You lost me at "Bitcoin.org"
There is no other than
Bitcointalk
462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's nonsense to compare bitcoin's tps with Visa/Mastercard/Paypal on: August 13, 2015, 03:10:30 AM
At this writing BTC does not out strip cash nor cash fiat out strips the Bitcoin
They are both mutually reliant upon each other
At this reading

@gogxmagog, you make a pretty good point but eBay members can delete their credentials before selling off the account. IMO some of these guys have stealth accounts in bulk numbers, better of selling them,

I would imagine eBay would still give me grief even if I did wipe my credentials.

So there are guys "farming" accounts with fake credentials, just to sell, or use themselves? It clearly designed to be used for fraud, but I guess I'm not surprised...

How much does a well rated, aged account go for anyway?

I feel like anything bad the account gets used for will come back on me, even if I claimed I was hacked. Identity fraud victims often suffer damage to their credit rating, even when proven innocent

464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If The Bankers Wanted To Destroy Bitcoin They Only Have To Do This One Thing... on: August 12, 2015, 11:26:02 AM
If the bankers really wanted to kill it, they would refuse to do business with the exchanges. They refuse customers and clients all the time.
If there was no speculation on BTC, no cash to drive its usage. It wouldn't be good for very much. Expensive pizzas and alpaca socks maybe, but every other retailer who accepts it today would have never arrived here.
I like to believe BTC could replace cash. If you could get every thing you can get with money, with BTC, and no exceptions, it would simply be a transition, but there is this transitional phase we are in now, where cash and BTC are inextricably linked... I suppose it's necessary to get to BTC ubiquity, but by removing the cash part from the equation at this early point, would be the end.

How many here would be so excited about BTC if there were no way to buy or sell them? I'm sure there would be a few crypto-stalwarts but that would be it. People need buying power, failing that, they need value exchange for something that does, like cash

These are frustrating times, but imagine a future where you pay and get paid in BTC. Universally. No more third party banks.
BTC is good for them too, obviously.
465  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK](SFI) Seedcoin Fund I on: August 12, 2015, 11:03:20 AM
Coinsilium has forecast they will be trading on AIM around 2nd week of August (about now)
I'm excited to see how it performs...
It would be better if I could actually trade the shares though
How's that going to work out? Limbo isn't good.
466  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Reason Bitcoin Price Fluctuates That Nobody Talks About on: August 12, 2015, 08:11:01 AM
I thought the price pattern was always;
If I need to sell, price drops
When I need to buy, price rises.
It's simple
467  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] Large stack of useless currency on: August 12, 2015, 07:28:41 AM
Recently came across this image:

If anyone has access to ridiculously large bundles of worthless money as shown here, send me a PM and I'll buy some from you.

they're selling sets of those VEF 2's over on eBay.. a couple bucks for a set of five, most likely collectable serials, or maybe historic because so worthless?

last year you could get a Zimbabwean trillion dollar bill for a few bucks USD but now i see they go for around 100$ USD

maybe these Venezuelans and Zimbabweans should go Forex trading on the eBay platform?

it would be cool to have those fresh bank bundles, wrapped like that... even if the money is worthless
468  Economy / Services / Re: FREE FOOD AT MAC DONALDS on: August 12, 2015, 07:17:43 AM
Even when I walk past McDonald's, just the smell alone makes me feel like I will have diarrhea. Besides, I prefer Halal, but I'll tell the app scam to all the crackheads and hobos that hang around on the sidewalk in front my local McRonalds. maybe they'll stop hitting me up for spare change. they're worse than the shit hawks

469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you didn't get paid for your signature, would you still care about Bitcoin? on: August 12, 2015, 07:03:36 AM
I cared well before the sig campaigns arrived, I'll care after they're gone.
I've also lost more btc than i care to mention
so every little bit helps

besides, thanks to increasingly demanding posting requirements

I'm a Legendary!

(they're going to have to make higher ranks that have less to do with post count and activity soon)
470  Economy / Digital goods / Re: WTB ebay account with feedback, personal accts welcome. on: August 12, 2015, 04:58:10 AM

471  Economy / Services / Re: My next block neighbours have made a homemade speedbump using a plank. on: August 11, 2015, 05:58:26 AM

call the FED

sir, I commend you
472  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitCoin Scam Watch and Fraud Investigations - Need Help on: August 10, 2015, 10:12:22 AM
Yes I say this all the time
We hear all about securing wallets and avoiding hacks but I think as many if not more BTC has been lost to shady IPO's ponzis pyramid schemes scams
Even one incident can turn a new adopter off crypto for good and every one is a terrible black mark on the public perception of BTC. Bad news travels faster and further than good. We hear new scandals every day.

I hope OP reads the securities section regularly
Pretty much every thread in there ends in scam.
It's a huge security problem
473  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: What will happen if we create another bitcoin? on: August 10, 2015, 09:58:31 AM
Brilliant idea !

Oh, 4000 people already came up with it.

He meant if someone created another altcoin called bitcoin and made everything the same.
You mean... Go get the client code, build a coin with the wallet template, convince someone to download it and set it up, then sell them some of your alt that you have named BTC? A forgery BTC?
It would be tricky to set up the victims, they would have to be 100% unfamiliar with BTC in general. But I suppose it could be done and someone will probably try it.
474  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Research] How and Where do you Spend your Bitcoins? [10,000 satoshi bounty] on: August 10, 2015, 09:43:32 AM
I filled it out but didn't take a screenshot 😖

Some of the things I have spent large amounts on but not weekly
Only one time, like investments
And some things, like physical goods I have rarely purchased. Like restaurants. I would more often but there just aren't any near me
Anyways
Good luck
(You can tell from my comments here that I have obviously completed the survey)

475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I doubled my bitcoin in last 3 months. How do you make money(bitcoin) online? on: August 10, 2015, 09:22:25 AM
Noob in his first post bragging that he has doubled his bitcoin holdings from BTC10 to BTC20? Give the necessary proof, else no one is going to believe you. There are tens of thousands of investment programs available in the Bitcoin sector. May be 1% or 2% of them are genuine, and will give you handsome returns. But the remaining programs will just take your money and vanish.

Agree with everything except one part
Handsome returns?
No
1 or 2% might be legit, but those 1 to 2% pay measly returns

I wanna see his www.N00byDoubler.xyz website too though
476  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginner here on: August 10, 2015, 02:49:53 AM
I assume you use fiat money in your day to day life away from computer
Everyone touches money, except maybe royalty. They have footmen and such for that filthy business
But even if you're 12 and live with yr parents
Occasionally you've got a buck or two

For every dollar you get
Save 25 cents
In a while you will have enough to go buy some BTC
That is the old fashioned way
But it works
In the mean time
Use these forums to learn about BTC and how and where to get some
You will probably find opportunities to earn actual BTC without involving cash along the way
You could be really glad you learn about security too
477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why We Need DAOs: the Shittiness of Man on: August 10, 2015, 02:34:16 AM
Well said
I hate it when I don't have time or the words to answer people's accusations
Then later I can put it all down succinctly... Next time, next time...
I hope she sees this
I was "arguing" with a friend last night
She was coming from a similar place to your heckler
Her angle was...
BTC will just become the same as what she perceives is wrong with the banks
In that it is a token of exchange that is still inequitable
And would be worthless under true collapse of civilization
She was all hyped on "time credit" system whereby everyone earns the same hourly rate per hour spent providing service
Or the hours spent creating goods
I had to agree that BTC did not address the Inequities in the labour force
But she wouldn't even listen to what works about BTC
Then she was asking me if she should invest in some
To be honest, she's going through some stressful times right now so I let it ride
But I still got to get her straightened out
It's hard with some of the best meaning people
Because they do fundamentally oppose our technocratic society
And I can't help but agree somewhat...
She was checking her phone all night though, so, you know
We drank a lot of wine...
478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Request for cooperation with the CIA in the project UnitedCoins and supervision on: August 10, 2015, 02:18:48 AM
This forum has gotten out of hand
I can't tell who's trolling who...
Or are they just stupid?
Insane?

I know a newb has to post like crazy to climb up to a half decent ranking
To get into a sig campaign and make any sort of half way worthwhile money at first
And it's probably eating into OP's time he would rather spend working on his "sci-fi spy thriller"
But seriously man
It belongs in the altcoin announcement section

I miss the Cold War
Guys like OP would just "disappear"
479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who thinks Gavin Anderson knows who Satoshi is? on: August 10, 2015, 02:03:12 AM
I voted yes before reading the thread and now I'm on the no side
If Gavin could prove he was satoshi he could do whatever he wanted with BTC
He would be the true BTC CEO
It would expedite all sorts of development
End arguments
Etc

Of course it might not reflect too kindly on the whole decentralized autonomous banking thing...
480  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Freebitco.in faucet - Has anyone rolled the top prize, 10,000? on: August 10, 2015, 01:57:24 AM
The thing is with freebitco.in is
They give you 2 tickets every roll
But they never say what the lottery prize is.
The roll of 10000 that gets you 0.7 BTC isn't the lottery because that's where you get the tickets
No where do say say either;
1. When the lotto is
2. How many tix you've accumulated so far
3. What the lotto jackpot even is

It's misleading but they actually haven't promised you anything besides lotto tix
For a lottery that can never be won
Because it will never happen
And there's no prize to give out

As far as rolling 10000 goes
It's been omitted from the basic code

Excellent traffic building strategy
And obviously very effective

It's like a "scratch & try" ticket
Which I saw once in Tijuana
It doesn't say "scratch & WIN"
So f#%k you. Haha
