421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do meme coins have a future? on: June 06, 2023, 11:58:30 PM
IMO, it doesn't have.
It's possible that some meme coins could establish themselves as viable cryptocurrencies with real-world utility that can survive in the long run, most of them were made in pure hype by their own influencers.

Meme coins, such as Dogecoin and Shiba Inu, gained significant attention and popularity in recent times due to their popularity with internet memes and viral content which I think will slowly be faded away when the time comes no one talks to them because the fact is they don't have a real utility.

When you deserved it to have by determining your effort, why not.
Try to look at this thread made by @fillippone, if you feel that you've contributed a good thread why not post it there, someone will help you for sure.

The chances of having even single merit are less when sounds like you're begging for it.
Learn everything and enjoy while you're here in the forum, once you're knowledgeable enough merit will come without knowing you, and ranking up your account isn't that hard for you.
423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argument: Can a digital currency sent to a wrong address be recovered ? on: June 06, 2023, 11:16:13 PM
Before I received a small amount of Bitcoin and I don't know where it come from or who is the sender, when I checked the transaction on a blockchain, I saw there are hundreds of addresses that receive a small amount too like me which I don't have an idea what it is.
The amount that I received I didn't return back.

In the same case by the OP, Bitcoin transactions don't contain identifiable information about the owner.  So, therefore, if you send Bitcoin to the wrong address, it's generally not feasible to determine the identity or location of the recipient which considering lost once you've mistakenly sent it to the wrong address.  Not unless the case of the transaction wasn't confirmed yet in the blockchain network which is you can cancel it by using RBF

Another gateway to keep abreast is to get connected as a member of an active crypto community or platform. Having membership of different communities is an added advantage but make sure  they are a genuine platform with a good history just like bitcointalk.
Not bad to join an online community, but be very careful and avoid scam.
OP was in the right place right now joining here in the forum and we know OP received a bunch of opinions from our fellow members.
But in a group like social media which Telegram group should OP avoid, there are a bunch of fraudulent happening there like pump and dump groups.

I rather advise stay away from investing in random altcoins, but instead, choosing Bitcoin alone.
Bitcoin has demonstrated resilience over time and has gained widespread recognition as a store of value and a potential hedge against inflation.  It has shown strong performance historically especially every time when there is ATH will come.  However, it's still important to keep in mind that no investment is entirely risk-free not unless Bitcoin sell when your profit was there but there's no specific time.
425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 12 years of a Legendary post on: June 05, 2023, 11:24:17 PM
I didnt go past the first page but its interesting to read those old comments and thoughts
from 12 years ago and the 3rd poster Garrett Burgwardt from that thread was on the forum today!
It seems the user you mentioned above was still active until now, do you think still the same person behind that account, if that is so that's great.
I quickly check his profile it seems got a negative tag.

That's the problem face of those Bitcoin enthusiasts before, while the world remained blind to its possibilities, but for them IMO, they saw the potential for financial sovereignty, borderless transactions, and a decentralized economy.   Even though other people remained doubtful they stayed strong, fully confident in their own ability to see what others couldn't, that's the real Bitcoin enthusiast and impressive foresight.
426  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin for HODL on: June 04, 2023, 11:39:49 PM
Not my keys, not my coins is an important advice. We need to be very safe to avoid getting hacked because coins stored on a centralized exchange are keys held by operators, not customers.
I appreciate a newbie thinking like this, before engaging and embracing the world of crypto should have research first and you're right, that's a golden rule here that everyone keeps reminding a newbie like you.

If you have a small fund you can afford to buy a hardware wallet much better and HODL it in the long run.
You can do it in a DCA way of purchasing Bitcoin, it's the potential to lower the average purchase price and since DCA involves buying more Bitcoin when prices are lower and less when prices are higher, it can potentially lower the average purchase price of your holdings over time.  This can be advantageous if Bitcoin's price appreciates in the long term.

So good luck!
427  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bustabit SCAM predator on: June 04, 2023, 11:28:16 PM
I made over 100 times deposits there and lost them all one by one
But recently i made a huge deposit and tried to Pre credit it over 5 times but didnt work so i needed to wait till the trasaction get confirmed on blockchain ,
Really?  100 times deposits and it's all gone?
It could be from the first deposit if you've lost them that should be a red flag for you to stop.
I don't know how pre-credit works but it seems like a borrowed amount that you can gamble but you can't withdraw, not unless you'll have a deposit, I'm right?
Deposit precredits
Don't want to wait for your deposit to be confirmed? Precredit it for a small fee and start playing immediately!

Not all deposits are eligible to be precredited and your precredited balance cannot be withdrawn, tipped or invested until your deposit confirms.

Quote
When i login the next day to see if my deposit got confirmed
THERE IS NO DEPOSIT AT ALL AS IT HAS BEEN DELETED FROM OWNER
send a ticket to solve it , and owner that there was not any deposit and the address of deposit has changed
He tries to fool me , but how can i be fooled when i made over 100 deposits and know how bitcoin work very well
Do you have a TXID of these, that's part of the evidence in your claim and we can also verify your claim.

HOW COME BITCOINTALK ALLOW A SCAM SITE TO OPERATE SINCE 2013 and stealing people every day !
We need to put a RED FLAG 🚩 ON Bustabit main thread  and take this site down
If you know this you wouldn't ask, this forum isn't moderated scam.
But if you have valid evidence, DT members or even you can create a flag against them and ask to support DT members.

Show us more evidence to convince us of the legitimacy of your claim.
428  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Hi Im trader over 12 years of experince here is my goal on: June 04, 2023, 11:01:18 PM
Im trader over 12 years of experince.
I like to challenge myself iwill use mainly moving average indicator.
My goal is to start with 7$ and in 15 days i'll turn this into 229376$
I'll post here results when i have done this my PNL from binance.

Then, go!  I'll salute you when you've successfully hit your target plan.
Because IMO, that's an ambitious goal you've set for yourself that I think unlikely will happen.

You might choose a suitable moving average period, in this experiment, in different periods for your moving average indicator to find one that suits the timeframe you've chosen.  It could be a shorter period may provide more frequent signals but could also be more susceptible to noise, while a longer period may provide more reliable but less frequent signals.
So that's it and good luck!
429  Other / Meta / Re: 2023 Ban appeal status on: June 04, 2023, 10:48:07 PM
Creating this kind of topic I'm seeing it as irrelevant, because your analysis can't make the ban user's to be free from their crime, for someone to be ban it's obvious that the user has disobey the rules and regulations of the community,
Why not?
At least it is easy for us to know those who've been banned and who have a banned appeal even though we know that there's a tiny chance of unbanning in plagiarism cases or it might be easy for admin to check the banned appeal list.  I don't even know who are they and how many of them.

@OP, I think the most important to know is the reputation status of the banned user you must include, that could be helpful.
I hope you keep up to date with your thread.
430  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Atomic Wallet compromised and not safe! on: June 03, 2023, 11:59:26 PM
Good thing you brought it up here, it posted the Wallet software section and I wished there it also bring it up here.

I saw comments that those who have been affected by the hack were those who updated to a new version and those who are not updated their application hadn't experienced the hack and their coins were still there.

We should use the open-source non-custodial wallet because not all custodial wallets are safe, those newbies who read this thread now might quickly import your atomic wallet seed phrase to a trusted open-source noncustodial wallet like Electrum.
431  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: A Non-Custodial wallet, Atomic Wallet, being compromised on: June 03, 2023, 11:25:10 PM
It's sad news, we thought that using a non-custodial wallet is safe, in fact, there's no really safe over the internet.
Just wanted to know now how much worth was being stolen by hackers, I saw comments on Twitter, other wallets are fine and some are drained out I start thinking now of what version of the wallet and what software they use.

I think should also be visible in the Beginners and Help section to warn newbies out there and start importing their wallets to those who are not yet affected.  Transferring their fund by importing the 12 words into other wallets like Electrum might be a good step or any wallets that support importing BIP39 seed phrases.
432  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for June on: June 01, 2023, 11:59:30 PM
So if sell in May then June = Moon?  Grin  What do you guys think?

Down before up! Was thinking this might already occur in May, a re-test of $25K or $23K, but clearly this is taking longer than expected. Hence I voted for sideways for this month.
I'm thinking the same way.
There might be a short correction that will occur this month of June, the same goes for last month's history, with price correction first right after there's a price increase.

This month could be a sideways pattern the same as the previous history.
But this is just personal speculation which is we know that the market can be influenced by sudden news events or changes in investor sentiment, making it challenging to accurately forecast short-term price movements.  So I encourage everyone to hold for a long period of time just like more than 6 months right after the next halving comes.
433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you support bitcoin as Global reserve currency? on: June 01, 2023, 11:28:05 PM
I will support gold more than bitcoin to be honest. Bitcoin is a very new currency and it has not matured enough to become a global reserve currency. The network is simply not capable of handling such volume. Gold is a much better choice as a reserve currency and it had also earlier used for similar reason.
There is nothing to deny your words. Because if we think Bitcoin as a reserve currency, there are certain issues that will not be accepted as a reserve currency until those issues are properly resolved. That's why I said it is a matter of time. I agree with the logic how much this network can support when the reserve currency has a lot of volume, it is also a matter of thought. Another thing is that If all the countries do not accept it then it is not possible to have bitcoin as a reserve currency? So it will not be possible to implement without the support of the government. However, the faith increased towards bitcoin by the current generation that is really appreciable. If they come forward, maybe solutions to these problems can be found very quickly.
I tend to agree with your conclusion.
IMO, the acceptance of Bitcoin as a global reserve currency would require widespread support and participation from governments worldwide.  But as we can see, not all governments supported Bitcoin just like in the US where there are a lot of regulation processes.  Cooperation and coordination among nations would be necessary to establish the necessary regulatory frameworks and address concerns related to financial stability, security, and compliance.

As per see, it's difficult to predict the future with certainty, but as of now, the challenges and limitations make it less likely for Bitcoin to become a global reserve currency, though we're crypto enthusiasts we know things that are possible will happen.
434  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If you need some menthor come to me on: May 31, 2023, 11:37:30 PM
People here looking for your credibility in teaching trading, your qualifications, and your expertise before accepting your offer.
I hope you understand this line.

It should be there's a track trading record or a good trading portfolio, and have you achieved consistent profits over a period of time?
Because IMO, mentorship should be a two-way relationship built on trust and also mutual respect before they will be accepting your offer, failing to present this may be a rejection to them.

If you're good at trading and make a profit on it, just focus and don't bother to teach others or be a mentor.
Trading is a competition between other traders.
435  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Best wallet for Android? on: May 31, 2023, 11:19:54 PM
Keep in mind that the Electrum wallet that is based on the app isn't good to use, some features on the PC version aren't applicable to the app and I think other people will prefer to use another mobile app than the Electrum.
But electrum PC version is also an app just like the mobile version. I don't know why you said electrum based on app isn't good to use. Maybe you are mixing up a few things. If I guessed right. You should be using a mobile app vs PC app comparison
It's bolded above and it's clear what I meant because we're talking a mobile app, however, apologize for your confusion.
It should be the desktop app and the mobile app so that readers understand it clearly because they aren't the same features and of course, when it comes to security.  I think I also used the wrong terminology, not a PC version.

Nunchuk is new to your ears and yet you go ahead to conclude how good it is as a multisig wallet? How did you know this if you never used the wallet before?
Based on the article that I dropped above, apologize, I forgot to include "might" in my post.
436  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chat GPT do a TA about bitcoin on: May 30, 2023, 11:58:54 PM
I tried before using AI tools and asked them especially related to financial matters, they always have disclaimers and didn't have clear explanations when it comes to predictions.  The most thing that I hated most is that they always said, is their data was based on 2021 and beyond.  So IMO, chatpgt is total waste of time relying on them but about TA on Bitcoin price.

But chatgpt predictions seem to be good.
I don't think so, I rather believe my own TA than them.
437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Best wallet for Android? on: May 30, 2023, 11:35:05 PM
Why would I switch to another wallet if I already got the security features we need on Electrum?
Keep in mind that the Electrum wallet that is based on the app isn't good to use, some features on the PC version aren't applicable to the app and I think other people will prefer to use another mobile app than the Electrum.

This Nunchuk wallet is new to my ears, I didn't even hear it before.
And based on this article,
Quote
Nunchuk’s mission is to make multisig the gold standard — no pun intended — for owning Bitcoin.
IMO, they are good as a multisig wallet.

Welcome here to the forum, everything that you wanted to know is here in this section.
Spend your precious time reading all pinned topics on each section and start here, because that is very important to know before you'll start here, those guidelines and regulations that most users know.  It seems like choosing a platform, we should always read the terms before using it to avoid violation in the future and that's the same on this forum.

Best of luck and see you around.
439  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the most significant trading sacrifice you believe you have made? on: May 30, 2023, 10:59:47 PM
If you have been full-time into trading for one to three years, what has been the greatest sacrifice you've made to become a successful trader? And did it pay off?
I didn't experience this because I didn't push my trading activity but instead, I'd go for investing for long-term purposes.
I didn't also see someone get successful in trading, usually, they've encountered many losses and difficulties in trading, and the reason no one gets successful.

Selling off assets like trucks, houses, or more worst land to fund trading can be a risky decision but may provide the necessary capital to start or expand a trading venture.  It shows a willingness to take calculated risks and prioritize trading over other endeavors.
That's the real sacrifice which I think is not good to hear.
440  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: why was Bitcoin written in C++? on: May 30, 2023, 10:46:04 PM
I think he chose C++ due to the speed and efficiency compared to other languages like Python and it was known that can handle big data.
The first thing that comes to my mind is what you've said above because C++ is known for its performance and efficiency when it comes to speed.  Another reason for choosing C++ could be because it was wide availability and a mature ecosystem, C++ has been around for several decades and has a vast community of developers supporting it.

And the last one could be, C++ allowed the Bitcoin developers to have direct access to the systems, enabling them to write code that interacts efficiently with the system resources.  Whatever the reason is, as long as it operates in a decentralized way and C++ was suitable for it.
