Even among same manufacturer and model, ROMs could not be compatible..in my case,
I have four Gigabyte RX560s, but two are Hynix and two are Micron memory, totally
different timings and bios is not interchangeable...so if you dont know what to do,
extract your BIOS and post it here so someone can eventually check for you

Well damn... but I don't see how they would know it was for mining. The BIOS just needs to check if any of the standard mining algorithms were executed on the GPU, such as SHA256, Equihash, Ethash, etc., and if such an algorithm is detected over a sustained period of time, then trigger an e-fuse to mark the GPU as warranty-voided. THAT easy? We're all doomed

I've built ASM kernels for Baffin (RX460/560) cards with good speedup for DCR/SIA/PASC and may be 1% for ETH, now I check what I can do for Nvidia cards. New version will be available in 2-4 days.
Impatiently waiting for this I'm curious, would optimizations help your zcash miner too, I find it strange that old 7850 1GB Radeons have 50% better performance than RX560s with 4GB memory I think the 7850 does not work on ETH. Thats why I asked for https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1670733.0 ?

hi guys, i have two RX 560 one Sapphire pulse Overclock and MSI aero ITX, i read all post here but never has read wich GPU model you can make bios mod. Can you help me ?
All of them

Sorry if this has been asked - the search feature is not working for me.
I'm curious if there are any coins other than BURST that currently use the hard drive mining technique or any coins expecting to do this in the future? I was thinking of dropping a decent amount of money into it, but with it just being BURST that I know of at the moment I'm not sure it's worth it to get in at this point.
maidsafecoin (but not yet)?

How they detect its been used for mining?

I modded the bios successfully and increased the mining speed to ~14.xxx mh/s with the following settings:
bios mod:
1750 timings -> 1875, 2000 max memory clock 2000 -> 2200
amd radeon settings:
gpu clock -> 1125 (underclock) memory clock -> 2000 fan -> 100%
ASIC is 65% and 75% so they run 60° and 53°. Memory is Micron 4GB. Could push the memory clock further now but I'm satisfied and let them work for 48h.
I think they could do 15.xxx mh/s but with much more power draw and heat dissipation.
And disable crossfire in amd tool, enabled by default!
Hi, thank you for your hints. I have some problems trying to flash my bios: - I back up my original BIOS using AtiWinFlash v.2.74 - I modify the bios putting the new values using PolariBiosEditor Master 1.4 - I save the new BIOS into a new file - I put the new BIOS on the RX 560 using AtiWinFlash v.2.74 again But.... whatever I try to change in the BIOS, after the reboot, the ATI driver stops to recognise the ATI card... WHERE AM I WRONG ? maybe is it a checksum problem (this may be the reason why the driver doesn't see the card anymore) Thank you in advance I think its answered few hundred times on this board alone...you have to patch your video drivers to recognize your card with modified BIOS Edit: you can download patcher here: https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-AMD-ATI-Pixel-Clock-Patcher

Epoch #22? When was that, 2 years ago?
It is EXP. I made test on ETH especially for you)) on Epoch #132 Interesting...care to share your full command line? I tried exp too, and can'd do better than around 12.5 on exp or eth (have similar numbers for both), however I can reach dcr 360 with almost no drop on eth/exp performance with -dcri 60 in command line Edit: my mistake assuming everyone uses ETH for speed testing, but at least I learned something new...EXP actually seems good option for people with slow rigs mining to exchange wallets with big cap on ethereum (0.5 on Poloniex, for example)

35ºC you must live in north pole... i think rx460 could do similar results. I'm getting 11.8 mh/s out of the box. no oc, no bios.
Somehow You are right I put my rigs in refrigerator )) I did unlock, overclock and bios on rx460. I could get only 14.5 mh/s for Solo mining. On dual they are very unstable. But, RX560 are better in performance and stable. Epoch #22? When was that, 2 years ago?

You could still do it...if only your card would be 4GB version

As previously stated, you should mine in a pool.
...or maybe wait just a bit longer to score a hit

Why would you mine ZEC with RX560, when there is GTX 1050, and it puts out around 150 sol OC'ed?
Because he didn't know its slow? I only tried claymore, which is not optimized for Baffin yet, maybe some other miner performs better, though Edit: I tried again because meantime I changed BIOS, this is better result, but still nothing to write home about: 21:10:16:663 ec ZEC: 06/23/17-21:10:16 - New job from zec-eu1.dwarfpool.com:3333 21:10:16:668 ec target: 0x0007ffff (diff: 8192H) 21:10:16:674 ec ZEC - Total Speed: 220.510 H/s, Total Shares: 4, Rejected: 0, Time: 00:01 21:10:16:680 ec ZEC: GPU0 108.595 H/s, GPU1 111.915 H/s 21:10:16:934 24c4 GPU0 t=63C fan=56%, GPU1 t=62C fan=31%

Can anyone try this card with zCash?
Using Claymore 12.5, old 7850/1GB card is twice as fast So around 300 Sol/s? around 80

Did you oc the R9? 16.3 work with the rx480, they were recommended by Claymore after release 9.x But for R9 they best are 15.12. What do you mean by "picking up the rx 480 as a general one"? Did you DDU the drivers before installing 16.3?
Did anyone tested different drivers for R9 cards? My vanilla unmodded R9 380 mines 20.5MH/s ETH + 330MH/s SIA with latest 17.6.2, but I'd gladly revert to 15.12 if I'll mine more Mine does 19.5 ETHC plus 590 DCR +20 1100 1425 OC With 15.12 drivers?

How to find what ram have gpu before buy?
I bought 4 from same vendor at once, and got 2 micron and 2 hynix...and no way to find out as they're phisically the same

SRBpolaris editor seems easiest one to use: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1882656.0For other RX cards people usually claim Hynix to be the best memory, but for my cards Micron seems to be a bit better (but maybe it could be its down to my lack of experience with bios modding, too ) Do I have to use atikmdag patcher after modifying BIOS? Should I mod my cards before installing AMD drivers? I think you can use it whenever, but you HAVE to use it for drivers to recognize cards once bios is modded
