An At-Cost Democratic Miner Co-operative with the world's lowest fees
for vetted miner hosting/management services:only $200 per month per miner!

~120 members: 1 Scientist, 7 admitted IT Pros, 3 Network Engineers, 3 Electrical Engineers, 2 Finance Employee, 6 GB Coordinators, multiple vetted host sites.*

*Note: A listing above does not necessarily indicate that this person runs or contributes to the running of the co-operative, but many of the pros listed have made their services available to the co-operative. Also, there could be more than 7 IT Pros, but some geeks are meek.  Cheesy

========================================================================================================================================

This Co-operative is led by a John K. vetted Network Engineer based in Hawaii, DyslexicZombei or DZ, who gets to design prototype IT hardware and lab/field networks in support of cutting edge research projects, and has been in the line of work of T&E and R&D for nearly 10 years, with 50-60 Hawaii/US Aerospace/IT/R&D/Civ. Engineering Endorsements on LinkedIn. The other remote administrators are jungle_dave who is a former Electrical Engineer and Network Engineer and -Redacted- a UNIX guru and veteran miner. Our local/remote admin is bobsag3, who is also an IT veteran. There are 5 leaders in the DZ MC, with thomas_s and I doing the actual running of the Cooperative.

Mining Equipment will be operated by vetted IT pros or a vetted IT college student, with backup host sites available. Payouts are on the 1st and 15th of the month minus a $100 host/management fee, the lowest around.

Once sales begin, Refunds are available up until unit ships at 1.5% restock fee. We vote on all buying, shipping, and resale decisions as well as vote on the month to attempt equipment resales after 5-7 months of operations.

Vetted GB Coordinators are encouraged to team up to increase buying power and close out Group Buys quicker. All suggestions are welcome to help improve our Co-operative.

Also, with all this talk about the Round selling out too fast, I forgot to mention that this Round has set a new forum record as far as selling out an Industrial Class rig.

The previous record was a 12 hour sellout of a $12K HF Sierra that Thomas & I held. I'd have to check records with Thomas but it appears that R16A and R16B has sold out in 6-7 hours!

Congrats Thomas and bobsag3!

While I sympathize as I have shares spread across multiple GBs, if someone has the money it's their perogative.  I would have bought more in R16, but oh well.
Oh oh, don't get me wrong, I am not a communist trying to say what people can do with their money Cheesy He could just buy Jupiter out right and get it delivered and manage, etc. himself. He may or may not be successful, because it's apparent that getting it ACTUALLY done is NOT EASY due to many factors. GB is an EASY way of getting into this game.

As I read the "About Us" on dzminercoop website, the idea was to put bitcoin mining equipment in the hands of many at or below cost. These guys are crazy (in a good way). With one person buying majority of shares, this becomes moot. Schwede65 can hire them to manage their money, but that would be a different idea as compared to the stated goals of the cooperative. Schwede65 did absolutely nothing wrong. The question is what DZ and thomas_s and the rest of the guys in this endeavor want to do.

Yes, keeping an ASIC rig up and running, is not as simple as it sounds, as we all saw/heard from the R9-13 Black Arrow Bullet Run we hosted. We started this co-op to not only make it affordable but also easy for the non-technically inclined or for those that don't want to deal with: the noise, cooling and power requirements, and troubleshooting that miners *will* require sooner rather than later.

Yes, we're a bit crazy offering the prices we do but this co-op was founded of the concept of giving as many people as possible, access to Institutional Pricing.

I hear your concerns about too much voting power residing with one buyer. FWIW: I control about a quarter of R1, a Baby Jet, and Thomas owns half of R3, a Sierra.

We could possibly set up something like this but to be honest: with the tools we have at the moment, it would have to be a gentleman's agreement, because even with IP tracking: which could easily be defeated by using a proxy or a different internet access point, and order tracking: which would be defeated by just entering fake data and a different wallet address, it still may not fix the issue. In other words: this is not a simple or easy thing to try to implement for an "amateur" co-operative.

Going forward: I'll discuss a 33% hard cap on a mining rig for any one co-op member in one Round. I can't promise anything, and we determine things together, but I will bring this up at our next board meeting, which is likely tomorrow as I'm meeting a forum/co-op member this afternoon for Kauai's first Bitcoin meetup (all 2 of us).  Cheesy

We ran out of Jupiter hashrate for y'all, so we secured a couple of more for you.  Smiley

Also: it appears that besides KnC November orders (which sold out), it looks like deliverable hashrate is going to be slim pickings until the next major player enters the market.

Just sayin... Cheesy

Additional update on yesterday's pause, and a little more about the team:

I'm in constant communication with Robocoin when discussing our internal plans and operations, regarding their company and their product. This Service is paused by request of Jordan Kelley, Robocoin's CEO, as he personally contacted me to request the pause while we await much better legal clarification; this is the only reason why it's currently paused.

We already have a successful Bitcoin business called "Dyslexic Zombei's Miners Cooperative." We sell at-cost GB shares and we are the #1 Miners Cooperative (by a long shot) on the Group Buys Forum, with over 120 members and 6 Group Buy Coordinators. While we've done over $200K in sales (and refunds) it doesn't earn much money/BTC at this point, but that was not the intention of starting it. The intention of starting the co-op was to provide a scam free sales outlet that allowed the "little guys" access to true Institutional Pricing to the most expensive miners on the market (which have the best value propositions).

We've succeeded in this goal and continue to succeed with offering many of the world's best deals on ASIC hardware.

This "amateur" co-op is our launch pad for a number of other pro Bitcoin businesses I'm currently involved with helping to launch, teaming up with investors and DZ MC leaders/members across the country and planet. Our core team consists of 5 company founders with backgrounds in IT, Sales, and Finance, an oil VP and contracts expert, a Forex expert, a handful of private investors, and a number of board directors.

These Group Buys have allowed us to grow and mesh as a team, as well as learn to deal with crises together. With the oil output of two Texas wells and a partnership with Balanced Energy LLC of Texas, I daresay that for people that have met up through these forums, we are the most powerful union of miners/investors this forum has seen so far.

Our business plan for the Robocoin BTC ATMs is listed in the details of this thread. It's simple and straightforward: you buy a Bitcoin ATM or a few through our company, and we do our best to give you hands off and hassle free ownership of said BTC ATM for as long as you'll have us as your ATM Service company.

And apparently already "paused"?

Anyway, see here.

Thank you! That's a nice link there. TBH, if I followed every one of those guidelines I wouldn't be here today offering this forum this new Bitcoin ATM service (then again: I readily admit to being an occasional "bull in a china shop.").

Hey everyone.

Sorry for the confusion. When I had left for work I thought we had the 3rd and 4th ones secured. Took a super long afternoon nap and am back to work.

Please keep an eye out though for a R16 as there's usually something cooking in this co-op and among all the contacts I have (will get to your PM(s) in a minute Dabs. Hope everything is well for you buddy, and that your area wasn't hit too badly by the storm).

I received word that we need to pause this temporarily.

Jordan, the CEO from Robocoin, says that they are in the process of sorting out some final legal questions and should have some info on this shortly.

He says that the answers forthcoming shortly should provide *a lot* of clarity as to their operations strategy. We also discussed the first five launch markets that we were aiming for.

So: Please continue to send me your PMs with your interest in this private venture, but please be aware that we are officially and temporarily PAUSED.

Hi guys/gals,

Stopping by before I head to work/work to get things done with my lab's network without co-workers bugging me.

I love it when I go to sleep with something like 23 shares confirmed, wake up the next day, and we're sold out. Smiley

Due to overwhelming demand: 2 more KnC Jupiters for R15C and R15D have been added thanks to GG bobsag3!

Also, re: Scrypt

We have been looking at Scrypt based mining as a means of diversifying our Miners Co-op, and promoting 3 coin arbitrage for one of our pro arms of the DZ MC.

If you know of anything promising, please send a Co-op leader (such as bobsag3, -Redacted-, or Thomas_s.) your info.

As someone who was in the original R14 buy, this is exciting! Could you go into a little more detail about what someone who doesn't have enough money to buy an individual ATM? I'm mainly concerned about the legalities of two things:

1) Can these ATM's now be installed in the US?
2) What are the legal requirements for those who are participating in a group buy? I'm assuming reporting all profits?

Thanks!

Hey floatyfish,

Thanks for the feedback!

1) Yes, they can be installed in the US, but it's still a patchwork of messy laws, and we can't do a GB-type offering for this at this time. We are also steering clear of a US launch at this early stage for our startup. I am not aware of any company or group doing a wider US launch at this time.

2) This is not a public group buy. We are assisting ATM buyers to procure and secure Operations servicing for said ATM(s). We are also buying ATMs with our own internal, private funds.

I cannot publicly solicit for shares or securities. However, as co-op members in a private entity, if you're an existing co-op member or an R14 buyer you can send me a PM to privately discuss your situation and the options that are available to you.

Also: we recommend that all relevant taxes will and should be paid from this venture. The company founders frown on companies that exploit loopholes to get unfair tax rates which unfairly burdens their host country or countries. We can also help you set up tax payments which will be automatically deducted from the gross revenue, in order to help keep you in compliance.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for being patient thru the manual refund process.

Unlocking this topic and updating this thread in case you're wondering what became of our ATM management offering: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=330662.0

For legal reasons we had to retool it as a Services offering. Unfortunately, you or a group will need to buy a Bitcoin ATM or ATMs outright to take advantage of our new Service.

If you (or your group) do proceed, you own the Bitcoin ATM(s) forever, which is much better than our modified terms of 3 years from R14x, Ver. 1.0. In fact, you can even replace us as your Services company, if you'd like.

We're still planning to launch in those first 5 locations we listed (except #1 will be Berlin). What's different about this retooled rollout is that as customers contact us, this will modify our rollout plans based on actual demand.

Also, we're buying ATMs from Robocoin with internal funds and customer funds before the 18th; it's just a matter of how many we're buying.

P.S. If you're already a co-op member who was keen on R14x and you don't have the funds for an entire ATM, please send me a PM to discuss your situation.

We've retooled and relaunched after lots of legal counsel as an ATM services company.

457  Economy / Services / Re: Pro Robocoin ATM Operating Services - available Internationally! on: November 11, 2013, 06:30:27 PM
Can you tell me clearly how does this system work worldwide ?

Hi Eternity,

Sure, no problem.

1. You or a group of your friends/family/investors contact us to buy and install an ATM in your country.

2. We first point you in the direction of legal counsel, a variety of the same business and contracts legal experts, which we contacted while doing our due diligence. They may be able to advise you as to the legality of opening a Bitcoin ATM in the country or region of your choice.

3. If legal counsel comes back as OK on the country/region of your choice, a service contract will be offered to you.

4. Your funds are sent for the procurement of ATM(s) on your behalf to our company Crypto ATM LLC. These funds will be then sent to Robocoin Technologies to enter your order. Partner law firms will be able to guide you through the legal minefield and help you with necessary permits and licenses, to help keep you out of legal trouble.

5. We purchase the ATM for you and handle all of the shipping, ordering, stocking, restocking, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades, and monthly payouts of net revenues (Owner(s) retain 80% of monthly net revenue).

6. After 3 years, you can even hire a new services company or choose to renew with us (an Early Termination fee applies for canceling the service contract prior to 3 years).

I cannot talk about ROI, you will need to do your own due diligence. I can point out that the Vancouver ATM did $100,000 of gross sales in one week, on average of $12,500 per day, in a city of about 600,000 residents and a number of tourists. You or your group own the ATM in perpetuity. We simply service it for you.

We can also arbitrage it for you if you'd like to sell it for a newer model in 5-10 years, as we're hardware arbitrage experts as well.

These ATMs sell for $20,000. Please budget for additional costs (that may not all need to be raised immediately) that include but are not limited to: legal counsel, permits, licenses, business registration, shipping costs, and a cash and BTC bank for your ATM(s).

This total price to become operational for you or your group could be $30-40K (or more) depending on your location. This per unit cost goes down as the number of ATMs you launch increase. The term:

458  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] RoboCoin ATM US Launch Pending on: November 11, 2013, 06:24:31 PM
Hey guys/gals,

Updating this thread as this is Bitcoin related Custom Hardware, albeit hardware that allows one to buy/sell BTC instead of mining them.

No, we're no longer launching in the US (as the federal and state laws are too murky; even the states can't agree on what the definition of money is) or even Internationally, in the manner in which we had originally intended. We had to refund those that were interested in a US operated GB due to this high risk (and the fact that as American citizens the principals involved are subject to stricter financial laws).

However, thanks to the success of our diverse Miners Cooperative which has attracted private investors and oil VPs, we will be doing a smaller internal launch with private funds. With the output of two Texas oil wells from a company called Balanced Energy LLC being allocated to the new pro arm of the DZ Miners Cooperative: which includes the sub-company Crypto ATM LLC, we are well poised to create a powerful network within the greater Robocoin Operator Network.

We've re-tooled our ATM management offering so that it's simply a service, with a simple fee split. This offering should be compliant with US laws at this time, but we're still only installing ATMs internationally, at the moment.

If you're someone that is willing to either buy a(n) ATM(s) or is willing to pool funds among friends/family to buy your own ATM(s) in a legally welcoming country, we offer you a simple POS and contact to make it easy for you and to help guide you through your part of the process.

For the moment: our company has been given permission by Jordan Kelley, the CEO of Robocoin to install ATMs that we service anywhere in the world where they will be welcome.

Please visit the Services forum for more info: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=330662.0

Cheers!
