481  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: biometrics authentication not entirely secure? on: February 06, 2023, 09:37:12 AM
Was thinking about how bitcoin and crypto currency can be made more secure using biometrics authentication though some of the biometrics are easily hacks but it's depends  to the uniqueness to a particular individual but still yet all biometrics can be hacked even iris and retinal scanning.
There are several ways which this can be done :
  • By using fake generated biometrics
  • Stealing someone's biometrics from database
  • using deepfake technology
  • finding means of bypassing biometrics check

Will like to know though if biometrics authentication can be made more secure

Biometric authentication can be made more secure if you could only store the hash and well encrypted biometric data in decentralized system after the data has been verified and linked to a user. I prefer the verification to be done peer-to-peer in at a physical location by randomly selected verifier, or done online via a split method I illustrated in the past. The first method requires a user & the verifier to be physically present in a safe location or location authorized by a Decentralized Community. Once the verification is completed offline with special equipment or equipment own by the biometric owner (this's to ensure the the data only remains with the owner or never copied by the verifier), the data is hashed, properly encrypted and stored on the decentralized system. But if you don't want to store the data on the shared system you can store only the hash.

You can use the verified data for online/offline authentication.
482  Other / Meta / Re: Use Of Multiple Accounts on: February 06, 2023, 08:52:37 AM
Multiple anonymous "usernames" or accounts is actually part of True cryptocurrency principle and should be in the general Crypto space . However, things should be set up in such a way that users/members can't abuse/misuse the anonymity without getting caught. Members should only  generate as many usernames as possible from a verified account. By verified accounts I mean accounts that have had their true identities safely (decentralized privacy-friendly manner) verified, hashed and encrypted.  Unlimited & anonymous usernames can then be generated from the verified accounts. The verified accounts will hold all the records of whatever punishment the anonymous usernames receives and will also be affected by the punishments.
And if an anonymous username is caught doing something really bad and dangerous  you could de-anonymize the account by revealing the verified name.

The lack of this feature is one of the reasons I stick to only one Bitcointalk account for couple of years till now.
483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big money bad for bitcoin in the long run on: February 05, 2023, 09:50:05 AM
Depends on the whales that take out their money from the market. Whales who deserve the money they wish to withdraw will have higher impact on price than whales who don't deserve theirs. Not all money of thesame amount are equal,... 7 btc ≠ 7 btc. . 7btc earned honestly is higher.

Nevertheless, we shouldn't worry too much about whales as they have been pretty much tamed now. They will only have influence on the price if they are allowed.
484  Economy / Speculation / Re: My fear in fall of Bitcoin. on: February 03, 2023, 03:58:17 PM
Your post seems to be in reverse.

Maybe I should rewrite and reverse most of the post into something dependable and trustworthy.

Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency that no ordinary human has the capability to predict it's rise or fall.
✔️   I am beginning to have a doubt that Bitcoin cannot go to a higher price just like the previous year.   [Me: Ofcourse, it's good you doubt that Bitcoin cannot go higher because it will go up higher soon.]
Cause Bitcoin price is determined by the amount that's bought by people. Just like the lower the number of bitcoins purchased the lower it's price and for it price to go higher it requires some Bitcoin investors, traders and miner's to withdraw some percentage of their fiat to buy Bitcoin.

485  Economy / Economics / Re: Is AMD using bitcoin's deflationary rewards structure to boost chip prices? on: February 03, 2023, 02:07:01 PM
Bitcoin deflationary model is quite unique and different in the sense that production of new Bitcoin is reduced unlike the method used by the companies you quoted, which could be considered hoarding. I wonder how long things will be hoarded before they get bad. Not a good idea to hoard something that expires or could become outdated for too long... unlike the current Bitcoins which could last as long as the network exists. Anyway this doesn't fit well though.
To fit it into Bitcoin deflationary model both companies will have to keep reducing the amount of new cpu/gpu they produce or manufacture until they nolonger produce anymore, then the sellers and consumers will now focus reselling/redistribution/reusing of old and existing cpu/gpu which could increase price significantly like Bitcoin price if demand is high (assuming they are the only of such companies in existence) and supply is low as no new cpu/gpu is manufactured any longer.
Hope you see why this isn't a good comparison to the Bitcoin deflationary model
486  Other / Off-topic / Re: Sell (free) 3D Models as NFT, is it legal? on: February 03, 2023, 09:07:26 AM
Hello everyone,

I notice recently, there are so many people are selling 3d models as NFT on OpenSea or other NFT markets.

while most of these 3d models are available for free, on 3dripper.com library or rigmodels.com,

is it legal to get these models for free and sell as NFT ?

Thank you!

I don't know much about the sites you mentioned (esp the last two) were you said they are available for free. If they are for free why then sell them to others as NFTs? But if there is part of the Terms where selling may be allowed then there is little you can do about it unless maybe they are not doing the selling  properly.
I however don't think it's moral/legal to sell things that should be free.. . And by selling i mean giving it to others only when they have paid or agree to pay for them. I'm OK asking for donations, which shouldn't limit those who really need the works but can't afford to donate.

*You may only sell free things if you have modified or added things of good quality/value to them.
487  Other / Off-topic / Re: Nobody is ugly on: February 02, 2023, 04:19:39 PM
Well, it's important to love everyone equally both the beautiful and the unattractive ones. But it's important not to reject the fact that there are actually people who are more attractive than others even in animal world. But sometimes I feel like being attractive/beautiful is a curse because of how difficult it's to be normal without living fake life pretending to be what you are not when you know you sometimes stink & poop like others.

However, I tend to focus more on the inner beauty than outer appearance. There are ugly people who just melt my heart when they speak or behave, while the behavior or speech of those who appear beautiful could make you not to want anything to do with people with similar beautiful appearance.
I tend to think that our CREATOR could hide good things in things that appear ugly for those with wisdom to find them.

No need to envy beautiful/handsome people too much as it's not really easy to live normal life (from my experience) in the midst of people who aren't so attractive
488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why running NFTs on Bitcoin blockchain is a dumb idea. on: February 02, 2023, 10:03:26 AM
The problem is with people or things who don't consider the fact that everyone/most participants should be able to run full Blockchain nodes, which help keep the network more decentralized and secure. Another very important reason everyone should be able to run a full node is so that it becomes possible to replicate the nodes within ones physical community, then continue to exist and do transactions with the community without the rest of the main Global Networks. This could be necessary when a part of the World/Network cuts off from the rest of the Global Networks during internet shutdown, disaster. etc
This is why I believe things will work out well on Sidechain/Multichain Networks  designed for different economic groups with different hardware capabilities/capacities. They should be able to customize the Blockchain to suit their capacities and their needs. Anyone can decide to run multiple Blockchains (multiple fullnodes) if he/she wants to, or run a single Fullnode of small/medium/big/unlimited Blockchain size. This could be inform of big/medium/small Blockspace or Blockchain that is customized to hold certain amount of information/data before it's automatically locked so that nothing enters anymore. You could customize it to lock at 50gb, 100gb etc..
A Blockchain can be designed to hold whatever amount or type of data one wishes so long as they are not limiting most/all participants from running their Fullnode for the Network. People could even design their Blockchain within the Multichain system to reject evil/harmful data that breaks their good rules. You can only be censorship resistant if your data is not a danger to the networks/participants/societies. If people reject your harmful data you have the option to destroy the data or host it alone or with your group and you will now be distinct group and easy targets for law enforcement agencies.
It's important that Blockchain be used for holding certain size of data most times as it may not be efficient to do otherwise. It's more suitable for light data/information. Other decentralized  non-blockchain applications/systems could be used for this purpose and they can be part of the Bitcoin Network as long as they meet the required safety standards/principles.

489  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Who can help? My husband died and a mining farm remained from him. on: February 01, 2023, 04:19:26 PM
Please help me! Maybe someone understands where it can be sold. Or teach you how to use it?

Has he been mining before passing away? Do you know if he had friends, family members, children etc he associated with that know alot about the mining or who are also involved in mining business? If you have such who understand mining really well and can be able to manage it then you may let them help you. Unfortunately, Sole Proprietorship or private business like that could be a bit hard to manage if the owner has passed away, so it's usually advisable to sell it off. But if you can find any who can properly manage it then do.
If your final wish is to sell the business, you should first of all try to see if there are willing buyers within you country/community. You could use Google to find miners around you, get their contact and ask them if they are interested in buying your late husband miner(or mining business) or perhaps they can teach you how to run the business profitably.
If you can't find any then I will suggest you go to this forum section called Mining and possibly ask your question or move this your post there. Here is the section link(I guess for Bitcoin mining): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=14.0
Go there and ask your questions, it's a Mining-related section Hopefully you will find the right people/person to guide you on what to do with the mining farm.

Hope you have the receipt that proves the miners were purchased by your husband, just in case you need to sell them/it. And I wonder if you know what he has mined so far and possibly have authorized access to it. That will probably enable you determine whether it's profitable enough to continue mining,  use it to take care of your family or continue from where he stopped.
Try to provide other proofs about the miners, like pictures(or probably video) as someone already suggested. This can help make things easy for for your helpers in this forum mining section.
490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: an Electronic Cash System on: February 01, 2023, 10:39:16 AM
Ofcourse, it's termed Electronic Cash System because it's fundamentally designed to function electronically, but there is no where it's said you can't use it offline or without something like the internet. It's simply an Electronic(not Internet) cash system. It's a very versatile financial system with currency that could be used like physically cash, online etc, as long as it's used in fraud-proof manner. I don't think Satoshi will be so dumb to restrict it to only online usage considering how centralized the internet can be. And private keys are flexible enough for offline use... A satoshi with evil agenda wouldn't have allowed this.

And satoshi must have considerd the fact that for Bitcoin to thrive/succeed it has to operate as an independent system parallel to the centralized system, and that will mean a network of people coming together as a Nation Independent of the centralized system. This fact is actually inevitable else Bitcoin won't be Bitcoin... or it will be conquered and Centralized
491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I didn't know IP addresses was used to send bitcoin on: January 31, 2023, 03:29:02 PM
I like how everything ended without much debate even though both 2 masters (satoshi & theymos) were in support of the ip address option.
The main thing that almost persuaded me in Theymos argument is that the ip alternative can help keep data out of the Blockchain( I actually don't want my Blockchain to be filled up quickly esp with heavy data). Unfortunately this broke the most important ideal of Bitcoin, which is Immutablity(satoshi seems to have solution for anonymity/privacy issue this can also create) .
Once an ideal is violated you just have to prepare for the worst.
492  Economy / Economics / Re: I have resolved into buying more and caring less on: January 31, 2023, 02:22:03 PM
Well, if your aim is profit, your method will be less profitable and riskier than someone who buys & sell at the right time. Combine that with the ability to properly predict the market and move it to any direction you want, profit will be unbelievably high. I will choose the method that gives me better profit with risk that is next to nothing.
Your method not sustainable by the way
493  Other / Off-topic / Re: Save wisely this year, piggybank or piggybitcoin on: January 31, 2023, 10:52:32 AM
Story of my life, 3 years ago, I bought a wooden piggybank for savings. My target was to save for 2 years before I opened it. I started putting money inside, until i realized the wood wasn't good enough so I opened it. lo and behold, termites has invaded  my save and destroyed my money 😔. Fast-forward to now, If I had used that money to invest in bitcoin, with good investment decision the money will be  secured and with increase in bitcoin, my money would yield interest.
Save wisely this new year, I'm starting my savings in piggybitcoin.

Depends on what you were planning to do with the money saved in the piggybank. Better to put your money into good use by solving problems with it or invest it on those/things that could use it to solve problems properly and profitably.
If you put the money in so called piggybitcoin, also make sure it's with the right intention which is typically for the good of the Bitcoin Network and its members.(and societies at large). Don't build up riches/wealth or save money in this World for selfish reasons or for yourself.
By the way, if you believe in GOD, you will benefit greatly by asking HIM to store up your good rewards
in Heaven in perfect security, which you can always access whenever you need to. Not a good idea to build up your rewards for yourself in this World.

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” — Matthew 6:19-21 KJV
494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So far so good with Bitcoin adoption on my side but I have question on: January 30, 2023, 02:54:49 PM
I wish there is a way that I can show families on here how successful I have bring numbers of people into Bitcoin between 2021 - 2023, it's been so great and I am very happy about it, I have fresh newbies at hand right now,  two of them are from the same university 🎓, I have spent 6 weeks with them teaching and answering questions about Bitcoin and wallets, now they decide to purchase their first set of Bitcoin.

Here is where I am confused, the present value of Bitcoin is growing, some said it's because of the Chinese New year Holiday aka Year of the Rabbit, since I got mine at 17,000 and 15,000 I feel it's wrong to tell these newbies to buy at 23,000$

Have I done the right thing by telling them to wait for some correction before buying or you famz have a better idea? Because right now I don't see anything thing better than to wait, double bottom is always possible with Bitcoin in bear markets.

I wouldn't advise you to continue guiding those newbies if you don't know exactly how to help them trade safely. If you are unsure you can tell them to split their funds between Bitcoin and stablecoin, so that when the price continues to rise they benefit otherwise they can buy more Bitcoin from their stablecoin reserve.

By the way, the one who is keeping Bitcoin at the current price says it will continue to move up, why doubt that? Or didn't you read it?  Well, I will not advice you to wait for a correction at this point but just be careful at +$30,000 price level.

Lest I forget, the bolded is not the cause of the massive increase in Bitcoin price this January
495  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Has someone tried to use ChatGPT to help in trading? on: January 30, 2023, 02:39:50 PM
I see a lot of people are using ChatG*PT for various reasons and with that there are now so many videos how it can help it with writing trading scripts etc. Has someone tried it until now?

It's possible to create one that learns from best traders/predictors or copy them. But this will be highly immoral if credit is not given to those it copies or learn from. I for example would never want such thing to copy or learn from me as I find it very untrustworthy and parasitic
496  Economy / Economics / Re: Success is fundamentally determined by luck, not effort. on: January 30, 2023, 01:53:15 PM

Recently I have had numerous reunions with Uncles from my extended family. Some of them are successful businessmen for decades. They built their business from nothing and are living quite a comfortable life now. We had long conversations about life in general, including their key to success. I knew very well that they have been hard workers ever since I had a memory so I would contribute their success to endless efforts. However, one thing they had mentioned in common was luck. They believe pure luck made them meet and grasp those opportunities and become successful rather than their smartness and efforts. I've thought about this before and couldn't agree with this more. They've set very good examples to me, including my father, and now I tend to focus more on work itself consistently and let luck or fate takes the rest.

If their success is based on luck then be sure they are not actually rich as they aren't sure how long they will be lucky with the riches.
I know of someone on this forum who became very riches by holding strongly to Christain principles that gurantee riches. Now he is so rich that he can get any amount of money he wants from worthy businesses. His riches wasn't based on luck. He simply played by the good rules that guarantees riches and he got very rich but living like a poor man

497  Other / Off-topic / Re: Cheating online during midterms on: January 30, 2023, 10:09:22 AM
You probably should go through the school rules and see if they allow students to cheat even in that manner. The problem with cheating your way to the top is that it will prevent others who deserve the job you are cheating to secure from getting the job, and be sure that you are being watched and you will probably know this if you consider the bigger picture. There is alway someone/something or few people/things who the world system is centered around. The bad ones would allow you to do whatever you want hoping that you will be blackmailed in future and used for more evil.... And of course, you could be jailed, shamed, , etc if you refuse to serve them.
Don't work for money. If you do what you are passionate about and talented in properly and use that for the good of others it will be hard for you to lack.
498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: controversial / possibly dangerous proposals for bitcoin on: January 27, 2023, 04:55:48 PM
What bitcoin proposals do you regard as controversial or even harmful ? And why?
These proposals can be both at layer 1 or at above layers (ex: TARO on LN)

For example, I've seen people being strongly opposed to proposal such as covenants and drivechains. I'm don't have a stablished opinion on them, so I'd like to see others' opinions on the topics, be it positive or negative.

I'm starting to notice moderate tension on some bitcoin communities i participate in (twitter, telegram, youtube) regarding proposals to change bitcoin (those 2 topics, as well as other ones) and to extend it on above layers (ceticism regarding lightning network and liquid network, heavy critics to TARO protocol). After reading Blocksize War, it kinda felt that in 5-10 years we could have another "civil war"

I think we need a strong social layer of cautious bitcoiners that are able to resist code changes that promote hidden agendas and could possibly harm bitcoin in the long run. To do so, those with technical knowledge should openly debate the pros and cons of proposals to change/improve Bitcoin (be it at layer 1, be it at layer 2,3,...) so that lay people can be more informed to take decisions. The success of bitcoin ultimately depends not on the success of layer 1, but on the strength of layer 0, the social layer (bitcoiners, node operators, miners, developers, educators, end users, etc...)

The issue is mainly with the way things are handle... Sometimes it feels like kindergarten children who aren't sure who is right or wrong fighting over crayon.
They should handle things the way responsible adults in National assemblies handle things by introducing a set of Bitcoin Principles or Rules that are not to be violated whenever they are proposing ideas or building things on Bitcoin. There will be less conflict and more harmony if everyone is proposing ideas that are according to the set principles the Bitcoin system is based on. If everyone agrees that this is not about changing or deviating from the hard-coded rules Bitcoin is built on participants can then harmoniously build applications within the set boundaries.
And conflicts will drastically reduce if there is well defined rule every activity is based on. Whenever there is deviation from the rule, there will automatically be a uniting force (united by the rule) against it...
499  Other / Off-topic / Re: Securing brains from satellites on: January 27, 2023, 10:35:37 AM
Simply don't feed from the system... and things will be harder for mind probing tech to know. Even feeding alot from the system alone without mind probing tech gives "bad actors" more advantages.

Mind probing tech are typically very limited with what they can get or see. You could compare them to different intensities of lights from different torch lights... The higher the torch light intensity the more things are revealed by the torch... the lower/dimmer the less. The mind probing tech are somewhat similar. Fortunately the most advanced one available could only see little comparable to what the dimmest light could see in thick darkness in area the size of about 100 football field.
Just make sure they don't understand you. This will be more like an encryption.
500  Other / Off-topic / Re: Knowledgable on decentralized consensus? on: January 27, 2023, 09:50:51 AM
I want to create a community or thread/forum for discussing new decentralized consensus methods. I was wondering if anyone would be interested?

As long as you're open to good criticism,  corrections, acceptance of faultless ideas etc.
You may let me know when you create a thread on this forum.  Then I will decide to participate when I see what you've got
I'm OK with the topic getting discussed on this section.
