461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you lost money on Bitcoin you either bought in the red or you didn't hodl on: August 20, 2020, 05:04:49 PM
Those who bought at the red were those at disadvantage for now. This is because ever since then, the rise in price has not reached such a high price again. Until the price reaches high time high, these group of people will still be in loss. However, from the chart you have posted, it is certain that the price of bitcoin will one day be higher than the previous peak rise which is more reason why we should keep on holding. The ability of individual to be perseverance will determine this.
462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good news on: August 20, 2020, 09:48:57 AM
It is mere speculations, just like in the past. The price of bitcoin can go in any direction, irrespective of the hash rate. Currently, the price has dropped back below 12k with little resistance between 11.6k and 11.7k. Unless you buy when it was 12k and sells shortly after a few rises, if not you must be lost by now. When the price of bitcoin break high like this, people take profit which result in price but hopefully ones this barrier is overcomed, then we can go ahead above 12k again
463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / A Restaurant convert entire savings to Bitcoin on: August 20, 2020, 08:10:26 AM
According to the tweet https://twitter.com/TheRealTahinis/status/1295770434349281281. Tahinis, A Canada-based Middle Eastern restaurant has converted all their entire savings to bitcoin.

The decision to turn the cash holdings to cryptocurrencies emerged in the March crash and as the Canadian government started to offer aid services to companies struggling to stay open owing to the pandemic.

With the U.S. and Canada printing money to support their crippled economies, Tahini's owner Omar Hamam began to see the financial system as "a play of tic tac toe being played right now, and music will halt and some people would be left out."

Hamam said he was worried that handouts and money printing would devalue the economy of the fiat. "It was clear to us that cash did not have the same appeal," he added. "In the end, with all the extra currency floating in the market, the capital will be worthless."

He decided to convert the business's savings to Bitcoin as it "gives a much viable choice to saving cash." He said they would proceed to use Bitcoin as a reserve asset — "perhaps permanently if we don't need fiat."
464  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How long does it take for an order to complete? on: August 18, 2020, 06:04:37 PM
I believe Bittrex has high active traders and you must have set an order limit which means your order will be filled when the condition for the order limit is met. In case you want to sell and want your order to be filled immediately on high liquidity platform, you will need to set this to market order and it will be completed at current price. however, in some low liquidity exchange platform, you will have to wait for buy order volume to be high enough above the sell order
465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which site do you use to get fresh updates on different projects event on: August 18, 2020, 03:49:32 PM
The most site that provides updates about projects does not have features that make you get a notification anytime a new project shows up so you will need to be checking manually just like the old days when bounty hunting is still lucrative and profitable, bounty section used to be most viewed. While many ICO project site has lost their integrity, Cointelegraph has a press release link that gives an update about new and existing project. you can also subscribe to their digest https://cointelegraph.com/press-releases
466  Economy / Economics / Re: how in the world is btc at $12.303,28? on: August 18, 2020, 03:27:20 PM
It is like you do not study the previous bull runs. If the price of bitcoin can continue to increase during this period that every country is complaining of the hardship due to the pandemic then you should have known the rise in price is another form of manipulation. Check the cryptowhale on twitter and collect the statistics of stablecoin that are being minted and those transfer to the exchange platform, especially Binance and Huobi, then you will understand where the pump is coming from even though the transaction fee is getting high.
467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH Gas transactions price is about to hit 300 on: August 18, 2020, 09:29:06 AM
The same is already happening. The trading volumes of the coin such as dogecoin is increasing daily and it seems the price of ETH is stalked at $430. One of the importance of crypto is the ability to transfer a huge amount of money with a small transaction fee which when compare to traditional banking, the latter has an exorbitantly high fee. ETH 2.0 will need to address this by making sure the transaction fee is much less
468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you use BTC to generate passive income like ERC20 tokens? on: August 18, 2020, 06:44:45 AM
Passive income? I will like you to elaborate on this and maybe give an example of how ERC20 token that are known to be generally more volatile can earn you passive income through staking or any of the other methods you have mentioned. The last time I checked, when the market started bleeding, some of these altcoins prices even drop as low as 50% so automatically you must have earned a particular token but the price will be justified by the present market price. I personally do not think you can generate passive income with crypto due to market volatility
469  Economy / Economics / Re: Fixed amount vs. infinite coins on: August 17, 2020, 05:33:33 PM
I disagree with you in some areas. Firstly, there are many business areas that operate daily that you can buy with bitcoin. I will not start mentioning this because there are many threads this has been discussed. You can search for it yourself. I believe the area you specifically make reference to is the most important to you but with time maybe we shall see more food store accepting bitcoin although there are still some fast-food restaurant that accept it https://cointelegraph.com/news/retailers-around-the-world-that-accept-crypto-from-pizza-to-travel
470  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Germany the NEW World’s Crypto Superpower on: August 17, 2020, 04:42:55 PM
Germany is among the countries that do not hide their backing of cryptocurrency with a legal framework that allows individuals to trade and use bitcoin just like fiat. In fact it is known that some banks in Germany are declaring their intention to offer crypto-related services https://news.bitcoin.com/banks-germany-crypto/ which I believe with all this support for crypto, Germany is by far is one of the most friendly and generous nation to crypto-related services
471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Blackmail E-mails on: August 17, 2020, 10:49:55 AM
I have been a victim of this type of mail in the past and the most horrible thing there was that the password contained in the mail was truly the right password which when I checked online I discovered it was leaked through cashrate. Unfortunately for the hacker, I have no single penny so I could not pay the ransom. I moved on and change my password. I was hoping he will leak all the video as he has narrated in the mail but up till date nothing like that ever leaked  Grin. The Op should change his password and forget about this
472  Economy / Economics / Re: Will African countries be developed? on: August 16, 2020, 03:51:36 PM
Many individuals think the continent Africa lack the leaders that can drive economy and bring about the continuous development but having a good leader is just one of the many problem to be solve. Until everyone have the right mentality and help also in building and contributing their own quota, things might not change. Nigeria for instance, have more than 100 mineral resources in abundant, yet 27.1% which 21.7 million Nigerian remain unemployed https://nairametrics.com/2020/08/14/breaking-nigeria-unemployment-rate-jumps-to-27-1/.
473  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: which is a good option?? Trade or Hodl on: August 16, 2020, 03:36:05 PM
I will advise you not to keep any project token especially if you are not ready to monitor the progress of the coin. This is because many projects go inactive and might even get delisted with time. It is better you trade them and hold strong coin such as bitcoin and Ethereum. However, in case you do not know how to trade, It is better you keep holding rather than trading because you might end up losing your coin due to market volatility
474  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Will Dex's Dominate the Cex's in near future? on: August 16, 2020, 11:48:42 AM
Aside uniswap, you must also take note the trading volume of other DEX and make a comparable difference with that of the other CEX. While DEX is very good if you don't want to provide any of your identity, transaction charges are high and low liquidity rate. There is no doubt that DEX will dominate CEX in the nearest future as the CEX platforms too are continuously developing with integration of new feature
475  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop-lose any recommend? on: August 16, 2020, 11:42:11 AM
Stop loss is not a bad feature and it is really used to minimize your lost. You must have used it wrongly. My advice for you is to stop trading for awhile and try to learn all these trading features and how to use them. If you want to start all over, make sure you start by using demo account to put what you have learn into practice. I do daily trading and anytime I wont be able to follow my trading, I make sure I do not place any active trading unless you pan to use stop loss
476  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading without setting stop loss (Risky or Not)? on: August 15, 2020, 05:18:10 PM
I will love to know how far you have been trading with this strategy, I don't use stop-loss also especially when I am doing day trading this is because I have learnt a great lesson I used to trade Bull and Bear token. One night, the price went down greatly below the resistance level and almost half of my profit had gone. My advice to you is either you set a stop-loss or do not have active trading especially at night when you want to sleep or anytime you will not have a chance to be checking your trading
477  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: $10 000 to invest, but at which price to buy? on: August 15, 2020, 05:01:13 PM
If you are interested in buying and investing for a long time, then you need to buy when the price deep then the next question will be when is the price will be deep. It is not normally advisable to buy when the price of bitcoin is very high especially unless you want to strategies your buying option and decides to buy little by little. However, bitcoin price is known to be very unstable so there is no guarantee for anything but it is better to minimize your loss.
478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: With this recent surge in BTC, is it possible to have all time high this year? on: August 15, 2020, 02:54:05 PM
There are specific reason for the current rally in price just like it was in the past, people have speculated that the price is going down due to pandemic and economic crisis but no one is certain of the future of the bitcoin. It may go up and attain or ever surpass the all time high price. If you wanna take the risk it is left for you
479  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BitMex demanded KYC documents. on: August 15, 2020, 09:59:50 AM
I think Bitmex is centralized so why are you surprised that they are asking for KYC. I do not think it is because you mixed your coin using a specific mixer which as becomes a subject of discussion on some exchange. You should have used DEX since you want to reveal any of your identity. Just a day ago, Bitmex posted it on their twitter page that they have make KYC mandatory so it seem like a wrong timing for you as you will need to provide KYC document in order to move your coin. This is inevitable https://twitter.com/BitMEX/status/1294076436811321344
480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make old people understand Bitcoin? on: August 15, 2020, 09:47:20 AM
It is easy for old people that are educated and show interest in learning. These are very rear but they exist. For some of them that already know how to make bank transaction (i.e sending money though mobile app and USSD code) you can easily teach them to send and receive bitcoins using wallet such as the bitpay. I may not suggest DEX  wallet totally for them because if they lost their seed phrase, it may be difficult
