381  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: THEYA - new mobile multisig wallet on: October 09, 2023, 12:46:45 PM
I think this will work like Mixin safe? Because of this:

Full Control
With Theya multi-sig, you hold 2 of the 3 keys and have complete control over your wallet. Nobody can deny you access to your Bitcoin, not even Theya.

I am an Android user. Also I can not bother because I can use Multisig wallet on wallets like Electrum and Sparrow which gives me the full control.

I do not bother about inheritance that wallets like this are having as part of their features. With normal wallet, you can still have some ways inheritance is possible if the people that will inherit your coins know about how bitcoin wallet works and you can teach them.

Making transaction on wallet like this (I mean Theya) will have its own expensive fee.

Mixin Safe had one of the owner's key with them which was time locked. (At least they claim it to be time locked), Do Theya also claim that they have access to the private keys?
Those who know about  Mixin, I don't think they will risk another such MultiSig wallet  Huh

I can go for Electrum 2FA which is safe if setup appropriately.

Can you guide/provide a link to set up Electrum 2FA properly?
382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: October 09, 2023, 08:07:58 AM
Also, i hope the weather do not disturb the rest of the match.

I already showed my fear that the weather may interrupt again and it really happened.  Sad
The match was abandoned due to rain and the South African women did not get a chance to bat and chase the target. Now we have two matches washed out with no results.

The 3rd T20 will be played between the two teams again at East London on 10 September. Let's see if the play will be possible or not.
The five match T20 series is now left to a three match series as two matches have ended with no result.

The first 2 matches can’t be played because of rain (DLS method), that is the match between South African women vs New Zealand women. This series is played in East London. The weather in East London is not good and according to the weather predictions the weather is not good which can cause rain and maybe the other matches also can’t be played because of the DLS method. Thankfully, The ODI matches of this series we have seen because the ODI matches were played in Durban and Pietermaritzburg.

If we are talking about the performances of the players, then both team's performances are good, both teams are in form, and I hope that in the next matches, rain won’t come.
383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ICC WORLD CUP 2023 ACTUAL DISCUSSION THREAD! on: October 09, 2023, 07:40:41 AM
After watching the match between Australia and India I don't feel like watching any other match. Unless it's a Pakistani or if it's an Indian match. Today Newzealand takes on Netherlands, expecting a one sided game. Mostly dominated by the Kiwis because they are way better than their counterparts. The team that wins the toss would choose to bat first in Hyderabad. If the Kiwis bat first then they would try to get as many runs they can on the scoreboard. If Netherlands bats first then they would have to survive the Kiwis bowling attack.

Today is the day when we have a match of Netherlands vs New Zealand. This is the 6th match of this World Cup. New Zealand has a chance to win this match because New Zealand is one of the best teams ever. They have a good batting line and also a bowling line but don’t underestimate the power of the Netherlands' bowling line. They have the ability to upset.

In the previous match of the Netherlands, we see that the Netherlands' bowling was good, especially the Dutchman Bas de Leeds took 4 wickets against Pakistan. He is the best bowler in the Netherlands.
384  Economy / Speculation / Re: If bitcoin will accepted worldwide for legal then price rising $100k?? on: October 09, 2023, 01:07:29 AM
If btc is legally accepted in all countries then huge number of investors will increase. and the use of btc in various fields will increase.

what is your opinion about this?
the potential to reach a price tag of $100k is huge. If bitcoin is legalized, and accepted worldwide, I think there will be very many large companies that also use bitcoin for their companies. this will increase the number of communities and consumers, so that bitcoin will be increasingly sought after by people whether for investment use or other things. that would significantly increase the price and would probably be over $100k.

I understand that the current $100K is a psychological figure and it seems very difficult for bitcoin to reach that price but in the context of a limited supply of bitcoin, and the current world wide inflation, this is very much possible.

Think for a moment that bitcoin was not accepted by most governments and also it is not being used as a global currency, still we saw bitcoin price reaching 68K. So if Bitcoin is legalized worldwide, all those EFTs get approved, and the money flows into Bitcoin, then $100K would be a very small amount and it can reach much higher than this value.

385  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Unstoppable wallet {User experiences} on: October 08, 2023, 09:18:45 PM
Let's suppose, i have many different altcoins stored in the Unstoppable wallet and I accidentally removed some of the wallets from the main screen. Now how can I check through Blockchain (web), that my wallet contains which altcoins that have a balance?
Just like how you go through bitcoin blockchain explorer to track your transaction through txid. If you want to know the blockchain explorer that you can use for the altcoins, click on the coin on Unstoppable wallet, click on the coin that you received, you will see the txid and the block explorer that you can use to track it on a browser. Those explorers are what you can know offhand.

Yes, i know that part, my question is that if i have a lot of altcoins on my wallet, how can i know which altcoins i have ?

Example, in the metamask extension, we can have a lot of Eth based tokens and sometimes we do not add that particular token in the wallet but it do exist. So now i have many tokens, i don't remember which one i have so i go to https://etherscan.io/ , enter my ETH address and it will show all tokens along with their quantity.

Do we have the same thing for the Unstoppable wallet?
386  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Unstoppable wallet {User experiences} on: October 08, 2023, 08:54:19 PM
I have been using Unstoppable Wallet for a while now and have had a very good experience. However, i have one query and that is how can we check through the blockchain (web) that our wallet contains which tokens and their quantity?

A bit of explanation is here. We need to first add the crypto to our wallet and then get its deposit address and then we can deposit that crypto to our unstoppable wallet. Now we can even remove the crypto from the interface but the amount of coins still remains in our wallet (in blockchain).
Let's suppose, i have many different altcoins stored in the Unstoppable wallet and I accidentally removed some of the wallets from the main screen. Now how can I check through Blockchain (web), that my wallet contains which altcoins that have a balance?
387  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why won't the US government give up? on: October 08, 2023, 08:37:12 PM
  • what is the reason why countries are still going for CBDC when they speak of regulating bitcoin?

The government failed to control the popularity of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and in order for them to stay in the game, they would most probably issue CBDC, a digital product equivalent to paper money, while having full control over its supply just like the fiat money.

  • Why do the US government give up their pursuit to control bitcoin after over a decade because bitcoin is Decentralise and no one can have total control over it so won't they just give up on their pursuit?

They won't give up as they never will want bitcoin to become a global currency and US dollar to lose its value. They will do whatever they can, to stop Bitcoin and stop its acceptance as a currency,
388  Other / Meta / Re: Does deleting our own posts harms our acccount ? on: October 08, 2023, 05:31:37 PM
I know that if our posts get deleted by the mods and there are many of them, it means that we are making low value posts, they are being reported and eventually getting deleted. In some cases, we may get tagged by the DT members for being a shit poster.

Anyhow I want to know that if we delete our posts ourselves, does it have a bad effect on our account and can we still get tagged or something or it is completely normal ?

The first thing is to ask yourself why you want to delete the post ? I hope it is not because you said something to anyone bad and/or you want to back away from your point of view or any such controversial thing. Apart from that, deleting your own post will do no harm to you.

Also remember that deleting a post yourself and getting a post deleted by mods are two separate things. If you get your post being deleted by mods, this means someone reported your posts and the mods found that they are not up to the standards. Getting a lot of post getting deleted by the mods could also temporary ban your account.

389  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: October 08, 2023, 03:45:04 PM
Holders have been using this method for a long time, whether they are day traders or long-term traders. And we have also seen that it is effective, and this is also where traders usually make money. Especially if we know how to feel the right timing of buying and selling.
I think I will disagree with you on this, let's not misunderstand DCA strategy for a day traders because buying and selling is totally a different strategy that shouldn't be advised for beginners who just came into crypto because in as much as you feel you can get a higher profits return there is also chance of losing your capital, people who uses the strategy of buying when the price is low and selling when the price is higher tend to be panic sellers who is always afraid and uncertain of the price movement as such there is a very tendency that they can easily get affected if the price is moving against there direction, so as an investors who really understand Bitcoin and it potential, I see no reason why risking your accumulated Bitcoin to Chace the price movement of Bitcoin when the DCA strategy is here to guide you, so on the contrary DCA strategy was designed to help us minimize the risk of investment as such building us not to Chace the market price but instead how we can accumulate slowly but consistent and free from panic of price movement and with the target for holding for long.

Trading and investing in bitcoins are two different things, and both have different scopes. I don't want to discuss much in detail between the two but for your information, DCA works even better in investing as compared to trading.

I will just let you know one thing, if you trade crypto and bitcoin, you may earn daily, weekly or monthly earnings but it can only be the kitchen money which you will make with trading (if you have less capital). However, you can become a millionaire if you're an investor in Bitcoin and you have the tendency to hold Bitcoin for years.
390  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Futures trading in USA on: October 08, 2023, 03:27:37 PM
Hi everyone. I'm from Turkey. I'm applying for master's degree in USA. In Turkey I can trading futures using Binance Global app and easily withdraw money to my bank account whenever I want. So, I want to continue trading futures in USA and withdraw money easily. So, guys what is your advice about it?

I think you need to make a new account at binance US and simply login your turkish account on Binance Global app will not work.
Also, regarding the withdrawal, you need to create a bank account too in the US and then you may withdraw at the US bank. Or better optin may be to use the P2P and withdrawal to the cash app.

Futures trading is banned for anyone in the US jurisdiction.

I heard that Kraken still alllows it for some users in the US. I don't know how they are able to allow future or margin trading when it is banned in the US  Huh
391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: October 08, 2023, 02:55:02 PM
Australia Cricket Team vs India Cricket Team. India is the favorite team in this match. In today's 5th edition of the World Cup, the Australia cricket team has won the toss and is batting first. Australia cricket team is trying to play by holding the wicket.  Because of this, the Australian cricket team is playing very slowly. Australia cricket team played 27 overs losing two wickets and collected 110 runs. Although the Australian cricket team continued to try to retain wickets, they could not make much headway in terms of scores. I think the Indian cricket team bowlers are continuing to bowl very well. But at the moment to weaken the Australian team. Stopping the wicket of Australian team batsman Steven Smith, is essential for Indian team bowlers. Now let's see how many scores the Australian team players can bat in the end

In the first innings, Australia did struggle and, in this innings, India did struggle. India lost their best batsman but Virat Kholi and KL Rahul managed the score. Australia gave a very cheap target to India. KL Rahul and Virat Kholi just made 2 to 3 runs in every single over because they didn’t want to lose their wicket.

India can win this match, if KL Rahul and Virat Kholi stay on the crease. Otherwise, India can lose this match. I hope that Viral Kholi and KL Rahul don't disappoint their crowd.
392  Other / Meta / Re: Can I stake multiple BTC address? on: October 07, 2023, 06:13:21 PM
Some might say, Why don't you stake BTC or PGP and sign a message saying that? The thing is, I don't have a desktop device at this moment. Most of the time, I use Bitcointalk on my mobile. I hope everyone understands my situation.

I really do not understand your situation. If you are too much concern, you can sign a message saying this, but since you do not have access to the desktop, you can wait to reset your password till the time you get access to your computer ?

I just don't get it why there is so much emergency that you need to change your password then and there ? Take you time, once you back to your desktop change your password and sign a message (if you want). The notification of password change will still be visible regardless of you signing a message.
393  Economy / Service Discussion / Preev.com is Down ? on: October 07, 2023, 01:00:14 PM
I tried to open Preev.com to check the btc rates but i get the error. If i remember correctly, it was working fine a few days back when i last checked but now the site shows DNS error.

Does this mean that the site domain is expired and the owners did not renew it ?

394  Economy / Exchanges / Re: withdraw crypto from bitget on: October 06, 2023, 07:52:53 PM
hi i wanted to withdraw crypto from bitget...is it possible to withdraw usdt or another cryptocurrency to another exchange for less than 10 dollars? i tried that with BEP20 network but i get a message that iwithdrawal minimum is 10 dollars?

I just wanted to transfer 3 or 4 dollars to another exchange to test it first....

By the way, you want to transfer your crypto from bitget to which exchange? I guess you are moving funds from bitget because they have made KYC mandatory:Smiley

If you first want to test the withdrawals and the minimum withdrawal shown to you is 10 dollars, then why not test with 10 dollars? 10 dollars is not a big amount in case you have a lot of dollars (in any cryptocurrencies).

395  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitget will introduce mandatory KYC from September 1st on: October 04, 2023, 01:57:10 PM
@BitcoinsGreat. Also, if you want to deposit large amount of funds that you certainly do not want to lose, it might be good for you to do your KYC in advance and know if the exchange will accept your identification cards and other documents.

I would also suggest futures exchanges on DeFi for small minnows. I never trusted exchanges similar to MEXC or Tradeogre hehe.

Yeah, that is why I did the KYC in the first place after making the account at Bitget. After the FTX hack, I do not trust any centralized exchanges and therefore i make sure that i withdraw my money once i complete the trade. That is, i deposit the money in the exchange to buy any coin in the spot for trading, if the trade may take some days to complete, i will withdraw that altcoin to my personal wallet, and when I need to sell, I transfer it again to the exchange, sell it and then move the bitcoins/ usdt back to my personal wallet.

If you follow this strategy, even trading at small exchanges like MEXC becomes risk free.
396  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitget will introduce mandatory KYC from September 1st on: October 03, 2023, 07:38:07 PM

Clearly this is for the purpose of compliance. Exchanges do not want a compliance nightmare that might come to them later if they do not start imposing KYC on their users today.

I recently created an account on Bitget and did the KYC. Don't know if it was mandatory or not at that time but I did it because I think KYC sometimes helps you recover your account in case of any issues. Secondly, I used Binance and FTX before, so I am used to KYC anyway.
For those who do not like KYC exchanges, their options are getting limited day by day. MEXC is the only trusted exchange i know that is still now KYC free, but we never know until how long.
397  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Subaccounts in Bitget on: October 03, 2023, 07:13:20 PM
We always have the option of deleting the subaccounts. So what if we use the 20 subaccounts (to get different deposit address each time) and once used, we delete the subaccount and make a new one ? I never try this because i haven't made all the 20 sub accounts, but if we delete a subaccount, its deposit address is lost and then when we create another subaccount (after the 20th), it will generate a new set of addresses ?
If anyone can confirm this ?

I repeat once again: the presence and number of subaccounts does not affect the number of addresses for deposits. These are in no way related things. Addresses for deposits are generated only in the main account; you cannot generate addresses in sub-accounts, you can only distribute cryptocurrencies to your sub-accounts, which do not have separate addresses.

First of all, I am new to bitget but used subaccounts in FTX for  some time. So if your statement is true, then FTX subaccounts behave in a different manner.

Sorry but if i understand your wording correctly, you are saying that the address for deposit are generated only in main account. We can give our main account address to any person to deposit.

And the 2nd part states that we can only distribute cryptocurrencies to sub wallets but we cannot deposit on those sub account addresses from outside ?

Well, i used FTX before and there i gave my subaccounts bitcoin deposit addresses to different clients and they successfully deposited.
398  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Subaccounts in Bitget on: October 03, 2023, 06:33:08 PM
Not sure the last time you confirmed the number of sub-accounts allowed on each Bitget main account. Last I checked, each main account can support only up to 20 sub-accounts. One is not allowed to withdraw assets from the sub-account directly. Withdrawals are only possible after moving assets from sub-accounts to their main accounts.

You are right, 2 months ago this value was 50, now it is 20. But this is not the limit. If you need more subaccounts, then you need to contact support and they will provide you with this opportunity.

399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be accepted as a dominant currency in the future? on: October 02, 2023, 05:33:03 PM
Tesla accepted bitcoin in the past, but it is no more accepting bitcoin again for now. But there are many companies and sites that are accepting bitcoin through payment processor.

Usually, the companies who will accept Bitcoin will continue to accept Bitcoin until there is any change in the laws of the country or any valid reasons.

As far as Tesla is concerned, that was a manipulative move by Elon Musk as he wanted to pump dump the coins at that moment and it was easy for him as he is an influencer and a big business owner. You never know if Tesla will start accepting Dogecoin anytime in future, we never know.

Leave alone Tesla, other companies who accept bitcoins are more serious about keeping the bitcoin adoption/acceptance forever.

400  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HODL is purely a mental challenge on: October 02, 2023, 04:00:10 PM
I saw HODL for the first time here and was thinking it was a typo error until I started seeing it everywhere and ever since I joined this forum
It is interesting to learn what it meant as it is no different from the normal spelling of hold but this 'Hodl' stands to represent saving for a long time or let me say some years before withdrawing the investment.
How to make it till the final year of HODLing is tougher than being said, because in the real world, saving up for the future comes with lots of challenges and bills and denial of gratification, which might be discouraging to maintain in the long run

Regardless of the spellings, HOLD and HODL do mean the same thing, that is not to sell in panic and keep on holding Bitcoin for the long term.

I understand that everyone's life is full of challenges and there are times we need to sell our crypto holdings, in order to meet urgent need, but this is expectation and can be avoided if we invest only the extra money in crypto. However, real holding refers to a situation in which you sell out of panic, you see that the market is dumped and the fear of losing your portfolio makes you dump and sell your coins.

Remember one thing, we only lose when we sell, as long as you are HODLing then there is every chance that prices will recover and you will be in profits.
