http://futuristrendcast.wordpress.com/2014/09/16/predictions-the-real-reasons-for-wests-anti-russian-sanctions/

Many are scratching their heads why these non-sensical sanctions are being implemented now. Instead of encouraging the peace process in Ukraine, they are bound to discourage it.

How is sanctioning Russia going to discourage peace in Ukraine? Russia is not Ukraine!

It is also being pointed out that the Kiev regime is using the ceasefire in order to regroup, build-up defenses in strategic points, and to bring fresh troops in order to restart the offensive against Donetsk and Lugansk this fall.

But Russia and Novorussia were the ones who asked for it? And it has been pointed out that Russia is using the ceasefire to bring in more military support to the Donetsk and Lugansk junta too.

Meanwhile, NATO is conducting joint NATO-Kiev exercises in western (pro-ukronazi) Ukraine. These have already been dubbed a “provocation.” However, I think the reason is deeper: these exercises are done to camouflage the transfer to Kiev of the Western military technology, munitions, specialists and money.

The actual reason is this:

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that in a couple of days he might commission the Russian troops not only in Ukraine but also in Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Romania, Ukrainian news edition Liga reported, citing a publication of German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung.

Secession, not succession.

Also, unless "the powers that be" told Ukraine's president to become a dictatorial dickhead, they had nothing to do with what happened there. I had friends in high places there, and no one was paid to protest, or to stay and keep protesting when they were told doing so is going to land them 15 years in jail.

Learn from the first person who ever communicated with Satoshi in a public forum.

Who cares if he was the first. Frankly, I would ask for proof, but it would be meaningless unless I thought Satoshi was some sort of an infallible saint.

"Presumably this phone call was tapped by the Russian KGB"  Ah! Proof it's a lie.

Sounds like this guy was stupid enough to fall for Russian propaganda. Which is understandable, since Russians have had over 100 years of practice. That, and he apparently doesn't know Russian history, or understands what is actually going on on the ground in Ukraine, with massive natural gas deposits that can threaten Russia's monopoly on gas, Russia's concern about neighboring countries joining NATO (it doesn't want military bases near its borders) and it disrupting such nations to prevent them from being able to join, and Russia's typical take-over tactic of other countries using claims of "anti-russian discrimination" and thugs that start protests.

Have your friend read this. Maybe he'll understand things a bit better: http://ukraine.popo.lt/2014/09/13/that-old-familiar-pattern-russian-invasion-of-ukraine/

Still works for me... Based on the discussion it sounds as dead as Bitcoin was dead when transaction malleability, or any other bug, was found.

445  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sanction against Russia for West-choreographed conflict in Ukraine on: September 18, 2014, 02:55:56 PM
Yeah, that's true... Just like the only reason Japan gave up was because they were worried that USSR would invade them from the other side, and only used the nuclear bomb attack as an excuse for why they are giving up. They recognized (correctly) that USA is the MUCH lesser of the two evils to be invaded by.

Billions of dollars worth of gas, and being able to continue to be a government-owned monopoly with the only source of gas for Europe? (You know, communist stuff)

Billions of dollars of gas from where? From the farting neo-Nazis of the Right Sector?

Either that, or all the crap that's been coming out of Russia and its supporter's mouths Cheesy

But, seriously, "Ukraine has an estimated 42 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of technically recoverable shale gas reserves" (http://consortiumnews.com/2014/04/24/beneath-the-ukraine-crisis-shale-gas/). At an average of $10 per 1000 cubic feet, that's about $420 billion worth.

As far as I know, Ukraine imports almost 100% of its gas from Russia (Gazprom). Many of the heavy industries in Ukraine are heavily dependent on the Russian gas.

Yes, that's because this gas was discovered just recently, and Ukraine was only planning to start mining it. "On Nov. 5, 2013 (just a few weeks before the Maidan demonstrations began in Kiev), Chevron signed a 50-year agreement with the Ukrainian government to develop oil and gas in Ukraine." But then Russia decided that wasn't a good idea, and invaded with one of the reasons being to protect their own gas interests. Under the tried and true guise of "our people are being discriminated against in that country we have nothing to do with!"

RUSSIA & CHINA SANCTION THE AMERICAN DOLLAR: To THe Garbage!!!

After Russia, China joins its ally in dumping the dollar

Beijing is keen on substituting the US dollar with the yuan in all of China’s trade with other countries

Yay! Go Bitcoin! And go Ukraine for doing so much to adopt bitcoin!

(You're not posting this as "bad news" for us, are you? Cause we think this is great!)

This combat footage was retreived from the helmet-mounted camera of one of the Ukrainian 'Azov' batallion members killed in fight with rebels near Yasinovataya. English language can be clearly heard, indicating presence of foreign mercenaries:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TG_oX-TtXRM

There has been lots of news about Azov, being an independent all volunteer ultra-nationalist group (which keeps claiming they are not racist or antisemite), attracting neo-Nazi followers/volunteers from places like Belgium, and even Sweden. English would be a common "international" language for them to use. So this isn't really surprising.
450  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: September 17, 2014, 03:50:40 AM
The Ukraine crisis is actually believed by many as a last-ditch attempt of the US to hold back the major EU economies to its camp to save the dollar.

Meanwhile, sane people believe the Ukraine crisis was because people were pissed off at their Russian puppet president stealing billions of dollars from their country and trying to give himself dictatorial powers, and then Russia seeing an opportunity to invade while the government was in chaos to try to grab those massive natural gas fields in the east, and to expand its territory a bit. But, yeah, it must all be US just trying to save itself  Roll Eyes

Meanwhile In Ukraine, The Parliament Is Being Stormed, Again

Yesterday, in the aftermath of the popular anger aimed at Ukraine's president Porohsneko following his "Bohnering" on Ukraine's demands for a free trade agreement with Europe, we said the new president's days are likely numbered. Less than 24 hours later, this has started to play out, and as the live feeds below show, the Kiev parliament is being stormed by what appears to be discontent from the right wing "Right Sector" political group...

Oh noes! Ukrainian government is controlled by Nazis!

Oh noes! Ukrainian government pissed off Nazis by refusing their demands!

Please please PLEASE get your lies straight, guys! It's weird hearing two completely opposite stories from you.

Well, we call it a de-dollarized world... that's the world feared by the US because a world not using the dollar means all the dollars it printed to pretend rich have nowhere else to go but return to the US... What will it do with the tidal wave of unwanted dollars when it is already drowning with $220 trilion of debts?

Just watch... the World Without Dollars SHOW is just starting...

Anyone else find it funny and amusing about how myshownow is trying to scare us with his tales of the falling, soon to be destroyed, dollar, on a forum FULL  of people who want to see the Federal Reserve disbanded, and the dollar collapsed and replaced by bitcoin?

Please myshownow, tell us more about how the dollar is about to die  Cheesy

Um... Use them to pay off the $220 trillion debt?  Cheesy

Actually, they don't print money like what the America Fed does, because russian ruble is already down 30% this year! They have enough inflation without printing any more money.

Get you facts straight, man! <racist blah blah blah>, but you could at lest look at the statistics. The US dollar is now only a few percent higher than it was in 2009.

You're right, I don't know where I got 30% from. It's actually 14.2% (from 32.855 to 38.328 RUB/USD http://www.investing.com/currencies/usd-rub-historical-data) I think I was looking at some other currency (Argentina) for a different topic, and the percent stuck in my head.

And wow! If the dollar went down so much, and the ruble went down even more against the dollar, that's twice as bad!

It's kinda funny, when Arabs had their Arab Spring, they were fighting for democracy, independence, and the chance to break off into their own separao countries. When Russians have a Russian Spring, they are fighting to get their countries merged into a giant single dictatorship. In Soviet Russia, dictator "springs" you  Grin

Maybe some day you will be able to explain what those US bases and invasions have to do with Russia invading countries and Ukraine?

The difference is that the Americans have invaded dozens of nations, for their natural resources (especially crude oil and natural gas). But apart from the Kiev propaganda, there is no proof that Russia has ever invaded another nation ever since it became independent in 1991.

OK, so there is a "difference" between Russian and US invasions... But what do US invasions, that are different, have to do with Russia invading other countries and Ukraine? Did Russia decide that, although this is a bad thing, since US does it, it's OK?

Even if the Russians invade Ukraine, what will they gain?

Billions of dollars worth of gas, and being able to continue to be a government-owned monopoly with the only source of gas for Europe? (You know, communist stuff)

$11 per pound, or about $5 per kilo at my local grocery

That doesn't make sense as a pound is half a kg.

Sorry, backwards math. $23 per kilo.

1120 happy unemployed Russians who might had a chance and 280 who will go unemployed. Smiley. I bet they all shout "heil putin" in the morning.

Problem is, these people had nothing to do with Putin's actions, and aren't really responsible. So they lose their jobs while Putin keeps the $150 billion he stole. And this harm coming from outside has a chance of making them feel attacked by and start heating outsiders, as much as them hating Putin for putting their country in that situation.

All the media are under government's control in Russia.
Yeah sure, that's the reason why a half of federal TV channels and newspapers is privately owned.

But what about the privately owned media in the west? Guess how many federal TV channels and newspapers in USA are privately owned?
I don't care. You guys are pretending to say that private ownership is a guarantee of impartiality, so let it be. Grin

We aren't the one saying that. You are the ones who said "HALF of our media is private, so they're impartial."
