381  Economy / Speculation / Re: High transaction fees affects those who DCA on: December 12, 2023, 01:37:23 PM
The current Bitcoin fees wouldn't have mattered to me because I am not selling, but the fees do matter because I DCA, and I don't want to leave my coins in the centralized exchange. This month, I have spent roughly $5 to $10 in transaction fees when I DCA every week. It may seem small, but in my country, it's enough to cover my feeding expenses for a month cumulatively.

I discussed this issue with my friend, and he suggested I use an exchange that utilizes the Lightning Network. According to him, this would help me get off with no fees any day. While I'm considering this alternative, another option is to wait for a month or two, then use the amount we kept for weekly DCA, hold it for a month or two, and lump sum. This way, i would incur just a one time fee. What are your thoughts on this? I feel like I may use the money kept for DCA for other expenses.
The high transaction fees certainly becomes annoying. Everyone gets affected and is really sucking into my nerves. But what else can we do than to wait for days or weeks until its back to normal. That's why instead of withdrawing or doing DCA weekly, do it monthly just to save up with the fees. For me, this could be the best option, unless if you decide to stop doing DCAing until the fees drops and return to normal.

At least the transaction fees are quite low compared to the past days but yes, still was not good looking and disappointing since it was not the normal trx fee we see. We are not sure how long this situation went okay but we have no option other than just wait or have to pay it. Yes, it was a good decision to just buy BTC in bulk like doing this once a month than paying $3 - $10 every week.
I've noticed that there is a time when the transaction fee is low, we can take advantage of it. We just have to monitor the market changes and timing.
382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 12, 2023, 11:52:36 AM
Indiana Pacers also won against the Detroit Pistons. They are angry, I mean hungry, pun intended. Bennedict Mathurin has 30 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists. This may be the highest stats he recorded this season and I bet it won't be the last. Haliburton with 16 assists. I really feel like we have the Steve Nash version of 2023 at Haliburton. He is growing, without a doubt.
After losing in the In-season tournament, they regained their composure and won their next game against the Pistons.
WAIT!!! Who are they up against? Oh, it's the Detroit Pistons. The team who are currently on a 20-game winning streak. Oh, it's losing my bad. Cheesy

I guess it's already expected that they will win against them because the team is just sh*t. They lost all their games in November, and are currently on a 20-game losing streak. It seems like they're trying to beat the current highest losing streak record in NBA history. It's the Sixers who are holding the record with 28 28-game losing streak, and they did it in 2015.

As for the Pacers, they're one of the teams that many love to watch right now because of the flow of the ball. Haliburton is just a good addition for them, and he's leading in assists right now with around 14 APG I think. Many are saying that the Haliburton-Sabonis trade was an even trade. I hope that with how both players are playing this season, they will say that the Pacers won the trade.

After the Pacers lose to the Lakers in the in season championship, I conclude that they are just a regular team, not on a championship level team yet. It was an expected win here but guess what, they barely cover the spread, I thought they'll be able to win by Blowout as they're coming from a lose and they want to have a big bounce back win.

Right now, Pistons are Spurs are currently racing on maintaining their losing streak.

Pistons -20
Spurs -17.

I'm guessing, Spurs might be in the finish line first.  Grin
383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 12, 2023, 11:32:41 AM
So after a day of break, the NBA regular season will resume tomorrow.

I'm thinking of selecting few games only, just the quality games I feel I'm confident with my pick.
So, here are my early leans.

-2.5 Magic over the Cavaliers.
(Magic is 10-2 at home, they should win and cover the spread)

-11.5 Sixers over Washington Wizards
(Last time Wizards covered, this time around they'll not be lucky)

-2.5 Denver over Hawks
(Hawks just a bad team at home with 3-6 record, Denver should win)

-4.5 Kings over Brooklyn
(I just like the home team here)

4-4, what a lucky you had mate.

Everything was just perfect as the winners were in control of the game in most of the quarters.

I didn't know Murray was already back, and in his first game, he already lead his team to a big win with 29 points.
He doesn look like he wasn't coming from an injury as he still had the same confidence.

Now, Nuggets back to a complete healthy line up.
384  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does technical analysis work in crypto trading? on: December 11, 2023, 09:41:55 PM
For all my 5 months in trading, I'm learning only technical analysis but now everyone is talking about the concept of "Smart Money". So I think that trading is changing and speculators should stop trading based on technical analysis. Or smart money just a concept that cannot possibly work in the market,
You can't win in trading just by using TA only which is why we also have to find another way to make our trades profitable otherwise, we lose. Yes, as the market changes, we also have to level up our market strategies for some of them are obsolete already. We have to adapt to the situation and never stop learning because this is the only we will survive from trading. That is why we could say that trading is not an easy job, it needs more knowledge and effective strategies.
385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 11, 2023, 12:04:57 PM
Chet Holmgren in this match did appear very impressive and he managed to provide 21 points for the Thunder victory over the Warriors, but to say that he deserved ROY is premature assumption.
It just that in the Thunder previous match Chet couldn't perform as well as against the Warriors, but at that time the Thunder lost to the Houston Rockets and Chet was only able to score 4 points.

This is the KIA ranking unpdated on November 30, 2023, and it says that Chet has maintain it's spot at the number 1.

https://www.nba.com/news/kia-rookie-ladder-nov-29-2023-edition

Quote
1. Chet Holmgren, Oklahoma City Thunder
2. Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio Spurs
3. Jordan Hawkins, New Orleans Pelicans
4. Ausar Thompson, Detroit Pistons
5. Brandon Miller, Charlotte Hornets

You see, he is already at the top, it's just that Wemby is more popular because he was overhype, but in terms of stats and contribution to the team, Chet as the upper hand.
386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin investment is the key to success" on: December 10, 2023, 09:53:14 PM
While Bitcoin can be a total money-maker and help you achieve financial freedom, it's not like a magic key that unlocks success in all areas of your life. Success is about a lot more than just having a fat bank account, right?

If you want Bitcoin to be your key to success, it needs to be part of a bigger plan that matches your goals and values. That means having a solid financial plan, spreading your investments around different things, and making smart decisions based on research and analysis, not just gut feelings.

But remember, success isn't just about money. It's also about growing as a person, having meaningful relationships, and contributing to something bigger than yourself. While Bitcoin can help you achieve all of those things, it's just one piece of the puzzle.
Success comes if we work on it, not just dreaming about it. Indeed, we measure success not just through money but it was in all aspects of our lives but usually, people measure it when they have a lot of money (rich), and financial freedom. Investing in Bitcoin helps us generate profit but it doesn't mean that we must be fully reliant on it or have to think that this will be a perfect investment for us to gain financial freedom. More investment gives us a higher chance of achieving it, not just on Bitcoin alone.
387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: December 10, 2023, 10:23:29 AM
expectations vs reality as we all know that we expect a good number of points by the star player of barangay ginebra San Miguel but in reality they didn't have much points even though they are doing their very Best but their effort didn't enough to beat their opponent . Anyways tomorrow's game is very good watch as we all know that magnolia will have a good chance to win us as we all know that thses both team are sisters company.

Ginebra was only limited with 77 points, that's not them, you can really tell that they struggle on their shooting, the ball movement isn't so efficient.

Ahanmissi was probably the missing link, he's expecting to bring offense to the team but he only scored 4 points in the game, he had a bad game and that affected the team a lot. 1-8 shooting only, no one could win if one of their superstars shoot like that, and it seemed like he lost his confidence because of a bad start, i think he shoud have continued shooting until he gets his rthym.

Seems to me that coach Tim is still playing with his cards, I mean still working with Ahanmissi. I used to remember Pringle when he first arrived with Gin kings he got that decent playing time to bring his offensive arsenal. Now it's Ahanmissi, to provide that part and with his poor shooting percentages, the team really suffers.
They can't use Stanley Pringle anymore as he wasn't producing like his usualy days, and he is already 36 years old, seems old enough that could not cope up with the younger and more athletic players. I believe when Pringle was injured and he came back, he wasn't the same anymore, so he would jsut be a role player just like other veterans and Ahanmissi might be leading the way along with Thompson.

Though it's still far from the next round and Gin kings position is still decent in terms of moving forward, they need sparks to start their rally and win their upcoming games.

They need Scottie back to improve their chances of winning, without him, the one who brings a lot of energy to the team, they'll unlikely to beat the strong teams like the Magnolia.

By the way, have you see the first game? The import of Meralco just erupted with 54 points, that guy was legit, he played like Bradley Beal, do you agree?
388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will you say within your limits to encourage responsible gambling? on: December 08, 2023, 02:30:37 PM
For example, suppose you encounter a gambler who has wagered $200 at the table and is currently winning $6k. Would you express to them, "Hey, you're up $6k, and you initially entered this table with $200. Walk away, Take your winnings, go!" or will you say, "It is very admirable to know when to stop"?
You don't do that as that is against business policy. You work based on your job description and you don't discourage a gambler to stop when he's up, or the same when he's down. The casino's main goal is to increase their profit, so you should be supporting them as they are the ones who are paying you, not the gamblers.

What will you say within your limits to encourage responsible gambling?

Just be silent and respect the gamblers as you re not in the position to tell them to stop, they came in the casino so expect that they are already responsible enough.

And, if you are familiar with the words " conflict of interest", don't go against that.
389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why sports betting? on: December 08, 2023, 01:05:13 PM

You just need to know the strength of both teams and how they play to place a very well analyzed bet.

Though this is necessary but it's not that easy to win in sports betting, maybe predicting the winner would be easier because by choosing the favorites all the time, the winning chances could be higher, but with the odds, that would not make you profitable in the long run doing the same strategy.

We have the moneyline and spreads, if we want a better odds we go for the spreads, and though a team would win, but covering the spread is another story as not all who won the game covers the spread. You can be good with your analysis but there's no guarantee of winning, that's why it's so exciting.
390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I will invest the money to buy the land in Bitcoin. on: December 08, 2023, 05:58:45 AM
...

Since I have like 11 thousand dollars right now, I want to invest this amount in Bitcoin instead of keeping it in the bank. I know about investing in bitcoins and I know that there are risks involved, I am investing in the potential to grow money but I want to invest in bitcoins with the understanding that my money may go down due to market volatility. I decided to withdraw the money from the bank at the beginning of the new year and plan to invest the money in bitcoins. Now that I can't buy land, I will definitely hold this investment for a long time so that I get good returns at the end of the long term and I can also accumulate some more money through employment.

At the time I planned it I felt I should have planned it earlier.

a few months ago the price of bitcoin was still around $25k++ now the price is already $40k++ if you started buying bitcoin when the price was still under $30k then now your $11 thousand money has increased almost 1.5 times, well the price of bitcoin continues to increase as time goes by, so don't think long about buying bitcoin, rest assured that when you buy bitcoin at the current price then in the next few years the price of bitcoin will increase rapidly and you will get a profit of 3x or even 5x from the initial value you bought bitcoin at this price, when it's certain that your dream of buying land using Bitcoin will come true smoothly.
From the profit he will earn can be enough to buy land in the future. If we are smart people, we surely think about what is the best thing we do. We can say that Bitcoin investment is profitable but that will also depend on the person who invests because many people have also suffered losses. But why do we say it was a smart choice over buying land? And it is because we thought that Bitcoin has a huge profit potential and we could use the profit to buy land.
391  Economy / Economics / Re: Idea and money are very important to investment. on: December 07, 2023, 02:04:48 PM
To start something a person needs to have some savings with which the work can be started initially. Both are important to achieve success. We need effort and also necessary money to do any work. No one can rise above without effort and investment is not possible without money. Such a source cannot be the only place of trust for a large business these are very useful for small enterprises. The competition to present new ideas is held regularly investment success is high.
Idea is a key player when investing and money will come next. It is useless to have an idea if we don't have money which is why some of us will take a loan and borrow money (even with high interest) just for the sake of having capital for investment. If we want to succeed, we must also spend some money otherwise, nothing happens to our plan or ideas.

I asked one of my friends why they didn't invest but they answered it "Like they want but they don't have money". And a lot of people have dreams of making investments but unfortunately, they won't because of lack of capital.
392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which good altcoins can I hold along with Bitcoin for the upcoming halving? on: December 07, 2023, 01:07:32 PM
This literally the first halving I'm going to experience since knowing about bitcoin. So I've already started holding Bitcoin and lately the progression  has been going well!!.So I've some Lil funds with me but I'm thinking of which good altcoins I can hold for the upcoming  halving, that's going to also skyrocket too. I was thinking about ETH, BNB and SOL. But still, I  need recommendations from you guys about the best altcoins to hold for the halving please.
You have already chosen the good coins in the market and I would say that it was enough. If you still want to invest, better focus on these 3 coins and accumulate more rather than looking for other coins. Earning a profit was not just because we have a lot of coins but it was the amount we hold. In fact, these coins (ETH, BNB, and SOL) have been known for their profitability and I don't think it was necessary to look for another. In this upcoming halving, we expect the price to increase and I was certain that those on the top altcoins will have more chance to pump.
393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 07, 2023, 04:51:16 AM

For me, even if they are played on a different schedule, I would only choose one which is the Clippers vs Nuggets as we already know the outcome of the Warriors vs Blazers, as the latter does not know how to win again, the only thing we would know after the game is if the Warriors will be able to cover the spread.

This game is not looking good if you had bet on the Warriors, they are playing at home and yet they are down double digit. I think most bettors bet on the Warriors to easily cover the -13 spread, and look what's happening, there's even a possibility that the Portland are gonna win this game.
394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: December 06, 2023, 11:55:20 AM
Devin Haney is sensing already that he will be a champion and beat Prograis in a full 12 rounds that's why they are very confident.

He's always very confident in this fight, and the fact that bookies are favoring him to win makes his confidence boost even more. It's a championship fight, and he'll be the new champion if he wins here, so that's alright for him if he gets confident, as he really needs that in a championship fight.

I just wish that Prograis really has the game plan to not allow Haney to dictate the fight. Because if he does, Haney would effortlessly win in a 12-round battle, and judges would hand their decision favoring Haney for a unanimous decision win.
395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: December 06, 2023, 11:21:37 AM
Speaking of betting, seems my bet on Converge is on the risk of losing as NorthPort's lead now balloons to 10 points with 9 minutes to go in the game, hope they can spark a run and win this one.

Yes, and it seems like Converge are enjoying their losing streak.

Those who bet on Converge hoping they'll win still has a chance to win back the losses or at least end the night with a win. As for the coming game, I have the Blackwater +11.5, the odds is 2.09, I took an extra 9%.. also hoping that Magnolia will slow down a bit, and give this game to Blackwater, or least let them cover.

I'm going nuts as well Blackwater ML at 6.30. Let's try our luck here.
396  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Most Traders are Not Profitable on: December 06, 2023, 06:37:23 AM
Well, I could agree that the majority of the traders are not quite making good, most are experiencing losses rather than making a profit and that is because they are still learning or have fallen in the wrong direction. Many traders start trading only knowing the basics, some have started empty, and some are under the influence of these social media influencers --which is definitely not enough to expect passive results but instead terrible losses.
Most people in that they don't want to learn and that is what is influencing their losses because if you take a look at does people that actually do their trading professionally you notice that they even have books that they read its not just about trading. And their are styles that professionals use, their are plenty things to learn is not just about knowing and jumping to start trading, and if you follow what the social media is showing then you want learn because all you will be after always is just the profit.
Perhaps, they have the right mindset about trading but their approach is somewhat wrong, and they think that it is easy. The lack of knowledge and experience is a reason why they fail. That is why we should encourage them to make a priority in learning first rather than thinking about earning quickly because profit is not difficult if we have already good knowledge about trading. And of course, we stop following these influencers but instead, carry ourselves to learn more and discover strategies that will help us grow.
397  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I still hold the investment or sell it? on: December 05, 2023, 10:10:18 PM
Sell if you don't mind for the upcoming bull season but if you think about another ATH, then help yourself to just hold on and wait for it.
I don't think it was a hard decision, as an experienced investor, we already know what is the best thing to do. It was just an option and some people made a decision to sell for some emergencies but it was not a problem as it was badly in need of money. But if we doing this because of the current pump, I don't think it was enough reason IMO.

Anyway, it is your money and you are the one who can decide. Well, just spend a few minutes thinking about it.
398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you feeling FOMO like I am? on: December 05, 2023, 09:43:15 PM
I haven't felt anything other than being overwhelmed seeing Bitcoin surpass $40k before Christmas. I was just taught that the price of Bitcoin will stay low at $40k but very fortunate that it was hitting high more than what I'd been expecting. Therefore, I could say that the bear season is over, we're now on the bullish side of the market. Good thing that I already filled my bag before the surge happened and feel no mistake from doing it earlier than waiting for the price to rise before buying.
399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The worst slot provider ever? on: December 05, 2023, 12:19:18 PM
Why not talk about best slot provider? I mean, based on our individual experience we can name a lot of bad providers but we don't wanna look like we are here to ruin their reputation. But if we discuss about the best slot providers, those who are looking for best experience will be able to get some ideas reading our discussions here.
400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Compounding altcoin profits in bull run? on: December 04, 2023, 09:47:30 PM
I know this is risky as it only takes one altcoin to go to zero to lose my money but I am ok starting with £100 - does anyone else do this?

I honestly never tried this strategy but I think it works depending on the market situation like this time when bull season is coming and of course, the coins we choose. We can't rid of the risk in crypto investment but as long as we are choosing the right/worthy projects we have nothing to worry about.

The only thing I would say is to keep checking your investment trend just to be aware if we need to sell or continue holding. Diversification even usually happens if we no longer see the project has stopped growing.
