1121  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is BTC's maximum target price/ceiling? on: February 25, 2017, 04:14:26 PM
I am hoping for a 35.000 dollars for a bitcoin within 2025. I am keeping the coins until then. Rich status can be reached by then if I hold more than 10 coins. This is like  a double edged sword and I may end up receiving nothing if the bitcoin value falls to near 0.

That's a super optimistic bet. A more realistic prediction IMO would be like $2 to 3k after the next halving.
1122  Economy / Speculation / Re: Traders Are Cockroches on: February 25, 2017, 04:11:33 PM
Let them do their little trading, meanwhile long term holders have made more money than all traders. Daytraders always lose in the long term, it's like pretending to win in the casino, they are idiots.

So keep buying the dips and keep holding long term to win the game.

That's not true in all cases, I know a few BTCBTCBTC traders that are filthy rich.

What a loser performance from Los Angeles Clippers again, I guess they just can't compete again all those big teams. I see no hope from them to break the playoffs curse. How can they make it if they couldn't maintain a consistent performance, more than 4 games in a single playoffs round.
Two players recovered from injury in this match today, Chris Paul and Pau Gasol. Gasol is a big key in Spurs win today.

It's the Spurs, so it's a given that it's tough. Besides, a 105-97 loss isn't so bad. Just look at the way the pelicans lost yesterday - that's loser performance.

"BTC won't be lost forever.

Some third party services, merchants or even people like you and me using a wallet like Electrum can set an expiry date for a payment request. An example of a use case could be to prevent customers from submitting payments after the quoted price is no longer valid.

That's why your bitcoins won't be lost and wallet addresses don't expire. In case you send bitcoins to a third party service like kraken or you use a payment gateway like coinbase, you'll have to follow its rules and this is not bitcoin's 'fault'.
"

Bitmixer.io for one has addresses that expire in 24 hours.  They then DELETE the address & account info.  As far as I know, that means any BTC arriving late is GONE.  And that would be terrible for the unwary who might lose a big chunk of money when the blockchain is stopped-up...

I think that the point franckuestein wanted to make is that the Bitcoins are still there, at the address they were sent to. If that service deletes the private keys, well... Taking franckuestein words, "you'll have to follow their rules"

That's why it's better to do direct transactions, this way you have all the control.

@ontopic Microtransactions over the BTCBTCBTC network are dead. Come to think that it was the micro-economy that pushed BTCBTCBTC in the limelight during the early days, it was supposedly its bread-and-butter.
1125  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1200 on: February 24, 2017, 02:24:00 PM
How much of an impact would the SEC decision on the ETF have on bitcoin? If ever anyone of them is denied or all of them for that matter, will the price react negatively or will it hold and move on from there? The price has withstood the PBOC situation and if this ETF things turns out to be good for bitcoin, then we can really expect the price to reach over $1500 in a few weeks.

I don't even believe that the price is tied to this. It's still more of the effect of the halving and increased projects and general adoption.
1126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: February 24, 2017, 03:21:32 AM
The Rockets rank 2nd in offensive efficiency, while the Pelicans rank 27th in that category. Acquiring Cousins could propel New Orleans into the postseason, but won’t help Tonight, i think Rockets will win and cover ATS.

The Rockets has a new gun, Lou Williams. Time to test out this new recruit.  Grin
1127  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1139.9 resistance broken, 1142.2 hit (Bitstamp) on: February 23, 2017, 10:11:11 AM
Looks like the double top was broken, bullish trend confirmed and continues, any further dips are irrelevant, ATH is now unavoidable, after the ATH gets broken there will be no breaks, moon and jupiter and any possible known planets will not be an accurate indicator of the next big pump. Shorters will die in the attempt. Get ready to take off, party has not even begun yet.

$1200 for the new floor  Cool Cool Cool

Seems to me the fundamentals are getting stronger, I really hope it's not a bubble this time.

1128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: February 23, 2017, 10:08:14 AM
Sacramento Kings must be the most ridiculous franchise of all time with so many bad trades and draft picks in the recent years, I can't believe they are still competing somehow. The trade can create another powerhouse here, right now it doesn't look as menacing but just add another piece to this puzzle and you could have a team with arguably the best/top big men in the league.

This trade is ridiculous! are 10 years sacrament does not go to the playoffs and this year could reach the playoffs, but now after selling Cousins will arrive in last place in their conference.
New Orleans, however, can reach the playoffs defying Denver for the eighth and last place useful.

Not so ridiculous considering Cousin's attitude. He's like Rondo IMO, so it's a fair trade. I kinda don't see him working good relationships with a lot of teams.

Not at all, Rondo is a proven troublemaker on every team he has been. Can you really blame Cousins anger with the Kings franchise in all these years? I know the man has a temper but to me he's fully justified in most of his actions and criticism. We'll see how he does in New Orleans, if he can't adapt then the problem is clearly him not the other way around.

I feel he just wants to be competitive and win, sometimes he goes too far and becomes frustrated, he doesn't seem to have any equanimity whatsoever.

You should check this video: https://youtu.be/koJ6ERwSnTM

Oh, I've read and watched a lot of stuff about that man hence the remarks. If he can stay put and focus on the game, then he'd be good. It's about time the Brow got some help lifting the team.
1129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I failed to make a fortune as an early bitcoin adopter? on: February 23, 2017, 10:05:20 AM
Let me quote a few snippets from the article:

"It’s all about me being too greedy."

"I failed not for lacking skills, but for my thoughts."

Pretty much sums up what OP's mistakes were, but don't worry, you only fail when you stop trying. Get back up. I'm an early adopter too, but I'm not a millionaire.

1131  Economy / Economics / Re: where should i invest my 0.5 btc ? on: February 21, 2017, 03:03:08 PM
You can invest your 0.5btc in some legit site. Like Hipy,Trade etc.But remember one theke there many scamer on hipy so after invest should be checked carefull where you invest!!

A bad move IMO. Probably invest in a site, buy a domain and hosting and have articles written. It's a lot better in the long run.
1132  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin reach 2000$ ? on: February 21, 2017, 08:36:34 AM
If the banking system as well as sovereigns such as Russia and China move to accept Bitcoin as a partial alternative to the USD and the traditional banking and payment system, then we could see Bitcoin easily reach over $2000+ as the blockchain's decentralized system, an inability to dilute the finite supply of bitcoins as well as low to no transaction costs gains more traction and acceptance globally.

Actually we don't even need that, we just need the next halving season to come and $2k is just within reach.
1133  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price climbing fast again on: February 20, 2017, 02:58:34 PM
$1050 barrier broken. We might retest the levels at $1080 that we saw if this keeps up. With only three weeks until ETF decision is made, this looks to me like classic hype bubbling up/accumulation.
Preev.com price watch-And we have a temporary setback as bitcoin price falls $3 below the $1050 barrier , looking forward to getting back up.

Yup. CMC showing around $1047 right now. It seems to me that price always goes up right before I get paid though. Sad

It's still holding as of the moment. I really hope this becomes the new floor because if a new bubble starts from here, the sky is the limit.  Smiley

Price was stable for some time and dont see anything that it will impact for price to go high, at least not at the moment.
Yes we have price to go down and comes back up but this is still normal dont expect to see anything in following week or two, no major event that will trigger price change, but it dont need to be that price wont go up. Just for me at the moment i dont see some indicators for that.

no major event? in just over 2 weeks we will see whether or not the etf from the winkies will get approved. i consider this to be a huge event that might boost the price over the current all time high within 2 months. that's why i keep holding my coins firmly to see where the price is heading to next month. if it doesn't get approved, then prepare for a deep and solid dump.

i don't agree on both cases Smiley
if it is approved, that will only create some FOMO situation in the market and temporarily cause a jump that i don't think is going to be big, although we may finally see stable price above $1100 after the FOMO ended and correction happened.

and if it is not approved, again nothing is going to change, there will be PANIC selling temporarily causing some drops and again we will be back to where we started. and again we may see whales accumulate more in the prices and price may go above $1100 again and get stable there.

Worst case scenario is that when the panic sells get momentum. Weak hands begets other weak hands. It can crash the price down in hours.
1134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: February 20, 2017, 02:56:28 PM
I really enjoy in the game almost 400 point in game really good and good basket. For me result didn't matter i just watched and enjoyed, maybe i will once be able to watch this event live. Players were very good in shooting with 8 players over 20 point on this game. For other competition i expected more in 3 point shoot out but seem like defend this title is hard in NBA.
They will always have a good shooting night because this game is an exhibition game, there's no defense at all as their purpose is just to entertain the fans. We have seen dunks after dunks which does not happen more often in regular season, in short this game is no bearing game and the score could reach to 500 points if they will choose to do so.

500 is just too much. Aside from that this game is also for posterizing other stars. Look what happened to Curry.  Grin Grin Grin

1136  Economy / Speculation / Re: New record being at 1000+? on: February 17, 2017, 12:23:16 AM
I don't know if the current price will keep the enough momentum to achieve a new ATH, but I would be completely satisfied if the mark of $1000 is able to persist as the new floor. It would be the first step for our expected skyrocketing.

if it remains at this level by March and April, then it's stable enough to be the new floor. IMO, the next big run would come again next halving, so this price should hold for a long time.
1137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your biggest bitcoin regrets? on: February 16, 2017, 01:01:35 PM
I would say transferring 1200 btc to a soft wallet on and external drive and loosing it back in 2010! Gaaahhh! Shocked I tried for a year to remember my wallet address too
Just got back in the end of the year and my mind is freaking blown!! I could have been a millionaire

Oh, tragedy. I can only imagine your reaction when the first bubble came to be.
1138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: February 16, 2017, 12:55:40 PM
Cleveland has won six of their last seven games. In the last games, they are playing high scores in the outside shots. Indiana lost 4 games over the top. The last four games are over. In the last four games, he has over 110 points and scored over 100 points. My guess is that I think Cleveland will start the game fast in the last game before the match and win the first half and the game, and I think it will be OVER

They surely are in a winning streak and probably that can last long and their next game is with the New York Knicks. And guess what? They are going to play on their home court for the next 3 games with Knicks, Bulls and Bucks. So if you got something to bet there, go all the way for Lebron. That's going to give you good win.

It looks like this is surely a winning streak for the Cavs and I will going to bet some all in for their games. I just hope that they are going to play completely and no one is going to be injured in the midst of their game for their first games with Knicks or Bulls. I believe to Cavs now, I hope that there's no mafia included.

What's with the mafia mate? The same thing with Jordan? I don't think so that there is going to be some mafia's included on Lebron's game. And if there is, then why they didn't exist with Lebron's game mostly in the finals. Just trust and believe with the whole Cleveland Cavaliers, they are going to nail these games straight.

If and only if they come in healthy whole season long. We all know what happened 2 seasons ago when GSW took them out easily because everyone in the team was injured.
1139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar now with TOR support, what do you think? on: February 16, 2017, 02:56:21 AM
IMO Tor's not really that important for mainstream success. It needs to acquire more users, and the priority should remain with that.
1140  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell or wait? on: February 16, 2017, 02:52:03 AM
Don't be stupid and wait. Now it's the best time to buy.
BTC won't drop to even $800 anymore.
At the end of 2017 the price would be $2000 and each year for the couple next will rise to 150%.

That's pretty bold, actually I'm expecting quite a bit of a roller coaster this year. $2000 is attainable, but maybe after the next halving.
