I am going to have a good laugh at all the little sheep that are going to be throwing their money at "Nasser G" and "Nick W" at "??address??" when BFL either disappears and/or goes bankrupt with all the sheep's money.

Hate to say it, but damn : ME TOO dude !

I am here for the entertainment, drama and the mining.

Hopefully BFL will go belly up and won't kill the latter just the fool's pockets.  Kiss

MPBM is the cgminer of the FPGA world.
No, that's BFGMiner.

Spare me the self promotion.

What is the difference between cgminer and BFGMiner ?

Maybe officially endorsed by BFL ( in the Mini Rig screenshots )  Cheesy

Anyone has any idea why Gigamining and other major mining bonds (Bitbond, Yabmc) just crashed on the GLBSE?
I am now buying, but maybe there is something I do not know?

Why wouldn't they crash ?

Asic release makes all fpga/gpu worthless
btc value rise to 6.5 and $10 soonish

+1

Yohan with all the bitching about CGminer wouldn't it make more sense to go with MPBM as it was designed for FPGA miners right from the start?
MPBM is GPL too...

I've never own a FPGA miner so never used MPBM, I suspect many people use cgminer for that reason too. As cgminer's feature set is impressive, I doubt much would be gained by switching to anything else (I'd welcome a feature set comparison to prove me wrong).

MPBM is the cgminer of the FPGA world.

cgminer is for GPUs and should stay that way.

Now every time he releases an update I have to download some bogus bitstream crap I will never ever use.

MPBM got backup pool, bitstream upload, switches MHz ( dynamic overclocking ) basically it rocks for FPGAs and cgminer is bogus for FPGA.

Just use MPBM !

You mean www.easic.com Huh

Someone really should invest into an open source design with those folks.

Show BFL punks who's boss.  Grin

My best guess is that trade in policy will only be unit for unit within a product category.
Meaning you can only trade in 1 "old" single for 1 "new" single, 1 "old" minirig for 1 "new" minirig. And jalapenos will be sold without any trade ins. This way they will still be getting $$$ flow with every sale or trade in. Mark my words Smiley

words marked.

It can be true. They said "full terms of tradein to be announced at a later date" = they can screw you hard if you are stupid and believe their marketing.

Sorry it looks like it actually is $89 which makes A LOT more sense.
http://service.prweb.com/pricing/
See some idiot above saying it took 499 LOL. Should have verified the info sorry !

Nope.  look at the url where the press release was found.  $89 gets you a static press release on prweb.com only.  For distribution to off site news feeds is more.

I am not so sure.

Is the open ASIC project going to be able to survive beside the described upcoming BFL ASIC hardware?

Nope. You must be pretty clueless.

No way a Altera Hardcopy can compete with a full custom pure ASIC that BFL are designing.

Anybody using http://www.easic.com/ Grin

WOW.

Better start changing your name to terravps

LOL. And remove the silly "FPGA Mining Addict" for "ASIC Mining Addict"

Is this a thread to prove that anyone can BS a PRweb?

Yep. This elden tyrell guy got big game.

He spent $500 just for this. Could have used that to buy 3 Jalapeno coffee warmers for 10.5 GHash/s in the future presumably.

Guy must be mad BFL ASIC screwed over his bitstream licensing plans.

Don't jump off the bridge mate ! There is still hope Cheesy
Why do you keep claiming he spent $500 on this?

Proof?

453  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is this proof BFL mines real coins during testing? on: June 16, 2012, 03:34:51 PM
WOW. They really are making a boat load of $$$ these dudes.

So far it looks like they made 440 BTC or 2800 USD off the rig just by testing Huh

15 000 000 / 362 utility = Looks like they mined for 30 days straight !!!

to be fair to them it is quite possible that they use the same login for all their testing?

I also thought about that but then if they had same account for all devices how would they see rejects and stuff from the pool side Huh

Anyway, it looks like they make quite a lot just mining by themselves. 14 million shares is not nothing.

Also, seems Inaba is in on this game. Easyminer comes with EMC pool installed, they use his pool for testing.

This looks very dodgy to me but what do I know.

Ftw......If this is legit, BFL is making no secret of their intent to screw their customers.

How are they screwing their customers when you get $ for $ trade in Huh

Maybe you meant competitors Wink
456  Bitcoin / Hardware / [Archive] BFL trolling museum on: June 16, 2012, 03:21:31 PM
WOW.

Tell me about it. I almost had a stroke when I woke up to such news and $6.5 !

Love the drama.

Will you be setting up a mining bond GIGAMINEZ for these ?
457  Bitcoin / Hardware / [Archive] BFL trolling museum on: June 16, 2012, 03:19:17 PM
This means I have to pay 20% import tax, wait until the MiniRig makes that back, then spend money sending it back, etc.

I feel like an idiot to be honest.
Send it back with RMA!!!
With that, you have not to pay import tax again ! Or i'm wrong?

Nice way to avoid import taxes. Now, what happens if you are caught like the criminal you are ?

Why?
You export hardware for 15'000$ under warranty to america and import in exchange new generation hardware for 15'000$ back.
Means...no tax.
If your exchance have an value of 30'000$, you have to pay for the difference.

Otherwise...bfl have to pay for all hardware that we send back to them import tax!!!!!
And this for sure, they will not do!!

I think he meant the first time when they ship you the current devices. No way to avoid 20% government cut AFAIK.

Of course for the exchange later you can fool them saying it is broken products.

Also, just buying bitcoins might be a better move. Imagine when the difficulty starts to double, quadruple, 10x, 20x.... Miner will have fewer bitcoins to sell. Supply starts to shrink. Demand stays relatively the same [or increases after anything like QE3]. Econ 101.

I hope you either flunked or have never taken Econ 101. If not, your instructor deserves a caning.

Yeah. Higher difficulty does not mean shit as it applies for EVERY miner.

Block reward halving may mean huge $10 price Cheesy ( at least that is what I am dreaming about )

If 3.5 Gh/s can be powered by USB, I think 1 Th/s will not be a issue here. By the way, what is max power for a USB port anyway?

The PR release doesn't say the power comes only from USB, just that it's USB powered. It could have another power input, for example a phone charger.

I presume that USB Powered means that can be powered just from USB port... JMHO.

Probably, but there's wiggle room there for when they end up decreasing the expected hashrate and increasing expected power use, like they did for the singles.

Hey, be fair. They actually increased the hashing for the current mini rig by 1000 mhash and decreased the power by 100w so i think they learned their lesson for now.
