381  Economy / Speculation / Re: Not a good time to buy, according to this source on: May 09, 2018, 03:11:24 PM
Uh yeah I read that article it was awful! A supposed Wall St analyst is advising not to buy an asset when it is at its low, but instead saying you should wait to buy an asset when it starts getting high and is pumping. I mean yeah if you are just looking to make a bunch of money in the very short term then waiting until a bull run starts so you can make a profit in a couple weeks is good, but otherwise that is the worst advice ever. How did this guy become an analyst?!?! He's literally advising people to NOT buy low and sell high.

Always understand that the big investors in real market always buy when the price is fallen or already falling as the rise is always higher compared to low point rather than to start buying when btc is pumping. This is the mistake which many new people or even experience do it and then when it falls they keep cursing the btc or market.

Exactly. And this Wall St analyst is giving the exact opposite advice.

As far as I know these analysts work for the big guys in the industry, they try to setup people to follow the herd which then ends up being eaten by whales.
382  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Would you recommend never store cryptos on an exchange website? on: May 09, 2018, 03:04:45 PM
This is pretty much common knowledge if you'd ask me. Even the big stable exchanges can get hacked. The best thing to do is to setup the exchange wallet as a hot wallet, and then a hardware/paper wallet that's offline as the cold one.
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think this year will be Red? on: May 09, 2018, 03:00:11 PM
The first half of this year was terribly red, but now the market is strengthening and we see a bullish trend  Grin

Hopefully the trend is maintained and we finish strong this year, both for ETH and BTC. The one thing that can potentially disrupt this trend is the new set of regulations coming in place for crypto. Hopefully they all end out leveling the playing field and be generally friendly for our industry.
384  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will never reach 20,000 again on: May 09, 2018, 02:19:58 PM
Reaching beyond $20k is still possible even there are many challenges that lies ahead. Bitcoin still enjoy large following than any other cryptocurrencies and more investors from different countries are still coming for the number one virtual currency.

One thing we're pretty much positive right now is that a bull market is coming and the outlook is pretty good for the next halving season come 2020. Things are shaping out good IMO.
385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Quit your job to promote bounty campaigns fulltime: unrealistic???? on: May 09, 2018, 02:14:43 PM
Maybe you can do that if you work as a bounty manager and has a lot of campaigns to handle. Otherwise, it's just not plausible I believe.

It's a good compliment to your normal activity here in the forums.
386  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is taking a breath on: May 09, 2018, 02:00:58 PM
Exactly,  it could be a good shows for us that bitcoin could really make some adjustments after a month's of being in dip. I know people are happy to see its growth and surely they don't loose their hope and make some investment again.
Bitcoin is slowly in the moment to increase again. Those who in doubt to btc they must look in the history because btc wil surely giving a good profit this year. So they still have a chance to invest in bitcoin it will increase again.

This stability is nice for a change. Hopefully no big news comes about yet again to disrupt it. The industry is greatly in need of a break from all these negativity. Let's keep this momentum slow and steady.
387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: hold or sell? help me on: May 09, 2018, 05:22:02 AM
You know I'd say stick with your current goals. This one's true for every investment. I for example targeted a +50% ROI on one of my tokens, so yet up until I can reap those targets the tokens are locked up on my wallet. It doesn't always end up reaching its goals and you can cut your losses if you think the token's not gonna make it ever. Otherwise, I'd advice to hold.

There's a study I've read that long term hold always outperforms short term trades, that's just the average though, because if you're an extra talented trader you can outperform holders.
388  Economy / Speculation / Re: Trend reversal proposition on: May 09, 2018, 05:12:14 AM
I was having this analysis too just that I was having difference figure however will try what you said when we get to that level.  Since yesterday we are having some prices corrections and I think we may see clear when we hit the next bull run by next week as the issue with sec has affected the market.

This is pretty much the trend we're going too unless some big news come anyway and disrupt the market yet again. Eg: new regulations in place, another big exchange got hacked, you get the idea.

Hopefully it stays on with the trend, we could use some stability in this market every now and then.
389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC or ETH in 2018 on: May 08, 2018, 03:58:10 PM
I'd go for ETH, IMO it's still hasn't reached it's supposed all time high, so if it's breakout year we're talking about, I'd say ETH would take this year.
390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I want a long term investment what s the best choice for now? on: May 08, 2018, 03:47:45 PM
i thik a best choice now is eth btc, whole market need this 2 coin to pull whole market grow up,i beleive eth and btc increase again

If you'd like a 'stable' kind of low risk one you can go for that. Although I'd recommend going for tokens that are backed by exchanges, something like COSS and KCS, because these two have running businesses behind them plus you get dividends from a portion of the exchange fees. It's like PoS but its entirely no maintenance.
391  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC almost break 10k on: May 08, 2018, 03:45:04 PM
The deeper the bitcoin price the highest it will reach when bull market arrives. We just need a liitle more time and patience for the coming of the bulls. Stay calm and dont look the chart every minute.

I'd be really happy if it'll level out at 10k and that would be the new baseline. That would be the perfect spot for it to gain momentum for the next bull run.
392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still use MEW? on: May 02, 2018, 02:09:46 PM
I switched to MyCrypto after the DNS hijacking. Although it's basically the same. I figured if you're vigilant enough to check everything before opening your wallet you're pretty safe at least.

Still planning to switch to hardware wallets sometime in the future though.
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 1 ETH - should buy alt or hold on to it on: May 02, 2018, 12:01:39 PM
I'd suggest you proportionate your 1 ETH into a profile fit to your risk appetite. Like have 0.5 ETH for holding and 0.5 ETH distributed into tokens if you'll like an average risk portfolio. 0.25 ETH and 0.75 for tokens if you'd risk further. You get the idea.

Or course, proper diligence in researching your tokens is a must.
394  Economy / Speculation / Re: I bought at 19k, now what? on: May 02, 2018, 11:01:45 AM
I bought 3 btc on credit for 19k about. What should I do? I am way underwater.
all you need to do is wait for the increase in price of bitcoin for about 3 to 4 months and bitcoin price will be back to $19k+ per bitcoin, so you shouldn't worry about the deceased bitcoin price, it already always happen in a market that for every seller there is a buyer.

That's why it is a good thing to avoid buying when the price is at its all time high or at its peak. I wonder what's on those people's mind when they buy bitcoins even if the price was an ath but you're right eventually it will recover and op will have an opportunity to sell.

Well in reality, it's really hard to fight emotions and greed because you'll never know when it is a good opportunity. We all say be logical but sometimes I also do make bad trades. It's a matter of experience I guess.

@ontopic, you've actually got no choice but to hold, unless you're ready to take on the losses.
395  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is the most "feared investment" on: May 02, 2018, 02:23:53 AM
Feared?  I would rather called it riskiest investments among all other investment instruments. One must consider a zero return of investment before entering this kind of market. On the other side, you could also earn almost a hundred percent if you're lucky and know ho to play along with the trend.

It's a wild beast of a market but once you've learned how it moves and how its cycles are timed, you can really profit from it. It's not something for the average investor though, you've gotta have a lot of heart and guts just to hold and avoid bad trades.
396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum for holding now on: May 02, 2018, 02:03:59 AM
If you want more profit, go.with ethereum the price is not too high unlike bitcoin. The idea is, when you buy 1eth at current price now and back to its highest price last year so your investment gain double of your funds and in bitcoin when you buy in the same amount it can double if btc bsck to 15 above dollar.

I also do believe ETH still hasn't yet reached its true all time high, so it's wise to have a good chunk of ETH on your portfolio. The current price doesn't reflect its true value since the demand for ETH due to ongoing ICOs are still at a high.

397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Long Term Holds for the Bull Market on: May 01, 2018, 05:19:46 PM
I am most concerned about ETH. Its price is currently low. This makes me want to hold it until the end of 2018
Believe me when I say this, at this moment there is no cause for concern for ETH. If there was a way for me to put ETH into my 401k portfolio, I would have done so many moons ago. The “low price” doesn’t exactly correlate with the current product out.

The demand for ETH is still there and growing because there are still ICOs coming up on the pipeline. Your portfolio should have a significant chunk of ETH IMO.

As for me, I hold long on tokens/coins backed by real running business, like COSS and KuCoinShares.
398  Economy / Speculation / Re: Warren Buffett on buying bitcoin: 'That is not investing' on: May 01, 2018, 05:16:42 PM
Warren buffet is actually have an other side on mind and he doesn't mind cryptocurrency still on this days he is not a fan of technology? Oh well i doubt, knowing that he invested money in bitcoins. I don't really care what words comes from him because what i see and my knowledge on this will be the next future of my life and not by his words.

With all due respect to him, he's an authority on traditional investments. He's got a point that holding BTCBTCBTC is mostly speculating, because it isn't backed by a real business. So I guess his point is that we should invest in crypto-companies and not so much simply holding BTCBTCBTC.
399  Economy / Speculation / Re: Seeing Green on: May 01, 2018, 05:09:45 PM
Op's wish mercifully failed to transpire - we never been close to cross $10k threshold in April. Maybe it is too soon, people still remember ATH and 'price crash' after that.
I would rather have slow price increase over months, then 100% spike over the weekend and after 2 weeks huge market collapse.
We need to remember that bitcoin a marathon, not a sprint - buy more coins and wait.

I'm hoping it's more of a correction, what just transpired the past few weeks. We may see a leveled price this May, and then the next major movements in the coming months. That is, if no big news disrupts the market again, which is pretty much unlikely.
400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This article is a must read: ETH under attack from regulators! on: May 01, 2018, 03:29:56 PM
quote from that article. "Both U.S. commodities and securities watchdogs are questioning whether the same rules for stocks should apply to these digital currencies"

good grief. Last thing we need now is more regulation but I suspect this is going to come sooner rather than later. Surprisingly this all happened around the same time market started showing improvement.  Lips sealed

Not familiar with US commodity and securities laws but is there any possibility these regulators can enforce penalties, or even sue people behind Ethereum for illegal IPO allegations said in the article?
