481  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the advantages of trading BTC pair? on: November 02, 2023, 08:47:58 PM
I want to know why there are so many pairs available to trade on exchanges.
Does trading with a bitcoin pair help us save fees in any way? For example, if I need to trade other altcoins, I need to first sell my bitcoin for USDT and then trade that altcoin with the USDT pair. In this process, I need to pay a double fee, so trading directly with a bitcoin pair will save me fees in any way?
How will I profit if the prices of altcoins match those of bitcoin? When I trade with the BTC pair, both will rise and fall simultaneously.
We see a lot and that is good for this will give us an option as to which pair is more profitable. If we could think deeply, why do these coins exist if they can't be used for trading? Good thing that trading platforms give us a chance to choose coins to trade.
You wonder why the price went high and low and this is because of the volatility of the market. Even choosing altcoins the up and down of the price is still what we can see but the advantage of using the Bitcoin pair is we are sure that if the price falls, it will recover - meaning we can't lose if we are patient.
482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Nigerians spend $975m daily on online betting on: November 02, 2023, 04:13:13 PM
That's totally alarming considering the total population of Nigeria 225,600,039 as of November 2, 2023 coming from the source below.

https://www.worldometers.info/world-population/nigeria-population/

So let's do the match, that's 65m/223m = that's 28% of population are into gambling. Well, I tell you, this pecentage is too high considering some of the 225m population are minors or kids, or women, which the rate of gamblers is really high. And here's another interesting numbeer from OP>

Quote
spending an average of $15 daily

And as per data below, it's minimum wage is.

Quote
39.289 USD/Month

So they are gambling more than what they earn? That's unbelievable.
483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 02, 2023, 02:49:47 PM
It's strange that this game between Lakers and Magic isn't appearing at stake yet. So I still don't know who the favorite will be and what odds they will have. but my opinion is that the lakers will win

It's normal because the fight is set for three days from now. It's too early to expect odds for it. Try checking back the day before the game, and I'm sure not only Stake but other gambling sites will also list the odds.
484  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is regulation of cryptocurrency exchanges essential for mass adoption? on: November 01, 2023, 09:54:34 PM
Honestly, till now the regulation of crypto is still a debate of whether will create a huge impact to grow adoption or not. There is a mixed opinion on this thing but for me, this would help in a positive way believing that this will increase trust and build confidence to the users and merchants thinking that we're safe as the government supporting this project. However, we can't set aside the argument that the government may also take advantage of it and implement unfair taxes. This is the thing I've worried about because at the moment the government will take control, and manipulations can be possible which makes people say that it is better to stay in the situation that we have already.
485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 01, 2023, 09:31:08 PM
And this is why the Warriors traded Jordan Poole, Lol,

https://twitter.com/UsherNBA/status/1719135524001071523

He might want to be Steph Curry, but obviously he is not. And most likely why he was bench in the play off because of this kind of plays that he might pull, hehehe.

And it seems that the CP3 trade really looks good as of right now.  Grin

Brutal.  I mean young guys will do that kind of thing but if you don't learn or change then yeah eventually it leads to the bench and even worse without a contract and out of the league.  Pretty drastic considering his talent but yeah he needs to cut all that crap out.  Miss watching mamba put there during times when I see these guys loaf like that.

Poole's ball-hogging behavior is quite crazy; he doesn't seem to consider passing the ball to his teammates and appears to believe he can carry the team all on his own. Perhaps he's still riding the preseason high when he scored 41 points, but it's becoming apparent that this approach is not effective in the regular season. Defenses are tighter, and if Poole doesn't adjust his mentality, he might find himself falling out of favor with his teammates.

CP3 is number 8 in APG this season why Poole is at 87. LOL.. Warriors knows Poole would continue destroying the team if they'll keep him.

486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: November 01, 2023, 08:58:41 PM
Just the same, when Pacquiao is dominating the ring, I used to remember that Mayweather also thinks that way and he doesn't want to fight the prime
Pacquiao accusing him that there's something that the man is taking the reason why he really dominating.

But all are just accusation and not being proven till Mayweather beat Pacquiao in a match where many can say that it was a robbed with an unfair
judgements.
I watched that fight too, and I have to agree that Manny didn't appear to be robbed. Mayweather was clearly in control, dictating the pace of the fight. He made it incredibly tough for Pacquiao to land clean shots. While Pacquiao is known for his speed and strength, Mayweather's ring intelligence and speed were a crucial advantage, which is why he emerged victorious via unanimous decision.

However, it's true that some people have a negative perception of Mayweather's fighting style, finding it a bit on the boring side. Personal preferences in boxing styles certainly play a role in how fans perceive fights.

moving back to Tapales request, not sure if he and his camp can get that surprise test as the fight will take place inside Inoue's' homeland.
This is a unification fight, they'll do everything to make it a clean fight, and if that drug testing is requred, then I think both camp should comply with that.
487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to value bitcoin and cryptocurrencies? on: October 31, 2023, 08:54:59 PM
like we value equities using equations and ratios, what are the factors on basis of which one can do valuation of bitcoins and the other cryptocurrencies for that matter.
Bitcoin raises its value because people are buying and there is an increasing demand while the supply remains. It is the same scenario that will happen to altcoins. As you can see many altcoins are dying because nobody is buying them and demand is declining. Well, we can say that people never value them as they are useless either. Bitcoin gain such appraise and continue growing because there is an increased number of users, investors, and traders due to its profit potential and usefulness, unlike these altcoins where most of them are useless and scam.

489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 31, 2023, 02:15:43 PM
Some of you think Francis should have won, but the match should have been a draw IMO. He did okay, but not well enough to win. It just one round. Tyson Fury won every round according to the judges, even though he wasn't his best. But, the result won't change, so let's move on. It's all about the money!

That's not true. Fury won the majority of the rounds not every rounds, at least according to two judges, as it was a split decision. Two judges favored Fury, while one favored Ngannou. However, it was a close contest, so it's understandable that some people may believe Ngannou should have won.

These are the scores for your reference.

Quote
Judges Alan Krebs (95-94) and Juan Carlos Pelayo (96-93) scored the fight for Fury, while Ed Garner had it 95-94 for Ngannou.

490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not keeping records makes me a bad gambler? on: October 31, 2023, 01:36:07 PM

Do you know why? This is because I was able to know and admit my weaknesses and strengths in the two. This is why nowadays I gamble in casinos for fun and use a little money for it. But I gamble sports for the real deal and use a substantial amount for it.

I share your sentiment because I, too, believe that sports betting provides a better chance of winning, allowing for larger wagers. It's not accurate to claim that no one can win in gambling or that everyone loses in the long run. Such sayings often come from individuals who have had unfavorable experiences. It's essential to have a positive mindset because if we start thinking that we'll lose from the beginning, there's no point in gambling, as we won't experience the excitement we seek.
491  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let fear to lose be motivation to learn on: October 30, 2023, 09:50:11 PM
Since I know cryptocurrency my biggest fear is to lost all my capital or large amounts in trading or investment, because of the fear in me I don't do things that I'm not sure of or things I don't know. My fear to lose have always been a motivation or a reason for me to know things concerning cryptocurrency,  I fear to start trading when I'm of myself that I know nothing to trade , fear to start investment when I know that I don't have a source of income.

My fear have been a motivation to learn,  even If I start trading I may lose but not to lose everything because of the understanding I have. My fear to lose have always made me to take the right decisions and not to make money money my first ultimate in trading and investment but understanding as my first priority.

I know some of my mates who are into  cryptocurrency that phobia to lose but even with the fear to lose they still go ahead to trade. If beginners allows their fear to motivate them to learn first their won't be drastic lose in trading.

You are only limiting yourself if you continue to base your decisions on fear. If you are afraid of taking risks, you won't go far. Fear will only prevent you from exploring.  It is better you invest money you can afford to lose, this will help limit your emotional attachments to your investment which will aid you in trading or investing  effectively. You have to dedicate your time to learning so you will be sure of making informed and accurate decisions and analysis. Acquire all the necessary knowledge you need and trade without the fear factor.
Fear hasn't gone easily but it remains in our mind and the moment it triggers back, that is to say goodbye to our investment.
I don't know how OP thinks that way and make FEAR a reason to become motivated knowing that this will have a huge impact on our decisions. Making this a way to become strong, it is probably never works but it is just a failing attempt as in the end our fear may control our minds and actions. It is better to stop if FEAR exists rather than forcing ourselves to continue because, in the end, we're still suffering losses.
492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Tax Efficient With Your Gambling Habbits? on: October 30, 2023, 01:37:37 PM
I never thought about paying taxes on gambling. The main reason is probably that I live in a garbage country and there is no point in paying taxes here at all, but even if I were in a civilized country, I would hardly pay taxes on gambling. The essence of the deal is unclear to me (for me, paying taxes is a deal) - what do I get in return from the state? If I owned a casino, I would have no questions, but why I should pay taxes, given that the casino pays for all government services with its taxes, is not clear to me.

Typically, it's businesses that are responsible for paying taxes, not the gamblers themselves. However, there are certain laws in place that can appear quite unreasonable. It's rare to encounter a situation where a gambler is required to pay taxes, which may imply that the gambler is consistently winning and potentially impacting the casino's finances. Nevertheless, we are obligated to follow the law, even if it seems unfair. In the end, dealing with the consequences is the only option, as it's not advisable to go against the government.
493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 30, 2023, 12:34:41 PM
As a boxing fan or a neutral you have to give credit to Ngannou but if that is all Fury has left in him then Usyk could win their unification fight if their Fury vs Usyk on 23rd December 2023 goes ahead.

Then that would make the betting more exciting. As of this site https://www.oddsshark.com/boxing/fury-vs-usyk-odds-picks

The betting odds are as follows.

Quote
Tyson Fury Vs Oleksandr Usyk Betting Odds
Fighter   Odds
Tyson Fury   -260
Oleksandr Usyk   +190
Odds as of Sept. 29

I'm certain that the outcome of Fury's fight could lead to some changes in the odds. Usyk might shift from being a heavy underdog to a slight underdog. However, I believe Fury will still be the favorite, even if he doesn't hold the most belts.
494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 27, 2023, 12:01:06 PM

Just take a look at the 4th quarter score: 11-28. In a single quarter, the Lakers outscored the Suns by a 17 points. I appreciate the mentality of this team, as they don't give up. Winning the 4th quarter in most games truly demonstrates their discipline as a team. The highlight of the game has to be the Lakers' excellent defense in the 4th quarter.

That big run by the Lakers led to a huge win, and we know they're more than capable of it, especially with LeBron and AD, who've already won championships together. The Suns being undermanned did make it a bit tough for them to close out the game, and had Booker been playing, the outcome might have been different.

While the Lakers' big run is certainly impressive, I still see their inconsistency. It would be more reassuring if they played with consistency right from the start, so they wouldn't need to exert so much effort for a comeback. Nonetheless, a win is a win, and they've got one in the bag.
495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 27, 2023, 11:19:34 AM
I've heard a rumor that Ginebra has secured Tony Bishop as their import. Now, Bishop isn't new to the PBA, having played as an import for a different team previously. The big question is, can he bring a championship to the best team in the league?

What's your take on Tony Bishop? Do you think he has what it takes to lead Ginebra to a championship?

Here's the player's statisticis

https://www.proballers.com/basketball/player/11652/tony-bishop

It wasn't reported yet in popular website like spin.ph but we are already seeing some youtube video about this news. Well in 2022, he played with the Meralco Bolts and his stats are also interesting. Accoding to this article.

https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/meralco-import-tony-bishop-not-ready-to-go-home-yet-a2244-20220401
Quote
A leading Best Import candidate with robust averages of 28.4 points, 13.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game during the eliminations, Bishop has been neutralized by the swarming, menacing Hotshots defense.

He seems like a player who could potentially bring a lot to the Ginebra Gin Kings. However, it remains to be seen whether he can deliver under Coach Tim Cone, who values proper ball movement over a ball-hog style, even for imports.
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins that are good for long hodling in this season. on: October 27, 2023, 10:11:46 AM
I believe everyone knows the potential of these two known altcoins in the market. They are on the top among others which means that it was not just the price and profit potential but also their role in the crypto space. I know some coins can beat them when it comes to profit gain but if we talk about og having a sustainable profit and less risks, none from other altcoins could beat them.

ETH and BNB had already gained trust and people could never think about losing their money when investing in them as they were confident enough that these two coins would grow.
497  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware of this new scamming methods on: October 26, 2023, 09:50:10 PM
Scammers/hackers have been too aggressive and really finding ways to get someone to fall into their tricks. Good thing that they are talking to someone who has the knowledge about their way of scamming but if this happens to normal people, I have no doubt that they become successful with their plan.

As the crypto community grows, scammers have been targeting us now believing that they have succeeded. Fortunately, as we continue battling these scammers, we are able to warn the community and avoid them.

After all, I was too skeptical when someone sent links to me even to my friends.
498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Give Bitcoin investment time on: October 26, 2023, 09:23:07 PM
Maybe that is because this is what they see Bitcoin (or as a quick rich scheme) so their expectations are high about it. It also depends on the people. Be it BTC investment, or a business, there will always be people who are too impatient. The source of panic is not because of it but it is due to FUD and other negative (legit) happenings in the market. It won't also be possible if their emotions aren't too fragile enough.

We never fail to educate people about Bitcoin, it's just that they neglect it and rush in the gold. There is no need for us to change the way we taught BTC but the one's that needs a change are those people in our subject.
Perhaps, they were taught that once they invested today, they already made a profit the next day. And they believe those words from social media influencers. Well, I couldn't say it was totally wrong because sometimes it happens that there is a pump after buying and making the statement right but most of the time, it bond to be wrong. But if we have to understand clearly the meaning of investment, we can just realize that it takes time to harvest results and takes several months or years, not days.
499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 26, 2023, 10:05:05 AM
I can totally see this guy being a key part of the team's future; he's a hustle player, not afraid to get in there, which is just what they needed after Dallas let go of Christian Wood.

That's just one game, let us not overreact, just like what we thought of Wemby when he had a great preseaon, now he quite struggle in his first game but there was a reason on that, he was only limited due to being in early foul trouble, something that could be fix easily.

Here's the story of the game.

Quote
That six points was all the scoring for Wembanyama in the first three quarters as he was slowed by foul trouble. But he provided a glimpse of his outstanding skill by scoring nine points in the fourth quarter and finished with 15 points on 6-for-9 shooting (3 for 5 from long distance), with five rebounds, two assists and a block in more than 23 minutes in a 126-119 loss to the Mavericks.

I still find this an impressive game for him.

500  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much money can you make by investing in Bitcoin? on: October 25, 2023, 02:26:46 PM
Let us put into this...
Small capital = small profit
Huge capital = huge possible profit

But gonna tell you that --it is not all about how much money we put on but on how much work we put on. We can possibly earn more if we invest more but must know also that the risk of losing is too high as well. But if we know ourselves that we can protect our investment and able to grow it, becoming rich is not impossible. It is not really necessary to think of how much we earn as it varies on the market condition but what is most important is that we never miss the opportunity.
