You should move your topic to the "off-topic" section. This doesn't belong to Meta. And to be honest, I do not think belongs to this forum. Is just a link to another website. If you really want to write about the qualities in using an anti-virus, just write.
462  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining in South American and Central Asian countries on: February 22, 2019, 05:20:35 AM
You should also consider the costs to import the equipment. You will have to pay many fees, and they are not usually cheap. And the energy in South America is not very cheap in every country. Only in some of them because of some particularities. Paraguay has half of one of the largest hydroelectric plants in the world and does not use all the energy to which it is entitled in its quota, so it has cheaper energy. But it is not much cheaper than in other countries. So if you calculate everything, it is not as profitable to make people want to move their operation to there.

As Loganota said, many Brazilian entrepreneurs moved there to mine Bitcoin. But few really do. Most have just created Ponzi schemes and use a supposed mining company as marketing.

465  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Tronipaycard UnionPay Card and Mastercard for Cryptocurrencies. on: February 21, 2019, 11:19:02 PM
I see that you have an office in Brasil, great to known. But to be honest, I am not thinking that your company is trustworthy. The link from cointelegraph is a paid press release. I am not finding information about your company in well-known websites. Your twitter has only 8 followers. I do not see the names of the owners, directors etc. There is just a brand register in Brasil and doesn't have the government official register for companies.

You should provide more information for better transparency.
466  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Gaining quick profits or keep holding? on: February 21, 2019, 10:57:11 PM
I think the big question is whether we can see a break in 4200 support with enough volume. I consider this range where today is an excellent zone of accumulation. And I'm buying whenever I can, but a fall may occur to find the fund.
467  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: cryptalks.net - social crypto network on: February 21, 2019, 10:53:05 PM
There are some parts written in English, some in Russian, some in Portuguese. It is not very clear what the site offers. Many links, little content on the landing page.
468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 21, 2019, 07:18:55 PM
What's still mind boggling to me is that people are still considering whether Monero is a good investment around this price range.  We were at this price back in early 2017 when the GUI was first coming out and there was a speculative pump going on during Fluffy's "pre-announcement announcement".

There is so much more underlying tech and research going on.  Remember, it's the same kind of things that make good long term tech stocks good long term choices... those stocks that invest their "money", in this case (because Monero is a decentralized project) "effort", more into the Research & Development (R&D) rather than into investing it in marketing/hype/buying more of their own shares to pump up their own stocks; are always the best bets in not only in the tech stocks, but a whole lot of companies.  Consider random shit like Gillette razors, or maybe even Under Armour... they invest their money to make sure the things they sell are the best that's available.

The whole market is much more mature today than in 2017. Much more research and development has taken place since then. And several projects that were bad are practically out of the market.

Monero was quite resilient during this period. But he could not establish himself as the main currency of the anonymous trade. The average user has not started using it as an alternative to Bitcoin. And still, have a high fee cost.

Unfortunately, as long as do not have a massive use, it will compete with the other pathetic projects that invest heavily in marketing.
469  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Will Coinbase Partner Google In The Future? on: February 21, 2019, 07:03:22 PM
Such a long text and so little information. What would be the meaning of a partnership between the two companies? A business partnership? A marketing partnership? Would Google use the services of coinbase?

One of the big markets that currently exists is offering Clounds related services. Amazon dominates. Everyone else is running after it. So if Google were to enter this market, I do not believe it would be through an exchange. I imagine much more that would be offering some kind of data hosting service using some kind of blockchain. Or a Wallet service that offers mobile solutions.

Coinbase is great for facilitating the integration between banks and cryptos for the common American user. I think that's too little to interest Google, whether it's a partnership or an acquisition.
470  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BitMex Question regarding the Seychelles on: February 21, 2019, 06:41:10 PM
Last year the president of the country met with the founders of Bitmex. So it's somehow understood that they not only know about these operations but also offer legal support for them to operate in the country.

The big question about the legal aspects of Bitmex is more related about the American users. There is pressure for the company to completely block access to the platform by American citizens.
471  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Old blockchain.info stuck on: February 21, 2019, 06:14:59 PM
They send a message to your email when you try to log in. You should click on the message, but you should use the other tab where you have put your password, not the one that has opened. And you should use the number that they have send to your email as your login, not your email.
472  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Portfolio apps on: February 21, 2019, 03:02:24 PM
Have the option to follow others portfolios. Even if they are fake portfolio. I think it would be interesting to be able to follow the action that some people do in the trade. Maybe even pay to follow someone who gave tips and explain why he took certain actions.

Show some options that you have taken as a trader. For example, what is your stop loss, your leverage in Bitmex, your liquidation price etc. I think the most important in a portfolio app is that you can have all the necessary information about your investment anywhere. It is risky, for example, to access your account at an exchange when you are on the street, on a bus.
473  Other / Meta / Re: How can we protect Newbies from getting scammed? on: February 21, 2019, 05:10:45 AM
I do not see good points in newbie users being able to use PM. There is a lot of risks they take when receiving a PM. And most newbies use it to spread spam, scam and stuff like that.

In addition, any bug-related issues about wallets problems should be addressed in public posts. There is no real gain for this conversation to be private. Since the solution to the problem can help several other users later.

But the problem in question can potentially harm several other people. It's not a simple scam, and for those who do not understand how Bitcoin and transactions work, it can easily fall into something like that. It would be important for more people to know about this possibility. Especially in the novice section. It would be important for more people to know about this possibility. Mainly in the Beginners & Help section.
474  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] CoinMap 1.0 is back! on: February 21, 2019, 04:29:01 AM
Awesome. I didnīt have any idea that Brazil has so many venues that accept Bitcoin. And there is many that I know that accept but is not there. Congrats on bringing back this site. It is easy to find places and very informative.
475  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-02-19]May The Real Satoshi Please Stand Up? on: February 21, 2019, 04:16:31 AM
Very poorly written article. It is by this type of article that CW still gains attention and money. There is nothing useful or new about this information. Worse, there is no journalistic seriousness to disqualify how absurd this theory is that CW is the creator of Bitcoin.
476  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-02-20] Google Introduces Bitcoin Symbol on iOS Keyboards on: February 21, 2019, 04:08:33 AM
It's a step in the right direction with that BTC sign but I'm not too hyped since I'm not planning to buy any ios based product.

It's just a matter of time before most mobile os's will have it included in their native keyboard symbol set.

I'm not that hyped about it either, because it's way easier to type BTC than to tap and hold the $ symbol, and then tap on the BTC symbol.

The only good thing about this is the media attention that it has been generating, and for once it's not negative but rather positive, so it's at least doing well in that aspect. The funny thing however is that most Bitcoiners don't see this as being a big deal, but the ones looking at Bitcoin from a distance think it's an important step forwards. I guess that we're spoiled brats. Cheesy

How someone could not think this is BIG?! =(

This is adoption. They have made this probably because they have statistics showing the use of words related to Bitcoin. So a lot of people are typing things related to this and the simple would be useful. They have not just put there because they thought it would be fun. It is based on fact and statistic.
477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk calls cryptocurrency 'brilliant' while predicting end of paper money.. on: February 21, 2019, 03:26:33 AM
He's a tech guy. Always enjoyed reading and understanding about all subjects. He made a fortune with a company that revolutionized the way you pay for goods and products on the internet.

I find it odd that it takes time to understand what Bitcoin really is. He has never been contrary, but also has not yet become a lover. I believe that the moment he stops and studies about, he will be amazed and will certainly try to somehow create a new company related to it.
478  Other / Meta / Re: Appeal ban gefander on: February 21, 2019, 12:28:02 AM
Plagiarism has become an extremely rampant problem within our community and therefore we do not take it lightly.

Renting signature space in bounty campaigns may be seen as the main factor pushing users to plagiarize contents of others, just for their weekly quota.
This results in forced conversation and low quality posts and plagiarism, simply because many members have to meet a required post count in a certain period.

I think is the only one. But this doesn't mean that killing signatures will make the forum better, in my opinion. It may very likely make it worse. An example is the Brazilian section. For a long time, we had an exclusive campaign for the portuguese section of the forum. The section remained alive and with a reasonable number of topics. Any doubt always had someone to answer. The campaign ended a little while ago and after that and we currently, have almost no topics or posts since no campaign accepts posts from that section.

At this moment, all your position are short. I hope you are wrong =). But it would be more interesting if you provide a little more information about your bot and strategy.
480  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Samsung S10 crypto wallet leaks on: February 20, 2019, 11:40:50 PM
Confirmed - https://news.samsung.com/global/samsung-raises-the-bar-with-galaxy-s10-more-screen-cameras-and-choices

No details, but the interesting thing is the wording. It makes no mention of a wallet, just pure private key storage.

I'm going to guess that Samsung don't want anything to do with running an actual wallet. That's a ton of work and hassle with no upside. I think they're going to let wallet developers interact with what you have stored in your phone which means it's possible you'll be able to store anything in there provided someone develops it.

Let's see what details arrive next.

It will be at least curious. It seems to be a new approach. Any technology related to tap to pay will be massively used in the next few years. As some are joking, the only use of the fiat on paper will be for criminal activity.

I believe they can still offer a Wallet, but as software. In this description, they talk more about the hardware. That is, the Samsung Knox will be superior protection than those offered by any software. Maybe very similar to the traditional hardware wallets.
