401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you need to become a cryptocurrency software developer? on: September 04, 2020, 10:36:11 AM
Blockchain rather. Just like the contemporary software developers that study and make use of different programming languages. The same applies to being a block chain developers. You have to be very good in other programming languages especially java and astute in finding solution to problem. Your understanding and versatility will help you excel in other areas and make you a top notch and full stack developer
402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Not so far from getting BTC globally accepted! Pornhub now accepts BTC & LTC. ;) on: September 03, 2020, 03:49:51 PM
Many people that visit an adult website want to be anonymous, they do not even want people to see the trace. Not even the banks that produce the cards they used in purchasing premium content so I believe this should have been accepted by the adult website for a long time ago. Pornhub is one of the largest adult content sites in the world, so this is good news, it will propel other similar sites to accepting crypto as part of the payment processor.
403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How To Start a Blockchain Project? on: September 03, 2020, 03:45:03 PM
I am not discouraging you but if the project you intend to build or the area you want to explore has been seriously being explored, I will rather ask you to seek a novel project. The reason why I am saying this is that people do not invest that much into a blockchain project anymore so if you launch a project that already exists on the internet without any features that make your own better than the already existing platforms, then I can tell you the result might be unpleasant. Also, do not rely much of getting the bulk of the money you need from investors. There are still some blockchain project that do not seek for contribution from investors.
404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Police reportedly seize South Korea's largest crypto exchange Bithumb on: September 03, 2020, 03:04:31 PM
If this is true, then all I can say is that Bithumb is very greedy. You have build up such a reputation to be the largest crypto exchange in south Korea so if you offer a token as part of the project that was not successful, then they should have returned back investors' money. This is the smartest thing to do and it is being done by some sincere ICO dev in the past. Now they should be ready for the negativity attached to this and the effect on the present and future plans
405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does a Bitcoin news site receive a penalty for copyright on: September 03, 2020, 02:57:35 PM
I suppose you want to make use of already posted news? the answer is yes or no. Yes, you can be charged for copyright infringement is you plagiarized content. Most of the news sites you mentioned copy from a particular source and rewrite it to suit their own narrative with the proper citing of the source. So if you are going to use the same news, you need to rewrite it in your words and cite also the source. You can harmonize different sources together to make a full article
406  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wallet on: September 03, 2020, 01:24:50 PM
If you ask me, the safest places are exchanges, but if you are looking for a secure wallet without joining the exchange, I can recommend https://www.myetherwallet.com/, it has never been stolen and has a super protection strategy.  Cool

Exchange is not the best wallet. The best example here is Mt.Gox, Cryptopia, Bithumb and many exchange that turn in to scam. It’s a bad decision to leave your money on a wallet that you didn’t own the key. But at some point, there are exchange that is safe to store funds like binance and coinbase because they are compliant to the law.

Practically speaking exchange is most convenient wallet if you are a trader but not the safest. Safest wallet is the one that you holds private key or a hardware wallet.
The newbies have limited understanding as regards to DEX wallet which you will have control of the private. A newbie that recklessly lose his/her seed phrase and private key might not be able to retrieve his/her coin from this DEX wallet. However, CEX platform like coinbase is very easy to use and it is very easy to recover your coin in case you cannot remember their login detail
407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: you're making bitcoin complicated on: September 03, 2020, 12:18:04 PM
The reason why it seems complicated to explain to a newbie is that you might not understand how much knowledge the individual knows about bitcoin. From experience, most newbies are interested in a bitcoin wallet, how to trade (include buying with fiat) and where to store them. This is the reason I prefer suggesting a more simpler ways rather than some complex answers. For instance, I will never suggest a DEX wallet for a newbie but rather CEX so incase in carelessly forget information about the wallet, he/she could easily retrieved it. As time past by, they will understand some other types of wallet and their usage. But first, they only need to start make use of the basic one.
408  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it alright to invest with bitcoin at the current market price? on: September 02, 2020, 08:07:13 PM
You do not know if the price will crash or fall and that is the reason why it is very difficult to predict the price. However as regard to investing, I most time convert my bitcoin to stablecoin and do daily trading on binance with bitcoin or ethereum pegged with the stable coin. If you wanna join the current trends of investing in defi token, then I will suggest you take bitcoin and trade it for usdt before start trading but do not forget crypto is very volatile. Anything can happen
409  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Fundamental Analysis or Technical Analysis - which is more important? on: September 01, 2020, 07:51:42 PM
Both technical and fundamental analysis can be made to predict a possible future price. Just like you have said, both do not offer 100% on anything but when you look at the past history of some coin, you will discover some repeated pattern which makes it easy to predict the price however, news and event can sometime influence this repeated chart history but both can provide a baseline for predicting the price at a point
410  Other / Off-topic / Re: It's time to destroy China, don't buy anything from them ,don't deal with them on: September 01, 2020, 04:50:10 PM
I understand how people get frustrated about individuals sometimes but we should rather look inwardly and see how we can create a better world. I do not know where Op is from but every year, my country goes to China to borrow money for capital projects. China doesn't only borrow the money but also provides the manpower thereby creating a source of the job for them. They are treated better than we citizens and enjoy a lot of luxury their professional counterparts who are native of my country do not enjoy. My country government have made themselves look impossible not to depend on them
411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Electrum update: A trader lost 1400 BTC on: September 01, 2020, 03:27:15 PM
So basically this guy was using a ver old version of Electrum which he would have downloaded from some unofficial source and this made the hackers able to steal his funds from his wallet. This is completely the user's fault since he should have installed the latest version of Electrum and that too from an official source.

I don't think the person downloaded his electrum wallet from unofficial source.  Electrum wallet, from time to time were reported being exploited by hackers and this is not the only case that someone lost BTC from electrum wallet upgrade.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/electrum-faces-another-fake-wallet-attack-users-reported-to-lose-millions-of-dollars

Possibly the same strategy is applied in this case.

We must be vigilant in everything we do that involves Bitcoin.   That is why, whenever an upgrade notice appears in Electrum wallet, I always check their main site and see if the upgrade is really needed  or not.

I also share your belief. The owner specifically said the update came from their server. On less, it is being hijacked. Electrum is very vulnerable and it would be better if the dev of that project could present a lasting solution or better close down. Electrum is not the only DEX wallet but the constant vulnerability of the electrum might be an indication that the project need to be redesign with a full and latest security to prevent bridge
412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Ethereum overpower Bitcoin in the future? Which side are you on? on: September 01, 2020, 03:19:09 PM
Ethereum is very evolving and I am very overwhelmed to see the tweet vitalik buterin about possibility of further lowering the transaction fee as part of the project ETH 2.0. This is the reason why I believe with time, we might see a dramatic overtake of the Bitcoin by the Ethereum. I know bitcoin is always favored being the oldest and also has the sole function of being used as a digital currency but when we have another interesting coin with a team that continuously improve the blockchain, I think we might have a rethink
413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / YFI and YFII on: September 01, 2020, 03:09:20 PM
I was a bit confused today when I saw YFII as top gainer on the binance market. I was not familiar with the token. I only know YFI which has been trending for the past 1 month. I checked the Coingecko here https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/dfi-money and I saw that they are different defi project YFI websites is https://yearn.finance/ while YFII is https://dfi.money/. I am just curious to know the connection between the two projects because YFII looks like a new version of YFI. If not YFII could have gone for another ticker name. All probably they want to tap from the YFI FOMO
414  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which type of trading you think is good? on: August 31, 2020, 07:26:57 PM
These are not trading type but rather a signal which for me you might not limit your self to just one. You can combine technical analysis with news to have an holistic representation of how you want your trading to be spread. Also, from experience signal from technical analysis which is basically from the chart history sometime works and sometime it might not but when there is events which is big news. They price can be influenced within few seconds.
415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can anyone please shed some light on TowerBee Project? on: August 31, 2020, 07:17:37 PM
I participated in their bounty campaign long time ago and I got my token. I think it was managed by Sylon. It was a project with a lot of potential and prospect that year. Unfortunately things went bad when the project token sales was over and information about the next phase wasn't communicated just like many other project. The site eventually digress and decide to have their own exchange platform called towers with few coin pairing. The project is technically inactive at the moment
416  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it time to think of cash and bank deposits as different currencies? on: August 31, 2020, 05:41:17 PM
Do you in my country, government through the Central bank makes a rule that make it impossible to collect some little amount of money from the bank. You will be told to make use of your debit card. With the recent pandemic and continuous debate about economic recession people are fearing of losing their money and that is the reason there has been continuous withdrawal more than deposit. I strongly believes it will get to a point when the bank will be limiting the number of withdrawal
417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Non DeFi projects starts going DeFi on: August 31, 2020, 11:14:17 AM
Many project are guilty of this because they see the defi as an additional feature which to me it is not a bad idea if they have concrete reason for doing so. It might be a hype as you have suggested but some already successful project that have built confidence in the people that make use of their product won't want to jeopardize the community by delivering a wash project
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is defi reason for skyrocketing fees? on: August 31, 2020, 10:53:01 AM
Normally, the gas fee increase when the blockchain network become congested. Currently defi is trending and it is a huge hype that makes the network getting congested so in this case defi is contributing to the reason why the transaction fee is high but also any time the price of Cryptos is getting high, the transaction fee too become high irrespective of defi or not.
419  Economy / Speculation / Re: History shows Bitcoin price may take 3-12 months to finally break $20K on: August 30, 2020, 06:09:45 PM
I dont think bitcoin can reach 20k in the current future it will remain stuck in the 11/10k range
It can't be stuck in that amount. It is either it falls back below 10k or move up. Actually the recovery of the bitcoin has been great and for the past couple of weeks the recovery is incredible. I have no doubt about what the op said. We might see another bitcoin rally very soon. I don't know maybe it will reach 20k but it is very likely the next rally might take the price to something very close to that. We will keep on monitoring closely
420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Electrum update: A trader lost 1400 BTC on: August 30, 2020, 01:56:08 PM
According to a tweet shared on the CZ Binance twitter page, a trader has lost around 1400 BTC due to electrum software updates. Some other users of electrum wallet also complained that the message about update comes directly from the electrum server.
