281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The main driving force behind bitcoin rally on: November 11, 2020, 08:57:35 AM
crypto market respond to speculation both negatively and positively. So when there is price rally, you have to keep looking out for the positive speculations that might cause sudden rise in the price. Paypal adoption is one good example that I will like to point out. The announcement by Paypal created a kind of vibe that make people to rush to holding bitcoin for a long time goal. This is because when such big payment platform adopt bitcoin, it drives some of their competitive to consider it too
282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Risks Of Bitcoin Going To Zero Has Gotten More Lower Than Ever on: November 11, 2020, 08:52:15 AM
What do you expect? every year, the use of the blockchain technology is getting high and adoption getting increased. If bitcoin will not survive, it must have died within 1 year of the launch because those periods were the hardest for bitcoin to grow due to low adoption. It is  impossible to see bitcoin going back to zero even if there is massive ban in many countries. People will still find a way to make bitcoin work and guess what, 2021 might be the year we see a lot of international company adopting bitcoin too
283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter didn’t completely disable posting bitcoin addresses on: November 10, 2020, 08:14:27 PM
But most scammer use script that is being pointed at by a url. I do not see how this will prevent scam except if the scammer make a post and put the bitcoin address which I do not think people might fall for it. Those scammers with Elon Musk giveaway either post text image containing website that contain the bitcoin addresses and fake recent transaction to make the victim think it is legitimate and by the way this is not apply to bitcoin. I posted ETH address and it was not restricted
284  Economy / Economics / Re: Biden and Cryoto on: November 10, 2020, 06:58:36 PM
I think trump doesn't like crypto. He has made statement indicating his displeasure for the coin so I don't think we are going to see any worse than that in the newest regime. However, Biden seems to always want to listen and shares different people view on anything before deciding so I literally think it is not likely he will hate crypto like trump a lot of businesses in the united states including coinbase are doing great. I wouldn't think anything will stop the evolvement of the crypto in US
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Thoughts on Probit exchange on: November 09, 2020, 09:41:42 PM
I have traded my token their in the past and it was a good experience. Just as you have pointed out, they charge higher fee compare to some other big exchange platform. Generally, you need to calculate the conversion of the token you have and see if the ETH you will purchase will be enough to be withdrawn from the platform, if not you can exchange it for stablecoin and used that to buy coin with lower withdrawal fee e.g DOGE.
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be a wise investor on: November 09, 2020, 08:56:11 PM
Unless you are thinking of buy top coin, most new projects hardly recover back to the public sales price not to talk of gaining above the sales price. This is because of low user cases except coin such as Uniswap token, I hardly find new project that you can count on. Sometime it is better to even buy from the exchange in which a new token is listed before organic growth starts. Also, most new projects become dead few months after the public token sales contributing nothing but junks to the wallet.
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Uniswap has made it easier for scammers? on: November 09, 2020, 05:57:34 PM
It is the part of the cons of decentralized exchange. Maybe you are just noticing this now but DEX have always being the home of recycled and expired token (used and dump). Unfortunately, there is little anyone can do about it other than to report any scam project having a sale swap on the DEX to prevent others falling victims. Alot of project reported on the scam accusation sections make use of DEX platform to collect money from the investors. Kingswap is getting launched soon probably we can see how they intend to tackle scammers
288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I accept Bitcoin for payments on my online store? on: November 08, 2020, 07:15:44 AM
It depends on many factors such as the popularity of crypto in you demographic location, do you ship internationally ?. The average price of the commodity you listed on your online store. I will start with my last point. As you know high transaction fee is the major challenge in using bitcoin, it might be unreasonable for a customer to to order for commodity that the cost of the transaction fee is greater than the price of the commodity. Such customers might opt to buy using fiat. If you reside in country that the use of bitcoin to buy goods and services is very common, then you might give it a shot. If you allow international customers in your store and provide shipping to many part of the world, then it might good addition to your payment processors
289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: lets imagine world without fiat currency on: November 08, 2020, 07:02:19 AM
For essential supplies, Bitcoin can still be used to pay for the products and services. The good thing about Bitcoin is that you don't really need to buy or own 1 or more bitcoins in order to take advantage of the benefits it offers. People easily get carried away from they hear the price of bitcoin forgetting you can get started already with smaller quantities. Once that mindset is removed, we can start pegging the price of these commodities to denominations in BTC.  No matter how high Bitcoin's price get, it would still be possible to get small denominations.
The op is talking about sustainability and not about the price alone. Bitcoin has a limited supply. The earlier adopters holds the highest numbers of coin. However, the concept of halving which I do not know truly maybe it reduces the total supply of the bitcoin. I generally think bitcoin is not sustainable to be used globally as the only currency due to the limited supply, increasingly high transaction fee etc. The fiat currencies we have today are being recycled and new one are minted. holistically, it is more sustainable than the bitcoin although this is because it is being controlled and regulated by the government. By further increase in bitcoin price which also increase the transaction fee, a time will come that the cost of transaction fee will be twice the price of the commodity you intend to purchase with bitcoin.

291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another 2017 kinda year is already around the corner on: November 06, 2020, 04:08:40 PM
Yeah, there are similarities with 2017

In 2017 we had ICO scamming people. Now we have DeFi scamming people.

Bitcoin support by paypal, the halving, corona virus crisis and good bitcoin price performance, all that together, made a lot of eyes turn into bitcoin.
I hope people focus in what is important in this ecosystem: bitcoin.

Stay away from defi scams and be safe.
When the pandemic started, I literally think bitcoin will die but It is very interesting to see that the price has risen better than the previous year when there was no pandemic and to cap it all, we are seen a big adoption by paypal which for me, I could not believe when the rumour started but here we are now, about to witness another history
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEO still standing strong as ever on: November 05, 2020, 04:51:24 PM
IEO on top exchange platforms and not on the low tier exchange platforms that are solely relying on the money from the listing fee and traffic to their website from traders. There is still some project like JACS that does ICO most of them now have a dedicated team that has a traceable identity and also a registered business. Knowing fully well how far investors can go to get them prosecuted, they either return back the investors money when the project is not successful or get the token listed to allow them to trade it off
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My take on DeFi bounties on: November 05, 2020, 12:19:13 PM
I would rather considered some of them to be overhype rather than being a scam. Most of them are getting listed even though the token price might have fall greatly. The point is that many dev team take advantage of trending topics just as many of them ported into IEO after ICO. Except those one that have clear roadmap and dedicated team, many will die
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Universal wallet? on: November 04, 2020, 06:31:39 PM
I have no idea a wallet that support all type of coin but trustwallet is a multifunctional wallet that supports varieties of blockchain based token. If paccoin is being developed on its own blockchain then it means you are going to store it in their own wallet provided except otherwise. MEW is for token that are ERC-20 compliance you can not store crypto that are not ERC-20 compliance on it
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hurray! Binance did it again on: November 04, 2020, 03:41:14 PM
It is part of the benefit of trading on centralized exchange especially those that offer a form of insurance for traders in case of scam and hacks not to talk of petty help such as traders mistakenly sending a token to a wrong address within binance network. Doing this will make them to be more credible and be honest. I wish Binance team all the best kudos

297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could Tether (USDT) be really called decentralized cryptocurrency? on: November 03, 2020, 10:13:02 AM
USDT is developed by a centralized company using a decentralized blockchain network so in that case, we cannot call USDT decentralized crypto anymore. Most project sugar quote statements in order to suit their narratives. You hardly see a blockchain project that won't mention the word 'Decentralized" today, even some coin such as monero that is decentralized are being traded on centralized platforms
298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: USDT lost during transfer to Coinbase Wallet??? on: November 03, 2020, 10:06:36 AM
Thanks for answers guys. I knew Coinbase account doesn't support USDT, but I'm using Coinbase Wallet, which is a software wallet different than my coinbase exchange account. It's the equivalent of Metamask, Trust Wallet, etc.

Here below is a screen capture of my wallet, it definitely supports USDT, I have a small amount in it.

Where did you download wallet from ? it it from official coinbase website because the one I downloaded from coinbase google store does not support USDT. by the way, USDT have various blockchain probably you might have sent an OMNI usdt to erc-20 wallet or viz versa. you will need to check this before making transfer in case of future needs
299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will happens to those DeFi project now? on: November 03, 2020, 09:46:21 AM
It will follow the same pattern others crypto are. Those that do not have a working product or a fully functional time will fade away with time. The project will be dead and token will be valueless. Others that have and continuously developed will continue to do so and will stand the test of time. It is no longer new that people are now back into investing in a project with a lot of prospects and not on mere hype
300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anonymous teams on: November 02, 2020, 05:44:52 PM
Almost all projects are doing this except some projects that is fully registered and comply with the financial regulation of the country in which they are based. The reason for this is that many of this projects are being carried out by some team that already conducted a known project that is already dead but keeps pushing for another new projet. Some also do this with the aim of scamming investors
