441  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Bubble 3.0 on: January 15, 2017, 05:58:06 PM
It's more like:

1. Rally to $266
2. Rally to $1,300
3. Rally to $35,000

$1,300 (or $800 at current exchange rates) to $35,000 is a bit too much to ask for, in my opinion. That would require the market cap to increase to almost $500 billion. It is not theoretically impossible, but at current circumstances I can't see a clear path towards it.

very possible my good man
facebook is worth about 350 B
would you let anyone tell you that bitcoin is less  functional than facebook ??
442  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think we will break the $2000 mark some day? on: January 15, 2017, 03:46:53 PM
I agree as well that 2000$ price will fall.
But I do not expect it to happen in 2017.
For 2017 I expect something of 1400$ to 1600$ to be the highest.
2000$ can be reached in 2018, maybe it will even take time to 2019.

A lot of guys like clif high are saying the data suggests we go up much sooner than 2018, it is likely to start in February or March

443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: January 15, 2017, 03:06:31 PM
Xmr is still in my opinion the best privacy coin, followed by SDC

DASH is flawed and zcash is a scam (imo)

We may retrace a bit for now  but I think $50 by the summer is realistic so stay calm and hodl  Cool

444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: January 15, 2017, 11:57:59 AM
What happened? Why the price dropped? Who is selling and why?  Huh

its worthwhile to hedge with some shadowcash (i like them both )
But SDC still very under priced and they are making a  darknet market

446  Other / MultiBit / Re: Multibit HD no longer works with Trezor in Win 10? on: January 14, 2017, 02:05:10 AM
NOPE. Trezor says it is Multibit HD's problem. Their hardware works perfectly and it is up to Multibit to get their software working again. So when will you?

Sorry about that. I left Multibit HD behind a while ago since there are better wallets to choose from, like Electrum.

electrum doesnt look as good but Yes ,at least it fucking usually works
MB HD i had multiple problems with ,sometimes it refuses to connect to peers and when it did i had to reync the blockchain to
show my correct balance and now its been hacked too ........theres a thread on reddit
447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would you store >100 Bitcoins? on: January 07, 2017, 04:49:58 PM
I need to say this again as many people suggesting web or desktop wallets for such sum is not the recommended advice.

People who have more than 100 bitcoins can afford to buy the most fancy and expensive hardware wallet which will cost them max 0.30 bitcoins. Be smart ,invest in a hardware wallet if you have that amount. Any other idea is plain stupid for such amount.

I must be plain stupid then, I stored thousands of bitcoins safely  without one since 2010 until this day and I don't intend to buy one either... Simply unnecessary if you know what your doing....
448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would you store >100 Bitcoins? on: January 07, 2017, 04:10:34 PM
Always usse different different wallets of different private keys to store ur bitcoins .it is the best as it will not create people s attention and u l be able to save it for a long future.

100 wallets are more difficult to look after than one,   made properly of course

449  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: January 06, 2017, 02:48:13 AM
I hope one day bitcoin could go up $100k and I'm so rich that all girls will never look down on me again.

If girls are looking down on you now because you don't have enough money, they're not the kind of girls you should  value anyway when you become a bitcoin millionaire...
Grow some balls man, you will need them for the future  Cool
450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would you store >100 Bitcoins? on: January 06, 2017, 02:44:38 AM
Store these in multiple wallets. That is the only way to be safe and secure. Also don't forget to use a proper licensed version of any internet security package. This way you can increase the safety of your bitcoin.

Use hardware wallet and store a good amount of bitcoin there. Then use multiple online wallets like coinbase and blockchain. Store little amount in these two wallets. Remember, the more you diversify, the more safer your bitcoin will be.

The more you diversify, the more chance you will get locked out of your own coins....

I would keep it as simple as possible because I once forgot the password to a wallet with ~3000 btc in it....

I can't believe. Whether you mistakenly quoted bitcoin worth 3000$ or 3000 btc. That seems a very big value to be lost, these days with several security advancements I believe even lost password can be retrieved. Diversifying and holding into different wallet seems good than placing a big value together, though hacking is impossible but if hacked too losses can be reduced.

No it was 3000 bitcoins... Not $
I remembered the password after a couple of stressful  days   in 2013...

451  Economy / Economics / Re: How many BTC will make you a fiat millionaire in 5 years? on: January 06, 2017, 02:41:15 AM
Can 1 bitcoin equal to 1 million in the future?

Yes but not until 2024 halving
452  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell my stocks buy bitcoin... on: January 06, 2017, 02:15:16 AM
I also do not think its worth trying right now because of the bitcoin price, you can better try it on a later moment when the price has lowered a bit again.

The  range I expect for 2017 is $3000-7000
Buy now while you still can afford a whole bitcoin

After looking at the current increase in the price of bitcoin I will say that not much amount will be required to make a person millionaire in the coming 5 years. At that time I am sure that we will require only 2 digit bitcoins to become millionaire.

So 10-99 lol
That's a nice margin of error to work with...
455  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: January 06, 2017, 01:19:56 AM
I also heard that bitcoin is up, is anyone following... Huh  Grin

Yes, I do believe this may well be gentlemen...  Cheesy

Pretty soon it will be time for dogs to smoke expensive cigars, monocles and moonbeams....  Wink
456  Economy / Speculation / Re: If we didnt had idiots blocking segwit we would be sittting on 4 figures by now on: January 05, 2017, 11:26:16 PM
Why don't we change the max coins to 7,000,000,000 so EVERYONE can have a Bitcoin?

That is how I feel about SegWit, block size increases, etc.

I am so sick of all the FEAR, people thinking Bitcoin won't scale or whatever. Just Leave it Alone already. If Bitcoin is flawed as is, then let it fail. If you think Bitcoin can be better with changes, then make your own Alt-coin.

It is working JUST FINE and has been for 8 YEARS.

More people = Slower confirmation times = HIGHER fees. This is GOOD for the Free Market and rewards Miners.

People will pay higher fees to get confirmed faster. Some people will be fine waiting 24 hours for a confirmation.

Just relax folks. You don't need instant dust transactions. There can be microwallets and altcoins for that.

This guy gets it! Let the free market sort it out, or should I say "fee market" ?  Grin
Now that we have child-pays-for-parent and dynamic TX fee estimation BTC is just fine the way it is. You can do your beggar's microtransactions with doge, eth and other shitcoins. Leave BTC for the lambos. However, I'd really like to see the block size also be determined by the free market the way Bitcoin Unlimited sees it. If your block is too big for the network to swallow it will be orphaned which gives incentive for the miners to use effective block sizes. I don't know what's wrong with the brains of the SegWit boys, they just refuse to see the light.

$75 million cheque from AXA and a weekly wage is the only thing that is making them try to funnel the tx's into something they can control and  charge for.....

Agreed - this is why altcoins can be useful, and shouldn't all be generalized as shit[coins].

While I want bitcoin to succeed, I'd love to see how big miners react if btc was suddenly destroyed  Shocked What would they even do? Imagine the rage...mass suicides...what would come of the mining farms?

They would mine ltc or something else....

17 Billion $   Grin
Congratulations gentlemen!
459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: January 03, 2017, 08:21:33 PM
Even though the price has gone up a bit, is now still a good time to buy more XMR?
ZEC is trading at almost 3x the price of Monero, and I personally feel that Monero is a much better product, with at least some support even if its mostly from darknet vendors right now.
Surely the price could go as high as Zcash, right?
I don't think $40 to $50 is unreasonable if we get more exchanges and wallets supporting the coin, and start to see some clearnet websites start to accept payments in XMR.
(Or is this just wishful thinking?)

Of course Monero is better than Zcash bcoz it has been in Market for a longer time & is also accepted on many darknet websites, which i dont think Zcash will achieve until Monero is present.

Better / worse are debatable. I do think that XMR wins but I do hold some ZEC just in case. I also hold far more XMR.

What isn't debatable is that the vast majority of XMR that will exist is already on the tradeable market. ZEC will take another 5-6 years to get to the same supply of tokens as XMR. As such it's likely that ZEC will be far more volatile and in the very short term, will keep losing value as the supply keeps on rapidly increasing.

I would dump the zec ASAP as it will soon become apparent that zooko and the Israeli government can pull them out of its ass and all that secrecy and theatrical events to launch the coin was just that....
460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: January 02, 2017, 09:42:29 AM

xmr is not the only option in town
there is another underpriced privacy coin out there that has yet to get the bright lights directed on it and will this month (jan)...

Missed this post a few pages back... but LOL c'mon man don't tease, let us know what other coin you're talking about here?

What could be better than our best good old HoneyPony's prospects at this current point in time??

Inquiring Minds Want To Know...!!!  Cheesy

There are a lot of interesting projects on the horizon
On the xmr thread there is no need to talk about other coins because we should focus on xmr but you should not only listen to the shills and also do your own research

I hope xmr will be the number 1 privacy coin and I am betting in that direction but I have also hedged into some others for diversification....

I think btc will be the likely winner of 2017 tho and eth is a wildcard  that might fail and go to zero or might grow exponentially, nobody really knows how but if you can afford it you hold some of each, come 2020 you may be shopping for a gulfstream jet Wink
