441  Economy / Services / Re: Best Poker and Bingo - Playtodos.com Signature Campaign on: October 05, 2015, 04:47:39 AM
Is this campaign done or not? why doesn't it clearly say so in the OP? It's not clear at all from what I've read, if last week was the last term, or current week is the last term.. I don't get it.
Edit: Ive checked the google spreadsheet, next payment is 5th, so the current term is going. My question is, is it going to continue after October 5th?

As I understand from the discussion on the overview campaign thread, next payment (Oct 5th) will be the last payment. Not really sure yet, but I think Carra will tell you all sooner/later before this current term.

This is not accurate.

Carra sent a message to all in the campaign that this period's payment will occur on Oct. 4th and with that payment will be an announcement about the future of this campaign.

There has been no official word that that is campaign is closing - please do not spread inaccurate rumors (especially when you get paid per post!)

I did not try to spread any inaccurate rumors, I just say what I think and I've already said "not really sure and wait for Carra"
My opinion is based on some reasons :
1. Discussion on the overview thread (playtodos has been removed)
2. Playtodos official gambling thread is locked

But if my opinion is wrong, so I apologize..

Cheers man, no hard feelings. I didn't mean anything personal, and clearly Carra has now settled it for us. The campaign is ending. I was hoping this great thing wouldn't end!

443  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: KeepKey Wallet - anyone using this? on: October 04, 2015, 02:29:47 PM
Thanks for letting me know about it, this looks awesome and i'll definitely be getting one for myself.

Preen, glad I could help you and others become aware of this new option. Be sure to do some research on all the wallet options available this KeepKey may be great but there are several competing options. When it comes to your cold hard bitcoin, you deserve the wallet that serves your needs the best!
444  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: KeepKey Wallet - anyone using this? on: October 04, 2015, 02:26:58 PM
Price seems cheap and also the design with touchscreen feature is amazing in the screenshot. They are new and i don't think anybody have got a copy of it till now. I have checked on their website and found warranty of 1 year, which is also nice for that price. But i doubt it will be easy to get warranty on online purchased items.

From my side, price seems reasonable and warranty shows their confidence on product.

You just said you think it would be hard to get the warranty honored, why does this bode as a positive or show a sign of their "confidence on product"? According to you it doesn't!

I think $240 is expensive, but it is priced at about the same rate as Case.

I don't know why would you give 2.5 times more money for something like this that is new and still unproven, when you can buy a Trezor for $99 which is already very proven and I would bet the safest hardware wallet out there.

I have same opinion about the case that is just being shipped to the people. Ok these wallets are sleeker looking than Trezor, but they are definitely not safer.

This is a good point, we should discuss what's different between this, Case, and Trezor! How are these wallets (KeepKey and Case) NOT as safe as Trezor?
445  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Questions about bitcoins on: October 04, 2015, 06:03:04 AM
Well I am trading some items on Steam for about 1btc through bitcoincore. This is my first time trading with bitcoins so I have a few questions.

1-Can the sender chargeback his bitcoins like in paypal ?
2-Can I put the bitcoins I get onto paypal for real money ?

This information would help alot

1. Nope. Bitcoin transactions are irreversible.
2. Yup, if you can find someone who buys bitcoins via PayPal then you can pretty much convert it into real money.

If you can post the items you are trading in the Digital Goods section that would be great. I'm currently looking for Dota 2 items that I can buy for discounted prices and it seems that there aren't that much offers. If there are, mostly are above market prices, which sucks.

Do the beats, the question has been answered twice before you - with nearly the exact same response as yours. You don't need to respond a third time. Perhaps consider reading the posts before marking your reply. You're not obligated to reply...if you weren't getting paid would you repeat someone else's response?
446  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is going wrong in the world? on: October 04, 2015, 01:54:28 AM
First, not all of these causes are met or fought with violence.

Second, a lot of the frustration people have is due to the money from governments that may be spend on these causes that people object to so deeply (e.g., abortion clinics).

I'm with you on most of this. We should do less to restrict people's individual freedoms. However I also feel the government  tax dollars should support less organizations  as well. Let the people that are avid pro-choicers (in the US) fund the abortion clinics. Let the people who go to church fund their churches.

Using violence is wrong, obviously. However then some say if we give up our guns the Government will force us into submission OR guns protect. But then some shooting happens and  where were the "guns to protect"? No where...they don't stop the tragedies from happening.

This world will get no better until we learn not to hate each other and we learn not to kill each other. Only then will we be able to excel into the realm of interstellar achievements.
447  Economy / Economics / Re: International Reserve Bank on: October 04, 2015, 01:49:20 AM
In international politics the unveiled NSA spying has at some point been thought about by most every government. With that kind of intrusion by foreign states already in their conscience, why couldn't the political atmosphere there support an efficient economic monetary approach using bitcoin.

Would a collective partnership of sovereign countries whose taxation and economic policies are similar, but for whatever reason not  effective, consider an International Reserve Bank type package based on the blockchain? Is anyone already working on this, and if so how do I get involved?

Yes, it's called the European Union, no? Is isn't the EU essentially and international reserve bank (among many other things)? It's a good case study to see how these things work - the successes, the synergies, and the challenges. For example, the power of the EU is great. However when one major nation's economy starts to fail there's an impending obligation to cover those losses fro the other countries. That obligation may not be so welcome.
448  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Mark Zuckerberg vs. neighbor dispute gets even weirder on: October 04, 2015, 01:47:01 AM
This Voskerician guy sounds like a fraud to me. If Zuckerberg had promised him something, then he should come up with the proof. As far as I know, this guy doesn't have any evidence to prove his stupid claim. I know these real estate guys. Most of them are thugs and crooks, who try to steal money from both the buyer and the seller.

Yeah, I agree.

This is a great lesson for people - don't say something like "sure I'll introduce you to some people" as part of a formal contract. It's so vague there's no telling  where this guy and Zuck would agree on the correct volume of people that could have been considered introductions to call the contract complete.

This is bound to get dropped from court because it's ridiculous. It's a waste of the courts time. And both of them got something out of the contract. Zuck got his rights to buy the land and this other guy got paid for those rights. That's it!
449  Other / Politics & Society / Re: HSBC has wrecked our lives, say customers frozen out and unable to switch on: October 04, 2015, 01:44:41 AM
It sucks that these people have had their assets frozen but why can't they open an account with any other bank?

This article will likely help the get the attention they need from HSBC to correct the problem if their account was frozen in error.
450  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Self-Driving Cars Could Save 300,000 Lives Per Decade in America on: October 04, 2015, 01:42:10 AM
It IS going to be huge. Not only will it make the road safer but it'll give people time and productivity - think about all the time spent in traffic that will now be available for work or other things. Think about the people that are immobile (handicapped, elderly) that can now travel safely in their self driving car.

It's pretty amazing  and  it's great to see traditional car companies follow Google's lead in creating this technology.

Here's a video from Google: https://www.google.com/selfdrivingcar/
451  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coding couse that i should do on: October 04, 2015, 01:37:41 AM
If you have a little extra money look at local community college, trade school, college, university etc.  I really benefited with the option of being able to have a teacher on learning coding.

Some of the options above are higher then others.  But if you have a local community college likely you can get a programming class for not a huge amount of money.  (yes much higher then just a book though).

And if you don't have any money or don't want to spend money, consider finding a student  in that field to teach you in their spare time, or take them out for coffee to just talk about it. There's probably coding clubs or groups of people that just love to talk about it in your area of the world.
452  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The 10 Commandments of Internet Security & Online Privacy on: October 04, 2015, 01:35:50 AM
What would be more helpful is explanations for newbies on how they can succeed at following all of these commandments.

For example:
  • How do I mask my IP using a proxy service?
  • How do be "extra" cautious on social media?
  • What communication tools for email, messaging,  and  VOIP are safest?

Knowing the commandments is a great first step, but not unless one learns how to follow them.

Share what you know!

What are you selling?

We may be interested and a lot of people sell things on the Goods board of this Forum, for Bitcoin, every single day. You can find very reliable people to serve as escrow to hold payment while the goods are in shipment as well.
454  Economy / Economics / Re: Speculators From Venezuela Try To Increase Bitcoin Price By Spreading False News on: October 04, 2015, 01:30:34 AM
A group of speculators from Venezuela residing overseas create false rumors about bitcoin being block by the government so they can increase the price and benefit from it.

How silly, this news wouldn't spike the price! Word that a government is going to block the use would hurt bitcoin, by far. Spreading news about large companies or governments supporting and accepting  bitcoin would be the best news to help the price, by far!

Increased adoption is the sure fire way for the price of bitcoin to increase - awareness creates more demand and as we know the supply of bitcoin is finite.
455  Economy / Economics / Re: How too get rich on: October 04, 2015, 01:27:36 AM
Just read Rich Dad Poor Dad

this book work not

Why not? Getting rich is pretty easy - spend less, save more,  that's it.
456  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin wealth inequality and why it is bad on: October 03, 2015, 11:48:27 PM
What's inequal is the way this poll is written.'

You either agree with the OP's contention that wealth inequality is wrong. Or you don't know anything. Or you need to "Get The Fuck Out". Really fair, eh? Don't be an idiot!

If you had a Million Euro and I didn't, would you give me (a stranger) half just to be fair, fuck no you wouldn't! So don't act like you're against it!

If you want real results you should provide poll options that don't lead to bias answers, here...I'll show you how to do it. Pay close attention now, I don't want to do it twice and you NEED the education!

I didn't intend the poll itself (or its results) to be of any relevance or importance (but not the contents of the topic, of course). So I agree, it is a little skewed, but that was on purpose...

Strictly speaking, GTFO is essentially just another way of admitting that "I don't understand a thing"

So you admit that your thread was a troll thread?! Why are you wasting our time if you didn't intend for the poll "to be of any relevance or importance"?

Readers - please go to the better example of a poll that I've created at this link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1199245.0
457  Economy / Economics / Re: POLL: Bitcoin Inequality on: October 03, 2015, 11:45:31 PM
Wealth inequality exists in the real world as well. Wealth equality is a pipe dream that will never exist.

if we all think like that, it will never change. bitcoin is still fairly new. i think it is still possible to spread the coins more equally at some point in the future. but that will only happen if we stand up and start doing something about it.

Randy, what are the virtues about wealth equality?  What are the downsides?

I only see downsides:
  • Lack of motivation, since I'll always get a piece of my hardworking neighbor's reward
  • No reward for work or innovation, which will stagnate growth

Narrowing the gap of wealth inequality is one thing, fighting for complete wealth equality is very different.
458  Economy / Economics / Re: POLL: Bitcoin Inequality on: October 03, 2015, 11:44:09 PM
if there were no inequality and everyone was an early adopters, can someone really think that there would have been more buyers? or just plain more manipulators?

i'm prone to think the latter, would have been more true

Well there would always be someone who missed the boat otherwise we'd all have dust and  would have forgotten  about it!
459  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / KeepKey Wallet - anyone using this? on: October 03, 2015, 11:42:57 PM
https://www.keepkey.com/?gclid=CIfhjIq9p8gCFQ9rfgodCX8B3Q

I just saw an ad on freebitco.in about the safest wallet ever - Keep Key, which is a bitcoin hardware wallet that protects your money from hackers and thieves, while giving you convenient access. Available now for $239.

Is anyone using this? It looks like a wireless modem.

I'd love to hear some reviews.
460  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Adult Ad Networks on: October 03, 2015, 11:40:51 PM
Maybe the question should be are there ad networks that accept bitcoin that have adult services companies buying ad space?
