rule will be also added. Just a thought though.

I want to edit my vote and add another user, but I don't know if it'll count, because he has merited my post.

Sadly, it won't count... If someone nominated by you at a category merited your post, this vote will not be accounted.
394  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should Ratimov aka Symmetrick be in DT1? on: December 30, 2023, 06:32:43 PM
For some reason, Ratimov was banned. No idea why though. My post from the other thread says the following:

Lol, on what basis what he banned now? He wasn't banned for years in a row of plagiarism, but he was banned now, when it does not even post anymore? He wasn't banned when he made you a garbage man but he was banned now? He was not banned when he threw all his dump into your yard Russian board but he was banned now? How so?

Furthermore, based on LV's last update of Trust lists, it seems that even the most loyal minion of Ratimov -- that is madnessteat -- jumped from the sinking boat. LOL! That was all with his loyalty.
395  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Free Raffle] 12 MixTum collectible cards on: December 30, 2023, 06:25:12 PM
Raffle updated once more! There is one remaining available number: 26. If it won't be filled in 1-2h or so we'll roll anyway. Good luck everybody!
There are 12 prizes and 50 spots, so the parity is 0.24. In other words, this means that each participant has almost 25% chances to win a prize Smiley
396  Economy / Reputation / Re: Ratimov sold his account on: December 30, 2023, 06:17:21 PM
The user Symmetrick has been banned, so haters of this user can breathe a sigh of relief. So discussion of this issue has lost its relevance.

How so?

I translated your topic long time ago in my local language in Urdu and posted it in my Local Thread and I am still waiting for an approval.

The translation looks good, thank you Publictalk792! You can consider it approved Smiley
There are some minuscule changes needed, which I'll point out in a PM, but the translation is okay and I added it to OP.

In case you'd like to make more translations of my topics, you can find here 13 topics which can be translated in Urdu.

Apparently you also did not read carefully the rules. You are not eligible for the contest.

@GazetaBitcoin what happens to the blocks that show the same last two digits again - does the user win a second or even third card or is the block then 'invalid' and a new attempt is started?
unfortunately this is not clear from the rules Wink

I inspired my rules from other similar raffles and I didn't see anywhere such a rule... I guess the odds for this to happen are minuscule Smiley Anyway, we should not have a winner with more than one prize. So there will be 12 winners for the 12 cards. so if the situation you described above actually happens (although I hope it won't Smiley) then the winner of the next block which has same digits as a previous block will be the one with the closest prediction to those digits.
