1101  Economy / Speculation / Re: $3000+ on sight for this year after BUcoin disaster on: March 16, 2017, 04:27:01 PM
But dont we forget why Segwit and BU are there in the first place? Because Core isnt good enough right? And when the possible improvements like BU fail bigtime it isnt really positve?
It is not because core is not good enough, the software needs to be updated and since there are more people into bitcoin the limit of 1 mb has to be updated so as to include the current traffic. The core will come up with a good solution to resolve all those and i hope they will come.

Core is the best team in the game. It is all miners fault. Miners want more money, that's why they want BU, so they can control the blocksize and everything else. BU is shit and doesnt work. Miners activate segwit or we have 1mb forever.

Probably a consequence of BTCBTCBTC mining being controlled by a few huge companies. If it was the community that is still at hand maybe we've already adopted a solution way back earlier.

Golden State Warriors 106 - 104 Philadelphia 76ers

Look at that, they lost KD for a while and they're in shambles already. Looks to me they aren't in a championship form all of a sudden.
LOL funny though considering they broke the bull's record last season without kd. I think this is the downside of having a superstar the caliber of durant get acquired. They seem to depend a lot on him now forgetting what a great team they were last year without him

Acquiring KD broke the stable team dynamics that worked really well for them I suppose. They're really dangerous, but IMO they're stronger last season.
1103  Economy / Speculation / Re: Amazing bitcoin performance after the ETF on: March 15, 2017, 03:38:51 PM
As expected, the price dumped when the ETF got rejected because people expected it to dump, so panic selling ensued. Nothing out of the ordinary. But I didn't expect the price to stay at $1100+ so easy and so quick.
This shows us how powerful bitcoin is in 2017 compared to 2013. Bitcoin is indeed maturing, this now feels like a solid, serious thing.
Well said.
I think that the main thing is that there is less hype, less speculation in 2017 than 2013, but rather an actual increase in the level of user engagement and community grew dramatically over the past years.
This pump was over a period of half a year, or even more. It has been growing at a steady pace, while the 2013 pump only lasted for a few days/weeks.
I wouldn't be surprised that bitcoin hits $1,500 even after the ETF declination.
Just proves that if something is intrinsically valuable, it will thrive.
I do really accept the fact that people are trusting in bitcoin and in my opinion there are several factors that the price recovered even after the rejected by SEC,one thing is that The Federal Open Market Committee might take a decision on hiking the interest rate and there are several other things happening in the real market and those news could be reflected in the price of bitcoin as there are more solid investors in bitcoin than in 2013.

The price seems to be surging irrespective of events surround it. Whether the Fed increases or decreases the interest rate, I don't think it will have an impact on Bitcoin. The people who modify their asset allocation based on the Fed's actions don't invest in Bitcoin.  Smiley

Probably what's powering the market now is true demand, that's why the price seems to be irrespective of current events. Hopefully this continues on for a few more months.  Cheesy
1104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin overcome Paypal? on: March 15, 2017, 02:26:03 PM
I feel that bitcoin only lost at the reception. Well, not everyone accept bitcoin, but everyone accept, because paypal is highly reliable payment on the internet. Well, when the bitcoin has been reliable, I'm sure paypal would accept bitcoin. it is a sign that bitcoin has exceeded paypal.

The thing is Paypal transfers cost way too much. It really can take a chunk from your business finances. It's something BTCBTCBTC services should capitalize in, if they can provide the same or even better services with the fraction of a cost.
1105  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell or wait? on: March 15, 2017, 02:15:03 PM
Both. Buy if you have the money. Sell if you already profitable or break even for you to sell.

Try to do short trades on an amount you're willing to risk. At least you'll have fun trading.  Grin

1107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So no one cares about ETF decision, right? on: March 11, 2017, 12:42:19 PM
Many people don't actually know what ETF is and just taking it as a potential positive development for bitcoin. The sudden up and down roller coaster is likely due to the speculators trying for pump-dump scheme.

It's actually an opportunity for a short-trade, but it's over now I suppose. The price is stabilizing at around $1200 again.
1108  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will be reach to $2000 at the end of 2017 ? on: March 11, 2017, 10:43:35 AM
Let's wait and see how the ETF and all other speculations grow. We are in Q1 2017, so we have to travel a bit until Dezember 2017  Grin

ETF is a NO already, and yet we're recovering. It's a good sign of what's more to come.  Wink
1109  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion about 'Collateral' in Btctalk lending section on: March 11, 2017, 08:18:27 AM
It is general practice that collateral worth is always greater than amount of loan offered. In terms of bank, it is known as 'Margin Requirement'.
But banks are trusted institutions as compared to individuals here. So my concern is that, since lenders here generally accept collateral higher than loan amount, what is the credibility they will return collateral when borrower is willing to pay back?
Isn't there should be a system of escrow holding security/collateral?
That's why the borrower tries to choose the trusty person in the lending section. And otherwise. The lenders try to choose the trusty borrowers.

It makes the transaction will run for smoothly, and we are no need an escrow for that. A key is a trusty person.

Which is a rarity nowadays. Account levels doesn't even matter that much anymore. Anyway, I haven't had a chance to experience borrowing or lending btc in the lending section here but I suppose the borrower gives a collateral with the margin mind, much like the lender's interest rates, so it's a win-win.
1110  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining Viable in 2017? on: March 11, 2017, 03:54:41 AM
What's your definition of good investment?

1) There is a relative big chance you never get ROI because there is a big chance you reach the moment cost of electricity/maintenance is higher than mined bitcoin. -> negative
2) There is a chance you will get ROI -> then every satoshi you earned more is better dan simply hodling. -> positive

Ofcourse there are more ways to earn bitcoin, like trading or lending (on an exchange for example).

Hashnest has -besides the "normal" investments- also the PACMIC. You can also take a look into that.

PACMIC is expensive, although the rewards are higher. What I like with the regular hash is that you can liquidate it anytime.
1111  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing money on bitcoin..! on: March 11, 2017, 03:52:02 AM
Nowadays many people are starting to invest money on bitcoin or the buy bitcoin..is this a good approach?
How this will influence us in future?

Yes I think it is a good timing to buy bitcoin, One of the good example is bitcoin meets the price of Gold you share that to your friend, or neighbors, and you can tell the advantage of its usages too, and why some of the biggest company like, Dell, Apple, Mercedez bench are now adopting the system of bitcoin these are the reason to tell and to share why they must buy.
Despite of disapproval of  SEC to ETF for Bitcoin, it will still spread its market as time goes by. I do beleive, ETF would regret for disapporving Bitcoin since bitcoin has a huge potential. Bitcoin is our future major currency.

The price is not all that linked with ETF, and now that it has been disapproved, it doesn't mean a we'd plunge into the depths of very low prices again. It's all part of a cycle, and as long as the demand is there, we'd be okay. That's the more important market fundamental. ETF is an opportunity, but it isn't everything.

Now with regards to investing, I'd say go for investments you're directly involved, and not so much with those that you let the market decide.

Who would have thought OKC would take the Spurs down? Such a crazy and awesome game for WestBrook, shutting records down.  Grin
1113  Economy / Speculation / Re: Disaproved on: March 11, 2017, 01:54:04 AM
$700 a coin HERE WE COME!

Nice smart recovery. Looks like we are going to stay at 4 digits, even after the ETF got rejected.
We are at $1130 now, and it is not too different from where we were a week back.

It's a good sign, but IMO the bear isn't over just yet, we're gonna play around this level at least up until next week I suppose.
1114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: March 10, 2017, 05:04:03 AM
Oklahoma City Thunder vs San Antonio Spurs , it will be an exciting game ! i will bet for Over 210.5 points .
Indeed this is going to be an exciting game, the Thunder are very desperate to win this match and by looking at the line you know it implies something.
Still, I'm a little bet doubtful with betting Thunder ML because they have been tanking lately, instead I will try to bet for the over of this game and it looks appealing to me. You know the attitude of the spurs they do not want to give away games as they are focus with leading this league.

Good luck to us, I hope this will be a good night for the Thunder backers.

If WestBrook would again explode in scoring an over 210.5 bet is easy to get. That is, if he can - don't forget the Spurs has some of the best defender in the land.
1115  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining Viable in 2017? on: March 10, 2017, 04:51:31 AM
I'm with hashnest a few years back, and while I did profit a bit, I decided to cash in all my assets there because of an uncertain environment back then. I'm now again contemplating if it's a good investment to get back in cloudmining, any thoughts? For HashNest only of course.
1116  Economy / Speculation / Re: New bear market. Bulls just got slapped in the face. on: March 10, 2017, 12:02:08 AM
A bear market is part of the cycle, it's healthy. Not so much to worry about I believe.
1117  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin break its own record !! on: March 05, 2017, 05:31:24 PM
I already sold it. I can smell the dip from a mile away  Grin

It's a new all-time-high, so let's see in a few days if you made the right move.  Smiley
1118  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like we are going to test $1,300+ on: March 04, 2017, 04:28:48 AM
$1300 is gonna test all the BTCBTCBTC market's fundamentals. At this point, I'm not pretty sure of what's driving the rise, surging demand? I think not.
1119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: March 04, 2017, 04:21:12 AM
I'm going in wild and betting for a 76ers win over Detroit tomorrow. At 2.65, it's well worth the risk  Grin Grin Grin
1120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: February 26, 2017, 02:28:02 AM
Timberwolves @ Rockets:
Both teams have the potential to make a great run this season, but the lack of depth has kept them from bringing in a winning record. Even at their best, the Wolves will be unable to bring in a win against the Rockets who have been playing much better this season. Expect a one-sided affair and rout from the Rockets to the Wolves. so i will take Rockets -11.5 @1.95

What's more exciting about this match is that it's Lou Williams' first home game. With such a surprising debut last time vs the Pelicans, this will be his statement game.
