All wars are bankers wars. IMF loans will hand Ukraine over to private banks.

Paul Craig Roberts: IMF loans will hand Ukraine over to private banks

http://rt.com/shows/boom-bust/ukraine-us-private-banks-005/

Bankers know how to create wealth. If they take over the country and change it to make it create wealth, that would be a good thing for everyone living there (except for those living off of other's work and wealth).

If these IMF loans have the same conditions as they usually do, this may be a HUGE positive for Ukraine. Specifically, IMF requires things like major cuts in government spending, reduction in social programs, getting rid of tarrifs and restrictions on imports, privatizing public industries, opening up to foreign investment, restrictions on inflating national currencies, etc. Very pro free market types of things (that bitcoiners support). Ukraine got to where it is in part because it never fully let go of the soviet style socialist economy. Hopefully this will finally force them to change and improve.
For a good example of what IMF conditions do, check out the results of IMF loans and conditions in Iceland. Not only has their economy recovered enormously, they were even immune to the post 2008 aftershocks that affected, and continue to affect, the rest of Europe.

Desu ka (ですか), or more specifically the ka, is a part you add at the end of a sentence to denote it as a question in Japanese, desu ka. Did you notice how that previous sentence was a question, despite it not seeming to be? Aren't Japanese weird? Cheesy

Still complaining about the Russian involvement? NATO reports that more than two-thirds of Russia’s troops have now pulled back from the Ukrainian border zone.  Grin

Russia has withdrawn most troops from Ukraine border, Hagel says

Russian involvement is not the troops on Russian side of the border. It's the troops in Crimea, the troops in Ukraine, and the massive propaganda and chaos campaigns going on in eastern Ukraine. That pulling back the troops is a bullshit distraction compared to the damage they have already done and are continuing to do. It's like if I were to stab you with a knife, but then claim that I was no longer involved because I pulled out the knife.

Moscow Surprised by Kiev’s Move to Reject Russian Humanitarian Aid

Why would they be surprised? Russia invaded and annexed a huge part of their country, spread massive amounts of propaganda to scare Eastern Ukrainians about Ukraine becoming fascist, is likely entirely responsible for starting the civil war in that part of the country, has sent multiple spies, instigators, and saboteurs into Ukraine, was caught for paying people to start chaos, and even tried to sabotage the elections by infecting the election systems with a virus that would have made the Right Sector party win, which Russian propaganda has been saying had huge support in the country, despite them only having less than 2% support. Ukraine blames Russia for the entire situation happening now (don't forget, this isn't the first time Ukraine had a revolution that kicked out their ruling party, but it's the first time it resulted in such a war). Why would they trust Russia with anything else?

This is the 3rd chopper being downed by the self-defence forces in Slavyansk. The Kiev junta is using Choppers to extensively bomb the civilian targets in the Donetsk Oblast.

What is this "self-defense" force, which by the way is a tiny percent of the overall population in that region, fighting for? Do they want to force everyone in the region to join Russia, whether the people living there want to or not? Are they fighting to establish an independent country? Do they not like police and want to do whatever they want? Do they just not like Ukrainian government (in which case, why didn't they vote to show they wanted someone else?)

Former Georgian minister and businessman Kaha Bendukidze is appointed as presidential advisor in Ukraine:
http://lenta.ru/news/2014/05/28/advisor/

Quote from Wikipedia:
"Bendukidze does not belong to Putin's circle of friends and he understood sooner than everyone else that everything would be taken away from him..."
"He is known as a committed libertarian[1] and strong supporter of market economy, deregulation and privatization"

Sounds like a great choice! Maybe with him Ukraine will finally start moving away from Russian-style socialism, towards a more open and wealthier market economy.

I agree only with one word there. It'll surely be wealthier, for the ones closest to the top.

Are you a left-wing socialist/communist?

If yes, I have some really bad news for you that involves Bitcoin...
827  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Meanwhile in Ukraine... Revolution. on: May 31, 2014, 01:16:36 AM
What I don't understand is, why are you morons so up in arms over a "democratically elected" president being deposed for trying to become a dictator
I'm sorry but the only "moron" is in your mirror, because only a moron would believe in something like that. Who told you this nonsense, CNN or FoxNews?

This was told to me by the people who were protesting on Maidan, when they told me why they were protesting, when I actually talked to them. Not some biased media.

Don't be naive, do you really believe that police is unable to disperse such demonstration? If he wanted to become a dictator, he would have got it. If you believe that special forces were unable to resolve this type of problem, then you have never seen this guys in action. Less than 15 minutes would be required to resolve these "protests" by force.

That would not have worked, since doing that would have instantly lost all support for him in the whole country. Dictators can only stay in power if enough people support or are afraid of them. Don't forget, everyone protesting on Maidan was made to be criminals with a sentence of many years in prison if they got arrested. But the people showed that they were not afraid by not leaving. So wannabe dictator realized he did not have as much power as he hoped.

He even wouldn't need to use an armed forces for that, just give the "Berkut" an order to use batons, and it's done...

He did give Berkut an order to use batons. There were many clashes that involved baton uses, except the protesters fought back. Why do you think the burning tire barricades were set up in the first place? It was to keep Berkut with batons away. As I said, you're morons. That, or worse, you are trying to rewrite history and spread lies and propaganda on purpose.

I see typical pattern here:

1. Your gf have dropped you? / Your salary is not enough to cover the bills? / Your neighbor is a fool? / whatever
2. Blame it on russians.
3. PROFIT.

Actually, it's:
1. Russia attacks and invades Ukraine on multiple occasions throughout history.
2. Russia, despite being established by Mongols and the Golden Horde, lies by rewriting history to make it seem as if Ukraine, which had nothing to do with Russia, was always a part of Russia.
3. Russia invades Ukraine as it established the Soviet Union, and subjects Ukraine to mass pogroms, starvation, and economic devastation.
4. Soviet Russians assassinate my great-grandparents for being enemies of the state (royals), despite them not having any actual power over anyone.
5. Soviet Russians pursue by grandparents, and parents, by putting them on KGB blacklists, spying on them, tapping their phones, and on a few occasions attempting to arrest them and send them to gulags in Siberia or fatal cleanup duty in Chernobyl, with them surviving only by running and hiding when they can.
6. Russian politicians are still ex-KGB types that are pro communist, and seem to want to bring back "the glory days of the Soviet empire." Except now they are even joined by the very powerful Orthodox Church, so not only is their government trying to get back to bring a communist dictatorship, they are trying to be extremely religiously "moral" too, hoping to make even more speech and ideas illegal.

So, sorry if I have no love or trust for the Russian government after it has been fucking with Ukraine and my personal family history for over a century, and seems to want to continue to do that to other people.

By the way, Canadians with their eh aren't the only ones with a word you can stick at the end of sentences to make them sound like questions desu ka.

What does "desu ka" mean?

It's Japanese? Can't you Google?

I am sure there are some savvy financial advisors that do understand Bitcoin. Indeed, they _should_ be able to understand better than I the benefits and tradeoffs thereof. But I've not met them.

Well, it's nice to meet you!

Why is English such a fucked up language, and at the same time so much easier to learn that most other languages?

Eh, that it is but you should try Russian or Hungarian sometime to learn about diffuculty; I did and should you also not?

Wait, you didn't know that I fluently speak many languages, and that Russian is one of them???

do you like russian dressing on your sandwiches?

Did you know that Russians don't even have salad dressing, besides just oil, and that none of us who came to USA knew about such things, and especially so-called Russian dressing, until we saw it in US and Europe?
833  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: announcement: the international "when-bitcoin-reaches 1000,- $ party" on: May 29, 2014, 09:34:54 PM
New idea. There should be a working session the day before the party. I'm sure there are a number of valuable business topics that the world's more affluent bit coiners should be discussing.

One track could be wealth management. One would think there are multiple wealth advisors that would jump at the chance to address such a well-heeled audience.

What makes you think there aren't wealth advisors who aren't affluent bitcoiners themselves?  Wink

Burning food resource to serve as energy isn't really a good idea.

Hence why biofuel researchers  likes to focus on non food source plants as their candidates (e.g. switchgrass, energy cane ,black locust ,willow etc).

All of it is still taking matter from one location, applying the sun to it, and dispersing it in another location as you withdraw energy. So, if it won't be Big Oil, it'll be Big Fertilizer, or Big Algae, or whatever. It's great to strive for more efficiency, just don't think that growing our fuel will somehow give us unlimited free energy without any oligarchs Tongue

New US law states anyone considered an enemy of the state can be legally targeted and neutralized anywhere in the world WITHOUT due process or even charges levied against them. This applies to even US citizens.

Why is the bold part relevant to Roger Ver?

This is probably going to get me in trouble, but please keep us *cough* I mean the Illuminati out of this. We, I mean they, have nothing to do with that craziness and are doing their own thing, which is generally the opposite of trying to control people Tongue They're not terrorists. At least it's not "the people" they are interested in terrorizing. And while some of us may be a little bit inbred, not by choice but simply due to having royal lineage and related history ( Undecided ) you don't have to rub it in

So you deny trying to control and subvert the USA? Why not? Everyone else is trying it!

because the Illuminati is a group of antiauthoritarian, antireligous, pro-equality anarchists? It would be kinda like asking bitcoin supporters to go into Wall Street banking and support that system.

Good. Maybe that will finally force some change in that government.

What I don't understand is, why are you morons so up in arms over a "democratically elected" president being deposed for trying to become a dictator, and then are so alarmed about the possibility of a right wing fascist government coming to power, but are completely ignoring the actual dictator-in-all-but-name FASCIST in the cuntry just to the east of Ukraine? Worse, you are actually supporting his news and his propaganda! I have no idea what political views you guys have, but if I had to guess, it'd be pro-totalitarian statists. Not libertarian/anarchist that the majority of bitcoin supporters are.
839  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Meanwhile in Ukraine... Revolution. on: May 28, 2014, 07:49:10 PM
OK... now we have the first confirmed foreign interference in Ukraine.

I'm pretty sure Russian invasion of Crimea was the first confirmed foreign interference in Ukraine. Russia trying to sabotage the election with a computer virus that would have made Right Sector Yarosha win with 37%, and then not realizing that the virus was discovered and running this news report claiming that he won https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3ltHXUkkG4 was another. Point is there was a ton of foreign interference in Ukraine from Russia way before anyone else got there.

Poroshenko asked to have some time to think before signing of association agreement with EU:
http://top.rbc.ru/politics/28/05/2014/926930.shtml

"Have some time to think" can be interpreted as "postpone". Wasn't it one of the reasons why Yanukovich was displaced in the first place..?

Yatsenjuk asks Putin to close Russian-Ukrainian border "to prevent entry of Russian soldiers on Ukrainian territory":
http://www.gazeta.ru/politics/news/2014/05/28/n_6189961.shtml

Yeah, but Yanukovich said "No." while Poroshenko said "We have to take care of the civil war situation first, before we can divert our attention to more international matters." Which, you know, makes sense.
