421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Are So Many Altcoins Worthless After a Little Time on: November 21, 2020, 03:02:28 AM
It's just that, it's so easy to create an altcoin because there's already a lot of open source projects out there, you only need to modify it a little bit, change then name, and you got yourself an altcoin that is worthless. Most have initial good start but that doesn't really mean much if they all have the same features. So you got yourself some worthless altcoins.

Step 3.

423  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: DITO stocks - dapat ba mag invest na DITO? on: November 20, 2020, 01:08:07 PM

I think nasa tao nayan kung gusto nila ng safe or risky investment.

424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the price of Bitcoin now? Take profit or greed? on: November 20, 2020, 12:47:57 PM
This doesn't sound serious to me.Do you think that many crypto traders are going to sell their BTC just because they want to buy some shit for Christmass.Dude, people have credit cards for that. Grin

Does everything have to be serious when it comes to selling Bitcoin? No right? It's up to people to decide whether they would do it or not. Christmas is just one of the reason I thought because some people are actually selling some Bitcoins for profit (because why not?) to have a good Christmas this year. Not Everyone use credit card to buy some things for Christmas.
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why can't the current Ethereum price keep up with the Bitcoin price? on: November 20, 2020, 08:11:34 AM
If you consider the current market of 2017 and 2020, there's just a huge difference. 2017 was the year of ICO which was under Ethereum so there's no doubt that Ethereum had a really great year alongside Bitcoin. If you look at the current situation, Bitcoin was hype not because of ICO, but because of different factors like Paypal, elections, stocks, etc, that greatly affects the investors to invest in Bitcoin alone.
426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the price of Bitcoin now? Take profit or greed? on: November 20, 2020, 06:50:55 AM
I am a non-trader too, for now. As a personal strategy, I set a line where I am going to sell my bitcoin, I do not mind the FOMO higher price than what I have sold it because I have needs for the money that will benefit me in the long run. I sort of think of it as diversifying my investments.

I second this. Christmas is around the corner and no doubt that a lot of people would be needing money for their wants and needs this coming season so it's actually a good price to sell some of your Bitcoin (at least not all of you Bitcoin though), unless you bought at a peak.
427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All markets in 2020 on: November 19, 2020, 08:23:05 AM
No doubt about that. This year started with a BANG with DeFi projects blasting off the market upward. More events contributed like ETH 2.0, Paypal, Halving, and so much more. This is probably one of the best year of cryptocurrency and I think this even defeat 2017 because everything was natural, no big HYIP hypes that ruined a lot of peoples lives (Remember that Bitconnect scam?), and natural adoption of famous companies. Truly a good year for us.
428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another mistake in Bitcoin fees? on: November 19, 2020, 07:44:13 AM
This guy is probably trying to hurry up to trade in a exchange, especially that Bitcoin is so volatile right now. Probably trying to catch something and swap transaction fee to transaction amount.

OR maybe it's like pooya87 said, it's probably money laundering too. Bribing doesn't make sense to me, so he's probably trying pay something from that miner (probably for drugs?).
429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proof - The long Hodl on: November 18, 2020, 07:46:41 AM
These times are proof that when you buy high, not panic and HODL for the future is rewarding

You really can't say that because 3 years is a lot of time and imagine the business opportunity you could have made if you didn't lose a lot of money during the 2018 dump. What if you want to buy some DeFi projects that you think will pump but your money is stucked in BTC? then you'll lost potential profit.
430  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin after 3rd Halving prediction on: November 18, 2020, 06:57:50 AM
Looking at the current year and the chart, you can already see that their prediction is way off the current market situation so I really doubt that we will get something like they stated there, or at least something close. It's just another one of those predictions so I hope don't take this seriously. Anyway, I hope people don't get their expectations too high.
431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After ICO, market has IEO. After DeFi, market has CyberFi. Be cautious! on: November 17, 2020, 07:36:20 AM
What's there to be cautious about? Crypto space is opened for new ideas and they are welcome at any time, we only need to figure out which project team are serious about what they introduced, ICO, IEO, DEFI all have high quality projects backing them up so new ideas are highly welcome.

Don't be naive. This isn't like some place where you can get your money back when you fucked up, this is the internet. You need to be cautious of everything. The market is already saturated with scammers and some money grabbing projects. This is a decentralized and anonymous place, if you are not cautious, You'll lose your money in no time.

Yes new ideas are welcome but that doesn't mean the man behind this idea has good intention. You don't know who you are dealing with so you need to be always careful and mindful of what you are going to do.
432  Other / Archival / Re: 6 Most Popular Criticisms Of Bitcoin on: November 17, 2020, 07:26:13 AM
Most of this things will solve itself with time because Bitcoins Development has always been active all this time. In fact, if I remember correctly, there's a new system that the developers are developing to make Bitcoin faster and more secure but I forgot the name (anyone can point this out).

I just don't get why articles like this nitpicks minor details just to make Bitcoin look bad when in fact when you compare it to fiat currencies, Bitcoin will look like a safe haven for people who wants to save their money.

Wasteful? can be used for illegal activity? can be replaced by a competitor? Bitcoin is not backed by anything? did they mistook Bitcoin for fiats?
433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODL ₿itcoin for Life, not for Lifetime. on: November 16, 2020, 06:14:07 AM
What's your opinion? Should we HODL for Life or for Lifetime?

HODL Until you get your desired price. That way, you'll minimized your greed and expectations like what happened to you, you probably hold because you didn't set a reasonable price and you expect too much which turns out to be a disappointment.
434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does China FUD matter anymore? on: November 16, 2020, 03:34:04 AM
We can't deny that China really has greatly impact Bitcoin but that won't be long. China FUD can still affect Bitcoin in some ways but that doesn't really mean it will significantly change Bitcoin. BTC dominance is spreading in different areas, sooner or later we'll have Chinas dominance insignificant.

I think for now, their FUD still matters if they timed it right.
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you really think crypto stand a chance agaisnt the financial system on: November 15, 2020, 03:33:37 PM
No, but I do know that the financial system is evolving into digital forms, even integrating cryptocurrencies into their system. I really don't see any competitions between them to be honest. I see them as tools, coexisting to make the life of people more convenient. Who knows, we might even see the day where every fiat currency has their own decentralized stablecoin (a pipedream, I know).
436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy Low, Sell High on: November 15, 2020, 02:47:00 PM
That pretty much sums up all of the pump and dump events that happened in Bitcoin over the last few years. FOMO when they see Bitcoin pumping and FUDs when Bitcoin starts dumping again.

People always want assurance but they're afraid to take the risks. They always seek reasons to buy and to sell. Trading and investing are about taking the risks based on how we understand the market flow but others rely on the hype which results in regrets later on.

It's because people have this mentality that if it's trending, it is worth looking into since it attracts a lot people into it. They will feel that they are missing out into something so important that if they missed it, they'll regret it later.

437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be very cautious with your alts this period, you either sell early or hold. on: November 14, 2020, 02:41:31 AM
Why does it matter when you bought or at what prize?
Either you believe in the future for the coins your holding and then you should keep them, if you don't see a positive future sell them. It doesn't matter if you are on plus or minus, it's all about what you think about the future.

Basing decisions on if you are on plus or minus is the biggest rookie mistake I would say.

It matters if you consider the longevity of the time you are going to hold the coins. Like for example, if you bought $20,000 during 2017 and planned to do a short term trade but suddenly the price got dump, then it'll really impact your decision. At this point, most traders are just in for the potential monetary profit that they will gain for a limited time and they are seeing Bitcoin or altcoin as an option because of their volatility.
438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal finally allowed BTC on: November 14, 2020, 02:21:55 AM
"The shift to digital forms of currencies is inevitable, bringing with it clear advantages in terms of financial inclusion and access; efficiency, speed and resilience of the payments system; and the ability for governments to disburse funds to citizens quickly." -- Dan Schulman, CEO of Paypal

If you can't beat them, join them. That's pretty much what happened in Paypal since Bitcoin is just going out of control now.

Although this isn't really the best way to store Bitcoin, this just pave a way for those who have average knowledge about computers to invest in something that they aren't aware of. This really is a good year for Bitcoin.
439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Pain of bounty hunters on: November 13, 2020, 02:25:58 AM
You're kind and supportive to the bounty hunters. But the project developers, they won't give you any attention if that's what you want.
All they care is about the advantage that they can get from people who will help them with the exposure of the project and gain a lot of investors.

Yes, that's why bounty campaigns managers will need to set a standard that would force hiring projects to comply. Like for example: escrow, rewards paid in BTC/ETH, if they do it this way, it will lessen the scams and at the same time will have a benefit for all people involve. At least some bounties are actually this examples now.
440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New mining pool imposes KYC and censorship on: November 13, 2020, 01:56:24 AM
Not that serious. There's a lot of mining pool all over the world and those who restrict miners will probably changed into a mining pool that has a decent service so that KYC probably won't be a problem because those who mining pool who comply will lose.

It's not like US is the whole world anyway.

The skeptical me thinks that this new mining pool is secretly created by the government to encourage other mining pools to do something similar.

Nope. Pretty stupid if they think that this will work.
