I am convinced Zetacoin HATES me LOL

Ok I equally have tried this over and over, wanting to solo mine zeta, here is my conf file

rpcuser=cyberpinoy
rpcpassword=12345
maxconnection=200
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=192.168.0.*
rpcport=17335
port=17333
gen=1
genproclimit=-1
server=1
daemon=1
listen=1
addnode=105.236.111.72
addnode=188.252.16.110
addnode=54.212.51.236
addnode=75.162.220.45
addnode=146.185.148.114
addnode=94.23.68.11
addnode=69.147.229.226
addnode=108.58.12.53
addnode=54.200.48.80
addnode=192.241.136.114
addnode=216.158.85.123
addnode=85.17.227.176

and here is my CG miner file

cgminer.exe --icarus-options 115200:1:1 -o 127.0.0.1:17334 -u cyberpinoy -p 12345 --rock-freq 290 --btc-address {My ZET ADDRESS IS HERE}
pause

So please tell me what I am doing wrong, It either gets stuck on the waiting for usb hot plugin, however if I close it and open ANY other bat file (solo or pooled mining) it works fine, if it doesnt get that situation I get a Waiting for alive pools and it stays like that for a while then nothing.

I tried the securesomething or other pool and it works fine, so I tried inputting the 27333 port they use and it didnt work.

I tried changing the ip address to local host and it didnt work.

if I can get this to work with my r box and successfully get something in 24 hours I may point my 1 thash/s machine at here but I need to get this Rbox working first.

Thank you
just use the correct port and ur fine, use the number set @ rpcport and not a number you didnt set Tongue

What do you all think of BitXBay, the first decentralized marketplace? Here are two short articles about it:

https://exploreb2b.com/articles/bitxbay-the-worlds-first-decentralized-and-anonymous-marketplace
http://coinbrief.net/bitxbay-bitcoin-decentralized-market/

I spoke to the developer by email, and he would like to add support for anoncoin, but for a fee of 1000 usd. I'm not too happy about paying to play. At the same time, though, the project appears to be underfunded, so perhaps this fee would go to a good cause.

I really think that it would be great to associate Anoncoin to these darkmarkets from the start. This might be a good opportunity. He claimed that anoncoin integration would take a month, perhaps less.

I think we should be looking in this direction. There are several distributed marketplaces under development. OpenBazzars looks intresting. its beta release is at hte end of the month. https://github.com/OpenBazaar/OpenBazaar

also something based on OT might be the best option. http://opentransactions.org . they say they are going to implement voting pools which would essentially eliminate risk of theft. http://opentransactions.org/wiki/index.php?title=Category:Voting_Pools
I think that there are two directions that we could take (or both).

First, we could try to get ANC incorporated into the biggest open market platforms, such as OT, OB, and BXB. In the end, we would likely end up being just one of many altcoins being accepted, which is better than nothing.

Second (as suggested by K1773R on IRC), we could just fork one of these to be an ANC only platform (most likely OT). If we did this, to distinguish it from the "better known" markets, I think that we would have to go for 0% transaction fees. BitXBay (and probably the others, I haven't looked) have built in transaction fees that go to the developers, which kind of bothers me.
I didnt say it should be ANC only. I was talking about forking, mkaing it working for ANC and send a pull request to upstream. This way we dont have to spend somuch money. Just the usual approach if you want something to be merged into an open source software.
ANC only could also exist of course

Call me crazy, but I still believe the "Big News" is real.
I think there's a strong team behind Zetacoin... there's stuff like https://cryptr.ch/
There's real value behind Zetacoin not vapor like some other alts
I'm going to hold my bag till the end of times! Smiley
its funny. in recent time somany ppl came up with .ch (switzerland) TLD to fake swiss quality... how is this something good?
some exchanges even lied to have swiss origins

446  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Abe 0.7: Open Source Block Explorer Knockoff on: August 16, 2014, 06:57:02 PM
Who can help me with the Abe Blockchain Explorer.

I want to install it for an scrypt coin. PLS send me a PM if you can help. THX

If I want to set up an Abe installation, which version should I use then? The last release v0.7.2 from 7 Dec 2012, or the current master branch from GitHub?

I tried the current master branch from GitHub without success.
README-* contains informations on how to setup abe.

i'd be using master since it contains fixes. as you saw there wasnt a version/rc since a long time.

I get this mail from Bluetrade

Now you can trade Bitcoin and other cryptomoedas with US Dollar in Bleutrade.
As you know, we are constantly implementing new solutions in order to facilitate the possibility of expanding the users of our negotiations.
Payeer was the first payment system to be integrated into Bleutrade.
Soon we will bring new innovations to you.

Regarding this price on cryptsy, I'm not trader,  but if you ask me,
I would moved all buy orders for month or two, so price can go down more, and reject ppl who do not believe in ANC.
Let them sell with profit..
 Roll Eyes
Seems i was right to choose and recommend bleutrade.
448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: August 13, 2014, 11:16:55 PM
Here is an interesting idea from the Monero thread: I too have been annoyed that the none of the clients out there (including anoncoin) check to see if a new version/update is available.

It's not the first currency where I tell this: one of the first features of a wallet should be to check, at least at start-up, if it's outdated and tell the user to update. There will always be 2 version numbers available: last known version and last mandatory version.
It's not difficult to implement and even the command line wallet can have that check.

Ohwell, maybe in the next version Smiley

Well, the thing is, we don't want the daemon making non-p2p connections unless explicitly allowed by the user, so checking via the web is a no-go. What we *can* do is add functionality where if > 58% of connected peers (ie. 7 of the standard 12 max) are on a newer version, notify the user that a new version is available. Peers can indicate the last mandatory version, too, and if you're on a version < that version the daemon can pump out lots of warnings, and simplewallet can have an additional confirmation dialog for every transaction before sending.

Interesting. It would be very useful to add this feature to next wallet.
This is not quite correct; if there is a outdated version, we (Meeh) will publish a network wide alert informing everyone with version X or lower to upgrade.
Its not something new, it got invented by BTC
449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | cPoW | PC mining | Stability | Hashcows - QRK Payouts on: August 11, 2014, 07:31:06 PM

I agree with you we need more real work merchants, however all coins are aiming for this so why should they choose qrk?

We need developers, project managers, marketing, yes they need funding or incentives. Other coins have the funding to provide the incentive, qrk does not.

...
Bitcoin is the first one and pretty much ALL altcoins offer some form of improvement over bitcoin.
...
If you take a look at all coins out there, then almost all coins are just "get rich quick" with no advantages over bitcoin itself
450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [EMC] EmerCoin - PoW&PoS - SHA-256 on: August 11, 2014, 02:31:49 PM
Why does Emercoin have STUN? What are you trying to achieve with it?

Major improvement:

  For the first time in the history of cryptocurrencies, is used STUN protocol to obtaining an external IP address, instead of WEB-service.

  This problem is already discussed in the cryptocurrency community, for example, here:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/29zx7z/bitcoin_core_uses_showmyip_as_a_centralized_hard/

But, without any positive outcome.

Problem description:

  Bitcoin and it’s descendants (PPC, QRK, etc) – all of them uses same public WEB-server for obtain external IP.
There is two public servers, hardcoded into a wallet program:
- http://checkip.dyndns.or
- http://www.showmyip.com

For source code, see https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/master/src/net.cpp, function GetMyExternalIP()

  What is interesting: 2nd server http://www.showmyip.com is out of service nowadays. So, all Bitcoin and altcoin networks currently
dependent  on single WEB-server: checkip.dyndns.org. If this server will gone, then coin network will not died, but dramatically lost stability.
This will happening, because of peers wouldn't able to advertise  (represent) another peers into network, and peer network
connectivity will be decreased.

  Moreover, current WEB-mechanism for obtain external IP is based on non-standardized human-oriented text protocol.
Therefore, if site owners will modify output format, (for instance, for better reading), then all coin wallets will be unable
to parse and understand answers, and results will be as same as server down.

  In addition, dyndnd.org’s owners able to analyze WEB-server logs, and collect list of IP addresses, where is running coin wallets
and request timestamps, if is not doing this right now (request signature is hardcoded and well known, and easy to distinct).
If we remember, users usually runs wallet just before start some transactions, then we aware:
analyst can correlate wallet start and transaction time, and link it to IP address.
This is serious compromise of coin users anonymity.

Our solution:

  We substituted current non-standard, hard-weight (based on TCP/HTTP) protocol to protocol, based on mature standard RFC3489 (STUN),
designed especially for this purpose. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/STUN . This is lightweight, UDP-based protocol, used in SIP-based
applications (VOIP, IP-video) for 10+ years. And since it is standardized, we can use unlimited list of  servers for request, and always be
sure: EmerCoin wallet can parse/understand answer from anyone.

  Currently, new EMC-wallet for obtain IP address uses 47 STUN-servers, distributed worldwide, and request sequence is random. Therefore,
nobody can collect significant list if our wallets. Moreover, we performed some steps for randomize signature request, and for server is difficulty
to distinct EMC-wallet request from request, sent by IP phone or softswitch.

  Therefore, we reached our goals: removed dependency from centralized server, increased network stability and provide real  anonymity.

  EmerCoin - cryptocurrency of future. Download/upgrade a new wallet here: http://emercoin.com/downloads/
Thats a good idea. First my alarm bells were ringing -> using STUN to bypass NAT restrictions. but if STUN is only used to get the public IP, everytihng is fine Smiley

A new version release v 0.2.2

Advanced dynamic IP protocol STUN added!
Why does Emercoin have STUN? What are you trying to achieve with it?

Boomcoin [BOOM]    - 10 (1.6%)

There are several new anonymous coins coming every week now. Soon it will be several a day.

Here is a summary of the argument I have been trying to make one last time. Then I will terminate the luigi persona and try to be polite under a different username.

Imagine two coins and decide which is likely to succeed.

Anoncoin 1. The current anoncoin. Tries to emphasize a superior anonymity protocol, as many coins do. Tries to take a conservative approach, not ruffle feathers, as most coins do. Aside from working with monero in a mainstream political way there is nothing at this point that distinguishes anoncoin from any other coin except its history.

Anoncoin 2. A coin that takes aggressive political stances and overtly intends to be used for political purposes. Goes after markets in countries with tight financial restrictions. Top priority is to be used globally in any language, culture etc, rather than seeming to focus on people who hide money for criminal or comfort reasons or most of the other reasons Americans and Europeans most commonly might use an anonymous currency for. Primary focus is financial ethics with no regard or respect for national laws that contradict its goals.

Only one of those two coins would succeed. Anoncoin right now, with no real goals beyond making some money for its holders, is doing exactly the same thing as a hundred other coins. It is digital mediocrity like most coins.

Turning it into a successful coin that will survive only requires the devs and other visible people to decide thats the path the coin will take. Logistics, e.g. "how do you target x country with anoncoin", will be much more easily solved than " how do you beat darkcoin or whatevercoin in the race to a more marketable algorhythm".
Those coins have either fake anonymity, or something like coinjoin/similiar which is worthless.

EDIT: of course with exceptions (zerocash/monero)

Hi,

I have compiled a headless quarkcoind on linux. CPU shows 99%. I do not want it to mine. How can I do that?
100% cpu dosnt not mean its mining.
Code:
quarkcoind getmininginfo
should show if your mining or not, to disable it put gen=0 into your *.conf
while sycning, it will of course use cpu too.
456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: August 07, 2014, 03:00:51 PM
Whereas Zerocoin can be set up in a trustless manner using RSA UFOs, Zerocash can not.

That can't work in a trustless manner. This explains the abandonment of zerocoin by its own developers!
Explain why not, if you dont do this your argument is invalid.

The style is supposed to be techy yet simple, old school in a modern way, underground but fresh.

Plain html/css, no php/sql/javascript/ajax/google/facebook.

http://image.bayimg.com/24527a19f17592d44c7d9eaab5b350b2f9d159ea.jpg

The texts have not been my priority and are "work in progress" together with lunokhod2.
But please give input on all levels.

Nice to see you again here!

There may be just the writing that visually bother me because all is in caps. But it's maybe just me Smiley

458  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Abe 0.7: Open Source Block Explorer Knockoff on: August 04, 2014, 09:06:37 PM
can someone help me i am trying to set up an block explorer for VirtaCoin.
It is just to get started into this and i saw they didn't have one so i thought give it a go.
But the problem is i keep only seeing the genesis block and nothing more.
Can someone here maybe tell me if my configuration is wrong.
or other things i have to pay attention to
i pulled the head revision from github. also i tried doing it with 0.7.2. but that had no success at all.

abe.conf

Code:
dbtype MySQLdb
    connect-args {"user":"user","db":"dbname","passwd":"pass"}
    upgrade
    port 2900
        host 127.0.0.1
binary-type binary
datadir += [{
        "dirname": "/root/.virtacoin",
        "chain": "VirtaCoin",
        "address_version":"\u0000",
         "policy":"LtcScryptChain",
        "conf": "virtacoin.conf"
      }]

Abe/DataStore.py

Code:
   {"chain":"VirtaCoin","policy":"LtcScryptChain",
     "code3":"VTA", "address_version":"\x00", "magic":"\xbe\xd0\xc8\xd1"},

if someone can tell me if something is wrong please.

I had to do a lot to get it working properly, the cheap and easy fix to get it working once you get at as far as you have is this in Datastore.py

Code:
 -                    if chain.block_header_hash(chain.serialize_block_header(
 -                            block)) != hash:
 -                        raise InvalidBlock('block hash mismatch')
 +                   # if chain.block_header_hash(chain.serialize_block_header(
 +                   #         block)) != hash:
 +                   #     raise InvalidBlock('block hash mismatch')

Thanks i will try it.
it didn't work without rebuilding the database so i am trying that now

okay strangely now it is at block_tx 45030 13903 and the coin only has 44974 blocks. How is this possible?
(and yes i triple checked) and it is still importing more
orphans are imported too but "removed" (not really removed, they still exist AFAIK) so the number of blocks is higher. block_tx <block overall count> <transactions overall count>.
same of course applies to transactions which didnt get accepted due to orphan.

i have missed the Anoncoin,i was and am the fan of Anoncoin.but i have to say where is the zerocoin?
In development, help us out by running ufo_client Smiley

Is this difficult to do? At work I have a pc and a mac with adequate processing power that I could dedicate, but it could easily strand on my amateur skills.
AFAIK its linux only

why do you cry about stolen/lost coins by viruses/fakes if you do this and if you use winblows in combination? after all its your fault.
