Read the sticky of rules at the top of the forums Q: Why isn't trust moderated? A: Feedback isn't moderated (except for obvious cases such as pure advertising, hundreds of identical empty/gibberish reports on one user) for the same reason as scams - too much room for abuse. To be honest, deleting reports would actually give room to abuse. Imagine if someone with a huge amount of trust decided to start attacking people. He could easily report all the negative trust against him, and admin's would side with him as he would have tonnes of trust. Untrusted feedback is hidden by default too, so don't worry about it too much. Admins will not delete trust except in extreme cases and you're just wasting your own time.

Interestingly enough, he has negative (albeit untrusted) feedback from quite a few other people who claim he has left them dishonest feedback. On his trust page, under Untrusted Feedback: "tagged" left him negative feedback for leaving negative feedback for no reason. "DrahogErusiel" left him negative feedback for "abusing trust system" Not sure about the validity of these claims, but there is a chance he's been using his position in DefaultTrust to attack competition? Not certain, don't consider this an allegation, but this might support you if you look more into it.

I think that most atheists are not religious, not due to hate of religion, but due to skepticism. However, I know of quite a few younger atheists who hate religion due to being forced into it as a child.
I'm not sure either on what path is right for a parent to take when considering religion. An open approach, allowing the child to choose a religion? But that would not offer the child something to believe in and seek asylum. Furthermore, while it doesn't necessarily apply to adults, religion could help develop values in children.
What do you all think about raising children with religion?

An entire religion can never be denounced as hateful, regardless of how many people practicing the religion seem hateful. Saying that Islam is a hateful religion because of terrorist groups is like saying Christianity is a white supremacist because of the KKK. *snip* Ask away... Everyone is friendly here Now you're trying to tell us that there aren't any true Muslims here ^^. And really? These broad sweeping generalizations are just insane. Sure, some Muslims are hateful, but so are some Jews, some Christians and some of every religion. I'd say this thread is more hateful than any Muslim I've ever known.

Chess software doesn't figure out the best possible move, as the figure you have shown assumes. It simply needs to figure out a really good move. It usually looks 10-20 moves ahead, analysing different moves and looking at what effects it would have in the long run. This is done by comparing the value lost or gained by each move in the equivalent of pawns, eventually figuring out which move will gain the most in positional or material advantage. Sure, it can't look forward for the entire game, but it still can play better than any person can.

If you're gambling with the aim of earning money, set a fixed threshold and aim to get there in a single bet of all your funds.
That's not really the case. The real advice should be to minimize the amount you wager when playing a game with a fixed house edge. Doesn't look like it was decided which was the best way. Did Rhavar decide what he thought to be the best method and pay out to the best method on the thread ? Both 'blockage' and 'dooglus' gave fantastic solutions (just skip past the rest, really). As I recall, I checked blockage's and awarded him the prize, and then Dooglus came in later and posted an even better strategy. Heh, I even have a snarky reply to one of the pointless posts on that page. Sorry, I seem to have made my OP a bit too generalized sounding. I didn't intend it like that, I've struck it out, probably should add some sort of disclaimer. But it still is more effective than a lot of more instinctive moves, such as doubling continuously, which "feels" good as you see your balance go up for some time.

Oh come on. An avid chess player could beat even the most powerful bot. I'm pretty sure that chess is one of the hardest board games to "exploit" with automation. [...]
Tell that to Kasparov - where have you been these last 20 years? Chess is a perfect information game (that is, a game where both players have full knowledge of the complete state of the game), with relatively few movement options - perfect for computers to play, and win, against humans. Furthermore, their capabilities only improve with each passing year, alongside processing power and changes in programming techniques. Assuming they make their own engine, and most of the gambling is rather small, I doubt anyone will spend the effort to develop a bot for this. Anyways, I see this as completely fair. I can imagine that every single person competing would just end up downloading a chess AI and manually copying in the moves. It's going to be about who can google "free chess software" better.

House edges have a much greater impact than you can imagine.
Assume you start with 1 BTC, with the final aim of 1024 BTC.
With a house edge of 1%, you have a 0.0966% chance if you try to do a direct 1024x bet. On the other hand, if you try doubling your money 10 times to reach there, you get a (0.495)^10 = 0.0883% chance of reaching 1024 BTC.
While in the first case, the expected value is 0.99 BTC, in the second case though, it is around 0.9 BTC. Effectively, in the second case, the house edge is actually 10%, even though your start amount and target amount are the same.
In general, the average amount you expect to win (expected value) after a number of bets will be original amount * (1 - house edge)^number of bets
What am I getting at with this?
If you're gambling with the aim of earning money, set a fixed threshold and aim to get there in a single bet of all your funds.
You always lose 1% or whatever house edge of all the money in total that you bet. Try to minimise the total amount of money gambled. If you have no strategy, putting it all on a low chance roll may be better than a lot of other poorly conceived strategies
Admittedly betting it all on one go, with a low chance to win is not fun...

Well, if the minimum bet is small enough, 0.0001 to 0.0005, you could try a few hundred at without a large loss and try to get a good sample size. The question is though, why not reveal the casino? If it is a scam, others will know. If it isn't a scam, people can defend it, or the casino owner could try to justify.

You need to be trusted enough for me to not risk a chargeback. I'll go first.

You didn't mention anything about not using hacks.
Would you be willing to record/screenshare every game to ensure you don't hack? I'll think about ordering if you can.
I can publicly post the official replays of all the games I play. I think you can also check out last 8 games played on your account at any time too, so it wouldn't be too much of a problem if an escrow holds payment until the buyer is fully sure.

If you have a brand new paypal account the funds will be on hold for 21 days (if send via gift it will not be held) But why would you open a second paypal account if not for scam? (i not say you are a scammer) just the question I am not the scammer. I am scared that someone will scam me by charging back, and will take money from my real account. If I have a false account, any scammer will win, but I won't lose anything. Paypal will put my money into negative, but I won't have anything connected to lose out on.

Wouldn't it be possible to create a new Paypal account, receive the money first, spend it or give it to another account and then just forget about it? What will PayPal do if your transactions get reversed if you're at 0$, will they void other transfers, good purchases or gift cards bought? Wouldn't this allow doing whatever you want with zero risk if you simply transferred all your money to another account as soon as you received it?
like Rappelz said, if someone does a chargeback to your paypal account and you have $0, your account will go negative (and fairly sure the money will go back to the other person). in effect you would owe paypal that money and your account would likely be frozen til you've cleared the funds back to zero. if your paypal acc is linked to your bank account they might even try to debit it to get their money back (assuming you set up a direct debit when you linked the account). if you dont clear the negative balance after a few weeks they will pass it onto a local debt collection agency. Who will they pass it onto if I make a false account with no links to any of my real world details? EG: I pay someone 20$ BTC for 20$ on Paypal. I buy a steam wallet card of 20$. The person who sold me the Paypal balance for 20$ charges back. What happens to the gift card I bought? Will Paypal try to follow it? No bank account, credit card or debit card connected.

Alright, I'll do this. PM me with possible escrow or tell me if you're willing to go first.

Hmm, I might be looking for something similar too. I post more infrequently, but the signature will still be visible on all prior posts. (sorry if I'm threadjacking)

hmm..right.. many people have misconceptions about activity stats...one should clearly explain in one of the posts, rather mixing all forum rules...
Hi, I hope I'm not too late. Basically, the idea is that if you post once in every two week cycle, you are considered "active" for that two week cycle. Your activity is then calculated by either 14 times the number of cycles you have been active in, or your total posts, whichever is lesser. EG: I am active in 10 cycles and have 50 posts. So, my activity is the lesser of (14*10) = 140 and 50. So I have 50 activity. Since the post count is the lower of the two, I can gain 90 activity if I make 90 posts in a row. But, if on the very same day, I make a hundred posts, I will still have 10 active cycles (140 max activity) but 150 posts. So my activity will be 140. Generally, most people have more posts than activity, and every cycle posted in adds another 14 activity.
